KitchenAid/whirlpool uses this company in this region for repair. They are on their 4th visit today, since May. Whirlpool made the initial appointment, telling me 8-11 so I took a 1/2 day at work. Wind called at 7:55am to say tech would be here after 1pm. When I explained the situation, that I had taken a 1/2 day they would not honor whirlpool's appointment time. The tech showed up, said I needed a new motor based on what was on work order, but didn't have one and left 15 min later, telling me I could have another appointment in two weeks. Needed to take another whole day off of work. New motor didn't fix the problem. 2nd tech came, asked if previous tech "calibrated" dishwasher, did that and left. That was the third full day I had to dedicate for a 20 min visit. Machine still doesn't work. Now onto 4th visit - be available 8-4 - but they don't call until 10am to tell me tech is coming 1:30-4:30. So, another morning waiting for no reason, could have gotten errands out of the way... so, not only are their techs not able to fix machines, they don't honor the times when given by manufacturers, and even though they make appointments 2 weeks out, they are unable to schedule until day of and require you to block out entire day. This would prevent me from buying another kitchenaid or whirlpool machine as who wants to deal with a repair company that has no regard for a customer's time, doesn't send techs with equipment to fix jobs as per work order and maybe isn't that great at identifying the problem any way as they are coming for the 4th time. read more

I purchased a service plan from PC Richard for my Whirlpool Dishwasher. Once before, the top rack would not slide into the machine. I had someone come in and they fixed the problem (only they really didn't.) Yesterday, the same problem occurred and I called PC Richard who set up an appointment with Wind Service for today. I received a call this morning giving me a 2 hour window. Within that time, Octavio (technician) arrived at my home took one look at the rack and said the previous repairman (from another company) had installed the wrong size wheels. Within two minutes he repaired the problem. He was lovely, very knowledgeable and well represents the company he was worked for for more than 18 years. So I have this repair service here to repair a frig multiple times and still they have not been able to fix the frig. Still not getting cold. The last appointment they were suppose to call Whirlpool and conference in whirlpool and they did not. This is not the best Appliance repair company available.... I have been dealing with an issue on a Kitchen Aid oven with Wind service since December 5, 2016. The oven is less than 6 months old and it stopped working. Obviously, that is not to the fault of Wind, but their inability to deal with a customer and a customer service issue in a caring, efficient and effective manner is unbelievable! I contacted Kitchen Aid on 12/5/2016 to inform them that my microwave oven had stopped working to which they scheduled a tech to show up 3 days later. The tech came and assessed the issue and told me we would need 3 parts to repair the problem and that he would place the order through his company and they would contact me to schedule the follow up service call. 10 days goes by and I don't hear from anyone, so I contact Wind Services again. I asked if the parts ever came in to which they replied "no". I asked if they could tell me when they would be receiving the parts to which they replied that "they don't have good visibility into the Kitchen Aid system and they could not give me a date". The person I was speaking with said that he would contact his supervisor and that the supervisor would call me back. Needless to say, they never called back. A few days later I made another attempt with Wind Services. Again, I asked if they had the parts to which they said "No". I asked if they routinely expedited the parts orders with the manufacturers and they said "no but that I could so if I wished". I was shocked the individual made this statement. Frustrated with this utter lack of customer care I hung up with Wind and contacted Kitchen Aid directly again. I contacted Kitchen Aid and explained the situation. After some fussing and looking the person told me that they could have parts shipped to me in a few days. In early January those parts arrived but we only received 2 of the 3. I was told Wind would contact me to schedule the service appoitment which didn't happen, so I called them and scheduled a tech to arrive on the 10th of January. The same tech arrived and was disappointed that not all 3 parts had shipped. I told him that Wind was never able to place the order and have parts shipped that I had to by pass them and order the parts on my own. He replaced the two parts and after some work the unit appeared to be working. The next morning the same error message I had been receiving appeared and I was forced to contact Kitchen Aid again as the microwave was not working. That day I called them and explained the history to yet another Kitchen Aid customer service rep I asked the person if the 3rd part the control panel was in stock to which she replied "yes". I asked if she could ship it directly to me like they did the last time but this customer care rep was not open to this. She scheduled a tech visit and I told her not to schedule a visit without shipping this part. She told me that she could not order the part and that Wind Service would have to do this. I took the work order number from her and reluctantly called Wind Service again. I informed them the unit was not working and that we needed to get this 3rd part on order. I let them know that a service call had been scheduled for Tuesday January 17th via Kitchen Aid and to make sure that the tech had the 3rd part when he arrived. Not satisfied with this I wait 2 days and called them again on Thursday the 12th of January to reiterate that we would need the Control Panel when the technician arrives on Tuesday the 17th to which they ensured me would be the case. On Tuesday, the 17th the technician shows up without any parts. So, I took my 3rd day off and they still couldn't get it right. I contacted Wind and really let the person have it who was handling my situation. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he put me on hold for 12 minutes. That was Jason's idea of customer care put and irate customer on hold for 12 minutes. The issue is still not resolved and Wind is still involved. This company is horrible. They have a 2-star rating here on Yelp and I'm surprised that it is that high. What do they say even the blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally? read more

