AVOID USING WIND N SEA TOWING! This company deserves far less than one star. My husband was in a minor accident, and when we called AAA, they sent Wind N Sea. The tow truck driver falsely claimed he could only tow our car to their yard,My husband had never been an accident prior. Thankfully, he called me, and I immediately recognized the deception. With prior experience, I knew they were trying to exploit the situation for profit. After calling AAA again, the dispatcher confirmed our rights and instructed my husband to tell the driver to release the car. Even she knew that Wind N Sea was trying to pull a fast one. We are 0.5 miles away from this company, we have been waiting for over an hour and a half as they were being dispatched through AAA. The driver drove three times and never stopped. We called them and they were trying to tell us. It would be another 90 minutes. Worst tow company ever. I've been with AAA for 38 years and have never ever dealt with such such a terrible company. This company is a SCAM! We were in an accident our car was badly damaged on the side of the freeway. I called AAA who sent this company out. As soon as the driver got out he started telling us that this type of damage isn't covered through AAA I asked what did he mean? He said he had to call them, I said okay. He didn't call AAA. He then says that he needed to call his office. I said okay. Didn't do that either. He then starts questioning me if our car had full coverage. I said yes, but what does that have to do with this? He said well most people would use the insurance instead of AAA. I said well I'm using AAA not my insurance for a tow. He said the best I can do is tow it to my yard (verses the collision center I requested) then you'll have to have AAA come tow it tomorrow. I said okay. Took a photo of the address they were taking it to and left. Called AAA. Next day told the lady what had happened she said no problem we will go get it and take it to the collision center. 45 minutes later I get a call from the new tow company saying he's there to get my car but they're saying they don't have my car. So I call and spoke with Alex who said ya your car isn't here it's in our over flow yard it will be here tomorrow. (Now 2 nights) I said I don't want my car sitting at your tow yard. He said you need to call your insurance and have them come assess it here then they can tow it out, So I hung up called AAA back told them they needed to get my car out of that yard it's someone they called. So they called and was told I verbally told the driver I was bypassing AAA and was going to use my insurance for the tow? So now they won't release my car to AAA unless I pay the impound and storage fees because AAA won't pay insurance fee and they won't adjust the fee. So I called my insurance and told them everything that was happening and they arranged to get my car out of there. I read through most of these reviews and this isn't a one time occurrence. I filed a complaint with AAA and BBB. Companies like this take advantage of people when they are in a vulnerable situation to make more money. Alex told me: Just call your insurance you're not gonna be charged anything. The comment is so telling. They want to rack up all these storage fees and charge the insurances to get paid more than what AAA has a contract for. read more

Working through AAA, requested a tow and was told 30 minutes and then every 10 minutes or so, the automated update would change on arrival time. 3 hours later still no tow truck. AAA ended up reassigning this to a different company who arrived in 20 minutes and was courteous and efficient. Super friendly. So no, I would not recommend this particular towing company unless you want several hours of frustration. My situation was not an emergency so I understand if emergencies were prioritized, but just tell the customer that upfront. "I'm sorry ma'am. It looks like it'll be about 3 hours for your tow." That's all that was needed. I have communicated this concern to AAA as well. read more

I requested a tow through AAA at 1:25pm and they assigned Wind N Sea Towing to do the pickup. Their eta to arrive at the mechanic shop was 2:25pm. Then it changed to 5:15pm which is AFTER the shop is closed. AAA contacted the company and was assured that the tow was about 40 minutes away and would arrive at the location at 4:40pm. Then I got another notification that the time changed AGAIN and that the new eta would be 6:45pm!!! So now the mechanic shop is closed through the weekend and we can't get our car back till Monday thanks to the unreliability and dishonest eta times from Wind N Sea Towing (Perris). Hopefully our car doesn't get damaged over the weekend. Please note that the Wind N Sea office is located 5 miles away from where pick up spot was but were still delayed 5¹/² hours. read more

My tire blow 2/3 down the mountain from Big Bear to Redlands in an area of zero cell reception. I walked for 1hr, tried to use a roadside call box but wasn't working, finally a driver picked me up and drove me to the Forest Ranger Station, where I could call AAA. They booked Wind n Sea to pick me up and then drive to my car that I had left at the side of the mountain road. The driver called and updated me on his ETA but arrived even a bit earlier. I had my two small dogs with me and he was super nice about it and so professional. This is the best towing experience I could have hoped for in an otherwise dreadful situation. read more

