I have always loved Winco prices and selections, but haven't been there or much of anywhere, in the last 18 months. I went today and got only a quart of milk and had to get out of there. In that short trip, I saw 13 people without masks and 3 more with the mask under the nose. I left feeling completely VIOLATED. Some of us are in more danger from the disease than others and I will live in fear for the next few days. The state has made it MANDATORY that masks be worn anywhere where there are people outside your family, But Winco will not demand compliance. Winco will not take steps to protect vulnerable customers. Be assured that I will not return to Winco. read more

Great prices, and lots of foods that you won't find at a Safeway or Albertsons. The canned and packaged foods are probably priced a bit lower than regular prices at smaller stores, but it's like a food warehouse like Costco, probably the same size as one. It's very easy to just buy stuff you probably don't really need. To my knowledge, it's the only place in town with Mezzetta Habanero sauce, so that's why I last went there. Unlike Costco, you can pretty much get what you want in regular sizes, not bulk sizes. The varieties, and brands for every type of food is huge, so it takes some time trying to figure out if a no-name brand is worth trying or not. They do have some bulk bins of nuts and candies, but not sure if it's sanitary. As far as I know, no organic foods, and no coffee bean roasting here. read more

Cheap, bulk food. this includes bulk flour, salt, spice, etc. bins. This includes produce not commonly found in Spokane Super markets. No credit cards. They do take Food Stamps, WIC, Cash, Debit, and check (with like 20 pieces of ID, depending on your checker). read more

Love this employee owned store. I regularly stop here for groceries and find their selection excellent. My favorites are the bulk items- you can get sesame seeds, poppy seeds, cinnamon, individually packaged vanilla beans and candied ginger along with all the other basic herbs and spices. High quality bulk grains and multiple flour options from Bobs Red Mill make this THE bulk store to go to. Also - bulk items are very reasonable. read more

Love Winco! It is pretty much the only grocery store I will shop at, and that is because of the prices. The cheap price for the groceries (I can easily get enough groceries for a month for under $100 if I really want to) easily offsets the cost of the gas it takes to drive there (I live in Cheney). I only wish they had one of these closer to Cheney, such as in Airway Heights or something. read more

Wow. Maybe it's just because it's summer, but I have never in my life had so much food spoil so quickly from any store. We bought fresh fruit and vegetables with a meal plan in mind for the week. Not a single piece of fruit or vegetable lasted. Highly recommend not buying ANYTHING fresh here. The only thing that lasts is dry goods. Which I can get anywhere for the same bulk price. Nice grocery store, located in the Spokane Valley. They carry bulk rices, beans, and grains as well. I'm glad it's open 24/7!

During this time of the Covid-19 crisis this store has gone above and beyond for their customers! There is a sanitizing station at the front doors and the store is very clean. They have even implemented, at the check out lines, a waiting spot for the next person in line, at a 6 foot distance. The next person in line does not approach the conveyor belt until you have finished checking out and are bagging your groceries, which allows you time to bag your groceries and be on your way before they are finished with their transaction and move to the bagging area. Love shopping here. The store is always clean and excellent customer service. The prices are amazing! I don't know what the other comments are talking about bad produce and meat I only shop at winco and have never had a bad experience with either. They also have a nice organic section. I always see people in produce rotating and filling products. They have a really nice selection and low prices. There's no club card to swipe. I had to bag my own groceries, but I actually like doing that. My bread tends to be much less smushy that way. When I needed help tracking down some ingredients someone was there to point me in the right direction, which saved me from wandering the aisles fruitlessly. The bulk section is awesome. It was the first one I've been in that didn't smell like patchouli. Lots of cool stuff there. They had a nice variety of seafood. The lady who packaged my fish handed me a recipe and explained how to cook Flounder so it doesn't turn into mush. All in all, a good experience. It's a little out of my way, but hey, I'll go down Sprague a little farther for those prices. read more

Love Shopping at Winco. Cheaper prices then Wal-Mart and they have a great bulk section. I don't mind bagging my own groceries so that's no problem for me. I know if you needed assistant with bagging they will get someone for you, so anyone that complains about the elderly and disabled not being able to bag or anything they will help with that. It does get really busy so don't go in on a lunch break shopping for a lot and expect to get right out. For meat and produce I only buy if I plan on using right away. read more

Contrary to one of the reviews - the north side store does have self checkout lines. The last time I was there I had a small list - 8 items - and I was in and out on 16 minutes. According to my receipt I was there at 4:16 PM.There is a map of the store available online. But like any store it gets easier the more you go to it. Their prices are lower on many items. And unlike the big box stores you do not have to buy 6 0r 12 can of the same thing. You have to be a wise shopper no matter where you shop. I have not found any meat to be bad there, and have at other stores. I find Winco a good place to shop when I have a big grocery list, and go to a closer store if needing only a few items. read more

