Williams has a simple dining area that does not seat tables more than four easily and this place gets packed for lunch. Place your order at the counter, get a number, find a seat and your food will come to the table. You will find sandwiches, wraps, burgers, soups and salads on the menu. Stopped here for lunch on the way to the RDU airport on our way back to California! Delightful! Seems to be a chain but it's not! I got the turkey Reuben Wednesday special and modified it a little bit. That was no problem! The sandwich was full of flavor and very filling for $6.99. My mom and sister both got the Perfect Pair dish with half and half sandwich and salad. One was chicken salad sandwich and Caesar salad and the other was a honey ham sandwich and southwest salad. There was plenty of food for them too! We came around 1:30 and it seemed to be on the thick of a lunch rush despite being later! We had no trouble, as we walked right in and ordered!! Whenever I open up my Yelp App at home, William's Gourmet Kitchen comes up as a place "my friends recommend", so it's a tad embarrassing that it's taken me so long to get over there AND I'm kicking myself that I didn't discover it sooner! I visited William's recently on a weekday for breakfast and ordered the southwest burrito (hold the cheese). It's served with a side of mild salsa and is completely delicious. Filled with sausage, hash browns, eggs and some veggies, and topped with hot sauce found on every table: voila! I will definitely return to William's Gourmet Kitchen when I'm not in the breakfast cooking mood but need something delicious and fast! They also have 5-6 different kinds of coffee and seemed to seriously consider my request for almond milk in the future (customer service was stellar!) I didn't know what to expect when a friend and I ate lunch here a few weeks ago. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The staff was extremely friendly. I got the avocado burger and sweet potato fries (which appear in my dreams since then...omgsogood!). My friend got a turkey sandwich and half salad combo. Finally decided to drop by this place after years of driving by. Looking for a breakfast joint that wasn't a chain and this seemed to fit the bill. It's a nice, bright, open space. You order at the counter and they give you a number to place at your table. The service was very nice. Maybe not the newest and shiniest space, but fits the atmosphere of a casual restaurant. They do breakfast thru dinner. Ordered the farmer's platter to get a good sample of their food. Was pleasantly surprised by the portion and first bites. Although you only get one pancake, its diameter is larger than a knife. Happy to see 3-4 full strips of bacon and sausage links. Sausage cooked through and just right with a bit of a snap. Then tried the hash which surprisingly came out as nuggets. So less "scattered" like Waffle House and more "nugget" like McDonalds. It was good and gave it a nice crunch. Bacon was also crispy without being burnt. Sadly the last two parts of the meal failed to sustain the flavors and pleasing texture of the first part of the meal. The eggs were bland and more chewy. Every week, me & my beau have a date night. Each week, we take turns picking places that we want to eat at. This week was my turn so I picked this place due to the reviews on Yelp. I got a perfect pair because I was so unsure what to get. I got the gouda ham sandwich & a cup of potato soup. YUMMY. Both were very good. I had a happy plate at the end of the meal. I liked that the sandwich had spicy mustard on it. I don't think it had mayo so that made me happy. My beau got the original philly cheesecake with beer battered fries. I ordered a burger med well with the special sauce "ON THE SIDE" add mayo, mustard, ketchup. Was told that is what the special sauce was a mixture of. Decided to go to Williams for lunch today with some coworkers. It's been a hectic week so we needed some time away form the office. We got there around 11:38AM which is probably the best time because lines were pretty short when we got here. Some people in our party got to order right away. Food-wise, they have a pretty amazing selection. I recently went vegetarian so I got the Veggie Club Sandwich, no cheese (I found out recently that I was lactose intolerant). I love a sandwich with alfalfa sprouts. I think the only other place that has that is Jimmy Johns. The cucumbers were fresh and crunchy. The bread itself was kind of dry. That was probably my biggest thing against it. It said in their menu that the bread is sun dried tomato basil but I couldn't really tell that just from tasting it. They also added too much mayonnaise. The worst thing is a mouthful of only bread and mayonnaise. We had 6 people so we grabbed a booth and just dragged a circular table to the end of it so it was kind of awkward for some people. Also, they have a unique way of handling group orders. Basically, everyone orders first and then after that do you actually starting paying. Just a heads up since I don't remember doing that in the past. read more

