    Carboni Plumbing & Heating

    Carboni Plumbing & Heating

Bob Laudette, owner of James Carboni Plumbing and Heating…read morefor over 33 years, was negligent in fulfilling his contract upon the installation of the furnace on December 3, 2019.  "ALL WORK WILL BE PERFORMED IN A NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND WILL MEET OR EXCEED ALL STATE AND LOCAL CODES."   Obviously he did not inspect the installation of the project on December 3 or he was not up to date on building codes.  The building inspector gave him 3 citations for code violations. The chimney clean out door was cemented ..a potential fire hazard. Contrary to Bob Laudette's explanation, the chimney was serviced prior to installation and given a stamp of approval!  The oil line was not protected properly and would cause a major oil leak if someone tripped over it and dislodged it; the duct work/ bonnet was installed with major gaps heating the basement to over 90 degrees. Besides the citations for code violations, Bob Laudette has ignored issues with the furnace and units: combustion issues with small explosions, malfunctioning humidifier, blower so powerful it rattles doors, oil leaks, filters to keep the blower working properly and to insure quality of inside air malfunctioning, extensive dust, uniform distribution of heat is deplorable with the basement heated at 90 degrees and the upstairs rooms are cold. All this for $7500? Now Bob Laudette wants to come and service the new furnace three months later after he ignored numerous calls in January and in fact cancelled a service call. At that point, I had to call reputable and licensed contractors to check out the furnace but the problems still persist. I contacted other agencies for help.  Consumer Protection who has limited authority suggested I pursue legal representation.  My mother, Amelia Wakely, expected and paid for what she thought was an up to date working oil furnace. Why would anyone keep a lemon; deal with a company who fails to treat a client in a professional manner or not at all; who does substandard work and delivers a defective product and writes they have a great business ethic!  Could Bob Laudette possibly service the furnace in the future if he can't deliver an up to date American Standard working furnace now? My mother wants her money returned, the furnace and so forth removed, and the mess they left cleaned up. Bob Laudette did not install a system free of charge out of the goodness of his heart. Lastly, my mother's health living under these conditions has deteriorated since the furnace was installed December 3,2019 . With the pandemic, the directive now is to shelter in the safety and comfort of your home. The safety of her home is a health hazard. How insensitive Bob Laudette is to suggest this is a frivolous matter! Hopefully our experience will save someone from grief in the future! Photos supplied upon request!

Queen Bee used to have exemplary customer service and great field staff. I used them exclusively for the last 10 or so years. However, the last time I called for oil, I was promised that they would be there on Friday. No show. On Saturday I ran out of oil. I used 5 gals of diesel to get going. I called on Saturday, was told it would be a $100 charge for an emergency delivery. I pointed out that it wouldn't be an emergency if they delivered when they said they would. I'm not paying that fee; I added more diesel and waited for Monday. Monday comes and goes; again - no show. Tuesday I'm told that they will deliver today for sure. Again, NO SHOW. I finally get them Wednesday, and the person on the phone (new person every time I call) says, "Oh no, we were out there Saturday and we could only get a few gallons into the tank; you are already full. We will have to charge you the emergency fee and a service fee." I told her that was impossible as I ran out and the gage shows no oil. She then tells me that gauges don't always work and infers that I'm a liar to get out from the fee. I came utterly unglued at that point. I will spare you my hysterics on the phone, but a Long story short (or shorter) THEY DELIVERED TO THE WRONG HOUSE!!!! Once light dawned over Marble Head - she rescheduled my delivery. Still took two more days of no-show before I finally got my delivery. Then, THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME FOR THE 6 GALLONS THEY DELIVERED TO THE WRONG HOUSE!!!! My wife asked our family doctor to sedate me at that point; she honestly thought I was going to have a stroke. WORST OIL COMPANY EVER. Plus they screwed up my bill, and it took them several months to invoice me correctly. I wouldn't trust them with directions to the men's room, let alone my heat. One can only hope that the screw-ups I talked to last year are now exploring options in the wonderful world of fast-food service. Because as an oil company they totally suck. The market drives price; my mom can deliver cheap heating oil better than this company can, and she's been dead 15 years. I'll gladly pay their competition double just to never again deal with this ridiculous group. If you haven't caught on yet; I don't like them. Save yourself - buy elsewhere....

Currie's technician reported that he found a Crack in the heat exchanger - a dangerous situation, leading us on a wild goose chase to find an honest (!) Dependable company to fix the situation. Nearly impossible. Quotes were all over the place. Millas looked at the FILTER to give us a quote. Is that a joke??? Finally did find a good company who demonstrated that Currie's could NOT have seen a cracked heat exchanger since the original tape was still in place!!! Don't trust them

I recently moved into this house and they were very kind in answering some questions I had. I called again because my HVAC system wasn't cooling my house suddenly. The owner answered and said all of their technicians were booked for the day, but instead of leaving me hanging for the weekend he asked a few questions and realized that he had installed the HVAC in this home. He walked me through a few steps to get the system back up and running. He was very kind and determined to help, and it worked. He didn't charge for the help which would have totaled around $200. New lifelong customer here! Thank you, Mr. Currie and crew for your help!
