Showed up and there was no wait. We got our drinks quick and even got my Bloody Mary served quickly. The Bloody Mary was good and was well made. The food took over 45mins to get and by the time we got the food we were past the hungry phase. We were told there were 3 orders to go that had to be taken care of first then our order would be finished and brought out to us. I would have thought that the people ordering in should get first priority, guess not. The food was good but the service was well below unacceptable. Other tables were being checked on but we had to stop the waitress to even get water. Overall the food was good, but not worth the wait and the poor service. My husband and I had come to visit Colorado Springs and Bailey from Dallas, TX. This was actually the day we were leaving but were hungry so decided to find a good brunch place. I just googled and we took a detour and soooo glad we did!! Evergreen is so beautiful and this place was so cute and great food! There was a little bit of a wait which we didn't mind. There was only one cook and one waitress(Kayla i think) and it was busy but she rocked it all by herself!! Came here on a whim after a hike. We thought it looked super cute and quaint on the outside and we wanted a real mountain experience. First, the ladies here are super funny and way quirky. My friends couldn't stop laughing. Em and Kim are awesome!! The Habanero Bloody is amazing! We stayed for extra drinks because we loved the company. My friends were in from Southern California and wanted a mountain experience and they said this was perfect. I thought the vegan skillet with cheese and eggs was fantastic. My friend got the chorizo skillet and thought it was the best ever. My other friend ordered the burrito with chili Verde and was not so impressed with the sauce but love the burrito itself (as Socal natives, were particular about Mexican). I went here about 9 years ago when I last visited Colorado and derive my it last time and thought it would be a great nostalgic think to mark my revisit. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet my expectations from previously. The place was over-busy and obscenely disorganized. I had a really bad sunburn and asked to wait in the shade then got yelled at for doing so. Then it took forever to get seated. Even longer for anyone to attend us. They never came back with our water and coffees until we asked twice. The silverware was obviously dirty with remnants of food. I'm fairly certain people who arrived after us (same party number) got seated before us and they mentioned they don't have online reservations etc. We got seated by the door so kept getting jostled by all the waiting guests and employees. They don't use a modern phone or table paging system so they were literally screaming in our ears the entire time and I heard one of them brag about "being old school". The waitress kept "losing" our order (her words) and we had to reorder from memory without a menu and she was visibly annoyed by the time it took. The waitress didn't understand the difference between gluten allergies and vegan and gave blatantly bad food advice so if you have strong preferences or allergies do not eat here. We were there an hour sitting on extremely hard uncomfortable wooden benches outside. The only offer of apology for our horrible experience from the waitress was an offer to "buy" us soft drinks we never ordered or even wanted. We were running very late at this point so my friend had to go inside and ask for boxes while finally saw the waitress and flagged her to get the bill. She gave me a snide remark implying I was being impatient because "they were backed up and only had one machine." Considering she lost our order three times, I'd think she'd be jumping to repair the courtesy. The lady who seemed to be a manager (I'm not 100% sure) seemed to know what was happening and did not apologize to us. If you are not a thin person, I do not suggest sitting outside. Me and others looked visibly uncomfortable. This was hands down the worst restaurant experience I can recall in recent memory and the lack of anything remotely resembling empathy or an apology added insult to injury. I was sorely tempted to leave no tip and may well have been justified. I highly suggest not going to this restaurant. Go to Black Bird in Kittrrigde which alternately had one of my best recent dining experiences. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday for lunch and found a small, hip place. Plenty of choices on the menu and they all looked good. I ended up with an omelet - served all day. It was delicious. It was served with potatoes. The service was fast. The place is small, and clearly the choice of the local crowd. Be prepared to wait a for a table, but it's worth it. read more

Had the mountain high breakfast with a coffee that were both frankly AMAZING. The vibe is really nice and it had an "At home" feeling when i walked in. I dont remember the waitress at the front register but she was the best waitress ive ever had! She was assisting everybody and was productive with me and the 2 people with me too. The only thing i didnt like was the size being a bit too small but other than that i was not only impressed but felt the full enjoyment of Evergreen in Colorado. Took my mom for brunch one weekend she was out from Louisiana. I wanted to have a decent breakfast up near Evergreen. We were not disappointed. Good breakfast food - everyone seemed happy. The town of Evergreen is quaint and this little nook is part of that charm. The whole town is cool. Just remember size is not always everything. VERY tiny space. Which is usually fine- quaint and quirky for a mountain town. I was VERY turned off when I saw the CHEF in the back take a big bite of a pastry, getting crumbs ALL over the place (can't see if it was the floor, counters, etc.) WITH his cooking gloves on and not changing them after! Slow service, inedible chicken I really wanted this place to be better, I really did. But from the time we placed our order it was 30 minutes sitting on our hands before we were told that they lost the food ticket. Then 40 minutes into our visit we received a wet salad with inedible chicken strips on it. To their credit they remove the cost of the salad from our bill. We visited on a Sunday, they were crowded, and completely overwhelmed. We hope to give them another chance, but only mid week next time. read more

I went on a Saturday morning, but I made sure to get there early, as I have heard about the wait. I walked right in and had my food in 10 minutes, and it was served with a smile and genuine kindness. This was as good of a chorizo skillet that you'll ever find! I was loving the thin seasoned potato wedges (looked like they had a buttery garlic glaze), the chives/sour cream, avocado, chorizo bites, hot sauce, eggs, and salsa. It was very filling and if I had left hungry, it would have been my fault! I also loved their 70s/80s playlist- had a few customers and one of the chefs singing along at 8:00 in the morning! Im new to living in Evergreen, I've tried this place twice in the past 6 months.. Not impressed. It's really particularly bad on the weekend, you'll wait about 45 mins for your food, after however long you wait to get seated. The seats and tables outside are all croaked, and haven't been throughly cleaned in years, maybe decades? The staff is nice and the kitchen can do a good job with what they have, when it's not busy.. But for breakfast on a weekend, don't go there with your hungry Wife, you might lose her and still have to pay the bill.. Stopped in for breakfast to go during the weekday, and they were slammed. I ordered a coffee and and egg sandwich. The server poured my coffee right away, which was annoying because by the time my food was ready my coffee was already getting coldish. Also the coffee wasn't good, it tasted very acidic and bitter. My egg sandwich was good and disappointing all the same time. The actual eggs themselves were good. But the sandwich was VERY small. (see picture). I also got potatoes on the side. Again they were good and disappointing all at the same time. They were cooked OK, but plain with no seasoning on them at all and were very boring tasting. Wild potatoes are not so "wild". This cost about 7 bucks total and I didn't feel like it was worth it at all. I'll give them another try but, not impressed at all so far. read more

Albeit a super tiny place there's enough room for a couple to enjoy (as long as close proximity to others doesn't bother you). Staff is very friendly and it has a mountain town community feel inside. The Bloody Mary selection was great, I tried the Luigi (basil infused) and it was spicy but good. I also had the veggie skillet with salsa verde and they make a killer green chile! The potatoes are thinly slice and fried which makes them really delicious. The skillet was sneakily small but had a ton of food. The man had chicken fried steak w/ biscuits and gravy and it looked choice, nothing too greasy here!
