I bought a new dishwasher for my wife's birthday. I then Yelped for "Dishwasher Installation". Found Wilson Appliance Repair listing and called them. Spoke with the Owner/Tech Rob Wilson about his availability to do a dishwasher swap. I proceeded to schedule him for the next day. After texting him my address I quickly received txt msg from his appointment scheduling app, confirming the date and time. On the day of the appointment, I received another txt msg from his appointment scheduling app reminding me about the appointment. Rob with Wilson Appliance Repair was able to get my new dishwasher installed with out issue. He even had the Dishwasher Connection Kit on his truck. I was able to pay via Amex CC. You would be surprised the amount of vendors I deal with that don't take Amex, or try to charge an additional 3% to 5% to accept my Amex. This was not the case with Wilson Appliance, the price he quoted me was the price I paid. Plus he has updated payment technology that accepts payment via his mobile cc chip reader. It always may me a little leery when vendors pull out a pen & pad and starting writing my CC number down, or have to call someone in thier "office" and read my CC number to them over the phone. This repairman is dishonest! He told me the Diagnostic fee would be waived if I decided to let him repair my washer after he found the issue. He charged labor, parts (of course), but also the diagnostic fee. He swore he never told me that and he had my wife hurry up and pay him before I made it home from work. On August 6th, I discovered my Kenmore dishwasher wasn't draining. I picked out Wilson Appliance at random. First, he and his assistant tried to pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet without first turning it off at the breaker or disconnecting the wire feeding it electricity under the front. Result: a loud spark came from somewhere underneath. After pushing the button on the door, he deduced from the noise at the disposal that it was the drain pump. His usual suppliers didn't have one in stock he said, so it would have to be back ordered. He would get back to me when it came in he said, but warned me it could be September because of the pandemic. A week later, I called to see what the status was, was told it was still on order, and asked if he had tried the U-Fix-It Shop near where I lived. He said he had. Another week passed. I got tired of washing dishes by hand, so I went on the net, found the part number at a website, and, lo and behold, discovered a dozen sites that all had that part in stock and would ship within 2 to 4 days! Even the U-Fix-It Shop he said he had checked had it, and would hold one for me! I then found a YouTube video that showed me how to disconnect the dishwasher, pulled it out from the wall, and discovered by blowing on the drain tube that it wasn't the drain pump at all, but a clog where the tube meets the disposal. I cleared it out with a knife and, at the same time, discovered the source of the spark: he had broken the electrical line when he tried to pull it out from the wall without first disconnecting it. Bottom line: I fixed the dishwasher myself. I repaired the wire he broke, cleaned out the clog with a knife, put everything back together (thanks to YouTube), and the dishwasher has been working perfectly ever since. The drain pump was not the problem, yet I was charged $85 for the visit and for breaking the wire. (It is now early September, and he has never called back.) Needless to say, I feel cheated. I would never use Wilson Appliance again. My recommendation is, if your dishwasher goes on the fritz, there is probably a YouTube video that will show you how to fix it. I did, and I had no experience whatsoever. Apparently, neither did Wilson. read more
