What a beautiful winery! The indoor and outdoor spaces are huge, with two separate patios. There a two tasting bars and a gift shop. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the wines and the view. They have a food menu for dining while there. I'm sure the events here are spectacular! Apparently we needed a reservation and were told we couldn't do a tasting but could buy a glass or bottle. When we expressed to the gal behind the bar that we were from out of town, she kindly accommodated us and gave us a mini specialized tasting based on our wine likes, we then bought a bottle of the one we liked best. Win win situation. Stop by you won't regret it. read more

The food is absolutely wonderful and the wine is some of the best I've ever had! Treat yourself and make a visit to this vineyard, I give it a 5 star rating. I came down here for Father's Day weekend and I'm staying in a winery suite with my better half. It has a spectacular vineyard view and a large private patio. The suite is both homey and spa like. Whenever I have guests from out of town who want to see the finest this area has to offer, I take them to Willamette Valley Vineyards. Perched atop the hills in South Salem, this beautiful facility overlooks their estate vineyard. Off to the West, the coastal range meanders along the horizon, an idyllic setting, especially against a sunny sky. Inside the tasting room, there are multiple levels, with social distancing guidelines being applied quite well. The main floor contains the tasting rooms, a full kitchen and gift shop. They used to have the fire pit operating. Hopefully, post-Covid, things will return to normal. If you are able, climb the stairs to the second floor and then continue into the tower for a spectacular view of the vineyard and surrounding area. The patio outside also has multiple levels, with a fireplace at the far side next to some private suites, which are available for rent. In nice weather, the view from the outside patio and deck area is hard to beat. And, of course, there's the wine, which is among the best in the world. The Pinot Noirs are stellar, and the Chardonnay is excellent, too. But the wines from Griffin Creek are the ones I truly adore the most; all are spectacular. The price per bottle is on the higher end, so I don't often buy them. But when I so splurge for them, which is my favorite? It's hard to say. At the moment, probably the Cab Franc. Want something to eat while you're enjoying that fantastic wine? If you'd like a cheese plate, various other snacks, or even a full meal, the chefs at WVV really do a wonderful job. There's a reason WVV has been voted best winery numerous times. This place has everything--great wine, gourmet food, friendly knowledgeable staff, an idyllic setting, and spectacular views. I wish I could give them 6 stars. One last note: Due to the wildfires in September of this year, many vineyards in the Willamette Valley were affected by dense, toxic smoke for several days. As of the time of this review, the quality of this year's harvest is in question. Several area wineries have made it difficult for wine growers (the vineyards) to sell their product, because these wineries are unwilling or unable to honor their commitments. Jim Bernau is the exception. He not only honors his commitments, he assists some of these growers when others will not. Hats off to Mr. Bernau and the staff at WVV for having integrity. When I hear stories like this, I go out of my way to support these businesses, which is only one reason I will continue to support WVV. And you should, too. read more