This has got to be the worse warranty service I have ever dealt with! Bought a gas dryer from Loews in Riverhead and this is their warranty place. First off, 3 weeks to make a service call. When he showed up, he said it was a vent fire!!!! He cleaned it out. When I asked him could I use it, his answer, "yes, but you could have a fire!!" He leaves and when i went to lift the lid of the washer, he had broken in!!!!! Called this place back and they told me it would take 2 weeks for the part to come in! I asked them, can't you Fed-ex it? he said NO! Run away from this place! Customer Service is Zero! I told the I had RA, which is the truth, and he said that's the wait for the washer part! After writing this, my next step is to write the BBB. Dishonesty at its best. I'm not sure how Kitchen Aid can even sponsor a company like this. The technician came to my home, spent less than 5 minutes on my refrigerator, told me it was a closed system problem, not worth repair at $3500 (for a $2,000 fridge) and charged me $105. How can I argue with the technician not knowing refrigeration repair? Rather than purchasing a new fridge, like he suggested, I called Sears and got one of their sponsored technicians out. He took a look at the system, tested the board, turned it on to check the flow, determined it should be a board problem. $400 later, my fridge is back to being new. After this debacle, I checked with a family member living in this neighborhood too (1 block away) and they first contacted Kitchen Aid about this and got THE SAME COMPANY, who did THE SAME THING. I would recommend that if anyone goes to Kitchen Aid's website to seek repair technicians, don't bother, and simply go elsewhere. read more

I wish I could could give them 0 stars. Their tech came and fixed my icemaker. He was rude with an attitude, didn't want me to see what he was doing. Turns out I couldn't find one of the shelves for the refrigerator. Then the lights on the roof of the refrigerator no longer worked. Wind Service told me the tech couldn't come back to fix the problem because he was already out of the area. I told them that wasn't true he just left my house. They told me and I quote " I am telling you he is not coming back today." I finally got the person on the phone to tell me the real reason the tech was not coming back, quote "he has personal issues" I already called PC Richards and told them never send these people to my house again. The worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life! Purchased my refrigerator 6/21/18 within a month, rust spots started showing up. A tech finally came the following October and put in an order for both doors to be replaced. Now 1/3/19 only 1 door was made by then.... really?! Fast forward to present day. They came twice within a week to our house to fix our Kitchenaid refrigerator and dishwasher. Refrigerator was a lemon, not fixable. It continued to leak into our newly installed wood cabinets throughout the week. Not their fault, all on Kitchenaid. New Dryer came in with defective component. Called Maytag Warranty Service and we diagnosed exactly what part was defective. Wind Service called for appointment and I told them what part was defective according to Whirlpool service. Tech came and agreed it was defective, but said they had to order a new one. They don't order one til they diagnose issue. The tech, with the Service Mgr on phone, told me it would be in mid-next week and we scheduled a call for the following Friday. When no one came by noon the next Friday, I called and was told there was no scheduled call. She apologized and setup another appointment. I was also NOT TOLD the part was still not in. On the morning of the 3rd Friday without a working dryer, I received a call cancelling the service call as they still didn't have the part!!!!! She said they'd reschedule for another week. I requested someone call me to confirm when the part was in as this was now my 3rd missed appointment and 3rd wasted vacation day from work, and that they come next Friday afternoon so I could work in the morning. She said she couldn't promise that. So, 3 weeks without a dryer and no commitments on the part of Wind Service. I could've gotten this part from partsservice.com or Amazon in 2 days. I find it hard to believe they couldn't get the part in 3 weeks. Very Frustrated. While I blame Maytag/Whirlpool for the defective part, I blame Wind Service for not being able to fix it in a timely manner. read more

