This Willie's Grill and Icehouse location is a big part of why they are successful and always (seemingly) busy! Located right off of IH 35 South you can find Willie's as a great spot to pop in, have a hearty meal, and maybe have a margarita or two (they are $5!) before you get back on the road to head home or further south Texas HWY 35. We came here with a big ol' group of 10+ to celebrate a birthday. We found plenty of seating, in the back covered patio + fans and A/C pumping through, for our entire group without any issues. Even though the concept of Willie's is to order then find seating we had to secure seating before we made any orders and choices on food just to make sure we had a central place for our party. Staff was super friendly to help us find a good big spot for our group so I appreciated that. The food menu here ranges so wide and there is literally a dish for everyone. From seafood, burgers, sirloin steaks, fresh salads, and beers and cocktails on menu you will find something you are in the mood for or just prefer to have as your meal for the day/night. Service here is exceptional. You have a dedicated server to you for your entire eating and drinking experience. They will provide you additional foods or another round of drinks without you having to get back up, go get in line at the front of the place, and place your order. That is probably my favorite thing about Willie's is the service style they have here. There is unlimited amount of options you have after you placed your initial order at the entrance. Everything is taken care for you, brought out for you, and you will get the bill at the end of your meal/time. Plenty of parking and secure spots outside. We had a great afternoon at Willie's watching football games! Very accommodating on changing the channels to the games we wanted. Ayden, Sidney and Ian were great! I've never been to a Willie's that had a full service bar! I wish there were more locations like this! read more

My Mother and I wanted chicken fried Steaks on our way to New Braunfels, so we stopped here, I have been here before for some good crawfish. On this visit, after taking a bite of the Chicken Fried Steak (CFS) I thought it tasted a bit "off", got notes of strong acidity, and almost a citrus taste. I figured must be from the coleslaw I just took a bite of... tried 2 more bites of the CFS and it was definitely the steak, I could not eat another bite. My Mom mentioned that hers tasted funny, I instantly agreed. We told the waitress and she sent what I assume was the manager (seemed around 23 years old at the most) we told him what was wrong, but I couldn't identify/explain what it tasted like to him. sent the meat back (I have NEVER sent back a plate) and he replaced it with Chicken Fried Chicken, which neither of us wanted, but we waited 20 minutes for it, by then our sides were either gone or cold. There we had a plate with nothing but a Chicken Fried Chicken on it, we took 2 or 3 bites (not at all hungry anymore) They still charged us full price ($38) to serve us something we did not want, and after a horrible experience with the steak. Don't think I will return to any of these places anytime soon... In the evening I started thinking the flavor was sort of like they marinated it in Butter milk but it either sat in it too long or the butter milk was rancid! I really like Willie's after having been to other locations. I was super excited for one to open in Kyle! I'm gonna be honest and say that I was disappointed that ours didn't include a sand box like some of the others. My family LOVES the food here. We usually end up with seafood, tacos and the mini corndogs for my youngest. The frozen drinks are surprisingly stout and the prices are fair all the way around. If you sign up for the app, you'll get little promos here and there. Overall it's an easy choice for a family who all has different favorites. read more

Ayden was just absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. Our drinks stayed full, the food came out exactly right, and he checked in without being overbearing. You can tell he genuinely cares about giving great service and making guests feel welcome. Great service, kind staff, but man...... the crawfish here is not good. Super wet, the flavor is gone -- if there even was any flavor. I will say, I appreciate the cheap price of 10.99 a pound and comes with the corn and potatoes. Again, the corn and potatoes are tough and have no flavor. Stopped by for lunch it was prime lunch time and not crowded. Stepped right up to order, Patty melt and a Classic burger Bacon Willie with fries on both. Grabbed our drinks and headed to a table . Our burgers came out in a timely fashion. Both were cooked to well fine but juicy. Well seasoned and hot . The onions on the patty melt could have been cooked longer - they were still firm. The bread was well buttered with nice flavor. The fries well done - perfectly fried , with just a little seasoning on them . The bacon Willie burger was also cooked well , good flavor, enough bacon . I had a great experience at this location. Is very casual, bar setting, with confront food. The drink menu is diverse and good pricing! You place order at the front, choose your own table & have a waiter who checks in occasionally. Waiter could've been more attentive but he tried his best! The food was perfect. First and last time ever!! The whole experience was awful. We waited 10 minutes before anybody approached our table. The Chicken fried steak was over cooked, the mashed potatoes had no flavor and can tell these came out a box. The street corn had to be from the day before. Stellar visit to Willie's. Loved the menu variety and prices. $13 Fried Chicken Cobb Salad was excellent. Server Landon nailed it. I observed the staff as very attentive to all guests. Two small things Landon got right togo box was delivered with a take out bag and brought a small lid for the salad dressing. Normally would have to ask for both of those.
