I purchased an older home and wanted to replace the windows before moving in. I requested a quote because they are offering a 'buy 2 get 2 free' deal. I was already skeptical because it seems too good to be true. If they can give away windows at half price and still make money, then they markup must be astronomical. But my wife insisted that we get a quote anyhow. They promptly called me back to schedule an 'risk-free consultation'. I explained that I needed only entry level windows because we are considering a major remodel in a few years and will likely get high-end windows then. The windows I want for the time being are only for safety reasons, because the original windows in the house are not tempered glass. I reiterated that I wanted entry level windows with the person who scheduled my appointment and was told that this was not an issue. They requested that both me and my wife were available for the consultation. I texted my wife while on the phone and she said she could make the appointment. We agreed to 9am the next morning. The next morning at 8:18am i received a phone call. At first, I was told that the 'design consultant' couldn't find the address in the zip code that I gave them. Somehow, the person who scheduled the consultation put in the wrong zip code. Ok. problem solved, right? No. Then, while still on the phone, the dispatcher said that the 'design consultant' was already at my property and it was an empty lot. I informed her that I was standing on the property waiting and it was not an empty lot. THEN, they claimed that I gave them the location of my current home. When I said that was incorrect, they put me on hold for about 10 minutes, and finally they assured me that the 'design consultant' would be there by my scheduled 9am appointment. At 9am, the 'design consultant' was not there. My wife had to leave. She is a nurse, and has a schedule. I called the dispatcher back at 9:02am. I was told that it would be best to reschedule. I explained that I can't just keep missing work for appointments, and that this appointment was the one I asked for time off to attend. I was put on hold again. Finally after being on the phone waiting for over 10 minutes they said that they would have the 'design consultant' contact me. Finally at 9:16, the 'design consultant' arrived. He was friendly enough, but seemed more interested in how I found the property and why i purchased it. We went inside the house and he just stood there staring at the one window in the living room. I told him I wanted single hung windows, that would be repurposed for my workshop when we renovate in a few years. He told me "They didn't tell me you wanted entry level windows. I didn't bring the information that I needed." WHAT? don't you take your 'information' everywhere you go? I asked how he didn't have all his 'information'. He said that Window Nation doesn't do entry level windows. I said "Well, then just take some measurements, and send me a quote on the different options when you go back to the office and get your 'information'.". He just stood there. Literally stood there staring at me like I was speaking a different language. SO i asked "Aren't you going to measure them?" He said "No." just like that. flat out refused to even measure or quote me. With that I told him, "I guess we were done." and turned out the lights as we left. I got the impression that as soon as I started talking about exactly what I wanted, and told him that I didn't want him to sell me windows that I don't need at the moment, he realized that I was an informed consumer and immediately became uninterested in my business. Window Nation doesn't want to sell you affordable windows. Their sales and deals are gimmicks designed to fool customers into buying overpriced windows. They are only in it for the easy money and to take advantage of the naive. When you call to schedule, they will tell you that both homeowners need to be there at the same time because it is 'the law'. This is a lie. There is no such law. They tell you this because it is a high-pressure sales tactic in order to get people to sign on the spot. It eliminated the "well, i want to talk to my wife about it later" excuse. In the matter of 2 hours they screwed up, tried blaming me, and then lied about me giving the wrong address, the address I gave was an empty lot, the 'design consultant' was there already, they didn't tell me to bring the correct information for entry level windows, we don't sell entry level windows, told me to reschedule, and were late. Reading the other reviews on yelp makes me realize that my experience is not unique. read more

