When I was looking for a local Orthodontist, I did a lot of research. Based on the positive reviews, I decided to give Mai Orthodontics a try. They've been nothing but phenomenal from appointment setting to follow-ups. A special shout out to Gisselle at the front desk, this young lady is very passionate about her work and her joyful spirit is really enlightening. On my first visit I met with Dr. Mai, he was very professional, and the office was very well equipped, neat and very clean. This is high on my list of priorities. After taking some x-rays of my teeth the doctor planned my treatment. He has helped me gain the confidence I was looking for and my teeth are now straight, more so than ever. I began going to Mai Orthodontics a while back, mostly due to its close and convenient location in relation to where I live. Due to the underbite and crooked teeth I had at the time, I was given braces for six years total, and I was required to use head gear for a short while in the midst of those six years. The time I spent at Mai Orthodontics was unenjoyable, to say the least. Though the individuals employed at Mai Orthodontist appear to be quite friendly, I have quite a few concerns as to their qualifications as orthodontists. First of all, Dr. Mai attempted to sell me on numerous products, and for a while I listened and purchased whatever I was told was necessary to better the health and juxtaposition of my teeth. However, it became quite excessive and got to the point where I knew it was just a way to scam patients into paying more money. Moreover, on a different note, I remember quite clearly several appointments in which I was brought to tears due to the pain. In addition to this, I would only see Dr. Mai for about an eighth of each of my visits; he would leave his staff to do the work and then only check up on me, his patient, for a few short minutes at the end of each appointment. On a worse note, recently, I began going to a new dentist. I had X-Rays taken of my teeth, and it was brought to my attention that whatever had been done to my teeth in the past by any previous orthodontist had resulted in the extreme deterioration of the roots of my upper teeth, and that I would likely lose these teeth by age 50. Hearing this news was quite heart-breaking, as I know for a fact that there is absolutely no way Dr. Mai and his staff could have missed this or not seen this coming, as they took X-Rays of my teeth quite frequently. I can't help but be angry and utterly disheartened with every person working at Mai Orthodontics--especially Dr. Mai. If I could do it all over, I never would have gone to Mai Orthodontics in the first place, and the only thing I can do now is help prevent others from making the same ignorant choice I did by choosing this orthodontist. I could not be more disappointed in Mai Orthodontics. If only Dr. Mai and his staff cared more about the physical health and overall well being of their patients as opposed to making money. Fair warning to anyone considering going to Mai Orthodontics: short term, you might find going to this orthodontist to be the best option or solution, but long term, you will regret it. read more

This office experience is incredible. No long waits or holds, no sorry for the wait type of stuff. My daughter has braces and I just finished my in house clear aligners. I highly recommend the in house form of Invisalign. We were treated like royalty with excellent prices, care packages and bubbly, excited and caring staff. Doctor Mai is extremely easy to work with, very experienced and patient with clients. Read about his credentials guys. He also teaches at UNLV and Roseman school. I've been here for close to 3 years now. First was a consult and i didn't start my invisalign done until a year later. But every time i came, GUYS, every time is smooth and efficient! They didn't waste any of your time. They would coordinate accordingly to your needs, such as in my case i was born missing teeth so i would need invisalign to make room for implants, so dr mai helped me connecting with my surgeon at Nevada Oral and Facial Surgeon as well. The missing teeth are also in the front so they need to be very precise since the screws have to be very small too. So Dr Mai planned it with me, making sure i have enough room for the implant screws, and adjusted treatment if see fits. I never got such great experience in health care before and they showed me differently! Overall, my journey has been long but almost coming to an end. Waiting for the crowns to be finished right now with my dentist office. I can't thank all of them enough. Dr Mai and their office provide exceptional service! First of all let me start off by saying this place is either a hit or miss. Mostly miss. I've been a patient of Dr. Mai for a good 2 years, and while I was a patient of Dr. Mai, he's probably worked on me a total of 2 minutes each time I visit him. He is one of those orthodontists who just want your money, and rely on the assistants to do much of the work. I've had experiences with him where I was the only patient there and he'd still have the assistants do everything, only coming by at the end very briefly. Dr. Mai is very big on trying to sell as well! Extra this, and extra that! Don't fall for it. I'd say visit a different orthodontist. Do your research. Dr. Mai in my opinion does half a** work and mostly focuses on taking peoples money. ** Quick Note: Dr. Mai had a promotion going on where if you write a good review, you'd be entered into a drawing for an iPad.To emphasize Dr. Mai's character, let me just put it out there that he never actually did the drawing anyway. Dr. Mai told us we would have our Invisalign aligners in 2 weeks. After a month the office told us the paperwork was properly submitted and it was another orthodontist fault. I called Invisalign and they said it was absolutely Dr Mai's office that was at fault. Once the paperwork was finally submitted properly over a month later we finally did the scans. The office said we would have the aligners in a few days. After more than a month of hearing any day now, we were told they would be here for sure on Monday. On Wednesday I called and she said she was on with Invisalign now and would call me back. She never did. I called her and she said they were being delayed in Memphis and that she couldn't control the weather. I called Invisalign and they said we don't ship out of or through Memphis. We still haven't gotten the aligners and my gum health has been severely negatively affected. Do not use these people under any circumstances. read more

What can't I say about Dr. Mai and his staff? My daughter, husband and myself have had been seeing Dr. Mai for over 4 yrs as our orthodontist. Both my daughter and husband had serve cases, my daughter had her braces removed about 2 yrs ago with amazing results. The work my husband has had done by dr. Mai is nothing but a miracle. His progress has even impressed our dentist who said it would be next to impossible to get the success he has experienced. I have referred multiple people and their family members. If there is only way I could give him 0 star I would definitely give him that! I would never recommend him to anybody! I am still his patient right now, but I really can't take this anymore! I am not really happy on their service with me most especially the scheduling an appointment plus they're too slow on processing my braces!! My last visit was November and the next appointment they can give me is February! That's way too far! It is just so ridiculous that they would give me the reason that the doctor is only available every Friday! What about the patients that is not available on Friday like me because I also work? That is really unfair that he doesn't prioritize his patients! I am paying in time but that's the service he will give me!! I guess he only wants my money! He know that I am paying and that's why he doesn't care anymore. Who would be happy with that? Of course none! They should inform the patients ahead of time on what's going on! I've had experienced that they will have to cancel my appointment in the last minute! Take note! I'm already outside the door! And that's the only time their scheduler will inform me that nobody's inside and the doctor is not there. How ridiculous that is! I am so pissed off and upset! I hope they can do something about it!
