It's really sad how far Wildflower's Tempe location has fallen. This used to be one of my families favorite places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food we received this evening to-go was totally disgusting and we ended up throwing all of it away. The potato soup was lukewarm white water and our Pene Alfredo had zero flavor. Thankfully the manager was kind enough to offer us a refund. To be fair, this is just one of several WF locations and the only store my family has experienced less than stellar food. read more

Saw another review about this same location and same issue and felt compelled to leave a review as well. Small portions aside for a bowl of soup, they consistently under fill the bowls with delivery. Last order was 2 bowls of chicken noodle that came with no chicken and only bits and pieces of veggies. Even the noodles were bits and pieces. Hard pass on this location for soup. read more

Deliciousness all the way! Portobello picnic was very savory with the arugula, roasted tomatoes and zucchini, and ricotta cheese, and the cinnamon French toast was sweet and wholesome with melted butter and warm syrup on top. It was a bit crowded with tables so close. Then, I saw a guy just put his whole hand in the bread bites and made it kinda nasty especially when there was tongs available to pick up the bread. Yuck! I've been to this location numerous times to meet and chat with family. Always fresh, reasonably priced food and good service. Love the soup in a breadbowl along with their sandwiches. In these times when everything is crazy expensive, disposable eating out dollars are under attack by gas prices. I delete eating out dollats to even the scales after getting robbed at the pump. I love the egg and sausage sandwich at Wildflower and have been ordering it for maybe 10 years. I ask for it on 9 grain bread and then ask for the bread on the side, so basically scrambled eggs with some veggies, sausage and cheese and nice fresh homemade bread on the side. I think Wildflower has struggled after the pandemic keeping good cooks because sometime the eggs would come out with brown marks - overcooked. This did not happen often, but a few times in the last year or two. I learned to cook eggs from a French chefs who said if you get brown eggs at a restaurant to send them back to the kitchen. I seldom do that but might not eat them either. Today the eggs at Wildflower were perfect, no brown but yellow and moist. I ask who the chef was and they said Mikey. Mikey keep up the good work on your perfect eggs, my French Chef instructor in culinary school would approve! read more

I wrote a review and was taken away by the owner because, I wasn't too in detail or clear. Aprox three months ago I was in Wildflower. Here goes again: My very first time here, a TAKE OUT! I order all times with other business, but I said, let's give it a try here. I called and asked for the manager, we spoke, I ordered plenty and a KID green salad with grill chicken on for my nephew. I spoke to the manager and told her I want a green salad with fresh GRILL CHICKEN She never told me it wasn't fresh and grill chicken. It was a piece of turkey in slice breast from the Deli, a take out. Arrived home and I called her and spoke to her and she told me they don't do fresh grill chicken because it gets dry very easily, it's what she said, instead they do slice chicken from the Deli and it's was dry to. " I can do it myself at home". The point here she never told me when I ordered over the phone with her, I said fresh and grill chicken. I paid close to $12 Dls for the salad and it wasn't the greatest. She never disclosed it wasn't fresh grill chicken. I paid for something I DID NOT order. I haven't been back again. I'm sorry, this place isn't for me. I like big fuck off affordable breakfast that leave you feeling satisfied. This place just felt over priced and had non of the soul of a mom and pop shop. My go to is chicken fried steak and loaded hashbrowns. This places is more of a glorified Starbucks bakery filled with try hard with the expendable income. If you want bread or baked good, then they were pretty solid but this is not a brunch destination. read more

This is the worst location with pick up orders. The orders are always so small. They've also messed up my orders numerous times. I tried to give them another chance, and they messed up my order again. Very disappointing. And sad that they can't find capable employees. read more

I did return to this place after customer service offered me a giftcard for my 4 star review. The value of the card was $12, so thanks to Wildflower for the card. I noticed the Sour Cream Blueberry Muffin online, so after I got the card (about 10:30am), I also noticed they were out of that muffin. No big deal right - things sell out, but customer service tells me otherwise: Hi Brad, Our standard is to be 100% in stock. I am so sorry to hear we were out of the Sour Cream Blueberry muffins! Did you speak with a Manager? Was this at the Tempe location? The only thing I could think of is that someone came in and ordered a very large unexpected order for a catering however that would be a guess and it is always best to go straight to the source! I did receive an apology, but never got an explanation about why they were out of that muffin, despite this policy. Anyway, the pumpkin/chocolate muffin was outstanding, but if that really is your policy, then get it right!. I'm not sure whether these things are baked in-store or at a central facility, but that may have been a factor. Tried the scones, but they are not great. Blueberry Muffin better. read more