Update to my previous review. Still a horrible business. After several days and making threats to go down there in person and calling and complaining to both of their offices in San Diego and Perris Wind n Sea finally decided it's okay to release my vehicle to my insurance company. I have no idea what my company paid but I informed them if the issue they were giving me and the several times I called to verbally release my vehicle. No justification for Wind N Sea in keeping my vehicle, only reason is to charge more money from my insurance who passes the costs to me. AAA should not use this company. Another issue I waited almost 5 hours for the driver to come who kept canceling my tow. Only AAA provider that could come for some reason. Friendly drivers and the owner is very personable. You can tell Rafid takes pride in his business. The drivers are always knowledgeable and they have flat beds for Teslas. Their response time is great and the are AAA, so you can track in the app. They have battery service and locksmith service for vehicles, I've had to utilize these services personally. In my opinion Wind and Sea towing is unethical. They are Liars. They are unprofessional, despicable and disgusting. I would not recommend them to anyone. They delayed my tow by 5.5 hours after lying to AAA that they would be on time. When I called them, they would put me on hold and refused to explain why they were so late. At one point AAA arranged to have another tow truck company pick up my car, but they received a fraudulent call from someone, I suspect Wind and Sea Tow that canceled my tow delaying my tow even more. Called triple A for a tow this morning at 9 am to tow my car to the collision shop. AAA states the driver will be within 30 to 45 min. Their offer this really cool tracking app that shows were the truck driver is. Well what do you know at 9:20 the app shows the truck driver at my house. I go outside no tow truck wait 10 min. No tow truck. I decided to call wind and sea and the guy that answers says oh he is 5 min away. Well that's weird how is he 5 min away but showing on the tracking map being at my house for 35 minutes. Prob just scamming triple aaa services. Tow truck pulls up and what do you know he has another car on the truck. How is he going to tow my car when he already has a car. What a joke. They are liars , and deceptive When driver got here he claimed he had to take a picture of our car to send to his boss to see if it's covered for tow.. mind you they towed it to my house 3 weeks ago. If i could give zero star i would. They got called out to my Mothers home for a battery check. The battery was fine, i disconnected it because my mom was not supposed to be driving it. All i did was unhook the positive terminal. battery was fine. They would have known that if htye actually checked. so they come out, they claim they did a battery test. i told them it was not bad. they have not produced the test report for the battery. none of the paperwork my mom got showed anything about a test. they charged her $260 for a new battery that didn't need to be replaced. totally took advantage of a elderly women who has been diagnosed with dementia. I am not sure how this towing company is a AAA towing certified service. Horrible reviews, horrible service. The manager Rodey was utterly the most disrespectful person i have talked to. i have never been treated so bad by a manager as a customer before. Absolutely do not recommend them. I called AAA for a flat tire with my young children and I was on the side of the road. They originally quoted me 30 minutes then changed it for six hours when I called it kept getting pushed out 30 minutes 30 minutes 30 minutes, nobody ever showed up. Wind n Sea recently responded to my call for battery service and their service was poor; unsatisfactory in fact. This was associated with an 11 month old AAA installed "flooded battery" (i.e. one which needs to be 'watered' periodically; aka "electrolyte needs to be topped off" periodically. i.e. not an AMG or no-maintenance type battery) I had accidentally discharged the battery, unable to start the car & called AAA who sent a W&S truck. While waiting for W&S, I checked the electrolyte and found the plates were exposed (i.e. the electrolyte was low and needing addition of water) When the driver arrived, I asked him to add water. The problems started there. 1) he did not even stock distilled water for topping off the battery. 2) and he claimed that adding water would void the warranty ( later 'IVAN' ( AAA supervisor, employee # L441 at AAA headquarters in Dallas, TX) took my complaint and confirmed that the W&S driver's advice was incorrect; and in fact "adding water" was necessary for these "flooded type Lead Acid batteries and would not void the warranty. I'm curious if all the W&S employees providing battery service road service are trained to falsely advise AAA club members to not "water batteries" and that doing so would void the warranty. If AAA club members DO follow W&S's false advice (I.e. do not "add water to raise the electrolyte level) it would lead 1) to increased premature battery failures (inconveniencing club members) 2) impact the battery manufacturer Interstate by unnaturally increase its warranty losses 3) more battery service calls for W&S & artificially increase their income 4) reflect poorly on the AAA with premature battery failures. read more

