0 stars. Went to this dentist for the first time for a cleaning. They took X-rays and said all 4 of my wisdom teeth need to come out. I'm 31 and one of my wisdom teeth is straight through the gum. He convinced me they were impacted and needed to be removed he immediately referred me to the oral surgeon. Which took weeks to get the referral cuz their office was ridiculously slow. I had to call the office to finally get someone to email me the referral. Then they send me to absolute dental across town. I get to my oral surgery appt. And the surgeon takes one look at my mouth and says it would be UNETHICAL to take your teeth!!!!!! I will not take your teeth you don't need it and it will cause more harm than good. He said that if I wanted he would only take the one wisdom tooth that had popped through my gum already which I agreed to. Now I'm trying to get a hold of someone at this office and insurance typical fashion NO ONE is answering the phone!!!!!! Extremely upset right now. Update. Someone called me back and when I tried explaining what happened they started denying that even referred me to have surgery. Refused to give me the dentist name. I asked to speak to a manager or the Dr and she told me if I wanted to speak to someone I could call insurance and hung up on me. I made a complaint with the dental society and they're lucky I didn't take this further. read more

When I first started taking my daughter to this dentist I actually liked it. My daughter had a hole in her tooth and they just kept filling it in. I told the doctor that her teeth kept hurting and he would tell me she didn't have any cavities so , I believed him. I'm no dentist so , then I took her back to check her tooth and I told him something was wrong and they finally sent me over to a specialist. I go to the new dentist and they told me my daughter has 8 cavities and now they have to remove 2 of her teeth and put crows around the other ones. Unfortunately, her teeth could of been saved but , because of the lack of effort from starts dental they have to remove them. read more

My current issue is that I've been waiting forever for a procedure to get authorized, currently in severe pain cause I THOUGHT I was waiting on my insurance, but it turns out that my request wasn't even sent over to my insurance and I'm sitting here in agony because somebody in reception can't do their job correctly. Very short visit! After waiting to get X-ray and cleaning they were also short a person working out sick/hospitalized. No problem 15 min more wait. Got called in the patient area it is very small. No windows or fluff. I am mentioning the lady Nancy in the front was very nice and helpful. The Xrays were a little behind times not high tech like my other dentist they had all the latest. The cleaning was just ok the hygienist burned my lip due to buffer machine drill being too close. The exam was beyond super quick. Dentist came in said hi no cavities. Then proceeded to use the water cleaner wand to finish cleaning. That was it no frills and no fluoride. Fluoride was not even offered. The products they used appeared to be cheap or maybe really cost efficient however the utensils did come from a sterile bag. Other then that pretty uneventful. Not much personal interaction or conversation during the entire quick office visit. Received a cheap toothbrush and paste on my way out. No floss! Thought about ASMDR by the dental hygienist because her voice was real soft and low demure kind of tingling. So I closed my eyes and thought of relaxing and going back to sleep. read more