Horrible company, if I went into full detail about all of our problems, there wouldn't be enough room on this form. 1st; It took forever to get the windows. We filled multiple complaints before install and tried to cancel our contract to no avail. 2nd: A window was missimg upon install. 3rd: Almost a month later the missing window arrives minus the screen. We have to wait even longer for the screen. While all that was going on, we noticed missing screw caps and a missing latch for the screen on the slider. It took several emails and calls to get them to understand what a screen latch was. They had to come back out to fix all of that. They had to come out yet again to correct mistakes on our smallest window. This was all between May and September of 2020. We thought there were problems with the windows, but had a very mild start to winter so it wasn't too noticeable. Here comes Christmas, we finally get cold weather and start freezing to death. I reported it immediately and was promised a visit on Monday 12-28. I was thinking geez, good service! Boy was I wrong. I got every excuse in the book. Finally someone comes out Jan 7 and determined all of the windows were installed wrong. We were to have emergency service the next week. Here we are at Jan 21st! These people canceled our service work twice! The 2nd cancellation was infuriating! I called them in the morning to make sure they weren't going to cancel again and they wait until after 3 P.M. to cancel again. We are done with them. We have told them repeatedly that this is an emergency but they don't care. Unfortunately for us, we must get another company out here to remove 8 month old windows and replace them! My saga started last November, 2017, when I ordered a bay window for my living room and several regular windows for other rooms. Two months after the order, the windows were finally in and installed. The bay window is large - over $5,000 of the order - and seemed the wrong size for the opening. The installers worked for some time, and did finally get it in. (They spoke another language so I was unable to communicate with them.) The trim was the wrong size, and doesn't cover the damaged wall. The sales rep flew through - looked quickly at the windows - and called it excellent. In October, the side panel fractured and the top glass fell out. I contacted customer service in October, 2018, sent pictures, and the customer service rep forwarded them to service. I had a call back a couple of days later stating that a replacement window had been ordered and I would receive a call when in. It is now mid January, 2019, with no call backs, nothing. There is now water damage inside in another area. I have contacted the company several times, with nothing at all from the service department. I'm very disappointed. Window Nation is not what sales man claimed their "Superior Service", the price what I paid for is not justified!!! I signed contract on July 1 and salesman told me no the window installation will be no later than Second week of October. After month goes by I called up the office and checked the order status, they told me it will be likely delayed to in the middle of November. I tried to reach manager and one is on vocation and another one is not reachable and I escalated to higher manager which is North Eastern general manager and explained to him my situation and I need to have window installed so that I can sell the house. I cannot have this delayed and the conversation did not went well and no helpful. When I try to cancel the contract, he refuse to cancel it and told me if I cancel it, they will keep the deposit and I have to pay the remaining balance according to the contract. But he denied the fact that delayed installation already violated contract and should issue the full refund of deposit. The second issue is the back office support is not "Superior Service" as they claimed. The date they scheduled is 100% chance of rain and I called office prior day at noon and to confirm if they will install the window due to weather because I have to drive three hours to that house from my home. The office rep could not call through to the window install contractor to confirm the installation. She told me if I cancel the appointment, they will charge $250 cancelation fee. Then contractor called me in the morning at 7:00am on installation day and tell me the installation canceled due to rain. at that morning, I already drove 3hours to the house. The second appointment was scheduled on Saturday and I got call and email to confirm installation on following Monday which is the window installation is done. What a "Superior Service"! When window installer come to the house and doing final measurement and find out all window measurement are wrong, The actual window size is 1" larger and family room windows height is smaller at least 2". I ordered 7 vinyl windows and cost me $8000 because I trusted their "Superior Service". If you want to use this contractor, think twice! What they are doing is just like Home Depot and Lowe's doing with big differences are poor custom service and no customer satisfaction guaranteed! read more