Our private tour at Willamette Valley Vineyards was truly a wonderful experience. Shane was our ambassador and he brought a wealth of his own knowledge and experience to our tour and was always professional and engaging. I have been on many wine tours and this was one of my favorites. My niece was so excited that she told Shane that she was having one of the best days of her life. Beyond the actual tour, we found the winery to be beautifully maintained, enjoyed the exquisite views and the wine selections were top notch. Yesterday we were with a group of 7 tasting wine and having lunch. The experience started with Juliet Peterson introducing herself and giving my husband and I a welcome pour of wine by the fireplace as we had arrived a bit early. How wonderful! The views here to start are beautiful as far as the eye can see, and worth a patio seat if you dare to brave the elements. However, there is absolutely no AC relief to be found anywhere leaving servers to get creative with ways to keep cool in all black. It's especially hard to keep up with when ice water warms to room temp in a matter of minutes and the chilled wine tasting labels run off with condensation. It makes for either a rushed or warm tasting. Additionally, new servers are training and don't always know the wines well but are happy to find the answers to your questions. There are two tasting bar areas to walk up to, however for seating you'd fare better with reservations. They accept walk ins but are often busy, and offer overflow seating upstairs (heat rises in the summer). Reservations can be made online and will be far faster than calling. Be sure to read the details of the table you choose, some come with a specific flight at times while others allow you to choose the variety. They often fill up more than a day in advance. They offer food for either a compliment to your wine or a great dining experience. There is a brick oven for pizza, which lends to the already hot experience in the summer. But you cannot go wrong with anything you order. As a member you may enjoy 1 complimentary tasting a month for you and up to 3 others, in addition to choosing your preferred selection for delivery or pickup 3-4 times a year. Overall, your here for the wine...and the wine here is fantastic. From a tiny spot on the hill to the massive estates they are now, they have worked to make something for everyone. We had a group of 8 with 2 wine club members. The customer service was disappointingly to say the least. In most situations the winery will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and try to encourage more spending. This place doesn't do a anything extra. They must have an incredible membership that supports all of the revenue needed. The four couples all have several hundred bottles of wine at home. I can't remember when we were all together and didn't buy one bottle of wine. Thank you for the hospitality. I have no desire to come back. The food is excellent. The Mo's Event is back! And better! The $40 entry was reasonable for a welcome pour of Pinot Gris, a full glass of either Chardonnay/Pinot Gris/Estate Pinot Noir/Elton Pinot Noir/Griffin Creek Malbec,the glass to take home, live music, and a $15 credit toward a purchase of a bottle or case of wine. If you bought a case you got a free crab. The Mo's menu was reasonably priced and the chowder tasted better than what we had last month at the coast...maybe it was the setting. The crew from the coast were many of the same folks we'd seen last time the event was held at the Turner Estate, friendly and hard working. All the staff at WVV were cohesive and supportive of one another. Spence, Angie, Katlin, and Emi handled any issue that came up quickly. I brought 3 friends along to join me for the Wine Club Social followed by lunch in the member's room. The Wine Club Social was GREEEAAAT! WVV really stepped up their game! We all loved being able to sit outside and taste September's selections while nibbling on the yummy treats (we loved the fig & apricot jam!). It was warmer than we expected so some more shaded seating would have been nice. Regardless, we had a great time. My friends really enjoyed lunch along with the tasting flights in the member's room. What they appreciated the most was being able to take it all in without being harassed about becoming members. They were able to truly enjoy the whole experience. I always love visiting Willamette Valley Vineyards. The wines are excellent and the food in the restaurant is great too. Recently, we went on a Cellar tour and tasting, followed by lunch for my son's birthday. Our ambassador and tour guide Quinn, did a great job and selected really nice wines for our tour. Quinn was very knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the winery. It is fascinating learning how the wines are made and how WVV is a great steward of the land and all the sustainability programs they support. After the tour we had lunch in the fine restaurant and the food was excellent. We also left with a number of bottles of wine for later. If you ever get the chance I highly recommend doing the cellar tour, it takes about 90 minutes and it is both educational and fun! read more

This was one of the stops while we were visiting Oregon. We love wine and my husband did his research and this was one of the top vineyards to visit. From the time we walked in the doors we were impressed. You stepped into a very elegant living room with a fire pit in the middle surrounded by comfortable couches. We were led into the wine club and owners area due to availability. Sierra was the wine consultant assigned to us. She was very warm and welcoming and described each wine we tasted in detail. She made us feel very comfortable and always paid attention to us to make sure we were ok. We enjoyed our experience and will definitely visit again when we return. My only recommendation is to have sparkling available for purchase by glass. read more

On our winery tour through Willamette, we stopped at WVV and this is one of my favorites! As you drive up to the winery, the entrance and views are stunning. The main dining room is airy and elegant. Although the focus was on the wine, the food was excellent! Of the six wines from the reserve flight, I thought two of them were worth while. The Elton Noir and Griffin Tempranillo were both 5 star wines. Our host Paige served the Tempranillo in two different glasses and it vastly changed the profile which blew our minds! Back to the food I mentioned, we were told WVV had one of the best burger ever and this recommendation did not disappoint! Wow! This is in my top 5 burgers of all time. The flavor and seasoning of this burger were so on point. The proportions and combination of textures and flavors was perfect.
