I ordered a home inspection report. The report said there were some broken shingles on the roof, but overall it was fine. I purchased the house. Three weeks later, the home insurance company said I would have to replace the roof or lose insurance. The two roofing contractors I asked to come out said the roof was in such poor condition, that they were surprised it passed inspection. I had to pay $7K to replace the roof, a not-fun surprise given that the home inspection did not warn of this possibility. I pointed this out to the company, and they forwarded me to the free home insurance I get when I get a home inspection report. The home insurance said they would only pay for leaks. Well, I can't wait until winter for a storm to blow the roof in! Because if I did, I'd be out of home insurance. So I'm out $7K because this home inspection company didn't do a good job with the inspection. They took pictures from a drone, versus actually examining the roof. read more

The inspection service they had was not reliable. He inspected a home I wanted to buy in Georgetown, Texas. The report came out everything was good, no issue. I bought the house and listed for rent (during that time the house was unoccupied). On the 1st day when tenant moved in, they called me and said the toilet in Master bedroom was clogged. I called plumbing and finally found out the tenant of previous home owner might push something down the toilet (for revenge??), which James did not find out when he did the inspection. Took me several months to request a refund on $250 I paid to plumbing but he did not get it resolved. No, I will not use and do not recommend Win Home Inspection or James to anyone. read more

I've had to use James twice in the past few months and both times he has been phenomenal. His inspection on the first house we were looking at raised a lot of questions about the plumbing. We ultimately decided not to get that house and it's due to the very through James did to give us the information we needed to make an informed decision. He just did our second inspection and, once again, he was super thorough and honest about everything he saw. Used win to inspect my home. Disappointed. After we closed found rats in our new home. When contacted were told that was outside the scope of inspection. Even though we paid for a pest report as well. Pest control said it was obvious the rats had been here a long time. There were droppings everywhere in the attic. Next to water heater and a/c. Even if out of the scope of the report Win couldn't even say something? Much appreciated James. I had even recommended Win to a friend. Who coincidentally had rats as well. Same result. Said nothing. I am so embarrassed to have made the referral. I'll never use Win again. read more
