I found this spot on TikTok and had to stop by because I love Thai tea and had heard they make a good one! I happened to be nearby around 10:30 a.m. not quite breakfast and not quite lunch and was surprised to see a line of people already there. That's always a good sign! All of the donuts looked fresh and there was plenty to choose from. The big item at that time seemed to be the egg rolls because everyone was ordering them! The sticky rice with chicken or sausage looked delicious, and they're already prepared and ready to go if you want to grab lunch. I was waiting and the worker started helping the guy that had just walked in while I was waiting. I used to come here a lot when I went to mclane!! The eggrolls are fire, especially when freshly fried! And best part to me is there's no meat in it. At least I dont taste any. I only see veggies but it's pretty flavorful! That's what makes it special. No meat and it's still good! The donuts are even better. I only get them in the morning if I'm up early early cus it's the freshest and most softest. Service is A1. I think it's ran by a Cambodian family. They been there forEVER!! This donut place has always been here since I was a child. I highly recommend here to get your donuts. They're amazingly affordable, tastes great, and opens early. The employees are honest workers, friendly and welcoming. Their small menus of food is great too. None are spoiled packed ugly or has no flavor. The eggrolls are super good, there's no meat in them but OMG the taste and texture are great. They don't charge for a small sauce but for the huge ones, they do. Their Thai tea is so good! I came here on a busy weekday afternoon. But I'm wholly disappointed with being overcharged and then what happened afterward. I ordered half a dozen donut holes and a dozen egg rolls. The egg rolls are $1.50 each or $12 a dozen. The total should have been $13.50 plus tax. She charged me $18.42 without flinching. I didn't ask for a receipt and paid and walked out of the store and when I realized it was almost $5 higher, I walked back in. The woman cashier didn't look impressed I was back and didn't acknowledge me, though she did have like 15 people in line. After she ignored me for a bit, I finally said that she overcharged me. She quickly asked me if I had a receipt. She knew I said no to the receipt but I showed her my credit card charge with windfall right there. She then proceeded to pay me $4 in cash even though she owed me more than that. She then never apologized or looked surprised that she overcharged me. She must do this everyday, especially considering the sign that reads "please check your cash and receipt before leaving". I wouldn't come back here. I recently began frequenting Windfall because I enjoyed the egg rolls and chicken. The egg rolls are veggie , which is fine with me because I'm not too keen on pork. They have been consistently fresh and not greasy. My gripe is the chicken plate. He( the owner) keeps upping the price and cutting corners. He never includes the spice packet that should come standard. Everywhere else I've gone includes a quantity of (3) pieces of chicken for the same price. He only gives (2) pieces. Today he cut corners again only offering ONE piece of chicken for the same price of $5.50. He justified it by saying that the chicken leg is bigger than it normally is. It was close to 11am on a a Wednesday just finished showing a house and saw the shop on the corner as I was heading back. Had a decent crowd but behind the counter 3 gals worked efficiently filling up boxes and working the registers like clock-work. Recently came across this donut shop, so had to come in and try it. First trip we got a small variety of standard donuts: donut holes, custard filled chocolate, glazed, crumb and old fashioned. We were excited about the donut holes because they had chocolate cake, glazed, powder and sugar - but, they were disappointing. The chocolate cake tasted cold and not freshly made, like they'd been refrigerated from yesterday and put out again that morning. The full sized donuts were all delicious- fresh, not greasy, dense but not heavy. I also got two egg rolls which I was surprised to see hot and ready at 6am. I also got a little container of sauce. Ohmygosh, those egg rolls are good, thin but that's ok when you're this tasty! - we've been back a couple times just for the egg rolls and sauce, and they are a good price: $1.50 for 2, I think or $5.00 for 6. You can also place big orders for a party or whatever - I will so do that. Times we've come early in the morning, it's the same older man working, he's friendly, helpful and patient. None the less I believe this spot does truly have a very tasty egg roll and much more, can be a little stuffy inside so be prepared. DON'T GO HERE! The customer service is below average, I asked for a drink without ice and got a cup that was mostly ice. The Mountain Dew taste wasn't there, it tasted like water. Clearly they don't even understand English very well. I had to repeat no ice 7 times until they understood that it wasn't what I ordered. Drink tastes like carbonated water. They hold your donuts or food hostage even after you've already paid! Get ready for that because you will have to tell them and talk loudly for them to even pay attention to you until they give you what you paid for. The lady with the thick brown drawn on eyebrows is very rude and has an attitude. I understand English isn't their first language yet they have to deal with customers all day. It's important that they can communicate with their customers accurately and get orders right! Plus not good donuts hostage when it has ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR! This places to be run by twenty something year olds before these woman. When the younger guy and girl ran it things were way smoother, communicating what you wanted and the customer service. Those people were actually kind and welcome as a business should be. They're stingy with everything don't offer you a napkin or if you ask for soy sauce for the food they won't unless you ask so many times they get annoyed. The spring rolls used to be 2 or 3 for $1 or 1.50. Now it's over 1.70 for one! It's not worth it honestly especially with how bad their customer service is. Wasted money on this carbonated water drink that's supposed to be Mountain Dew in a cup. Get the canned drink if you get something there. Donuts are okay if there isn't a big inside or a "burnt piece" low the older guy said. Honestly, I used to love doing here for her donuts but they've ruined it with their horrible customer service, stingy nature and always smashing the donuts so the icing comes off.
