My family & I came to this restaurant tonight while we are visiting Navarre for the week. We had a great meal until the end of our dinner it started to rain. Not wanting to get wet we stayed & had some drinks until they closed. As we were leaving, it was still raining & a nice worker (name Zach) walked us three girls in our party to our car with an umbrella. My partner and I came here after the Beach House was lacking food options. Dorinda was our server and she was awesome! Best service we have had while in our anniversary beach trip. It was raining the evening we decided to eat here. The hostess was not very nice. She stated that there was at least an hour wait and there was nowhere to wait that was dry. Actually asked us to move away from the podium while we were talking to her because we were in the way of the servers. It was almost as if she was trying to convince us NOT to stay. We decided to stay and went to the bar where there was karaoke. Very entertaining. Bartenders and drinks were great. I had a bushwhacker. We got our table and again, rude hostess said "sorry the chairs are wet". She didn't even give us any napkins to wipe them off. Worst meal of the vacation. We arrived at 2:30 PM to find that fish sandwiches and fish tacos were no longer available because they'd run out of mahi mahi and flounder. They had tuna and tilapia, but wouldn't do sandwiches or tacos with them. I ended up ordering the calamari. It was awful. Looked as though they had gotten squid from the bait shop next door and fried it up. It had fried shrimp tails and lots of bit and pieces. It looked like popcorm calamari. If you're looking for a great restaurant on the beach... do not come here. Hands down the worst service I've ever experienced. The hostess ignored us for 15 minutes before she took us to a table (there was no wait and plenty of spots). When we finally got to our table, our waiter said he couldn't take our order because he was choking on his cheese curds and needed some water. In fact, more of the waiters were eating food than many of the customers sitting around. We ended up waiting over an hour before we ever saw our meal. I ordered a $14 salad with blackened shrimp. Good food, great view and excellent service. Stopped here for lunch on a visit to the beach. We were greeted immediately and seated in bar with a view of the beach. I had an excellent burger (could only eat half, husband finished it) with fries, not curly but more of a thick spiral, cooked perfectly. Mike had etouffee and was very pleased with it. Chef came to mention it was a bit spicy and back to see if he enjoyed it (he did). It is not usually on menu but a special for Mardi Gras, waitress mentioned it when he ordered Gumbo, guess he was glad she did. So all in all a good experience. read more

Yikes. I can appreciate new restaurants having hiccups but this was bad. My husband and I were both servers and bartenders, so we understand mishaps and kitchen backups but this appeared to be just unapologetic apathy. It took over an hour to get our sandwiches and fries, and the chicken on the sandwiches was inedible. We let our server know when she asked how everything was, and she was peppy but unapologetic. She thanked us for letting her know but still had us pay the $11.25 for each rubber duck sandwich. She asked if we wanted a box and we said no thanks, because again...inedible. My mom asked for ginger ale and got club soda, they were missing part of our order and she rang us up on several checks because she accidentally rang them up separately and couldn't figure out how to combine them or be bothered to ask for help. I'd like the 2 hrs and 45 mins of my life back. And the $67 in rubber chickens and cold fries. Can't we get something nice on the beach? Great location, food was decent. The prices are high for what you get, but being right on the water, that is to be expected. I got grouper nuggets and a platter (red fish and shrimp) and it was a good amount of food, which made the price a little easier to live with. My fish was just slightly over cooked--not enough to send back, just a bit dry in the thinner parts. The grouper nuggets were really good, but for $15.... might not order those again, if I end up here again. It is a stellar place for beach goers, right by the pier and great views. Horrible!! Their breakfast is not worth it at all. They were out of berries and biscuits and gravy--the main reason we came. I ordered the yogurt parfait and it was suppose to come with granola. Instead it came with crushed up cereal?? Seriously, crushed up rainbow cereal??? Not what I ordered. The French toast tasted like someone popped bread into a toaster and threw a bunch of cinnamon on it. It was suppose to come with whip cream and chocolate drizzle and didn't and I still had to pay for it. I could have made it better myself (a toddler could have). Total waste of money. I only went once with a friend for lunch. I ordered my go to grilled fish tacos. Service was ok and friendly even though it was busy. You know word get around when someone new opens up a place we all have to try it. We had to keep asking for utensils and water even after we were served our meal which took about 40min (Grilled fish tacos and a burger?). The two stars go to our server I felt really bad for her she was very sweet and kept going back checking on our food if it was ready. When I got my fish tacos and took a bite, it was awful the nicest way to describe it, is it tasted and smelled like up-chuck. I couldn't eat it with the cheese they had on it. It smelled and tasted horrible I don't care how fancy of a cheese is if it doesn't taste good I'm not eating it. I requested to our server if I could have my fish tacos without cheese I tried to scoop it out but between the size of the fish and the cheese I couldn't the fish portion were tid-bits. She hesitated but said she would be right back. When she returned she said the "Chef" refused to change the way he serves his fish tacos. I either eat them his way or order something else. I ordered the sliders since I was hungry. Now let's face it, it's a shack with a bar on the Navarre Pier that serves food nothing fancy that is until you look at the overly priced food items compared to the portions you get. I don't mind paying the price asked for good quality food if I can see the actual food item not tid bits and it doesn't stink. If you want to compete with menu prices like with The Grand Marlin of Pensacola Beach (I love that place) at least they serve delicious food "art" larger portions, and they have real professional Chefs. Not one that acts like a short order cook (most haven't been professional trained to hold the title of Chef) and isn't so touchy and a bully. Bad business practices if you want to make a go of your establishment for the long haul, get a thicker skin and your nose out of the clouds. Suggestions you may want to think about fixing up your establishment at least have it look like a upscale establishment with those prices; not a shack with a bar that has a pricey menu. read more

Would give negative stars. First off we all got waters because it was hot outside and the drinks were overpriced. The waitress rolls her eyes at us. I asked what vegan options they had and she looked at me disgusted and sad salad with attitude. Food took awhile to come out but wasn't a big deal. When we first entered they told us we had to be with an adult but one of us was 18 so they sat us. After we ate our overpriced meal we got ready to pay in cash. She asked us if we could wanted our change back and we said yes. We were going to tip what she came back with plus a little extra, looking past the crappy service. We got our change back and got ready to leave a tip and leave. Then who I guess was a manager came up to us and said: this is why we don't seat minors you are a waste of my time, While our 20% tip was sitting on the table. The lady told us how they only make 2 dollars an hour. Like that's our fault?? After she made it clear we were a waste of their time we took the tip and left. Never go here. Went last Saturday for first time. My mom was visiting and thought it would be nice. Bad service right out of the gate but that was not the worst. Our food came, my fries were cold. I started eating my chicken sandwich and after a couple of bites, a piece of metal wire came out of sandwich. Of course that was the end of my eating. I asked fot the.manager , he came over looked at wire and said oh its part of the brush we clean the grill with. What he said next floored me. "Asked if I examined the rest of the sandwich for anymore , then said it should be okay to eat...are you kidding me. Who is running tbis place. I said no way, he then offered to bring something else, I reluctantly said ok on some pork rines. Then the bill came and they removed the sandwich but charged for.pork rines. I will never go back..it is not safe to eat at this place..I was lucky not to end up in emergency room....save yourself and drive down to pensacola beach or Destin to eat.
