I wasn't impressed by this place, even though they have a lot of good reviews. It's a small place, gets crowded, doesn't hold many people and not much room to move. You'd think that since it doesn't hold many people the service would be quicker, we waited longer than most bigger places we ate at and still didn't get what we ordered. Maybe I'm being picky but they brought the toast we ordered when she brought us the check. FYI, ordering toast here is just one piece of bread, not two, and it took about 30 minutes to get that one piece of bread. The party next to us had to keep reminding the waitress of there French toast over and over, it was finally delivered after they ate and plates were cleaned off, they were getting ready to leave when they finally brought it. The service here is not good at all. The prices are better than most. I had biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were good, soft and flavorful. The gravy I wasn't a fan of, it had a sweet taste to it, it was good but not my cup of tea. I didn't give them 2 stars cuz of the gravy, I prefer a more sausage and meat type gravy, but that's just me. My lovely had the Smothered Potato Skillet, with wild potatoes... it was pretty good, the potatoes were cooked just right, the chili was delicious and not overly spicy. Drinks come in a can (soda) but you do get a cup of ice with it. If it wasn't for the service, I'd give it a higher rating and might go back again. read more

We came back for lunch this time. My husband ordered the reuben sandwich with french fries. He said it was a good reuben. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with pasta salad. It was SO good! The wrap was so full of flavor! And the pasta salad was just a treat! It had a greek flair to it with tons of feta cheese, dill, tomatoes, olives, cucumber...I was not expecting much out of a pasta salad and this was a surprising delight! read more

We walked in for brunch, and asked how long the wait was. The lady at the front blurted out, "We only have ten tables. It's a 45 minute wait. What do you want to do?" Albeit a super tiny place there's enough room for a couple to enjoy (as long as close proximity to others doesn't bother you). Staff is very friendly and it has a mountain town community feel inside. The Bloody Mary selection was great, I tried the Luigi (basil infused) and it was spicy but good. I also had the veggie skillet with salsa verde and they make a killer green chile! The potatoes are thinly slice and fried which makes them really delicious. The skillet was sneakily small but had a ton of food. The man had chicken fried steak w/ biscuits and gravy and it looked choice, nothing too greasy here! Jan 2016 review update: I'm upping my review by a star. We just enjoyed the perfect Sunday brunch - consider arriving before 10:30am or after 1pm on a Sunday to avoid a wait. We walked in at 1pm. The breakfast burrito was even better than I remembered, green chili & potatoes hit the spot; portions are generous, And the service (lady in black, no name on the bill) was a rock star. Ketchup was brought to the table without having to ask. Mimosa & food arrived fast, timing was ideal for water/coffee refills. Sunday's afternoon of bluegrass music wasn't too loud and added to the experience. The current selection art (love the solitaire pine cone) and real purple daisy flowers on the table invites cheer & beauty to the dining in. Plus a real daisy offers more entertainment to a 3 yr old than a coloring book can match. (Uploaded a picture) Recommended and will be back. If it's consistent, I'll up my rating again. 2015 3-star review: Good food without being exceptional, full plate portions commiserate to the price, friendly service without being overly attentive. We stopped in here for a spring time Saturday late morning. The place was very busy. As it turned out looking at the menu we realized we are at an exceptional place for breakfast or lunch. We both ordered breakfast and we're both thrilled with our meals. I had the huevos rancheros and for me it was the best I've ever had. I ordered it with extra jalapeños and they were fresh sliced across the top. Perfect. It's a smaller quaint place and waitresses work very hard to keep up with all the different tables. To me it's quite understandable when they have to constantly flow from indoors to outdoors keeping up with the demands of the different tables. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food. This is a definite place to enjoy each bite. read more

