This is by far the best hardware store I have been to in a long time. It reminds me of hardware stores from my hometown of Whittier in the late 70's. They greet you when you walk and are ready to help you find anything you need. I had the pleasure of meeting a fantastic older gentlemen named Norm. I asked where to locate a specialized bolt and he knew right where it was it. My brother walks in and says, I just left home depot, they didn't have the bolt I needed, he smiles and Norm helps him out. Great store, great service. read more

People are not helpful I carried 2 40lbs bag of pellets and they just stared at me customer service very poor don't go to this branch. And as I tried to check on their poopourri bottle ( by shaking ) trying to find out how full the bottles are, they are so light you'd think people are using them and bringing it back to the shelves afterwards!! read more

I have years of customer service experience in both work experience and training employees. It is my opinion that this store n33ds to train their employees in this area. This is why: 1. When I called the store to check on an order, I was immediately placed on hold by a lady, without first being asked if I could be placed on hold. I waited but eventually hung up & called back, in which a gentleman answered this time. 2. The order I placed was on an item they already had on stock, so, fairly easy order right (?). My order was placed the day before, plenty of time to confirm the item was in fact in stock. Since I hadn't heard from them, I called and they didn't seem to know what about what, took my information & said they'd call back. 3. A manager, I believe, called me back and confirmed my order & said they pulled my item for pick up. Which makes me wonder if they'd been sitting on the order & it would have taken longer, hadn't I called. 4. Upon picking up my order, a lady at the counter came across unfriendly towards me but not when another customer came in :/ Again, seemed clueless as to what to do with my order pick up. Three employees involved at this time. However, I will say that at least the gentleman who brought the order out, greeted me respectfully and was courteous. I won't shop at this particular Ace anymore. Harsh? Maybe but I expect customer service & so should everyone. I'm not picky, I only post reviews on things I feel strongly about. read more

The cover we ordered was backordered at the tine. However when it came in a couple of days later Matt delivered to us. Those of us who have tried our hand at painting are probably aware of how hard it can be to choose a paint color. Most colors can look different when you consider sunlight, Light bulb color, floor color and just the fact that you are trying to make up your mind from a 2x2 paint card. After a few wrong choices the paint dept at Aces gave me all the information I needed to finally get it right. I am so glad to have my house back in order now and who knows how many mistakes I would have made if it wasn't for Ace. Walked out to my car with me to check the sizes of bolts I needed and even gave me great suggestions to do a better job on what I was doing. Everyone there is friendly however I feel like the selection stinks. I live close by and love going places and hardware stores with my pup. But everytime I go, I can never find anything I need. I just went to get white corded, white light christmas lights for my porch and they do now sell them! All they have are all green cords or isicles. So once again didn't have what I came for. Their overall Christmas selction is also horrible. They have one fake tree and no real trees. The back elcosed outside section was very empty and had plenty of room for a better selection of holiday items or possibly real trees. It would bring a lot more sales and traffic to this location. I asked an employee if they planned on turning it into a outdoors holiday section and they don't. The young lady at the register who gave my pup a dog treat is what saved me from putting a two star, for the constant selection disappointment. She was very nice and friendly with my pup too. When you enter Ace Hardware in Wildomar, someone always greets you and will point you to where your current product need exists. If you need additional more detailed help, it is usually right there. This person knows his area well. Your chances of getting exactly what you want are outstanding, and you probably won't need to return immediately like you do at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Think how hard it is at those places to find anyone. Especially someone skilled enough to find an exact screw or nails or paint or.....Home Depot or Lowes didn't have the item I needed. But Ace Hardware in Wildomar next to the 15 fwy on Clinton Keith had exactly what I wanted. Amazon wanted 80% more($15.11 @ Ace vs $27.56 on Amazon. I saved over $12! read more

Norm Dart assisted me and walked all around to help me find each item I needed. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for and helped me make the appropriate selections. I went to Ace today to look at an umbrella stand that I found on line. I hadn't shopped at Ace in years, but remember the good service I always received when I was looking for something in particular, at the Corona store. At that time, I liked that someone greeted me; asked me what I needed and I was out the door in 5 minutes. Not so with this Wildomar store. The salesman showed me the area where the stands were and left; after I tracked him down I asked if I could see the stand. Ah, that meant opening a box. He had the nerve to ask: what do you need to see? Here's a picture and read to me what the box included. Nothing but rude! I said I saw the picture on line but I'd like to see it. He said he couldn't open a box (and no stands were on display). Interestingly some of the boxes looked like they had been opened and taped back up. He said, I can't open a box, but the manager can. So he got the manager, Tina, who nicely, obligingly, courteously, opened a box for me. I bought the stand. I told Tina that the sales rep was rude and that I said to myself as I dealt with him: I will never come here again. I got to the check out and had to ask twice for the 25% discount on one item that was offered on line and in the advertisement paper. I had to also re iterate to him that a part wasn't in the umbrella stand box, but Tina had put it separately in a bag - right next to him. Duh, pay attention. Finally, Tina carried the 26 lb stand out to the car for me. Thank you Tina. But you need to fire these 2 idiots. read more