we were going to put windows in the house if we could get financing, they told us it would be 6.99% on financing, they processed the paperwork and than called the next day and told us that it was going to be 21.99%, I said no thank you we would like our deposit of 250.00 back, it is now a week later and we are getting the run around about getting the deposit back. I would like to share my experience and recommendations when it comes to selecting a window replacement company. All companies would claim their windows are the best, but when you compare all, you won't find much difference. First of all, do not come under pressure, not matter how good price quote do they put in front of you and ask to sign same day deal, never ever, simply say you would not sign it today, compare with others and then get back to them. So far I got 4 estimates for 24 windows, double hung, low-e, grid, double pan. Weather Master 4700 series & premium series, Window Nation Vytex series (Georgetown), Capitol Window Vytex series (CleareView), Window World 4000 series. WeatherMaster and Window World would give you reasonable estimate, Window Nation and Capital Window would start with bullshit prices, then come down and still would give you an outrageous estimate. Now the fun part of the of the story. First estimate I got from WeatherMaster, reasonable estimate of 10.5k to 14k for their 4700 and premium models. Then comes Window Nation, start with 31k, running discounts and came down to 21.5k, when I told the sales rep it's still way high than my other company estimate, the guy went into his car, came back after few mins and said, he talked to his manager and can give me one time deal I have to sign today for around 15.5k. I said I would not sign anything until I get all my estimates comparing quality/prices and told him I got WeatherMaster estimate for less than 13k and showed him the estimate. The guy left cursing himself, later on I received an email from his manager coming offering me 12.9k. So you see, estimate started with 31k and then came all the way down to 12.9k. WindowWorld has always fixed prices quote, I have used them before for my rental properties and they are okay for their price. Always get WindowWorld estimate first and then bring the other vendors to their knees showing WindowsWorld quote. They may say, oh, you wanna go with Cheap quality window, tell the guy you can show him meter reading test with WindowWorld with same heat protection reading on the meter as their so called high quality window to shut their mouth. WindowsWorld can do more business if they can improve their vinyl quality little more to compete with others. Points to be noted: Pay attention to their Shash construction, more chamber more strength, Vinyl built, have a feel of it visually and construction wise, prefer company with quick replacement possible in one day with big crew. I have chosen WeatherMaster, as their premium model price is little higher than WindowsWorld, remember you will be using your lowest quote to bring others down, do not care the difference, remember in my case Window Nation came down to 12.9k from 31.5k, do not come under pressure and think you would feel embarrass. Window Nation installed 11 single-hung vinyl windows in my townhouse in Alexandria, VA in 2012. The windows are pretty good and had lifetime warranty for both parts and labor. However, when I called to request warranty repair for 1 of the windows with a small part broken in 2019, it was almost impossible to schedule for a service. I had to call almost every other day for about 2 month, and after a long complain with multiple departments I finally was able to schedule a service on Saturday. Guess what. They missed the appointment and never reached out to me to explain the reason. They will keep avoiding customer's service request calls again until the customer ends up giving it up. I will never use this company's service and products again and do not recommend to any others for this reason. read more

Hey everyone! Installation crews for Window Nation were amazing, but when a problem arose on WN's side, customer service tanked. Administrative follow-through and internal communication needs loads of work. Difficult to arrive at acceptable resolution when passed around by phone or when there's no response to automated, online survey, or unreturned phone calls - repeated attempts, messages left. Solution: shop wisely. Some local companies make great windows too. Tip: If you have a good, local roofer, ask them for their opinion. Good roofers know good window guys - heck sometimes the roofer is also a window guy! Big name companies with promotional materials, coupons and sales teams all mean big dollars for the consumer which is cool when service is top notch. This experience not so much. It was a bad start with this company- first they keep asking if anyone else needed to be there to make a decision- and then they corner me to make a decision. So as a person who needs to think about the decision because we are talking about money here - I was told they have a 24 hours respond policy! Which is wrong- I finally made a decision and the sales persone read my text and didn't even respond. 4 days later and nothing, so much for their policy! Not a trustworthy company. I purchased about 20 windows from Window Nation (WN). The sales experience was fine. The installation team was polite (reason why I am not giving just 1 star). But in regards to the windows per se, turns out that WN passes the order to a supplier, who does not fabricate windows in accordance to what the WN's brochure says you are going to get. Not a single one of the windows I received meets the characteristics WN offered in their brochure. They do not meet the same energy efficiency grade of the type of windows I ordered. After 6 months of numerous phone calls and emails, nobody at WN was able to show any proof regarding the true quality of these windows. In the process, I discovered that the alleged quality-control process that each window is supposed to pass at the factory, does not actually happen. These are all sales-promises, that in the end are not actually fulfilled. I told them that two of the windows appear to be leaking now, but they didn't care. Nobody came to see them. All WN cares is to secure the sale, collect their money, and then you get stuck with whatever the third party supplier decides to deliver. Not trustworthy at all. read more

