We popped in for a nice little fancy lunch. The restaurant feels very classy. There is a lovely patio with misters, but we opted for indoor air conditioning. I had the paperdelle (they make their pasta fresh) it was fantastic! I don't usually order pasta because the portions are too big, but this was the perfect amount. We came here for the first time for our anniversary and our experience was phenomenal. Our waiter was Nat and we was wonder service. I had the mashed potatoes and the brussels which were the best I have ever had. Absolutely 5 stars all around. Came for a birthday lunch with my mom. We had Frank serve us and he was amazing, such great service even though it was pretty busy. We had the blood orange margarita which was incredible and strong and refreshing. The food is always excellent when we eat at the actual resturant, but weve be burned about 5 different times ordering from doordash. Steaks and burgers completly overcooked, small portions, missing items - out last order was supposed to come with mashed potatoes and they gave us maybe a teaspoon worth ! We were visiting from Denver and saw this on a date night list. The food was all amazing, our server was super nice and all staff was attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I do wish we had made a reservation and could've sat on the covered patio (with misters) because my only complaint was that indoors is quite noisy. We started with the Brussel sprouts which were excellent and I had the cosmopolitan spritz and my fiancé had the old fashioned. We came on half price bottle Tuesday so we had a bottle of Pinot with dinner. I had the NY strip which was cooked perfectly, super tender and amazing mashed potatoes. My fiancé had the short rib which was also amazing. We shared the banana dulce de leche dessert which was super good. Definitely recommend! Service and food were way below my expectations. I eat almost exclusively organic, and on rare occasion I want a burger. Well I wanted a burger, and when I searched "Grass fed burger" Wildflower came up. It doesn't say anything about the beef on the menu, so I asked the waiter if it was grassfed. "Um no its just whatever beef we can get..." Wow, appetizing. I chalked it up to just a new waiter and ordered the burger anyway. It came on a stale bun, so I sent it back. The bun came back a bit better, but still the burger was meh. The fries were good and crispy, but not great. The brussel sprouts were way over-seasoned in too sweet balsamic glaze, to the point you couldn't even taste the brussels. Not sure what the hype is all about, or the $30 check for mediocre food and service. read more

My allergies forced me to remove some items, but the kitchen accommodated my request and created something a little different and it was amazing. We booked a table here for a date night sans enfants. Hubby and I were excited to try a new place. We arrived and were seated out on the patio. Given that it was summer in Tucson, we were a little worried at first but there was no need. The patio is beautifully shaded with fans and misters and even with the 100 degree weather, it was very pleasant. We ordered a pitcher of the strawberry lychee sangria and started our meal off with a grilled artichoke appetizer. The sangria was good - it was light and not overly sweet so it was super refreshing. The grilled artichoke was delicious and also a great way to start the dinner. Hubby ordered the braised short rib - it was so tender that it flaked apart with a fork. The meat was incredibly flavorful that I was having order envy for sure. I ordered the pork al pastor. It was a bit pinker than I normally care for but it was seasoned beautifully and the elote corn was a perfect complement. Not to be stopped there, we HAD to try dessert. I ordered the bars of sin and hubby had the banofee trifle. The bars were so delicious, chocolately and rich. I ended up taking half home to enjoy the next day. Hubby ate the banofee trifle and probably would have licked the dish clean. I'm already planning a trip back soon! read more

We are frequenters of Wildflower... we popped in here for dessert and Irish coffees the other night a few minutes before 9, not realizing they close at 9 (is that new?). Anyhow, the gentleman behind the bar was so kind and, although we offered to come back another time, was incredibly nice and said they'd still be happy to make us the "donut" (our absolute favorite dessert!) and the Irish coffees with chantilly cream. There were still plenty of other diners at tables, so we took him up on the offer and thoroughly, quickly, enjoyed our dessert & coffee. This place never lets us down, thank you! read more

Excellent nice upscale restaurant with stylish decor, excellent service, good food and a good wine list. We were in town for a conference and celebrating presenting a paper together, this is a good choice for a special occasion like that. The short rib ravioli was good, the salmon appetizer was better. There's only just enough parking, the restaurant is in a walking mall and on a weekend night there's a lot of traffic. Still, I parked right in front. There's indoor and outdoor seating, locals may be okay with the stifling desert heat but I was happy to eat in the cool comfortable interior. The service and food is much better than the restaurant choices in the ritzy El Conquistador Hilton Resort and this place is maybe a 10 minute drive, 15 minutes if you drive like me. Next time I'm in town, I'll be back. read more

I REALLY want to be able to give them five stars, but my last visit there the service and food fell a bit short. On previous visits I have had: Lemongrass Skewered Scallops - served over "forbidden" black rice. I don't know about you, but if I see "forbidden' in the description of the dish, I'm ordering that on principal alone, but I digress. This was likely the best of the three dishes I have had there. The rice and accompanying snap peas were tossed in a tasty Asian vinaigrette and the scallops were cooked perfectly. Grilled Shrimp and Avocado bowl - same black rice, quinoa, onions, snap peas and carrotes basted in a similar Asian vinaigrette, topped with with avocado and perfectly grilled shrimp. As you can tell, some menu items have a decidedly Asian slant, but that doesn't apply to all their dishes. Two visits, so far, so good. Third visit - this is a special occasion visit so I was looking for a good glass of bourbon to start. In hindsight, I probably could have asked about a bourbon list, but our server was pretty distracted. I spot Dewars behind the bar, so I ask for that. I order the steelhead salmon, because it drew rave reviews from diners on past visits. I'm asked how I want it cooked, so I say medium. When it arrives it's charred nearly end to end and was cooked so well done that it was dry. The promised "horseradish" gratin tasted nothing like horseradish. A few chunks of sherry glazed beets are scattered on the plate did provide a pretty nice contrast. Since it was a special occasion and we are offered a free dessert. My daughter had brought a cake, so we did not need dessert, but are told we could take it to go. They bring the dessert menu. I look at the back and what do I see? A rather extensive list of bourbons! Wish I had asked. I'll go back because the first two visits proved worthy. I am hoping the third visit was an anomaly. I will be sure to ask for the bourbon list next time. read more