Went in with pain on a tooth which I didn't know at the time was cracked. I'm pregnant and had a pre approval letter in hand. Due to me being pregnant my original dentist wanted to wait until after I delivered- she did get a preapproval and had me get release from by OB just incase. (Tooth was still intact at the time) she was on vacation on that time so I went to this office. The dentist sent me home with a sensitivity toothpaste, a cracked tooth in the worst pain I've ever been in. Every objection he gave me I had covered- pre approval letter from insurance was done as well as release from my OB. I had to get an emergency root canal and crown and ended up paying over $2000 for it. Verses having insurance cover cost. Avoid this place at all cost. You'll regret wasting your time and will end up just letting them bill your insurance for the office visit because they do not help you in anyway. Worst office in Las Vegas. Just had my first visit here and it was short and sweet. I LOVED IT! You can tell the doctor is not out to just make money but he seemed to be very honest and upfront. When I first called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Chiem the receptionist answered the phone in a timely manner and was very pleasant. She scheduled an appointment within the week and was flexible about my time. I met Dr. Chiem and he made recommendations to me that I already knew about. I was already aware of the dental work that I needed so that reassured me that he was not trying to get me to have unnecessary dental work. He was very polite and ethical. Very friendly, understanding, and compassionate staff. I woke up on Friday morning before an extended weekend with intense tooth pain. My former dentist of five years was closed for the holiday and unable to see me until the following Wednesday. That's no good, my tooth hurts and I'm apparently whining like a small child. My girlfriend called and scheduled me an appointment (way to reward my bad behavior) with Dr Chiem, and they were able to squeeze me in later that same day. Turns out my old dentist hadn't done the best job installing a cavity. A portion of the cavity had fallen out (hence the pain). The cavity had failed and my tooth has been rotting and I now required a root canal. I was given an estimate (which was very fair) with the opportunity to have to work done right then and there. There's not much I can say, it went as well as a root canal can go. I was given plenty of numbing medication and the doctor checked my comfort levels throughout the procedure (I didn't feel a thing. About an hour later and I was done. I was fitted for a crown and a followup appointment was scheduled for the following week. I left with two prescriptions and less roots. My mouth was slightly sore the next morning from being stuck open for so long, and the surrounding gums were also a little sensitive (I was warned this would be the case). I took my pain meds and antibiotics as prescribed and everything felt fine the next morning. I had one more follow up appointment, at no charge, before scheduling my crown install. My tooth was inspected to insure the doctor was comfortable with the results before installing my crown. I couldn't feel anything around the tooth (that's good, that's the whole point of the procedure). I was told to finish up my antibiotics and we scheduled my install appointment for my crown. I'll update my review when they're done with the crown, unless I forget, in which case I'm either dead and unable to update or forgot to update. Either way, I wouldn't fault Stars Dental, unless they somehow killed me by installing a crown. I'm going to assume my gf would update my review or leave her own review discussing how they killed me and I'm now haunting the office. Even still, I'd only take away one star because everyone else was great. Long story short, I give these guys 5 Stars unless you notice a chubby ghost with a beard and glasses haunting their office. read more

Getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed at once is no fun for anyone, but Dr. Chiem helped make it as great of an experience as possible. I went for local anesthesia and was really nervous b/c I've never had any dental or surgical procedure done on me before, but everything went great! I didn't feel a thing while he was working on the removal. It didn't take too long and the painkillers afterwards really helped. My family and I have been going here a few years now and I love the staff. Wait times not too long, they schedule accordingly. My 13 year old got his braces there. Dr prefers to keep natural, and he doesn't automatically want to do work just to make a buck. I have had that done before. I need some work done, they call ins and see how much the different options cost and leave it up to me to do it. Nightmare! I went to get my wisdom teeth removed as recommended by Dr. Chiam. She removed the top 2 and half way removed the bottom 2. She broke the bottom one and left the root. I then had to go see a Oral Surgeon to compete her job! Malpractice! I was in pain for the entire day and had to wait for an emergency referral to go see an oral surgeon from a different dentist! This dentist is very nice but I do have question some of his suggestions. He wanted to put an enamel backing on my front teeth because he said they were cracked. I think I would have noticed if my front teeth were cracked. My two front teeth have a little ridge in the middle- it has always been there and that is just the shape of my teeth. My dentist says my front teeth are perfect and there is nothing wrong with them. He also wanted do a deep cleaning and I had no idea what that was and he explained what it was and that I had a $200 deductible for that. I told my mom about the deep cleaning and she told me that is for people with gum disease and that I don't need it since my gums and teeth are healthy. I told the dentist that I discussed it with my mom who had previously been a dental hygienist and he said that he would waive my deductible and just not tell the insurance company. I was so stunned I said fine and he took about 5 minutes in my mouth with using this tool to do the deep cleaning. It was a strange experience. I didn't realize until today that his "deep cleaning" wasn't even as thorough as my new dentists regular cleaning. I'm glad I found a new dentist that I trust my pearly whites with. read more

I love the people and the environment at this place. They do a good job with everything. I really don't recommend getting braces here. I was promised only a year of braces, but now a year of braces turned into almost two years of braces. They do the same procedures every time I go into the checkup once a month which is just changing the bands and not wires or anything. they also haven't given me rubber bands which I'm confused as to why not? im just frustrated that I still haven't gotten my braces off by now even though I was promised only a year.