I might have paid a little bit more for these items than I would have at Lowes but I parked 15 feet from the door and was out in 15 minutes. Great customer service. 1 small problem that I am not going to subtract stars for was that their computer would not accept my personal check. All data was entered correctly but the computer was stymied by my ancient way of paying for things. Next time I"ll bring more cash. read more

I have always liked the friendly helpful staff in this store. At one point, over this past holiday season, I met a very nice young man named Nathan. He was VERY knowledgeable about the items I would need to complete my project, and walked with me around the store to help me select the correct items. It has been nearly 3 hours and 4 other hardware stores (one was closed because it was Sunday) until a last-ditch effort I drove all the way out to Ace in Wildomar with my 6mo kid underarm. I asked for some help in plumbing and this chick with dreads cheerfully sent me "I-can-plumb-anything" old-timer Norm. I showed him my apparently impossible faucet situation and after muttering a few half-sentences hobbled up and down the isles for about 15 minutes. He came back with a few parts less than ten bucks from all over the store (including the sprinkler section) and gave me perfectly clear directions on what to do with it all when I got home. I can finally shower my kid in the bathtub. I'm thrilled. Norm can plumb anything. Thanks MacGyver. read more

I called ahead to make sure they had a specific product and the guy put me on hold, went and checked and then came back and told me "yeah, we have them in packages and sell them individually". I am not a usual Yelp user, however I feel that I need to say something to someone out loud about what I witnessed today at the Wildomar Ace Hardware. I was there around 4pm, nothing too crazy I went in for something small and I really like that this is close to my home. I got what I needed with some help from a pleasant employee on the floor who asked if I needed help finding something, which I did and he very happily showed me. Which is why I gave it 2 not 1 star. I was very pleased with my service until I got to the register, while I was being helped, the cashier next to me had an older gentleman cashing out, he seemed to be a little confused by this "round up to the dollar" fundraiser that they have going on. The older man wasn't sure what he had pressed yes to, the cashier then tells him that he pressed yes to donate and it rounds up your total to the nearest dollar and if he didn't want to donate, he could go back and the man could push no. Easy enough right? The older man said yes, as in yes I would like you to go back, the cashier then says "yes" like you want to donate and older man says no. The cashier then gets nasty and says, " Sir I am just trying to help you, do you want to donate or not, I am just trying to make sure, first you said yes, then you said no"! The older man said "I am sorry I'm 89 years old I don't really know how to use these machines"... which is understandable since its probably new technology to him. The older man seemed a little taken back by the cashiers rude attitude change. He really had a nasty, non customer service like tone with this man. The older man proceeds to walk out and the cashier then turns to the other cashier and says a nasty comment and basically makes fun of the older gentleman.... I am sorry but the older gentleman being 89 years old has some getting used to with technology, I understand that, but to have someone be that rude and snap at an elderly person, let alone any person made me want to leave my things and walk out. The sad part is I think the cashier was a supervisor. I did not want to ask to speak to the supervisor because I followed the older gentleman out and apologized for the rude employee, saying that some people just have bad days, and that sometimes the keypads are tricky for even the avid shopper like me. He laughed and got in his car. So even for the rude employee to be rude to an elderly man, who was just confused as I am sure most of them are with all these new electronics in the stores, he was also rude to a veteran, the older man had a Vietnam Vet sticker on his car as well as a MY GRANDSON IS A MARINE sticker. Not that the employee knew the older man was a vet, but I mean come on, treat everyone with respect and kindness. That makes my blood boil more than anything, he didn't have to be rude in the first place, but then to be rude to someone who has served this country, and fought for the right for you to be free was just out right disgusting. I like to shop local and give money to the community instead of the big hardware stores, but this person was just nasty and i feel like he should think twice about saying things, out loud in front of other people. It's a little unsettling to know that he was so rude to someone so nice and he just did not care to try and help the situation at all, he was rude and chose to continue being rude. I really hope that the employee, he knows who he is, understands that it's not okay, not one bit. read more