The food here is very good, however during their lunch rush they don't seem to be able to keep up with demand. Waiting 30 plus minutes for a sandwich and a cup of soup is pretty unacceptable. It seems they could use at least one more preparer on staff and better communication at the food window. I've worked in restaurants and there definitely was not enough communication between the cooks and the person in command at the window. Definitely need the person running the food window to command the flow and to keep the communication up. Most people would describe the flow in the kitchen to be a little chaotic. read more

This Wildflower location is clean, the service is good and the food is always really good. I also love that it has an opening to Changing Hands, one of my favorite pastimes is eating here then going around Changing Hands and looking around for a bit to walk off my meal. More often than not that leads to me buying a new book which is a win-win. My only gripe with Wildflower is that they don't serve pasta before 4pm, that is literally my only gripe. It's a gripe because they make really good pasta and sometimes I would love to have it for lunch because it's pretty heavy for dinner for me. Other than that Wildflower is basically an elevated Panera, the quality of the food is better and more consistent and the staff seems to have less turnover as well. I love Wildflower but this location has been a disappointment the last two times we've ordered to go. We ordered the avocado toast and this is how it came. The avocado was brown and there was hardly any on the bread. I ordered the Kale Caesar Salad and the portion was small (compared to other locations), there were no red peppers on my fiancés sandwich (his favorite part). I also ordered curbside, got there and texted the number and 10 minutes later and nobody brought out my order. I went inside and it was sitting on the to go counter. I just do not get the appeal of places like this. The line was long and very slow moving, with only one register open. My friend and I each had the 1/2 sandwich & soup special with iced teas. The total came to over $25!!!! The seating is so cramped, you constantly have people bumping into you. I had to send back my blt. The square orange cheese was hard and cold. The bacon was so overcooked it crumbled into dust when i touched it. They did replace the sandwich without questions and the turkey was a little better. I was at Changing Hands Bookstore during my lunch hour and remembered that Wildflower Bread Company was right next door, and thought oohh a sandwich sounds delish! After checking out the menu I went with the roast beef & gorgonzola sandwich and switched out the potato salad side for coleslaw. The sandwich is on sourdough bread and has rare cut of roast beef, gorgonzola, roasted red peppers, red onion and a tomato & herb mayo. This was an amazing sandwich!!! So dang good, like I am drooling just typing this up and must go back soon for it!! The coleslaw wasn't my favorite, but the delish sandwich made up for whatever the coleslaw was lacking. When I was ordering I noticed in the bakery display a carrot cake, OMG that's my favorite type of cake!!! So I had to get me a slice! I was at the WF in Tempe on 6/15. I ordered a Ruben. It just so happened that this Ruben would be one of the most absolutely delicious sandwiches I have ever had to-date. OMG! It was crunchy, yet juicy, creamy, yet firm, sweet, yet sour - umami at its' perfection. I ordered it with extra sauerkraut and sat at the table making all kinds of noises that are probably banded in the US! Still, I took my chances and had my way with that dirty girl... sorry, I mean sandwich. Sorry I didn't take a picture. It was so unassuming when it came to the table. Cocky of me, but I thought, "...here's just another sandwich on some brown bread." But boy was I wrong. I bit down on it and could only focus on the next bite and not my camera. Came in sometime last week and there was a nice young girl at the front register named jaylynn. I wanted to try some of the soups so she went and got me a couple different kinds. I ended up getting the BROCOLLI cheddar and can I say it was pretty good. I also got the buffalo chicken and it was to die for. Thankyou again jaylynn. Rachel helped me find my order it was a little busy in there and I didn't hear my name called. She was happy to help with a big beautiful smile and bubbly attitude. I have heard of Wildflower Bread Co. for years now, and I finally tried it out today!! Per usual I called in a take out order of their cream cheese potato soup and a rueben sandwich... First of all, I must say the gentleman that took my order was pleasant to deal with, and when I arrived to pickup my order it was all ready to go ... There were no issues with the order nor was anything forgotten ... So customer service wise I was a satisfied customer! The rueben was quite tasty, but the potato cream cheese soup that everyone raved about on yelp was only okay for me ... I loooove soup, all kinds both hot and cold and I just didn't think anything stood out about this soup ... it was really just so-so/whatever for me. Overall, for the price I believe the rueben should have been a larger portion for the price or the price point should have been a few dollars less around 7.79 rather than 9.79..... Same for the soup. My total order came to approximately $16 for the soup and sandwich, and I think that is waaay too expensive to spend on lunch. Would I return and refer others? I would return and refer others, but there was nothing exceptional about my experience here. It was very good for a chain though ... Which is why I gave it 4 stars. If you are a soup aficionado I would pass on the potato soup - it's really not worth the price for a bowl ... I've had better soup and a bigger portion for a fraction of the cost from sprouts. I would return for the rueben because it was good, but I won't ever become a regular because I think it's a bit overpriced for the portion ...
