    Vanilla Ice Cream Special
    Ken M.

Some friends suggested this restaurant in the Smith's supermarket shopping center for dinner. I ordered an open-faced sliced turkey breast with mashed potatoes, turkey gravy & cranberry sauce. Topped it off with a vanilla ice cream special for two. The turkey dinner was cooked just right, and the dessert is always a treat. The lighting is dim, the noise level is low, ample parking, and the servers are friendly. The menu prices are quite reasonable, and portions are ample. A good choice for a simple, affordable meal. Definitely casual dress.

Stopped by with co workers for lunch. Party of 9. Was seated right away. Server came over and took drink orders and they came out promptly. Food orders were taken and all dishes came out within about 20 minutes or so. Everything was accurate and food was good. Portions are large. Server was amazing. This was my first time visiting but wont be the last.

As always, good, friendly service & a wonderful meal at a reasonable price. We chose our meals off the special Valentine's Day menu & went with the "Beef & Reef" dinner. Absolutely wonderful.

this is the original Greek Gyro salad,

we've been going to Winchells for many many years, and whether they've sold to somebody or new management, but they have lost 80% of their good employees, the food is not the same and even when specify what you would like when you're ordering it I've recently experienced waiters and waitresses, giving me every excuse why they can't do something instead of satisfying the customer. It's now my last go to restaurant. it is like the difference of getting a hamburger that is got a great presentation versus one that has the cooks fist stuck through it and when you explain it, most of the serve staff just does not get it. Sad.

I love stopping by for lunch or dinner. Service is always fast and friendly. The booths are comfy. Food comes out quickly and tastes great. My expectations are always met during our visits!

Convenient location for our group with lots of choices for food and beverages. Our server was excellent. I selected one of the mentioned items though my selection was less than stellar. Server asked I wanted something else, I said no and was happy to pay for my meal. She took it off my bill. I left a great tip for great service. She offered a salad and I said no but appreciated her excellent service. I would go again and get a salad :)

My first time at Winchell's and won't be my last. We sat in the dining room and had great service from start to finish! The dining room area is a chill space, there were couples, groups of adults, business dinners and even families with kids. It wasn't smoky or loud which was also nice. The pretzel bread and jalapeño cheese were delicious! The fries were also crisp and tasty! My california dreamin' was okay, a little on the dry side - I don't like tomato and it normally comes with it, I imagine it would help with the dryness. We ordered the peach cobbler and carrot cake to go - the peach cobbler was okay, the crust lacked flavor. The carrot cake was delicious. Looking forward to more pretzel bread and trying other new things! Even the breakfast menu looked like it had great options!

I was staying at a nearby hotel for the 4th and decided to try this place out. Right off the bat you notice the buildings interior had an old-timey, vintage look to it with dark woods and stone columns and walls. Almost like a citadel. Rock music was plenty on the radio. The service was a bit transactional, but back to that later. The Menu looked decent, i had a Nashville chicken sandwich. The sandwich was semi-satisfactory and the fries tasted like old unchanged grease. When i finished my sandwich i was only there for 35 minutes and was automatically brought my bill by the bartender. I asked if she was leaving and she said no- i informed that i wasn't done yet nor was i leaving. My wife came and i had a few more cocktails....by the end of it the bartender decided to use her TAM card skills and tell me that was my last one because she wasn't comfortable making me any more. While i get it, i certainly wasn't doing much but keeping to myself. Since that was the 2nd time she tried to get rid of me and she was way more transactional vs. friendly I'll bet she wasn't comfortable with her tip either! It has potential to be a good hang out, but there just wasn't any fun vibe to it, it was a depressing low energy spot to be in and i felt uncomfortable there. Many better options.

Ask the Community - Winchell's Pub & Grill

Is the dining room in a totally separate room from the bar for non smokers?

No it is not... it is somewhat separated but there is still the lesser smell of cigarette smoke. Toward the back of the room by the windows to the street is the best area to not be bothered by smoke.

What is the soup of the day for all the days of the week?

They may change from time to time, but usually the soups are as follows: Monday - Chicken & rice…

Do they serve food 24 hours a day?

    Yes

Eat two and you've had dinner. Drinks are $5, and the limited menu is limited to exactly what you need: a properly poured pint of Guinness and a sweet little cocktail called the Celtic Breeze. In a town charging $15 for coffee, our whole dinner-and-drinks ran less than fast food. Then there's Tony behind the bar -- funny, pours a Guinness with actual respect for the ritual, and clearly loves his job, which in Vegas is rarer than a free parking spot. He turned a cheap happy hour into one of the best stops of our trip. We came to Vegas the same week we ate at one of the Strip's overhyped "experience" restaurants. This unassuming Irish pub beat it in every category that matters -- food, drinks, atmosphere, humanity -- at literally a tenth of the price. Proof there's still something real in Sin City if you know where to look. Go before the accountants find out.

I came dressed in a casual skeleton jumpsuit, which was kind of a last minute costume for me. Getting there and finding it was super easy. I parked in the casino parking garage, which had plenty of spaces, and walked right over, which was just a short walk away. The weather that evening was perfect to sit outside on their patio, watch a little bit of game 6 of the World Series, and watch other people go by all dressed up in their own costumes. It was not too hot, not too cold, and not windy at all, though it started getting a little chilly as the night progressed. Our waiter was Batman (actually Jorge dressed as Batman lol), who made a pretty impressive Batman impersonation. The Cali Squeeze Blood Orange Hefe, Jack Daniel's, among other alcoholic drinks made appearances. Not to mention the various Jell-O syringe shots someone in our group bought along with her, and yes, she was dressed up as a nurse. ;D Food appearances were pub pretzels and pork sliders with fries on the side. Jorge (aka Batman) told us that we were given the last pork slider dishes available, as they ran out. We initially thought that he was joking, but he was not. The pretzels were great to snack on while I drank my beer, in the case I was going to drink more later that night. I did drive here, so I had to really pace myself with my drinks. This was a great place to grab some food and drinks before going out for the rest of the night. It's also a great place to watch any game that's on.

The Laundry Room is dead, long live the Laundry Room. The remodel that took place during Jan to May 2026 saw a wide amount of change from Corner Management, the mother company of LR. They got rid of the absolute corner stone of the lead bartender, Anthony, and redecorated the place to look more like the sister bar, Doberman Drawing Room (5 Stars). The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.
