Walked in and did not realize I'd be ordering and then sitting down. Was here with 2 senior friends. I forgot to take pictures. I had the Bacon Willie with pepper jack , medium with well done tots. It was excellent. Also opted for a chocolate shake which was made better by the preparer putting extra chocolate sauce around the inside of the cup!! Tender bites and fries looked great, stole a tender and it was very good. Not too greasy and just the right amount of breading. Did NOT try the fries but they looked solid. Finally the shrimp Po-boy was RAVED about and was super large so that someone had leftover for dinner. Said it was amongst the best she had ever had. On one of my unusual trips to KYLE, my friends wanted to go out to lunch and suggested Willie's. I kind of struggled with that because I don't eat fast food. Well I was so surprised that this is definitely not your average fast food burger joint. Our server David, and manager (sorry, old age memory, but she was great) were attentive and accommodating to my needs. I am 76 years old and really enjoy small portions and small drinks. The menu has choices for everyone. Catfish fried, hush puppies, onion rings to die for, custom burgers and crispy French frIes. I ordered the mini corn dogs with french fries and a small soda from the kids menu. What a treat! I asked the manager if Southpark Meadows in South Austin might be a future home for Willie's. This was our second time at Willies. I ordered brisket tacos(2) they were good . His catfish was overcooked and very small portions. He got FF's with it did not taste the fish, but he gave a fry to me "taste it" very dry and not hot, a warm dry fry. Appetizer was the best, onion rings. The tea unsweetened and sweet we not on par both glasses , the tea was cloudy and old tasting . My wife and I have averaged eating at the Willie's in Kyle two times a week since the Restaurant has been opened. I always go through the line and place our order and she takes a seat at a table. I was recently advised that all customers must go through the line before taking a table. I spoke with a manager and he said that had been their policy starting five days prior. I contacted Mary Cervantes Willie's DO and she told me that was their policy and if someone had a special need to contact a manager and they would seat the person. I often have orders for six people and just do not they should have to stand in line while I place the orders. read more

Went there about 2pm to check it out. Food is extremely expensive. We just got the Nacho's and a couple beers. DO NOT GET THEM. They were the worst we have EVER had. Basically chips with Queso. No beans or sides like quacamole. They were delivered to our table cold. Manager did refund us and we may try them again. Another reason we were not impressed was you stand in line to order and they bring your food to you and then ask for a tip. FOR WHAT? Another note when we complained about the nachos, they were rude. Each time we go in we have a free appetizer, not once have we been able to use it cause they run the card with the free appetizer but then they accidentally put a different item on the bill then delete the free we end of paying for an appetizer that was supposed to be free 3 times! I can understand 1 mistake but 3!! I feel like it's scam and I will not return or even recommend this place. read more

First and last time I will go to Willie's. Custer are last- it is all about the asst manager Tonight was the first time that I had been to Willie's in Kyle or any Willie's restaurant for that matter. It was a terrible experience. The ladies behind the bar did not know what they had in stock or how much any of the specials were on the menu. I had to ask three times for limes. When we did finally get a bartender to take our order, we ordered a crab boil and burger patties. The patties came out and my husband ate both and still no word on my crab boil. We asked twice to see were it was to finally be told after 50 minutes that the cook had come out and asked the bartender if we still wanted the crab boil. She told us this and then said she would go find out where it was, but a while later still no crab boil. At this point we asked to speak to a manger and canceled the crab boil. A VERY young assistant manager came over and asked what was wrong. Not once did he say he was sorry about the missing food or he was sorry that we were waiting. And he even knew how long we had been waiting. Instead he started in with a laundry list of issue they had in the restaurant. First the server were giving away the crab boil to the wrong tables and apparently this happened multiple times with my food. He had to do several jobs in the back of the house and it was a lot of jobs that he himself was having to do, then it was that he was having to get the food together and he had to make sure that the orders were going out right. (Again no I am so sorry your food was messed up). When I stopped him and said you are giving a lot of excuses about what YOU ARE HAVING TO DO but not saying how you are going to fix it, he said we had not gotten to that part. At this point we were done. You could definitely tell it was all about him and not the customer. At this point for some strange reason he asked if we spoke Spanish. Smh. Don't get that one. When we asked for his manager he said she was on maternity leave. So advice for this restaurant, Your 20 something asst manager just lost you a lot of business. Our ticket is typically over $100 each time we go out to eat and I will not be back to this restaurant. Your manager needs to go to training on 101 customer service. When he walked away he actually rolled his eyes. If this is how you treat your customers, I will not be back.