We visited Wildflower earlier this week for a birthday dinner with some friends. For a weeknight, later in the dinner shift, the service was shockingly slow. We waited at least an hour for our meals and the food was at best a 6.5/10. On the plus side, they did run a special where their wine bottles were half-off and that definitely made up for the long wait. Our waitress was also very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. So, overall it was somewhat pricey and the kitchen was pretty slow, but the wait staff and ambiance made up for it. read more

We came to Wildflower on any given Tuesday night with reservations and boy am I glad we made them. The place was absolutely packed for a Tuesday night. I'm not from the area so I don't know if this is what the usual crowd is like or if there was some sort of convention in town, but to stick to the safe side, I would highly recommend a reservation for any of the restaurants in this area. So the atmosphere of this place is absolutely phenomenal. It reminds me of some of the higher restaurants I've been to with an open tray ceiling, tufted booths, and open kitchen. The service is great too--with only the slight flaw of it being a little slow. For appetizers, we ordered the grilled artichoke and also the edamame potstickers. The aoli that came with the grilled artichoke was pretty good and honestly the flavor of the grilled artichoke was good too, but these artichokes simply had not meat on them. I've had artichoke appetizers with double the amount of artichoke meat on them before, but nevertheless, there were great flavors going on in the dish. The edamame potstickers were amazing. I wasn't sure how I would feel about these since I'm not the biggest fan of just fresh edamame desserts, but the puree they made was delicious and the sauce that came with this was even better. As for the entrees, we ordered the mushroom agnolotti, the sesame shrimp noodles, and the paella. Our favorite dish was by far the mushroom agnolotti. There's a bit of a truffle flavor in this, but it doesn't overpower the flavors of the other wild mushroom like the cremini. The homemade pasta on this is also phenomenal. And the butternut squash is the perfect compliment. As for the other two dishes, I can't say I felt the same. The sesame shrimp was highly recommended and it was way too sweet for me. It reminded me of a sweeter, less greasy lo mein and I really did not enjoy this dish. The paella was ok. Typically, I've had to order Paella ahead of time, however, that was not required with this one. The flavors were ok, but the rice had a texture that made the dish seem like it was cooked on a really high heat initially and then too low of a heat. Dessert at Wildflower was great. I would absolutely recommend the pineapple upside down cake (it was the seasonal option) and the key lime tart is pretty good as well. The crust on the key lime tart was a little more like a chewy shell (sorta like granola) as opposed to the crispy crunchy shell you would typically see on a key lime pie, but nevertheless, there were great flavors going on in both dishes. Also as a tip, we ordered the pineapple cake to be served with a dollop of creme fraiche on top as opposed to the vanilla gelato and it was absolutely phenomenal. Overall, dining at Wildflower is a charming experience, but make sure you order right to make sure experience stand out. read more

This has been my go-to place for bringing out of town visitors for most of the dozen years I've lived in Tucson. They let me down last night. Ordered carryout dinner for 4 with an appetizer (artichokes) 3 hours ahead of pickup time. We rolled in a few minutes before our pickup, paid for the order, and they brought out our order just a few minutes later. Our bad: we did not check to see that anything was missing. Drove back home to Oro Valley and discovered one of the entrees was MIA. Got back in the car, called them en route and were placed on hold for almost the entire drive back. Finally redialed and got through and our replacement entree was ready when we got there. They said they were going to comp us the cost of the entree, but haven't checked the credit card yet to see if they followed through. Got home 20 minutes later to a completely cold meal and had to microwave all the hot dishes. I had the smoked pork chop. Nice size portion, definitely a good choice for a hungry person. The smoke was pretty subtle, this is not like a traditional cold smoked pork chop which is almost like eating ham. The brussel sprout and squash sides were excellent. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees. I get that mistakes happen, but in this day of pandemic carryout, a missing entree is something they should not screw up. Hence the 4 stars. read more

This is an upscale lunch and dinner establishment, with premium ambiance, service and prices to match. Come and meet friends here for that long "catch up" discussion over wine you've been longing to have, or bring that date you want to impress. The outdoor seating area is especially lovely and comfortable. Reservations are recommended, but it wasn't crowded when we went for lunch early Monday afternoon. The dinner menu is very different from lunch, with a larger choice of seafood section and steak. Dinner is, I expect, a very different dining experience. We have only been here for lunch I had the fish and chips, which I thought was quite well done, with crispy fries and perfectly cooked fish. Coleslaw was the included side, and it was light and tasty without excessive dressing. My wife had the Asian Chicken salad (lunch only) and enjoyed it very much. Not fast casual (go next door to Whole Foods for that) but certainly a place for an enjoyable lunch or evening meal. read more
