They do have a small breakfast menu they serve all day and a few of the items like their quiche and chicken pecan tart are also on their lunch menu. It is a super cute restaurant with a nice outside seating area and a parking lot with plenty of spaces. They have a market on one side and the restaurant on the other. Note they each have their own entrance. Now on to the FOOD! At our table we got the French toast, the cod sandwich (which was a Friday special) and an order of their biscuits with honey butter and raspberry jam. Everything we ordered was fabulous and came out super quickly. The french toast was more of a casserole which we liked but I know is not for everyone. The cod sandwich was very fresh and had a nice light batter that was not greasy and it came with a side of their broccoli slaw. I was introduced to Wildflower Cafe about 12 years ago. I have introduced several friends and family to it as well, especially now that I live closer. The Caprese Quiche (not always available but quite often) with a side of the Tomato Basil soup is my favorite. Last week, my friend and I enjoyed their apple cider mimosa with the sugar and apple slice on the rim. After lunch I always go into the market to get a treat to take home. This time, I also bought a fully cooked bacon-wrapped meatloaf (as well as 2 peanut butter chocolate chip cookies). DELICIOUS and I got 4 meals out of it! I was looking for their beef stroganoff but everyone else beat me to it. Next time...so many choices!! It was a very hard call whether to save that second cookie for later for my husband but I did the right thing (for him--I saved it. Sigh) Stacey is wonderful and just has a great smile and energy. Wife and I had lunch here. Waited a reasonable 15 minutes for a table, which is about what the hostess predicted. The main dining area is comfortable, with about 16 or so tables, so even though they could squeeze a couple more tables, the setup makes it feel like you have a good space. It's a bit on the louder size due to the large window space. Lunch came within 10 minutes of order. We ordered the Pretzel Roll breakfast sandwich and the Santa Fe sandwich. The Santa Fe is roast turkey breast, melted California pepper jack, Applewood smoked bacon, sliced plum tomato, tropical fruit salsa and greens, in a sun-dried tomato tortilla, and my wife said it was delicious and filling, a definite repeater. The Pretzel Roll is a warmed pretzel bun with generous amount of scrambled eggs, California pepper jack cheese and Applewood smoked bacon. While it to was delicious, the scrambled eggs were half out of the bun when served, and near impossible to realign, so half was eaten with a fork, the other as the intended sandwich, which was too bad, because it was mostly very good. This is a cute cafe located just past Morton Plant Hospital. It gets pretty busy so it would be a good idea to make reservations in advance otherwise be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes. Parking is plentiful but indoor seating is a bit small and tight space. If you get the Belgian waffle entree, it comes with 3 waffles. But not listed on the menu, you can request 1 or 2 waffles. I ordered 2 Belgian waffles with sausage and fruit for $7.99. It was surprisingly delicious and filling. The waffles were airy and not soggy. The buttercream on the side was the best I've ever had. It was such a nice flavor and balance! This place gets one star for this. Our server Collette was incredibly sweet and patient, earning another star. But this place is docked three stars for the INSANELY rude and disrespectful host named Stacy. Our friend was offered a table, and since we were ten minutes away, he asked nicely if he could be skipped and sat a few minutes later when we got there. She claimed that he had to be sat at that time or it'll mess things up (years in the service industry with lots of hosting experience from all four members in my party, it's not hard and actually makes things easier to skip a party that doesn't have all of the members there). Anyway, when I got there, my friend was anxious because the host kept stressing him out about us, even though he made her perfectly aware before he even sat. She was storming around the entire restaurant with an attitude and at some point early into us seating, she bombarded our table and started yelling at us because our fourth party member wasn't there. Mind you, I already had this party member's order so it wasn't going to hold up anything. I was ready to place her order when we placed ours! Anyway, Stacy starts yelling at us in front of customers saying "I HAVE BEEN REALLY PATIENT WITH YOU" and threatening to take one of our tables away and leave us sat at a 2-person table despite there being three of us with our fourth member already on the way. Let me repeat that my friend ASKED NOT TO BE SAT YET TO AVOID THIS HAPPENING! We're all completely shook. We are all VERY respectful people. We're all in the industry, we clean up our own tables, we treat everyone with respect and say thank you for everything, we over-tip. We didn't do a single thing to warrant any of this attitude from her, especially in front of other guests. Especially for her to shoot us dirty looks every time she walked by, talk about us to the other staff right in front of us, and then approach all of the other tables in a polite manner, making us FEEL the sting. And that's not even the topping on the cake. Stacy then proceeds to approach our server RIGHT behind us and talk crap about us within hearing range. I have NEVER raised my voice at any person at a restaurant before until that day. I immediately called her out and told her how absolutely disrespectful and rude it was to talk about a table in front of them, that we were all in the industry and that her behavior was competent unacceptable. She just shot me a dirty look and stormed off, slamming a door open. Oh, and when my sister got there, she said "I didn't realize that I've been here before! Last time I was here, I called mom complaining about the rude service I had and said I'd never come back." Guess who she pointed out as the rude person when she walked by? Stacy. I have been dying to come here for months. Seriously, MONTHS! I was so excited to finally try this place out and this experience was by far the worst I've ever had. Sometimes I'll get a tired server or come across people who just seem burnt out or obvious that they don't want to be there. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but she was obviously struggling with smiling and presenting a 'welcome to Wildflower' attitude. We were also disappointed with the chicken/apricot salad. Why 5 stars? Because it was worth every bit of anticipation. --- --- --- I have an on-going, ever-evolving list of restaurants on my to-do list - Wildflower has been near the top of mine for a while. The two things holding me back were proximity to my house, and the fact that I'm not a huge breakfast person. But I was determined, and it finally happened. The result? It was worth every mile. Let's start with the headline: Wildflower Cafe is home to the best waffle I have ever had. Do not come here without getting some form of waffle. The whipped cream, powdered sugar, and melt-in-your-mouth waffle is a combination that makes life worth living. I hate using cliches like "melt in your mouth," but there's not a non-cliche way to accurately describe this euphoric experience. Along with the taste of this heavenly waffle, I love the ability to order a smaller waffle, in conjunction with some hearty nutrition, via the Wildflower Triple. When I visit breakfast restaurants, I often times *WANT* to order the panckes/french toast/waffles with like 5,800 calories of sugar goodness piled on top. But I also know that I'll be useless for the rest of the day after eating something like that, especially as my first meal of the day. I always yearn for a mini portion of such things, and at Wildflower, you can get just that! The Triple comes with eggs and bacon to help prevent diabetic-like symptoms of too much sugar, too early! Other things I loved: -The biscuits with honey butter are as amazing as one would hope. Just a warning, they crumble easily, so they're a bit of a mess to eat, and not meant for an amateur butter-spreader! -The peach tea. It's very sweet, so if you're into that sorta thing, don't hesitate to order one of these. -The grits were some of the best I've ever had. -The ham and cheese melt was very good. If I HAD to pick something I enjoyed the least, this would have to be it, by default. But let me clarify, it was like a 4.8, while everything else was a 5.0. It was time to try out another place for brunch. Although this is about 30 minutes drive from where I live, high recommendation from fellow yelpers definitely made me find the cafe. We were here for the Sunday brunch so I ordered Eggs Arnold which was eggs Benedict in a croissant. It came with fresh fruits and oven roasted potatoes. Everything was delicious. Eggs were almost perfectly poached, hollandaise sauce was nice and the potatoes had a nice taste, flavor and a little kick to them. Fruits served looked and tasted very fresh and good. I also tried the ginger hibiscus iced tea and it was perfectly sweet. I don't like sweet tea but it was well balanced and refreshing. My girlfriend tried the Belgian style waffles and they were very good as well. It came with 3 mini stuffed waffles perfect to fill most people up without wasting food. Fresh whipped cream nicely balanced up the waffles. Finally their coffee was quite good and so was the service. We would definitely want to return to try out non-breakfast food next time. The food makes me want to waive my passage into heaven if they banned it there. Decided to drop by for lunch and am so glad that we did. It's a very busy place at lunch but the wait time was only about ten minutes. We decided to eat inside. It is a very bustling place. After eye-balling the Daily Specials' board, we decided to get the Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad. ($11) (see pic) It came with some of their lemon bread which is similar to a pound cake and a cup of their absolutely awesome Vegetarian Tomato Basil Bisque! If you ever eat here (and I hope you do) you have to get a cup of this bisque. On our way out, we were looking at their dessert case and were told about the store that the Wildflower Café runs next door to the restaurant. We scurried next door to find a treasure trove of wonderful cookies, cakes, delicacies and 'grab-n-go' items. Wildflower cafe is amazing! The staff was super friendly and I love how homelike the restaurant was. Myself and three of my friends visited wildflower before heading to the beach on a Sunday morning. We were the youngest people in the place. The clientele is above 65. We did get some stares with our tattoos and crazy hair, but who cares! It was well worth it The place is open until 2pm for breakfast and brunch. I almost gave up finding this gem because it is located on the backside of the building. Look for a sign reading CAFE stuck in the grass. They should install a flashing sign! We all order orange juice. It was fresh squeezed and delicious. I ordered the egg crepe filled with vegetables served with home fries, fruit, buttermilk biscuit and jam and a flavored butter. The jam/butter on the biscuits was so good!!! The presentation was beautiful and the food was excellent. My friends all raved about their food and how they would drive to clearwater just to eat breakfast!