Just had a meeting with WN and now feel I am the victim of deceptive advertising. The BOGO is BS! Having been a homeowner for a number of years, I knew it could be interesting, but it became ridiculous. After expecting an medium range window through WN may be between $800-1000 and if I were to purchase 14 avg windows, I would avg $400 - 500 per window. Not the case at all. There math is much different than their advertisement! You get three prices: list, %30 discount with 0% financing and then buy today price! The costs ranged from over $20,000 down to over$12,000. Basically, over $800 a window. What they did not know though, if they had been up front on all, I was in position to possibly buy 22 windows. This place has more excuses than my 9 year old trying to get out of chores. People quit, never got our call, trucks broke down. Seems like every time we need to contact them, no one is there. We had a window nation sales rep come to the house and give us the spiel. He finished with the pricing. 20 windows for 22,000. Unless we signed that day then it would be 18,000. I really despise the sign today scam. He told us it was to save the company from having to send him back out to sign paperwork. I call BS. We started to smell a rat so we let him walk and called other companies for a quote. The next day someone from window nation emailed us a quote for the same 20 windows for 12,000!!! 6k less than the salesman quoted us! She said it was a manufacturer discount...can you imagine if we signed with him and wasted 6k!!! What a scam. It was so shady we decided we couldn't trust anything they told us. read more

Another company paints the trim So you deal with the salesman, then the install operations and a painter which you pay directly. I inquired about an estimate online which required me to enter my phone number. Since then I have received no less than 5 phone calls per day from them during business hours. I work in a setting in which I cannot take phone calls. WN only left a message once. When I finally was able to take one of their calls I expressed my displeasure with all of the phone calls and the woman "said sorry...let's get your appointment set up." I explained that I didn't want to do business with a place that doesn't respect its customers' privacy! She again said sorry about that and proceeded with the sales pitch. read more

Most recently I've been trying to replace my entry door with them, and have had a horrible experience just getting them to be responsive and have the right materials to move forward with my project. (I'd really give them 2 1/2 stars). My experience with Window Nation is fair. It's fair because of a combination of events that led up to me actually RECEIVING the windows. It's also fair because of their installation practices which, while I understand, I don't necessarily agree with. I initially called to have a sales person talk to me. I was told that that would take 48 hours. No response. 2 weeks later I called and was told that my name was in the system and no one was sure why I hadn't received a returned call. I set up an appt with the sales person and they neither showed up NOR did they call. After a few months I decided to do this again. This time a sales person came and we went over everything. Because my condo was built in the 40's, I was asked if there was lead. I didn't think so because it had been renovated in the 90's, but I couldn't say for sure. I was told that the measurer would test for lead. If there was lead, then I would pay extra to have the windows hauled away. Ok. The measurer didn't test for lead. When I asked him about that he said "we're assuming you have lead." REALLY!? I went out and bought my own test kit and I did indeed have lead. If that test had been negative, I would have had to fight that. My appt was between 8 and 10. They didn't arrive until 11:30. To the installers credit (Frazier), he did call twice to let me know the status and I appreciate that, but there was an error at that shop that caused the delay. I had shades which they removed to install the windows. I was told that I couldn't put them back up until 6 that evening (the windows were finished by 3.) I was not prepared to have to reinstall my shades, but living on the first floor of the building, I didn't want people looking into my home. There HAS to be some faster drying caulk out there. 3 hours was also not enough time for it to dry so I had no shades overnight. I wasn't happy about that AND reinstalling them in the morning was a SERIOUS task. That might be the right practice, but surely there's something that can be done differently here. Because of the lead, I was told that the haul away fee would be $200. When Frazier showed me the paperwork it said $260. I told him that I was only paying the quote that I was given and he said that he would take my payment back to the office. The windows look good and in the winter I'll see if they keep the cold air out, but it took me a lot to get to this point. Because of my experience I can only give 2 1/2 stars. Contract was signed 4/19 to get entire house and garage windows and siding. Schedule date for windows was the last Saturday in May, and siding was verbally agreed to be the first Monday in June. We were getting two doors turned into windows, which they knew would expose the wood on the outside of the house until the siding was placed. Windows got placed without an issue and the installation team was very professional.. There was no communication that week on siding other than "material isn't in". My husband attempted to call or email every day from then out, only to reach lower level service people that would say they can't do anything except put notes in the computer for someone to call us. The notes said to call us within 24 hours emergently, however we never received a call until this week, 5 weeks later. Someone on their end had said they would have a manager call us to discuss compensation due to their lateness and lack of communication, however all they agreed to was $750 off after arguing back and forth. $750 off an entire house and garage job (5600 so ft house) They have been impossible to get a hold off and extremely unprofessional in their lack of caring about their customers schedules. On top of that, we have had exposed wood for 5 weeks now during many storms. When we originally called Window Nation years ago for a quote, they never showed up to the scheduled appointment at all. However they continued to have sales reps call us from different numbers every 2 days, because we had to keep blocking the ones that were calling. We decided to go with them because of the sale they had during COVID. I recommend going with a more trustworthy company. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR BORDERLINE FRAUDULENT SALES TACTICS. This borders on the level of a scam to take advantage of buyers without the time, patience, or ability to wait due to a failure of a window. I cannot speak for their work or product because I did not end up choosing them to replace the windows of my house because of this. Here is what happened: Upon their first visit for a free quote, which did not include any specific measurements, Emmanuel informed us that the windows we chose (mid grade, vinyl) would cost $20,062 for replacing 14 windows. This without their current "Buy 1 window, Get 1 Free" program, with 7 free windows, 7 paid, and 14 installations. With the promotion it would cost $15,603. Upon saying no, we were told there was another promotion possibly being extended for October by the manufacturer which brought total down to $10,417, but only if we chose to purchase right away and that price was only good for 24 hours. Not once did they tell me the individual cost of the window model per window or what installation costs per hour even when I asked. This meeting included statements by Emmanuel of "well what do you expect to pay for windows?" And "Whatever you think it is, it's usually double." Common tactic used to raise your expectations of cost, and thus make you feel you're getting a good "deal." When the follow-up email came next day the "Final promotional price" was $9,687. So I asked for a cost break down of what everything would cost for the windows we chose, and how the promotions we're being applied. The response I received back was, "Since the windows include installation/supplies/clean-up/haul away is not broken out for us.  The sales are entered into our software app in our iPad.  However, the labor cost is approximately 30% of the windows." ... This is another red flag that they can not tell me what each window is costing. I email back that I do not mind waiting for that information to be gathered, as I'm still getting quotes from other vendors. Instead of receiving an email back (which would provide a written answer) Jane calls me and says, "we do not keep the information of individual costs for each window so they cannot provide me with a breakdown." I ask what is the 30% installation charge based off of if you don't keep prices of the windows, and she says, "it roughly amounts to 30% of the total." (This means it's not billed at a specific rate, but instead written as a certain amount based on the price you agree to pay). The nail in the coffin of this conversation was I asked, "How much is coming off my bill with the Buy 1 Get 1 window free promotion then, if it's not known how much a window costs? How do I know I'm getting the deal I'm told I'm getting?" She said, "I don't know what to tell you, we bill it out as a total, not broken down." All this means simply Window Nation does not tell you what costs what at all, be it windows low, mid, or high tier, installation, cleanup, or what they credit you for window buy back (another program Emmanuel mentioned), or the promotional rates on individual windows. They charge you simply what you're willing to pay. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I'm appalled as a consumer and felt the need to inform you. read more

