Willie's always hits the spot. This location is in a great area right off the 35 in Schertz. The fried onion bites are a great appetizer and it's actually a big portion. I like these better than good old fashioned onion rings as they are easier to eat and tender. The Ribeye tacos were pretty good and they had a good spicy kick from the sauce. Ordered a regular burger. Food was hot, fresh and fast. Our waiter checked on us frequently. Their fries were well seasoned which I enjoyed. The burger was a good size it has decent flavor but nothing that I would have to have. It's good choice when in a hurry and dont want to eat drive through/fast food. My daughters ate the honey hot chicken and thr buffalo chicken sandwhich. Both chicken sandwiches were well portions. And they both really enjoyed their meals. This was my first time trying this place and I was pretty pleased. It was really nice to order first because it feels like you get your food faster. The waiters were very attentive and kind. I would rate this a 3/10, but i can't. I ordered the snow crab boil, but when it arrived after 50 minutes, it was cold. It had a very slight heat to it, like it was sitting out for an hour. My mom also ordered a boil, but she ordered the shrimp boil. She said it wasn't cold, but that they had given her the extra spicy seasoning instead of traditional. Now to the service ; not good. This is our favorite Willie's! Tonight was no exception I had crawfish and they came out steaming hot with a lot of seasoning, margaritas where frozen and oh so good. My wife had a cheese burger with Tatar toys and once she got her mustard it was a hit. Sabrina was our waitress and did a great job. We live n New Braunfels, but come to this location because of food quality and service. Only draw back tonight was the influx of teenagers that came in. Before it gets more out of control I might recommend placing a policy in effect that no one under 17 years of age without an accompany adult not be permitted. The single stack burger, at just $8.99 with a side and drink, is more akin to a smash burger, and was served over cooked and lacking flavor. Sadly, the condiments and veg did the heavy lifting. Where the beef was overcooked, the onion rings were under done... colorless, soggy batter surrounding a nearly raw onion. The rings are an additional .99 cent charge... stick with the fresh fries that are included with the burger. Join the rewards club for some good freebies. The burgers are good with a decent variety. My wife really likes the coastal catch shrimp, and I've enjoyed the seafood platter as well. The gumbo wasn't my style but it still tasted good. The Willie Wonka dessert is delicious and you should get it at least once. The Frozen Jack and Coke is another nice touch. read more

The texture was the wrong kind of chewy. The fries were really good! Seasoned and crispy. The service wasn't the best, it was upsetting they brought out a salad to our table but not silverware. I was quite impressed with the quality of food at Willie's Grill and Icehouse in Schertz, TX. I usually avoid chains and was a bit wary when family members suggested this place to eat. But, I really enjoyed the grilled Redfish and loaded baked potato that I had for dinner. The Karbach Hopadillo IPA hit the spot too. Our servers were really friendly, efficient and the food was served hot and quickly. They really nice people through the restaurant quickly. Well, it's been 2 years since my mediocre meal here. A few people mentioned that they liked it so I decided to try it again. I confirmed that I don't care for this place. First, I don't like ordering at the counter before sitting. I feel rushed to decide what I want as people are waiting behind me. I much prefer to sit down with a menu. I kept it simple and ordered a cheeseburger with fries. That's what you order when you feel rushed. My wife ordered a salad. Both were mediocre. My fries were pretty good. We had lunch with here on a weekend and it was great. It was pretty packed inside, but we got seated quickly. The waitress was very attentive and kept checking on often. It was very hot but there are also seats and tables outside for when the weather cools off. There is a bar an many TVs all around the restaurant. They had various sports games playing at the time. My kids enjoy the chicken tenders and cheeseburger. The drinks are self-serve at the front counter, but the waitress can also fill them up if the there is a line.