Ii have to say i shop here 3 to 4 times a week. Lately i have had numerous problems with rotten food. Today was last straw. Two packs of pork ribs. I mentioned to my husband cooler seemed warm. Meat was room temperature but he and cashier thought was fine. I get home opened. So. Rotten. The smell was horrible. Called manager he said he checked seemed fime to him. Meat that feels completely warm. Is bad. The coolers felt the same. There is something wrong. But nobody seemed bothered. Gross. Im done with bad food. Time to shop somewhete else. I really really hate going to WinCo. It's always super busy, and I have no idea why, since their prices are comparable to Wal Mart. The only thing I can see that is worth buying here is the bulk foods, but I don't think it's very hygienic since parents who bring their kids here let their kids run around and stick their hands into and on whatever they want. You want a good bulk section? Go to Rosauer's or Fred Meyer's, the clientele at these 2 grocery stores is different than the clientele that WinCo foods cater too, and you don't see to many obnoxious kids running around misbehaving like you do at WinCo. The 1 thing I hate about WinCo? No self checkouts. It always seems that those rare times I go here, I get stuck behind someone who doesn't know that they don't accept credit cards, even though there's a big sign you can't miss where you get shopping carts from or there's someone who has no idea how to use their WIC checks and have no idea that WIC doesn't cover fruity pebbles, or somebody complaining about how their TP rang up an extra 3 cents than what was on the shelf (yes, this happened to me about the tp). Last time I was here, the meat department smelled of something horrible! Like rotten meat or fish. I would not buy meat here. The chicken breasts look horrible, and not even pink, more like a off yellow cream color. Ick! Meat should be healthy looking, so why would you want to put something in your body that doesn't look fresh, and makes you wonder how old it is? Although I did find Mascarpone cheese that I couldn't find at 3 other stores, as i was planning on making Tiramisu. read more

Winco is one of the more affordable places to shop in Spokane. I love their bulk section and shopping for meat. The only concern I have with winco is that the produce is horrible. I have purchased a variety of items and all went bad within a short period of time. To save some money I highly recommend this place BUT I recommend going elsewhere for produce. If you don't, you'll end up spending more money for produce because you have to replace them if not used right away. read more

If you've never been to Winco then you are missing out. This is a great place and I have to always recommends grocery shopping here over Walmart. I like that it is a very different company than Walmart or other box stores. I do about 85% of my shopping here and love it. To avoid crowds I usually shop late evening. Love it that they are open 24 hours. Shop from everything from produce, staple food, dairy and meat no complaint. have to say since WinCo open we don't shop at Costco as much expect for gas and certain item we like from Costco. read more

It a great place to buy boxed or canned goods anything that has to be prepared. Their hamburger has a lot of fat content in it. But the people that work there are friendly most items are less Expensive than Rosaure,s or Albertsons Safeway. read more

In many ways I like WinCo. But one thing they lack in is customer service. The 2 we have locally have terrible customer service, esp to the disabled and elderly. They don't assist them in anyway, won't allow them to remove the scooters from the store, and expects them to pack their own groceries. They don't accommodate at all for the disabled and elderly. read more

WinCo rules for newbies: 1) They only accept cash, checks (that meet their requirements), debit, WIC and EBT transactions as forms of payment, so don't even think about pulling out that credit card or running your debit as credit. 2) You bag your own groceries. I am a person of modest means, yet I am not willing to eat moldy fruit. If this is you then do not shop at WinCo. I took my entire months food money to Winco the other day and lost almost all of it. Winco would not give me my money back. All the fruit I bought including a honeydew melon, cantaloupe, berries, tomatoes, onions, peaches, and cherries, all turned the next day; is was a mixture of brown spots and fruit flies. my daughter unfortunately ate the nectarine and got diarrhea. The limes might have been good but I threw them out anyway. all the vegetables developed a smell, so out they went. Within a week the dry goods from their bins developed bugs-they got into other bags from Huckleberry's and all had to be thrown out. I always keep my receipt, except in this case, I accidentally threw it out so the manager accused me of trying to con money out of him; even though I have a bank print out with the same total they would have. I called the corporate office in Idaho and they placated me and did nothing. They did not call me back and do anything. So anyone who reads this review; I lost all my money, was accused of being a thief, and my daughter got food poisoning, and my house had fruit flies and bugs from dry goods. I like winco because I can get any item in large or small quantities however I saw very few employee's, supervisers, or management taking the time to help their shoppers. Saving money means you loose the insight of your business from your shoppers view. Costco might be bulk items and might be a little more costly but from the time I walk in to the time I leave I feel they respect my time and business and winco well just doesn't. Winco does have nice low prices and lots of items in bulk. But I got a nasty surprise when I shopped there. After I filled my cart with groceries and went to the checkstand, I found they had nobody to stuff bags. Fortunately, I brought my own. I ran my credit card through and quickly got to the other side so I could start stuffing. When my bags were filled and the cashier announced my total, I went back to the card reader. It said, "Please swipe card." "I DID swipe it!" I said. "Swipe it again!" she commanded. I did, and it asked for my PIN number. "PIN number?" I asked. "It's a CREDIT card!" She rolled her eyes. "We don't TAKE credit cards!" she barked, as if every fool knows that. "Well, then, you need a sign that says that!" "We do!" she said. "Well then, you need a BIG sign." "We do have a big sign!" she said, as if I worked for HER. "It's huge! HUGE!" She spread her arms out. I dumped out the groceries and walked out with my bags. When I got to the entrance, I looked for that "huge" sign she was talking about. I finally found a sign about three feet wide, partly hidden behind shopping carts, which explains that they want to keep prices nice and low, and that's why they don't take credit cards. What they really needed was a big sign above the entrance that says "NO CREDIT CARDS." I went to Rosauers to buy my groceries instead. The same groceries cost nearly $50 more. But at least there, they treated me like a customer and not an employee. read more
