Customer service could improve this establishment. Seems to me if someone is not a morning person they should not be holding a position as supervisor /manager. The gentleman this morning was loud and rude and needs to be retained in people skills and customer service, my ham and cheese croissant was forgotten about in the microwave, and even after that wanted me to take it cold. Don't know ill ever come back to this establishment.

I order an apple fritter, once I got to work to eat it the first bite tasted burnt. I noticed the edges were black instead of the nice dark golden brown hence the burnt taste. It's a first having a burnt apple fritter. I would not get an apple fritter at this location

Woke up at 1am craving donuts & a cappuccino The best decision I made cashier was very friendly the small shop had lots to choose from . Thank you Winchell's

Custard inside the donut was less than mediocre.

If I am not mistaken, there used to be a lot more Winchell's locations all over California. Now, I only see them in Southern California for the most part. A few weeks ago, I had one of my many donut cravings. Figured I'd go to a Winchell's because I have not been in one in years. This particular shop was in a little strip mall. The parking lot has quite a bit of potholes so drive carefully. Their donut cases were filled nicely that late morning I visited. I bought one Chocolate French Cruller and one Custard filled Chocolate donut. Bought tasted alright. Although the custard inside the donut was not the kind I prefer, and it had a bit of an aftertaste. Would be a regular if I lived close by. You are sure to find something to satisfy your sweettooth. By the way, the interior of the shop was clean and service was good.

    More cute Halloween decorations.

The variety of donuts is always fresh and delightful, but more so I love their other offerings of breakfast sandwiches and deli wraps and delicious dessert breads and coffees. The staff is always friendly and no matter what time of day or night you stop in. One of my favorite things is that they always decorate for each holiday. Attached to this review are two pictures from their Halloween decorations 2022

We were…read moredoing a bon voyage dinner for my nephew as he ventures off to his master's program out of state, and we were able to make last minute reservations. I got excited as we walked in because of how cool the vibe was inside the restaurant! Modern and clean aesthetic ... such a surprise! I had already looked at the menu the night before, so I made some suggestions for our party of four adults and kiddo. Our server brought fresh sourdough rolls with seasoned butter. Solid start. We then ordered the stuffed 'shrooms and proscuitto-arugula pizza as starters. Both were very excellent, and was tell-tale of what we were about to experience with our entrees. Entrees ordered were the rigatoni with vodka sauce, the pappardelle with shortrib (two servings but really enough food for at least four ppl!) and the chicken Parmesan salad. Everything was impressive, especially the pappardelle dish. With the beurre blanc and creamy Alfredo sauce with two huge pieces of short rib that were fork tender, it was the star of the evening. This dish is made table-side to ensure that it's eaten immediately. The portions were enough for four ppl, and the sauce is just absolutely decadent. Service was attentive and prompt. Our server was lovely! She shared her favorites with us, and we followed suit by ordering her favorite desserts too! The bread pudding was amazing, but the carrot cake, being a new recipe, was just a bit too sweet for our palates. Plenty of parking as it is onsite. Loved that!

We didn't get her name but she had glasses and septum nose piercing. She was more accommodating at then end but we were very off put at the beginning and it left a bad taste in our mouths. Our server at our table was the complete opposite. Very attentive and made the group less angry with our initial treatment. Wish I got her name to share. The desert and cocktails were nice but due to the service it did not make up for the overall experience. Desert: Tiramisu 4/5 - great flavor, ratio of cream was too much compared to cake portion Canolli 4/5 - duo flavors were nice and had a good shell with crunch Crème brûlée 2/5 - pistachio flavor was light and it's was almost too warm and liquidy. Cocktails overall some major hits and other misses. Sgroppino 5/5 - strong but with a great flavor profile Dragon fruit cocktail 2/5 - too light tasting, not much flavor or alcohol? Gave more juice Peach Bellini 4.5/5 - table side pour is nice touch and rest of bottle was nice. Syrup has a sourness but mixed in with Bellini and gelato and tasted just right. Melontini - 2.5/5 light, somewhat good flavor but nothing memorable. Ambience seems nice but it can be loud inside with open floor plan.

A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

The burger and fries were the star though! The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the bacon added a great flavor. Fries were crispy and salted well. Almost forgot I also got an egg roll to try because it had been so long since I had one from here. It's huge! Super crispy outside and a nice amount of filling. They give you hot mustard and what I thought was ketchup but honestly I'm not too sure. Either way, they were great mixed together to dip your egg roll into. Was expecting crispy bacon on the benny considering the description, but the only difference from classic seemed to be the avocado. The benny egg and muffin were both collected well, especially the eggs they did a great job on those. Wife didn't like the flavor of the hollandaise sauce, but thought it was fine. She liked the French toast much better. You did not need syrup as the butter cream and chocolate sauce were plenty sweet on their own. Half serving is probably ok for one person, full was nice to share. The bathroom was clean, large, and single person--great for a pit stop before you head out! The mason jar waters were cool. The interior of the restaurant is very cool, definitely channeling an old Western saloon environment. It features beautiful dark wood, an old Western-style chandelier, and high ceilings that give the place a spacious yet rustic vibe. The inside is just really cool to look at while you eat. On top of that, the service was very nice, and the servers were all very cute and attentive. For my meal, I ordered the beef brisket sandwich, which came with one side. The flavor of the beef brisket was good, but the meat itself was actually kind of dry. I tend to prefer a much more moist brisket, so that was the only real letdown of the food. The restaurant is located in a huge shopping center surrounded by grocery stores and other restaurants. Because the parking lot is shared amongst all the different businesses in the area, finding a spot can be a total hit-or-miss depending on the time of day you visit. Overall, it was a very nice experience with a great atmosphere, and I'd definitely stop by again!
