They said they'd take everything with them but they did leave two of the window frames in our front yard, I think by accident.

After reaching out to several other window companies, we knew that once Jim from Windows Pittsburgh stopped by to provide us with a quote, his company was the one that we wanted to to go with. From the moment Jim, the owner of Windows Pittsburgh, stopped by he was completely professional and made sure to keep our consultation around an hour, which we appreciated. We went back and forth for weeks about grids and colors, and Jim was extremely patient and didn't pressure us at all during this time. For anyone who has shopped for windows, you would understand how "sales-pitchy" these consultations can be. Jim did not make us feel pressured or rushed in to a decision what so ever. He was just a good, local guy, who was thankful to do business with us. Windows Pittsburgh is locally owned, and operated. I liked this because I knew that we were giving back to our community vs. giving in to the larger window companies. After our initial consultation we did have one person come to get exact measurements, and then our actual instillation was approx. 4 months after our order. The installation was scheduled for three days, but it only took the installers two days total. I can not speak highly enough about the installation process because they really took their time to do things right, and cleaned up (very well) as they moved throughout the house. Drop cloths were used on the floors, and they swept and cleaned up after each window. I didn't worry at any time about broken glass, nails, etc. They did a fantastic job, and even wiped and cleaned the new windows (they will never be this clean again!) When I met with Jim initially, I told him that I heard of Windows Pittsburgh from Yelp. He seemed surprised by this, because he doesn't use Yelp for advertising anymore. As you know, this company isn't as heavily broadcasted in the Pittsburgh area. I'm hoping that our review gets noticed, and that anyone looking for new windows or exterior doors in the Pittsburgh area will consider using Windows Pittsburgh, they will really do a great job and you will be happy with the results!

Prices were very good and the quality is top notch. The installation was a breeze! The guys were courteous of my toddler and my house. They cleaned up everything and hauled away all trash. Would recommend Windows Pittsburgh to absolutely everyone.

The windows make a huge difference both in terms of letting light in and also insulating the house. I especially like that the windows were custom made and they did a great job with the metal trim. Scheduling was easy and windows were installed on time and finished early. Installation team was very professional and did an outstanding job. The trouble began at the end of the installation. We were asked to sign a completion certificate, which I completed before the installer left. No indication of any trouble. A week later received a message that they required my spouse's signature on the completion certificate. We were confused because we had signed it. We logged onto a link provided and resigned. Continue to receive notices that they had not received it, but just figured that the system was behind in updating since just a few days passed. Week and a half later received a very rude phone call from the accounting department staff member. This person threatened to turn us over to collections for payment because we didn't sign the form and Andersen's own finance company would not release the funds to Andersen till it was signed, certifying the job was acceptable. As busy professionals and preparing for a family wedding it was exhausting to try to log on and continue to sign a document you've already signed twice. Threatening a collection company on customers with outstanding credit, just a few days after job completion, with a delay due to confusing circumstances and not lack of trying to pay, is unacceptable professional behavior. Why wasn't this identified at the time the completion document was first signed? Again, the installers, the sales person, everyone else was professional. The accounting department person showed no empathy and needs training or other employment.

Let me start with the good: Most of the people that work at UWD are nice…read more I don't usually write reviews unless they are good, so this should speak loudly. And there were many, many calls made and many system problems but I will only write about the bigger problems. It was one hot mess. Now the bad and ugly: If you ever get a rep named KIKi - hang up immediately. Call back and wait until you can talk to someone named Ashanti. Crystal isn't bad either, she is nice but she doesn't really try to process the issues and just says she will send an email to someone else, but those people rarely call back. You have to make repeated calls for every issue (and there were many!!) I had to deal with KiKi a few times during my 2 phases of a 3 phase project and she is as nasty as they come. If I really was going to describe her, I would use a curse word, but I will keep this nice. She seems like a bitter old woman who likes to just have power over a customer, when she is actually a customer "service" representative. She has no skills in this area. She can answer a phone and that is it. And actually - most of the time when you call Customer Service, you get their voice mail and it takes them days (and sometimes never) to call back. You have to keep calling to try to get a person. As for the windows - I have used them before for 3 other homes. They are a good middle-of-the-road product. They work fine and look ok too. The new thing with these 2 projects (and they did not tell me about the new kind of screens) is the screens really are not to be removed, so forget a room air conditioner. So if you need/want to take them in/out for cleaning or AC, talk to sales rep about other kind of screens. Now for company - yikes!!!! One hand has NO IDEA what the other hand is doing. I go to Florida for the winter. My sales rep (Robert - nice kid) knew the windows had to be put in by 3rd week of October before we left town. "No problem". At about the first week of October (two weeks left before I had to leave) I called in to see if we could get an install date. They said "oops, there is a problem with the outside color of one of the windows" They need me to pick another color so they can order the windows" What?!?!?! Order them??? It takes at least 6 weeks to make them. They were to be installed in two weeks. So they had to re-order the whole project and hold my windows in a warehouse until I got back in April. I agreed to pay this by financing at 0% for 36 months. I was told that when the project was complete, I would need to give clearance to finance company to "go ahead with financing and begin paying about 1 month after windows installed after I was satisfied with completion of project". Well the clock for 36 months started ticking in October - 6 months before windows installed, so now my monthly payments need to be higher to pay it off before it goes to a higher interest rate. Another major problem. I replaced the picture window, which is the feature of the house, overlooking the river. The main reason I replaced it was "for the view". The old window likely had a break in the seal so some moisture seemed to be in there. I did it for the view. When they left there were horrible marks on the window (see picture). My husband broke his foot on a ladder in the past and I didn't want him going to the second floor on a ladder (balance not great). When I finally got them to send someone out, it was the guy doing the final measure for Phase 2. OMG! He is likely in his late 70s, frail, and not that steady. He had no equipment. He was going to use paper towel (which have oil and smear). I gave him rags to use. He did a few quick wipes and was very scared. I put my ottomans under the ladder because I was scared to death and prayed the whole time. I called the company back and they said "that is all we have". I had to hired someone and paid $350 to a young man to come and clean it. As a note: when the second team came to install the windows - they were immaculate, kept cleaning the windows over and over, looking from inside and out many times until "they were perfect" - and they were. The funny thing is - they were not employees, they were subcontractors. The best employees that I dealt with in this year were actually a subcontracted party that installed all of Phase 2. This is really something (it was not their own employees that were the best face of the company) I could go on and on with one problem after another. I felt like I had a part time job just keeping this company on task for over one year. Crazy and horrible run company. It was much more of a system problem than and employee problem. Like I said, many of the employees were nice, except KiKi. But isn't it something how one person can give the company a bad reputation. I worked in hospital administration for years and would never have tolerated this kind of behavior or system gaps. I know it is only windows, not p