I have a problem with a gas dryer. I scheduled service with Wind as they are on the recommended service providers on the Whirlpool web site. A technician arrived but never even looked at the dryer. He said it was a clogged vent pipe. Vent pipe was cleaned and I still have the issue. The dryer sometimes heats up, sometimes it does not. Even bypassing the venting and venting directly into the garage as suggested by the technician does not help the issue. Both times he was here he was only here for about 10 minutes, 15 at the most, and he never looked at the dryer! He was arrogant, condescending, and rude. He refused to listen to what I was telling him because he has been doing this for 10 years and knows what he is doing. On his last visit he told me he is wasting his time, didn't want to have to make this trip, and doesn't want to have to come back again. I would never recommend Wind service to anyone. I would rather purchase a new appliance than let that arrogant Wind technician back in my house. Update - I had another service company in to look at the dryer. The tech listened to my description of the problem and proceed to look at the dryer. He diagnosed the problem, replaced a part, and the dryer is working fine (btw, it wasn't a venting issue). I sent an email to Wind Service to ask for a refund for their diagnostic fee. Within 10 minutes the General Manager called me on the phone. He apologized for the work the tech performed and also on behalf of Wind Service. He said that the tech has been with him a while and that is not normal for him nor it is the way that WInd Service does business. He agreed to refund the diagnostic fee. Scheduled an appointment on 11/162015 for 11/19/2015 when asked what time the appointment would be for I was told I would be contacted on the day of 11/19/2015 for the time(which is not really a time but a window of 4 1/2 hour wait time) so I was given between the hours 10am and 2:30pm, (which all together makes your day absolutely useless). At 1:43pm the service tech shows up, immediately look at my Kitchen Aid stove and exclaimed "I have to come back another day" when I asked why, he stated that he was not told what was the problem with the stove and he doesn't have any parts...Which everyone knows that is a dishonest statement, because they have to asked what is the problem with the product along with Mod# and Serial#...How frustrating and a waste of my time and day...He then explained that he will be back on 11/25/2015 and that they will call on such date to let me know what time they will be available...This Company WIND SERVICE in Hicksville,NY need to be out of business for there very lousy service and incompetence to handle business(that's my opinion) because last year approximately the same time of year they came to Replace the computer for the same stove that is having this problem and broke my stove top and told me that it is my responsibility to pay and get the stove top fixed, after reporting them to Kitchen Aid and to a manger, they apologize and sent another tech the day before Thanksgiving to have my stove top replace...STAY AWAY...Please read on line, too many bad reviews.... read more

After waiting months for a part for my dishwasher that Wind Service said was out-of-stock, in frustration I decided to call Kitchenaid (the manufacturer) myself. Lo and behold, they said they actually had one in stock -- and didn't know why Wind Service never called them directly, rather on relying solely on their local parts distributor. Kitchenaid sent the part via expedited delivery to Wind Star, which checked it in and even logged it into their system. But never called me to inform me of that fact. When I (and Kitchenaid) spoke to someone at Wind Service, they said they didn't have the part. With no apology or explanation. When confronted with the fact that KitchenAid had actually verified that the part was signed for, they still had no explanation as to what happened to the part. Whirlpool scheduled a warranty service call from Wind between 8am and 12pm. On the day of service, Wind left a VM and provided a window of 1 to 4pm. Called them back and told the rep that my appt is for 8 to 12. Told the rep I took the day off from work - and I wouldn't be home after 3. Rep indicated that Wind decides the appointment time, not Whirlpool, and their scheduling is based on the number of service calls on the route and that Whirlpool doesn't have that information when scheduling appointments. I asked for them to come at the promised time because I took the day off from work and rep said they can't, but would be happy to reschedule for a convenient Saturday. WTF? Then why bother making appointments? Took a morning off from work based on information provided by Whirlpool not honored by Wind. Wind and Whirlpool issues shouldn't come at the expense of the customer. read more

My refrigerator and dishwasher needed service under Whirlpool. My service call was routed to Wind Service. Avin was dispatched on more than one occasion. I had intended to write a review before, and felt guilty for not having done so. AVIN WAS EXCEPTIONAL! Refrigerator doors needed replacement. Not only did he replace the doors, but he aligned the doors. AVIN adjusted the levelers and set the wheels. The previous installers retained in connection with my Costco purchase were incompetent. I had complained that the doors were not even, the handles one up the other down. Those installers ignored my complaint, and when they returned to address the complaint, they didn't even bother to correct it. Leveling the refrigerator and setting the wheels is important. Costco installers never leveled the refrigerator, which caused the freezer to "sweat" because the freezer gasket were not in the proper place. (Nor was the refrigerator door. ) Avin of Wind Service correct this. Kudos to Avin and Wind Service. read more

