Great selection of items. Good atmosphere. Heard the pizza was good. Doesn't compare to some of the more popular New Haven pizza places but a great option when in the area. Beer and wine options were just ok. Service was great. Very attentive and food comes quick.

Custom small pizza: sausage, green peppers, red onions and ricotta cheese

A surprisingly solid pizza from a small hole in the wall shop. Ordered a small with red onions and they added green peppers as well by mistake. Server apologized and gave us the mistaken pizza au gratis, offering to get the correct pie to us while we picked at it. They have very good wings as well. Those got devoured before pictures could be taken. Good quality, good price, good pizza, and great staff If I had to ding them on anything it would be that they have off-tasting tap water. So if you dine in, might want to get some bottled waters as well. Beyond that, a great choice for pizza in the area. Good job Willington pizza too!

    Buffalo Wings were delicious

Just the service alone is worth the drive! We had the BEST WAITRESS I've ever encountered! Marie is prob one of the sweetest, most attentive ppl I've ever met. I couldn't get over how genuinely nice she was We stumbled on this restaurant by accident. After driving 2 hrs we got hungry and decided to get off the exit and I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing! Absolutely delicious and so flavorful!!! We got a an order of Buffalo wings (12 pcs for $17.99: I thought it was a little pricey for wings but they were worth it). Cooked they way I like them, plenty of flavor We also ordered a Large Pizza $22, half Pepperoni and Sausage, half Hamburg and Garlic! Yum Yum Yum! For dessert, Marie suggested the Key Lime Pie and Boyyyyyy it did not disappoint!!!! Absolutely delicious I'd definitely take the drive back out to this little hidden gem Thank you Marie for the great experience!

It happened at the urging of my eighth-grade girlfriend, in one of Wing Express' hard orange booths. Back then, the cuisine was an exotic unknown to me. I wish I could say the experience was revelatory, but I didn't even know enough to mix the styrofoam cup full of spicy vegetables with the second cup full of fragrant basmati rice. I ate them one at a time, then reported to her it was too spicy and that the consistency was sludge. I think she dodged a bullet when we broke up a month later. In the intervening quarter century, I became a vegetarian and fell gratefully into the arms of a cuisine that always guaranteed me a raft of options; went off to college and learned to love the uncomplicated boldness of the takeout spot near campus; moved to Arkansas for my first job and gratefully devoured any "ethnic" food I could get when I came back to Connecticut on breaks; became the urbane New Yorker I'd always secretly wanted to be and lived through the city's golden age of fancy Indian that is still blossoming today; got to gorge myself on the real thing when in Delhi last winter for the wedding of a lifelong friend. Three new Indian spots have risen in Storrs in the time it's taken me to transform into my Platonic conception of myself. And each time I try one and then return to Wing Express, I'm convinced they got it right the first time. It's the best malai kofta I've had anywhere. My favorite aloo gobi. The only place I know that sells aloo mataar. It still feels new like it did when I tried it for the first time, still feels like a privilege the way it did when I'd eat it on breaks from being a school teacher rural Arkansas, still feels simple and authentic the way it does when I compare it to the best I've had in New York. Sometimes the past doesn't die or even change; its significance grows as you evolve. The older I get, the happier I am that Wing Express is still here.

From the moment you walk up, there's this unmistakable energy: the smell alone stops you in your tracks. It's rich, layered, and honestly a little dangerous if you show up hungry (which you absolutely should). Every dish feels intentional--nothing thrown together, nothing phoned in. You can tell whoever's behind the menu actually cares about food, not just serving it. The flavors? Bold without being overwhelming. Comforting but still exciting. It's that rare balance where every bite hits, whether it's something indulgent and messy or surprisingly refined for something coming out of a truck window. And the portions don't play games--you're leaving full and already thinking about what you're ordering next time. What really sets South 9 apart, though, is how it punches way above its weight class. This isn't "great for a food truck." This is great, period. The kind of food you'd expect to sit down for, linger over, and happily pay restaurant prices for. Honestly, South 9 deserves walls, a front door, and a line out the door. Until that happens, it might just be the best-kept secret on wheels--but not for long. Also, huge shout out for throwing in the extra sauces and tenders! As someone who rarely leaves reviews, this one is necessary and can't wait to see where this place goes.

BTW - Turns out it's super close to Exit 68 off Route 84. So it shouldn't have taken me this long. I'd call Camille's pizza Modern Wood-Fired Thin Crust. I ordered one with pepperoni, sausage and fresh peppers as opposed to roasted ones (which is an option) for pickup. The restaurant was nice. If you're a Prince (the musician, not the one stripped of his title -- too soon?) fan you may love the purple hues. The crust was good chewy. I loved the pepperoni. They cupped and crisped, but in a slightly different visual way than many cup and crisp pepperoni. Very cool. Tasted great too. The fresh peppers ended up being red rather than green. This is a personal preference, but I prefer green. I like the flavor of the green juice better on a pizza. I also think the green color pops better since the sauce and pepperoni are both red. I liked the pizza, but I didn't love it. I couldn't figure out why at first. I think the primary reason was the sausage. It wasn't bad. I just didn't connect with the flavor. And also I prefer larger pieces, than the smaller crumbles Camille's used. If I had this pizza without the sausage, I would have liked it better. I do have a favorable impression of Camille's though. I would definitely return. 4.25 Stars