I called for an estimate after seeing an add buy 2 windows get two free with free interest for a year and a half. The estimate was largely inflated. Upon inquiry, they added a 23% interest rate IN THE ESTIMATE. The buy 2 is for the window only and not the labor and the amount the estimate came to was incredibly high. They also don't do their own install but contract out! I have no idea how these guys stay in business AT ALL. read more

Initially thought we were getting a fairly competitive deal, and great service. Unfortunately, at our initial installation date, two of our eight windows did not show up, and none of the screens were delivered. They came back approximately two weeks later and installed the missing windows, however it has now been about six weeks and we still do not have any screens. Window Nation has no idea when the screens will come in, and has not attempted to find another manufacturer. They have stated that their current screen manufacturer is running behind, and they do not see this as their fault. Would not recommend their service read more

I will not recommend this company to for Windows or anything at this point salesperson came out and measured we sat and talked about the product and the cost that was in April 16th 2021 and the first part of June I started calling them to find out when my windows would be installed They couldn't tell me Wait a couple of weeks called back then they started telling me we see that they're in route never did anyone call me to tell me they was a problem with making the windows I had to keep calling this week of July every day before I could speak to a supervisor and we paid in full for a windows we don't owe them nothing we pay for products that we did not receive and couldn't get no answers on I was told today July the 7th that they should at their facility on the 9th and someone will call me I don't want to post a sign I don't want them calling me to ask me for my future projects because when you can't be kept updated for products that you've paid for put a deposit on and you have to keep calling and nobody returns your call That's very bad business They need to stop advertising for people to use their company for any kind of projects They couldn't build a dog house for me for free we don't owe them any money and this is how you treat your customers and you want to know each other and I sent them two other customers that got their windows and they ordered weeks after I ordered mine something's wrong with that picture and we used the same salesperson Kenny bad business practices and the customer does not come first read more