Had you asked me a decade ago when I started doing the Yelp thing if I ever thought I'd use the word "inspirational" to describe a mountain town cafe, I'd have laughed you out of my presence. But, here we are. Having a nice long Sunday brunch at the Wildflower Cafe was absolutely inspirational. After a birthday weekend in the mountains the ladyfriend and I were searching for a closer-to-Denver-but-not-quite-out-of-the-mountains-yet place for breakfast. We searched the Yelp-o-sphere and settled on the Wildflower Cafe because it gave us an opportunity for a scenic drive, and because the pictures of their breakfasts were so darn good. It was mostly the pictures. We arrived and had almost a 30 minute wait, which wasn't too bad since the sun was shining and we could hang out on their patio. It's a very, very small space. It seats MAYBE 30 people? It was absolutely packed, and rightfully so. When a spot became available, we were told it was at the counter, and were asked if that was alright. Alright? Heck I just want food! We sat down at the counter, a small 3-seat affair that's right next to the kitchen area, and where the staff makes the drinks. We had been sitting down for maybe 3 minutes when we were promptly asked our names. We introduced ourselves, as did the staff (with handshakes!) and it was about this time that we realized that the three women running the place knew everyone. Everyone. They didn't want to let us eat without knowing us, and introducing themselves. The food was amazing. I don't even remember what I had, honestly. We also had a couple irish coffees, and upon hearing it was my birthday one of the women simply poured me more whiskey because it was my birthday. So sweet! This is the kind of place where they know everyone, want to know everyone, and care about everyone. At one point a single came in and took the other seat at the counter, and the atmosphere at Wildflower is such that someone sitting next to you is a new friend. We were chatting and sampling food off of each others plates with abandon in no-time. Maybe that's gross to you, but that's just the kind of thing that's right up my alley; that's friendship to me. We helped pass food to customers behind is, it really is a tight squeeze in here, we talked to customers around us and all of the staff, we got to see puppy pictures from the staff - it felt like a family breakfast in a way. I was beaming when I left. It was a reminder of small town life where you know everyone, care about everyone, and genuinely happy. I was so happy with my experience here. The food rocked, the staff was incredible, and I cannot wait to go back. read more

I wish this was a training video on what NOT TO DO. But it isn't. This is how it looked from my table to the kitchen. The place was freezing, the music so loud I couldn't hear myself think...and maybe I could let that slide. But working in many food and beverage establishments, from busser to manager, this is not something that's acceptable. Cleaning products with the food. And eggs being stored on top of the fridge by dirty plates that don't go there. Like my daughter said...who is also in the f and b business, at least pretend you give a shit if you have an open kitchen. I will never go back and these pictures say it all. Terrible. I'd give it less than one star if I could. One of the best breakfasts we've ever had. Husband, dog, and I were in Evergreen for two nights and tried Wildflower Cafe the first morning we were there and promptly decided to return the next morning to try more food. I had the biscuits and gravy, which were like none other I've ever had. The gravy was seasoned with sun dried tomato, basil and rosemary. So good. My husband had the wild sandwich with potatoes and devoured the sandwich quickly! We ate outside and our poor dog laid in the sun and wished for droppings. But they kind waitress brought her some water to keep her cool. The second day we got the chicken fajita skillet and the stuffed French toast. We were far from disappointed. The skillet has eggs, avocado, potatoes, salsa, and chicken. The French toast had delicious strawberry cream between two large slices of toast. We had their lattes each day too. We would give 10 stars if we could. We will definitely return and highly suggests anyone to try this cafe!! read more

Food is good, the potatoes especially, but be prepared to wait at least an hour after you order for the food to come. The wait staff is usually not very friendly or good either. We are locals and have been to Wildflower several times continuing to give it a chance. I was the last one in my family to hold out hope, but I am done as of today. Great spot on the Main Street in Evergreen. It's cramped inside, but a great, welcoming atmosphere. There are seats outside which are great with the CO weather. I'm a breakfast junkie and they do most things very well. The eggs, sandwiches, potatoes...all good. I was disappointed in the flavor of the pancakes. They're huge, so you won't be disappointed with that, but they're not light and fluffy at all. They're actually kind of brittle (if you can describe a pancake that way). I imagine the team meeting every week goes like this: hey guys we know we have good food and a great location so people are going to come. Totally fine if we keep customer service to subpar. I have enjoyed this place in the past but I am afraid if I go back it would only be for the bloody Mary's. I put my name on the wait board. People kept piling in. I waited for 20 min. There was a single guy who came after me. Technically that is why there is a board for a wait list. If you are a local you can walk right in and sit at the counter. You can even get up and get your own refill. I basically had to let the staff know I was still waiting. So the local single guy had already ordered by the time I got seated at the counter. I ordered the Ricardo. My eggs over medium, steak medium. My breakfast came out and the steak was raw. My eggs whites were slimy still but I figured I would just go ahead and try to eat it. I finally asked if I could just pay for my eggs and tomatoes, because I wasn't excited about staying there any longer. She took my steak and had it back to me in a few minutes. She said "here", then shoved the recooked steak at me. I said thanks and then asked if my meal came with toast. Oh yeah, a few minutes later I had toast after I had pretty much eaten my eggs and the green chili without it. The steak was done right the second time till I got the the end half of my steak. Then it was well done and dry. I left it and thought I would eat a piece of my toast with their home made preserves. Well, I had to ask for a butter knife as I didn't want to put my fork or steak knife in the jar. Way over priced for what I got, how it was served and the service. It took me over an hour to eat breakfast with the wait and order time. The bloody Mary's are great but not with a 20-3 minute wait. Especially when they seat others ahead of you. I felt like they were too busy, too crowded and didn't care about a single female who needed some breakfast. read more
