Best night of the week. Wednesdays, One Cord Wonders - DJ Nixbeat. Chill and fun atmosphere with drinks. My favorite midweek date night.

It's a small, divey bar with low ceilings and dim lighting. The lounge was fun and upbeat. We came for karaoke. Locals clearly go here but we tried to blend in. Drinks are super affordable and a generous pour. They have a cash price and a credit card price. Highly recommended! read more

Small and intimate playing Cypress Hill on the jukebox. If you like beer you can order 4 for $10. They give you a pint and three tokens so the draft is fresh every pour. Big Willie's is right across the street so you can order food from Big Willie's and they will deliver your food with a big smile and extra Fry sauce. You can call in your order. There is an app but not sure if you can order food from it. If you order food to be delivered, break it off for them with a $10 spot at least, just sayin'. We're play playing a league tournament and everyone is having a good time, win or lose. I like this little spot. Big industrial sized Golden Tee, big screen TVs showing sports and they do Karaoke! Come here for pool and a drink on Saturdays and we e always had a good time. Not terribly crowded on Saturday afternoon, so plenty of space for pool and the bartenders are ready to serve and pour a good drink. read more

When I first moved to Salt Lake City this summer I was looking for a Karaoke bar where I would feel comfortable. At first glance this bar looked a little rough around the edges. I was concerned that I might end up on the wrong side of a pool stick - but I was dead wrong. This place rocks. The drinks are cheap, the staff is great, the patrons are incredibly friendly and the Karaoke is loads of fun. My only complaint is that the sound system isn't always the best. Sometimes it's hard to hear the music when you're singing. Also, the monitor with the lyrics is against the wall putting the singers back to most of the people in the room. Perhaps a second monitor on the opposite wall would be a good solution to that issue. Otherwise, this place is a lot of fun and certainly worth visiting - especially if you like singing, drinking cheap beer and enjoy a friendly crowd. read more

Im in Utah right now visiting my uncle and I was curious as to how the bar scene was out here considering all the Mormons and the hatred of alcohol out here and this place rocks! Better than any bar I've been to. They have the best prices of any bar I've been to and I lived in Cali for a bit and now Vegas and this place beats both. AMazing. I can't go anywhere else for a craft beer for 3$ or a cape cod for 3$. Love it. read more

Not so much of a divey bar, but a divey club. Dance floor is pretty small, drinks are super cheap and the atmosphere is super loud! Guess the music didn't help either but you pretty much have to yell across the room to talk to the person in front of you. There was a good turn out for a Wednesday night in Utah. Would I come back here again ..... Hmm ..... maybe for a cheap night out where I don't feel like dressing up and just want to dance like no one is watching. As a brown man, I never once felt out of place or disregarded. The regulars are kind, the youth scene is present. They are constantly making sure you are tended to and do not hesitate to make you the cocktail of your choice. Games, music and comradary. You need proof? After a week of showing up, they not only knew my name but what car I drove and offered driving services when I needed it. Previously I had given this place a 5 star review. Recently the owner decided to start doing their own karaoke. Probably thinking they would save money. They have an incredibly horrible song list now, that is unless you want to sing a song by the mormon tabernacle choir. In that case there are two songs to choose from by them. For example, they do not have Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond, Creep by Radiohead, or any song green day or weezer. I know not everyone sings those songs. Check on their website to see if your song is even available. They have a pdf with the songs on it. Might save you a drive and a wasted night. Owner, if you are reading this, please just get a karaoke company like Rockstar Karaoke to do this. That, or lose a lot of customers. Willie's Lounge is a great place to go if you want to feel unsafe, receive poor service, or both. Located in a "bad" part of town, there is a lot of crime around this area and you won't feel safe. This is not a good place to let your guard down or to lose any sense of awareness. Aside from the musty atmosphere and cheap drinks, this place has very little to offer someone who is looking for a fun night out. If you have money to spend and want to go to a quality SLC dive, I'd recommend checking out The Jackalope or X-Wives place. These establishments are quality with that low-key vibe you're looking for, as well as located in much safer and friendlier parts of town. Do yourself a favor, stay away. read more

Pluses: Cheap drinks, close proximity to two other bars/a few restaurants, no assumptions/judging about what you look like, sports on TV Minuses: Pretty much everything else. Especially the bathrooms. What can I say, I'm a sucker for dives. Don't go here expecting anything other than a cheap quick drunken stupor. My first visit to Willies was an Epic success!! I ended up here on a Saturday night by random happenstance and I'm super glad I did. The bar is a total dive with hipsters O plenty. We were looking for Karaoke and Karaoke we found. The KJ was nice her equipment not so much! Oh well we pretty much had the microphones to ourselves and a captive audience. The rare occasion someone outside of our group did sing the song choices were very tolerable. No achy breaky heart here. The beer was cheap and so were the woman, with a handful of roller derby girls up dirty dancing on the tables. Bathroom was a single stall but it was clean so I can deal with the wait. If I find myself in SLC again looking for Karaoke I will most def be back! read more

Saturday night and place is dead. They had karaoke, goodie. 2 pool tables and random games spread thru out. Pro: drinks are cheap. Con: don't order food from across the street. Portions are ridiculously small. I mentioned this to the older bartender lady and she said well there should have been 14 tater tots. WTF? Who counts out food? Well we got 10 at most, 10 tater balls, and 6 jalapeneos for 22 bucks! We were expecting more but very disappointed. Would i go back? Never. read more

Came to Willie's this week for our first ever Geeks Who Drink trivia night. It was a lot of fun! The other patrons were very friendly and the drinks were very cheap. We met the owner, and he was super nice! Also, WE WERE THE TRIVIA CHAMPIONS! First place. In trivia. This victory probably confirms your suspicions that I am a genius, dear reader. MINE TOO! Service is great, staff is great, owner is great. I think this is a good place to come with your buddies, and they let you order outside food and have it delivered there. The owner did a drink special for us. These factors make me love this place if you are just coming to hang out with a few friends. I've been here for trivia and karaoke. The sound system is not very good and there isn't much of a designated space. The PA is shoved in one corner (I'm comparing to VFW for karaoke and Green Pig for trivia). The management was very kindly accommodating by letting us reserve a table for karaoke but our group had a hard time enjoying the karaoke because our table was on the far side (next to the bar) and the karaoke area was at the other end of the room. We couldn't hear our friends (or even see them without a clearing or platform) enough to cheer them on. I will be back to hang out but not for karaoke or trivia. read more

We have had a lot of fun here. Very dive, but what we are sometimes looking for in a night. The bartender, Todd, is one of the best in SLC. The jukebox has a great selection too. The only downside is if you run into the ever-drunk Wolfman. He is a bit of a trip, so keep your distance if you see a large old hippie in tie-die. read more

I am and have been a regular patron of this bar for a couple of years, going in a couple of times a week with my husband for trivia, bingo, karaoke etc. The staff of this bar are some of the most amazing I have encountered in my near 20 years of bar patronage.
