Went to Lumberjacks and immediately realized this place has basically everything you need for a good afternoon: a great patio on the water, good food, decent prices (which in 2026 deserves its own five-star review), cold drinks, and live music that somehow managed to be loud enough to enjoy without making me question whether my hearing insurance was up to date. The menu is basically the greatest hits of American civilization: burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, Italian sausage, decent ice cream selection, and for those under 12 who can still confidently recite the Pledge of Allegiance without accidentally starting with "In God We Trust." Free i scream you scream an ice cream cone!!! They've also got beer, wine, and mimosas, because apparently Sea worthy Lumberjacks believes in equality between breakfast, lunch, and questionable afternoon decisions. But i didn't live that dangerous and had bottomless raspberry tea which was absolutely delicious. Like, "Why have I been drinking regular tea like some kind of peasant?" delicious. The band was great, too. And then came the plot twist....They announced that Lumberjacks is closing at the end of the season because the property has been bought by the city. Cue the dramatic violin music. So apparently, after providing waterfront food, beverages, music, and a place for people to sit around enjoying themselves, civilization has decided we've had enough. The city has acquired the property, and the Lumberjacks era is coming to an end. Which is unfortunate because if I had a boat and an eye patch, I'd probably be permanently docked here by now. I'd have a raspberry tea in one hand, a beer in the other, and absolutely no idea where my boat came from. Great food. Great waterfront patio. Reasonable prices. Good music. Good drinks. And apparently a limited-time offer because the city is taking over. If you haven't been, go before the season ends. Because nothing says "support your local restaurant" quite like finding out it's being taken away and suddenly developing a deep emotional attachment to the place. 10/10 would return. 11/10 if I had a boat. 12/10 if someone gives me an eye patch. ‍ read more

Was really disappointed. We ordered food and it took 30 minutes for just an Italian sausage and that wasn't even the worst part. They brought everyones food out all at the same time so everyone was waiting just like us. So we had to sit with the horrible sand flies flying in our faces, mouths drinks. I have been here twice. The first time was in June, which was absolutely fantastic, and the second time July 12th, which was terrible. Since my visit in June was so fantastic, I was excited to go back, taking my husband. I have to say I was TOTALLY embarrassed and apologized to him. We ordered the same thing I purchased in June, a BLT sandwich. In June, the sandwich had tons of bacon, along with the perfect amount of lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. This time there was 1 1/2 pieces of bacon, barely any lettuce, an ok amount of tomatoes and no mayonnaise. I went to the counter, with my sandwich, showed it and asked for more bacon for both. Especially, for the amount we paid for each sandwich. The girl behind the counter seemed embarrassed, asked for more bacon, and brought out another 3 pieces for us to split between our sandwiches. We had a 70th birthday party for about 30 people on a Saturday here. I can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating the staff is. From ensuring that we were well taken care of, the quick service and cleanup, we had an amazing time. The staff from the owner Carol, the manager Sgt. Sandra, the cook Nick (who makes the best fish-fry in WNY) and the counter/waitstaff Aud, Molly, Brenna and Alaina, we really appreciated how awesome they were. The food was prepared and prepped perfectly, with every dish being a delight. With a wide variety of dishes on the menu, everyone was able to find something they liked. I heartily recommend them for a casual meal to a family get-together. With a view to die for and awesome food, you'll enjoy making this your next visit. We plan to be back for more! read more

Great location right on the water, can pull up and dock. It's a hot dog joint with extra stuff. Foot long wiener with the onion rings is a full meal. They also serve beer and spritzers to keep your buzz going. The service is slow, no two ways about it. When they say 45 minutes it's gonna be 45 minutes. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. My family and I sat for over an hour waiting for our food, only to be asked after all that time if we even placed an order -- and whether we paid. Are you serious? Not once did anyone come over to check on us or offer any sort of apology. There was absolutely no care or empathy shown. Meanwhile, multiple customers who arrived after us got their food and left, and we were still just sitting there. I'm literally writing this as we're still waiting. We live in the area and frequent here; you can't beat the view of the river from their indoor or outdoor space and if you want to eat waterside you can. Pull up in your car, boat, or walk in off the biking / walking trail. The food is standard "hot dog stand" meets small kitchen- you can get extras like shaved steak sandwich, crunch rolls, fish fry, fried pickles, etc but also the standard staples. As previously mentioned, majority of the food is grilled or fried so be prepared to select from those two categories. A really nice touch over most places with these menus is the wine / beer / canned malt beverages- you can't beat a hot dog or burger on the water with a cold drink. The food is very reasonably priced, the drinks are just slightly more than your neighborhood bar but less than a full fledged restaurant would be on the water. read more