I really wish I could review this company's product and/or service, but I can't even get them to give me a price quote. I called on 4/19/21 and explained that we have a 3 light French door out to the patio that we wanted replaced. I was told that someone would contact us within 24-48 hours. That was a fact. The same evening I received an email from a rep who asked if we wanted a steel or fiberglass door. Apparently he was under the impression that we wanted an entry door? He stated that, to save time, he would use "satellite imagery" and give us a quote. I replied with an explanation of what we were really in the market for, and that I felt like we needed a live meeting to go over some of the many options listed on Window Nation's website. I never heard back from the man. On 4/29/21, 10 days later, I called again and asked if anyone was interested in providing us an estimate. I did request that someone other than the gentleman who ghosted us make the call. The lady said she would "get this to a manager" and that someone would "get back to you right away". We hired Windows Nation to replace 12 windows in our house. It was a big project but they did an excellent job, arrived on time, listened to our requirements and preferences, cleaned up after themselves and finished the project on time. We absolutely loved working with our sales rep Montina Vital, who was not pushy at all, very helpful, very responsive to all our questions before/during/after the project and came by to check on the progress as well. Window Nation's presentation of the products and methods are not adhered to. The windows selected are marketed as a WN brand are actually from Alside. The mold inhibitor was not used. The windows were not foamed, leaving gaps up to 2 inches wide and open to the interior walls. The Alside rep was responsive when contacted and had their team return to cut back, properly seal and cap all windows. Andre and Alex did a proper job on the return visit. I like the appearance and quality of the Alside windows. Requested interior cut backs and am pleased with the finish. Had the initial install been done correctly my rating would be 4 to 5. Watch how the installers do each window. WN could learn from Horizon on how a job is properly executed. read more

We love our new windows. We feel like for the product we received we got a pretty good price. The only thing that holds be back from a 5 star is a surprise we had NO idea was going to happen. Basically with the new window install the entire window seal is gone, so our blinds had to go bye bye because there is now no room to hang the bracket. I wish we had been warned during the measure I wouldn't have spent all this money on nice new blinds. Other than that the install was quick and easy, the men working were very respectful of our home. This company is a complete scam. Stay away! I got a quote to install an exterior sliding glass door. I was excited to look into Window Nation initially because I got a coupon in an advertisement for 500 dollars off all their doors. The project was to add a door where one did not exist, so it also required construction labor. They quoted me an incredible $2,700 for the door an $1,200 dollars for the labor. That's a ridiculous total of $3,900. I asked the sales guy about the 500 dollar off the door and he said you can't use two promotions. So I asked him what other promotion am I using. He had the nerve to tell me that he was giving me the door half off putting the actual value of the door at 5,400 dollars! I asked him what that promotion was and when it expires. He said its an ongoing promotion that they offer everyone all the time. So I told him that I'm not an idiot and that basically means the promo I got in the advertisement was fake because I could never use it because they always offer a promo of "half off". I went to Lowes and bought an even better quality door for 1000 dollars and had it installed by a contractor for 800 dollars for a total of 1800 dollars. $1800 vs the $3,900 dollars Window Nation wanted... Salesman: As soon as he realized that I'm not interested in doing business with them, he suddenly changed his face and almost mocked our family and was very disrespectful. Just because I didn't buy your service (AT THE MOMENT), it doesn't mean that I'm done with you. You guys need to LEARN how to manage your post-business. Save yourself a lot of headaches... do NOT USE WINDOW NATION. Kuddos to the sales guy who came to our house because I am convinced he could sell umbrellas in the sahara dessert.... His demo was impressive and he raved about all of the Pittsburgh Steelers' homes he had done. From there, it went completely down hill. The list of issues goes ON and ON... too many to list... wrong windows ordered over and over, broken glass, windows that leak, sloppy caulking, promises that were never kept. I am currently holding payment on the last invoice until the final issues are resolved. I dont know how they can get so many things wrong, and then REPEAT the same problem when they come out to fix it. read more