Like so many others I wish I didn't have to put a star. 6 months ago, I had a technician come to repair my ice machine on my built in KitchenAid, he fixed it, but didn't replace the bottom drawer properly, so I had trouble opening my cabinets near it; it continued to get worse, so he had to come back to "fix" it. He said the drawer was warped and that that happens with built ins with the cabinet front. Funny it was fine before he worked on it. Now 6 months later the refrigerator is leaking. I call them again, same technician comes and says it's a clogged drain; he unclogs it and leaves. A few hours later I can't open my freezer! I don't know if he didn't wipe out the water and it froze or if he jammed the door. I call to have someone come again to fix the damage he caused ( for the second time) and am told that no one can come for 4 days! This is after I explained I am having a party at my house in 3 days! Zero customer service!!! I asked to speak to the supervisor and was told that that was why she kept putting me on hold, to speak to him. DO NOT CALL this company!!! I wish I had read their reviews before I called them originally!!!! Came twice and screwed things up both times, and don't care! At least when the water leaked I had access to my freezer! I tried to exsplain to him that I'm not willing or comfortable assuming any liability (just in case he fell) and he instantly became aggravated and told me that I was "amazing"! Additionally, when asked for insurance they couldn't or wouldn't provide any insurance documentation. When I called their office I was told that the company only has 1 ladder and that their owner Howard will not allow the guys to even buy a $10 step stool to complete a job! They don't stand behind their work. Asked them to diagnose a leak from our refrigerator. They said it was coming from a house line and we needed a plumber. Plumber changed the line and leak continued and he told us that leak was not from house line but refrigerator itself. Correct part was ordered and replaced and leak stopped. We asked them for a refund since they got it wrong and cost us extra money for first plumber service. We did not ask for them to reimburse for the extra unnecessary work , just refund their diagnostic fee. They refused. If a company totally blows it and costs you extra money because of it they should give you a refund Its that simple. Certainly wont be calling them again and will not recommend them. After another company was rude and kept cancelling service on my NEW dishwasher (which they said was a COD call not under warranty!) Wind was called in by the retailer as my new service company. They spoke to me with respect prior to the day of service. They called me the day of service to give me a service window. And the technician called 15 minutes before he got to me. He was on time and diagnosed the small issue immediately and spent to time to level the dishwasher and make sure I was happy before he left. All three people I dealt with at Wind (male and female on the phone and the service tech) were are nice and professional and respectful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will keep their number for any other issues I may have with any of my other appliances! read more

I would not recommend this company. I had a service call, the person came didn't even look at it. Told us we would need a motor without opening anything up and checking the motor. Then told us the part would be 400.00 and it was 149.00 plus tax for him to come and look at it. I was aware of the service fee but every other place takes the service fee off of the bill when you order the part and get it fixed thru them. Not this company. **BUYER BEWARE** The tech came, he was nice and professional. Was with him the whole time and he explained every step. Took him 1 min to open up the rear, plug something in the back, heard humming and buzzing, and said it needed a compressor. Said they would order it and would call me later in the day or the next to set up an appt. Never called! I called them myself on Monday. Now the fun begins! A rep gets on, and says, they need a deposit to pay for the compressor. Told him I had a full warranty and I shouldn't have to pay for anything. Then he started to stutter and mumble, and put me on hold. At this point I got the feeling I was about to be taken for a ride. The next guy gets on, says he's the manager, and says that after realizing the compressor was bad, the tech started to investigated (not true) and realized the water lines were rusted, which killed the compressor. Since corrosion is not covered, and although they tried to get the warranty to cover it, the company still denied the claim, and I needed to pay a (large) deposit. I called the company, which told me they never denied the claim, they approved it! I explained the story to them, they sent out another company, which came, checked it out, and said "no problem, we'll fix it!" If your company sends Wind, refuse the service! read more

I was told they would call to come for a repair on my dishwasher between 8 am and 4 pm, they showed up at 7:45 am on a Sat after calling the wrong number at 7:29 am to say they were on the way. Before 8 am on a Sat is an unreasonable time unless you had already agreed, I think. The repairman left because I did not answer the phone, cause they called the wrong number, and when I called them back at 10:30 in the morning, I was told it's to late, no one can come! After the technician came back several time over two months to finally fix my Maytag washer he left a absolute mess with pieces of plastic everywhere so my pregnant wife had to clean up the mess so my 3 year old didn't get hurt. I wish I could give this place negative stars. The only reason we are stuck using this horrible company is because of a warranty. They are extremely unprofessional, customer service is horrendous. We have a brand new dishwasher, has never been used, that came out of the box broken. The technician came to assess, said it could be one of two problems, one being the control panel the other being the motor (seeing how we have never used the dishwasher, the motor seems to be the least likely issue). We have been waiting for the motor to come in for quite awhile now. The control panel, which is most likely the problem, has been in for weeks. Whirlpool called to find that information out for us, and wind service has refused to send someone in to fix the control panel to see if it was the issue. Finally got a call today about scheduling since all the parts are in, and they cannot come for over a week now. When I asked her if there is any way they can get us in seeing as we have been calling for weeks about having this issue resolved, she said no and hung up. Beyond disgusted with this company.