Stopped in for a late afternoon snack on a hot and windy July day. The patio was empty, due to the extreme wind. We sat outside and held on tightly to our things. The view is the best thing about this place. There are a few beers on tap,but an assortment of interesting brews are available in cans in the cooler. My group ordered fried pickles, curly fries, and a burger platter. The food arrived quickly and was delivered to our table. This place has been on my list for over a year, and finally the timing worked out for lunch with a friend. We came here on a Sunday for lunch around 12:45; not overly crowded as we hoped. We walked into the restaurant and ordered a cheeseburger and a grilled cheese, two sodas and a seasoned curly fry. The bill came to under $25. We were given cups to use on the bottomless drinks and a number for a waitress to deliver our food to. We found a great table right along the railing by the water; the wind was whipping but it was refreshing so we didn't get too hot in the midday sun. Within 20 minutes our food came out and looked amazing - you can see the kitchen when you order and this food was legit. The grilled cheese was like home, and the burger wasn't frozen but hand packed. The fries were good but I expected more "seasoning." Ehhh it's ok we didn't eat them all, not good for us....right?! We really loved sitting outside and they have a huge outdoor and indoor seating area so definitely room for many to be at to enjoy the scenery. One thing that kinda freaked me out is that they use paper straws, which is fine, but they are right out of the box and not wrapped. So someone could touch five straws just trying to get one - the germ girl in me wanted wrappers. Definitely would recommend and return to - just bring your cash! Only come here for the atmosphere! Truly some of the worst food I've ever had. Everything is made in a deep fryer and everything was just a little too well done. The French fries were burnt and had no salt. The toast on the BLT sandwich was burnt. Just don't eat the food. As for the positives, they are located right on the water of the Niagara River. It was a beautiful day out with a nice breeze. Sun was shining. Couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy a drink. They had a band and the singer was great, playing fun well known songs. Fresh food, cheeseburgers were very fresh and made to order! The outside patio was so nice with the breeze and the sunset! Truly amazing! Very clean, bathrooms were clean. I brought my two littles and they were chilling and dancing outside to the music. The American Flag was flapping in the wind and the locals were absorbing the sunset on the water that was rippling by. The young cashier was super nice and really spoke highly of the banana peppers cheese sticks, and the Buffalo Chicken cheese sticks were really good with Ranch. The hamburger was fresh and made to order and the pickles were of perfect size. For the littles, if you recite the Pledge of Allegiance, you get a little Icecream. I wished I live here, we would visit weekly! The staff came out and checked in on us and spoke a bit with us! The Curley fries were seasoned and the food was plenty. Good portions! He got the medium which he thought was a little too spicy so next time he would order mild but it was a generous portion and for the price it was good. They have a lovely location right on the water and the interior portion is very clean and nice for dining in on those extra hot summer days. This is just a casual spot that serves burgers, dogs and a very good fish fry. The special was fried bologna but I stuck with the fish. A nice crisp piece came with two sides. The potato salad was delicious and the slaw was tasty and crisp. Nice house made curly Q fries too. Order inside and someone will run it out of your table. There's inside seating but on a nice day sit outside. They do have beer and the gal behind the tap was super and put it in an iced bucket to keep it cold in the hot sun. They also have ice cream and some variety of cookies and sweets. The staff (Marlene maybe) were very accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure everyone was happy. I'm giving three stars because I ordered the chicken breast sandwich, and I think for the price, it shouldn't be a "frozen, processed round piece of chicken". Also, order of sweet potato fries was over $6, and was a very small portion. I am not a big eater, and I definitely could of had more. Service was friendly, and food was brought out to our table pretty quickly. The staff even came out and checked on us to see if we needed anything. Just found this place this summer and we went 3 times in one month ! I love the grilled chicken salad. I also love the fact that it's on the water and there is a nice size patio overlooking the water ! I go here when I want to have a quick bite in a calm relaxing place during the day. The inside feels very nice with the open setting and big windows let the natural light in and you still can get a view. The only thing is I feel the salad is kind of small for the price standard price for grilled chicken salad but not standard size. However still satisfying and delicious. 4.5 stars ?! read more

Was looking for a different hot dog place and came across Lumberjacks. I never even knew this place was here! The menu is pretty small but had what we were after hot dogs and fries. They also have burgers, chicken sandwich, fish fry, beer and wine. The prices were a bit of a sticker shock as $4.20 for a hot dog is high, but we paid for the patio. The patio has lots of seating and a picture perfect view of the river. The service was friendly and they bring your food out to you so you can enjoy the water longer. Who really cares if their menu is limited, everything they do is excellent from the fish dinners to the burgers. Slaw is the perfect addition to the tartar sauce with the fish. Fries are perfectly done and the beer selection, though limited, pairs well with everything the offer. Do I need to say that if the sun is out and the breeze is blowing, you'll make a big mistake not to eat on the deck? Seriously? Buffalo has two months of summer, grab a brew and get on the deck.