I am absolutely in love with this place! It is hands down my favorite place to get lunch from during the workweek. I've had lunch there 6 times now -- sat outside on the patio twice, inside three times, and the other time we ordered in for lunch for an office meeting. I took my Dad there for lunch when he was passing through town. He loved it just as much as I did and even declared that it was the best chicken sandwich he'd ever had! They have great lunch specials in terms of sandwich, soup, and other offerings, but I stick with the "perfect pair" which lets you choose from half a sandwich, a cup of soup, or half salad and a drink for $7.99. My fave is the Honey Ham Sandwich which is made up of Honey Ham with Swiss cheese, honey dijon mustard, lettuce, tomato & onion on thick-cut sourdough bread. I always get mine without the LTO and it suits me quite well since ham sandwiches have always been my favorite. That bread is so fresh too! I get it with the Strawberry Pecan Salad which is made with mixed greens, onions, cucumbers, strawberries, blue cheese crumbles, craisins & candied pecans and your choice of dressing. I always get raspberry vinaigrette with it and it's sooo good. When we ordered in for a working lunch my coworkers each got salads and they were huge! Everyone was very happy that I convinced them to order from William's. I also ordered two Red Velvet cupcakes as a treat for my coworker's birthday. Amazingly enough they were only $2 apiece. And oh so tasty with that cream cheese icing... Once you place your order you take a number and sit down wherever you like. Then someone brings your food out, but the service doesn't end there. I like this place! I've tried two of their items and there are more I want to get to. The first thing I've had is the veggie burger. Now, it didn't knock my socks off but it was respectable. No cumin, curry or Mexican style spices. It was a decent size and didn't fall apart. It comes with avocado spread but it was very thinly applied so it definitely needed some more. Cheese would be good too. The second thing I've tried was the California club. This is my favorite so far. Loved the flavor combinations of turkey, bacon, avocado, sprouts etc. I would not hesitate to order this again though I have designs on a lot of other items. I've only ever had my orders to go, but always find the takeout to be good. The food does take about 15 minutes to make and comes out nice and hot. They offer online ordering, but I think it's easier to call in because the online system doesn't list all the possible options the restaurant offers. The food options here are vast, it's unlikely you won't find something you'll like! For breakfast I really like the sandwiches, I prefer it on a croissant. They can put it on a bagel too if you like, although they won't tell you that outright. The croissant is nice and flaky, bacon is crispy, sausage pattys are juicy, cheese is melty/gooey. The grits are surprisingly good too. It's not the cheapest option around especially with so many fast food joints around but I think it's worth it! read more

I decided to give it a try again today for a late lunch @ 1pm. I wanted something light and the previous reviews raved about the salads. So...being the metrosexual man I am, I confidently ordered the half and half deal (pick 2 of either the half sandwich, half salad or soup) which comes with a drink all for $7.85 incl. tax. Brilliantly cheap. I ordered the garden salad with the loaded potato soup. Here's my take. The salad was really good - it had a good fresh mix of beet greens, butter and romaine lettuce as well as spinach. It also came with red onions, cherry tomatoes (cut in half), almond slivers, cucumbers, croutons and what looked to be a shredded cheese mix. The balsamic vinaigrette complemented the salad nicely along with some basic saltine crackers. The soup was good too and came with croutons and the same shredded cheese mix as the salad on top. It was hearty and creamy with big chunks of potato in it...kind of nice for a cold overcast windy day like today. The portion size was perfect and I finished everything without going overboard. Good fresh ingredients would characterize this meal. Nothing extraordinary - but nothing terrible. The service was fast (prolly b/c I just missed the lunch crowd) and I was in/out the door within 30 minutes - I ordered, sat, received the meal and relaxed a bit surfing the free Wi-Fi. Choice-wise, I found the menu a bit lacking if you're a vegetarian - they offer 4 salads (garden, Greek, Caesar and a special) and a veggie wrap from what I quickly saw off the menu. Else, the burgers and chicken sandwiches looked good for the meatatarians. Sweet and regular potato fries for $1.79 and $2.49 (?) I believe. There are 3 standard soups (e.g., loaded potato, broccoli and cheese...) plus a soup du jour (they didn't have any today). Desserts look pretty standard (cookies and they also have a red velvet cupcake) - although I showed restraint and decided to forgo that portion of the meal. The breakfast menu looks intriguing and I might have to come back to try it out if I'm in the neighborhood. Otherwise, a good experience and I would definitely come back. They offer up good, quick and healthy meals here. If you can miss the RTP lunch crowds, it can be super quick. I also noticed that they offer a happy hour from 2-4pm for 99 cent drinks (non-alcoholic). This is really a borderline 4 stars - maybe more like 3.75 stars - but still worthy of another visit. Given the choice, I would prolly rather choose Cafe Meridian over WGK for creativity and variety....but if i wanted something simple and quick (e.g., their hot fries)...I'd definitely come here. read more

I had passed by it before & not really thought twice about it because of its fastfood-y looking exterior. But upon reading the reviews I decided it sounded like just what we were looking for. We showed up around 11:45am & didn't have to wait long to order. There were so many fabulous sounding things on the menu that we were both super excited to get our food by the time we ordered. The average price for a meal with fries and a drink was around $9, so it wasn't super cheap, but very reasonable for what we got. The food came fairly quickly & was great! There was nice artwork on the walls and things looked pretty clean & well kept, but I couldn't shake the (upscale) fast food feeling due to the order counter and drive through window. I have no qualms with fast food, though, & we weren't there to have a long sit down, so it was just fine. All in all it was just what we were looking for and we were very satisfied with our experience! I look forward to checking out other things on the menu in the future! We'd been here once before and appreciated that they have a nice variety. For our second visit, we stopped on the way to the airport. The Big BLT was perfect and yummy. The chicken and dumplings was tasty tho I didn't get any dumplings and there and a giant Bay leaf in my soup. Still tasty tho. Hubby ordered a medium rare burger with grilled mushrooms and onions and it came very rare. They fixed it relatively quick and gave him hot fresh fries when it returned. Service was friendly too. It was really nice to find a place a little higher scale than fast food close to my law school. My friend and I went around lunchtime and it was absolutely packed. We had to circle the entire building to find a spot to park. When we got inside the line was pretty long, but moved quickly. The outdoor seating was full, but we managed to find a spot inside. I ordered the smothered bbq chicken breast sandwich on ciabatta with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was SO messy and uncut, but it was very yummy. The fries were just "ok", not as good as crispy as I like, and they came with a cinnamon dipping sauce. I really wish I would have tried the mushroom soup of the day. My friend got a club sandwich on ciabatta and potato salad. She is a potato-salad-eating-fool and found Will's potato salad to be a little rich.