Let's just start out by saying, if you get them, as your tow truck driver, call and request someone else. Honestly, makes me sick to see people out there still scamming people. Had called AAA for a tow, 20 mins down the road. Had to wait over and hour for them to even send a message saying that there on there way. Then waited almost another hour, for them to show up. Had mentioned when I had called for a tow that the car was NOT running and it was in our carport, and would need to be pushed out so that way they can then pull it up. They then had me go out and help them. I'm sorry but what ? I pay AAA so they can do the work/ tow for me, not me help them. Anyways, they then get it up there on the tow truck and take it to where I need it to be, while I follow. The guy tells me oh your all good to go, so I get in my car and start to drive off, I see in my mirror the guy waving me down, I then pull up and he says I owe him money. Sir what money do I OWE YOU ? They scammed me out of $60. I then later call AAA and they never got an invoice from them. What a BIG mess and such a HEADACHE HAVING TO DEAL WITH THEM. W&S tells me to call AAA, while AAA is telling me to call W&S ???? Never ended up getting my money back. Will NEVER use them again nor will I recommend them to ANYONE. read more

Wind N Sea Towing is a tow company contracted by AAA. We put in a call to Aaa stuck in the sand out in. Landers, California at 6:30 at night. They told us they were in route and it was supposed to be 40 minutes and two hours later even communicating with Aaa and then calling the company directly. They said they couldn't find us even though they had a direct gps pin. Then they tried again allegedly and said they couldn't get in due to the sand getting their truck stuck. they also lied and said they reached out and tried to call us and couldn't get through, I only know this because later they shot me a text communicating with me after many attempts and the dispatcher is probably tired of hearing from me. When I asked for the phone number of the driver directly, they would not give it to me. I was with my family of three children and my wife stuck in the middle of the desert until 11:30 PM and had to pay out-of-pocket for another company to come finish the do the job. All they had to do is hook on a strap and give me a 10 foot pole and I was able to back myself out unassisted Every single part of the road leading up to us was completely drivable and there was nobody ever within a mile of us because it's pitch dark by the time 10 o'clock comes around. They bare face lied to us about attempting to come and never showed up and never communicated at all, I had to call over and over to speak to the dispatcher and all he could do is get defensive. that's after over three hours. We later found out from another source that one of the drivers of this company hit and run and killed somebody at a nearby Walmart. If you should ever need AAA service and want to send this company I would suggest you insist on another. we are definitely speaking to Aaa about this company next. putting my family in danger like they did and lying about their attempts and never communicating until I actually reached out hopefully has legal recourse because I'm going to pursue it. read more

If i could give 0 stars I would. Let me start off by saying that triple AAA sent out Wind and Sea towing as their towing partner. I was waiting on my baby momma to arrive with my kids because her car wouldn't start. I couldn't get to them due to her having the only car. Mind you this all started at 8:30AM. We waited patiently, they were courteous enough to say they were running late, which is understandable. First they said 9:25AM then they retracted their statement to 10:11AM. At this point it kept getting pushed further back until they eventually stopped updating her. Manager from Wind and Sea towing called at about 2:30PM to apologize for the delay and came up with an excuse. Something in regards to an accident on the freeway and that CHP had flagged them down as a priority to move that vehicle. The service was beyond horrendous, not only did i miss out on a couple important appointments i had but it also threw off our schedules for the day. Now we have to make up for lost time sometime during the week. If triple AAA is reading this, please stop partnering with this tow business. read more

AAA members beware! Car battery won't start at 11pm - AAA connects me with wind and sea towing. An employee there says the technician will arrive before midnight. At midnight, the time of arrival gets pushed to 12:10am, then to 12:20am. Around 12:45am I call Wind and Sea, a different employee says the technician won't arrive until 1:30am. I call again at 1:45am, and they say the driver won't arrive until 2:30am. When the guy finally arrived, he looked for the battery in my trunk and couldn't find it, then he started jamming his knife into a random box under my hood. He told me to Youtube where to find the battery in a Mini Cooper, and realized he had been jamming his knife into the wrong place for 20 minutes. He proceeded to sit in my car and rip his box mod vape pen. They did not reach out to me once to update me on an eta, I had to call multiple times. They offered no apology for arriving 2.5 hrs after their original promise. Terrible service, we were stuck in an Applebees parking lot for almost 4 hours.
