Unbelievable story to share. I ordered a replacement window screen from one Mike Sakamoto at this company in December 2021. He took my order, contract and all, and then proceeded to tell me for over a year and a half that my order was coming just delayed. First, covid production backup, but then in 2023, it was scheduled in March, on the truck, any week now, etc. until I called his sales manager Carl to find out there was never any order! What kind of a salesman lies to a customer about an order for fun? Carl didn't honor the order so I think this company earns no stars. Got my screen one month later from another company. read more

Terrific experience working with Jeff Grant on a complicated quote for windows. He was very knowledgeable about the product (Loewen windows) and made helpful suggestions that were tailored to our specific project. Also very quick response times. Wow, I am surprised by the reviews. We've purchased doors (outward swinging French doors - Therma-Tru Doors) and windows (Anderson 100 Series) from Windows Doors & More and have had good eperiences with them both times both times. Their prices were better than Home Depot and Lowe's, and for better quality products. We've worked with Chris Hall. He and Marjean Jackson always back to you ASAP. Terrible salesmanship by the owner. Came prepared with floor plan and list of 10 interior doors I need for a new construction and was told that if I don't know what doors I want he can't help me. Their website says: "Not sure where to start? Contact us today for a no-pressure consultation session." It was obvious he was not interested in my needs. I am writing this because Windows Doors & More (WDM) apparently contacted DEX Online to have them delete the review I'd posted there. In any case, it's gone. Prior to that, the owner, Rick Locke, figured out my identity, contacted me by email, and made the following statement: "First of all I apologize that it took so long to respond to your initial inquiry. We should have responded immediately and provided a range of solutions including having parts sent to you so you could fix it yourself. Being non-critical (no safety or weather intrusion issues) coupled with being geographically removed from our day to day service area caused your request to be delayed. Nick [WDM field service manager] was waiting on an opportunity when he would be in your area to minimize the cost to you. While I admit that our delay shows poor customer service in your case, I can assure you that your situation is unique. Is there more to the story that I am unaware of that resulted in such an extreme statement in your review urging other customers to not do business with us?" My response: "Thanks for your explanation. I recognize the problem with the location. The delayed response wasn't the main issue. It was [that] I asked Nick to explain how he charged for service calls (three times) and he never answered my question. He did try to arrange a service call and minimize the cost, but without that answer I wouldn't have wanted him to come out. (I have had bad experiences with service calls resulting in significant added charges.) " In my original review, I said I was very happy with the Loewen windows and other items we'd purchased to install in a new house. The WDM sales people were helpful at that time and everything went smoothly. But 8 years later, one of the casement windows no longer opened due to a broken internal gear mechanism. The Loewen warranty was still good for parts but not labor. I called WDM and explained the situation. They were very nice on the phone and took all the relevant info, promising a service person would contact me within 48 hours. Nick eventually contacted me (by email) but it was well beyond 48 hours -- more like a week later. He explained that since the house was located outside their normal service area, I would either have to wait until they had another job nearby or pay an extra travel fee. He also quoted $150 for a "service visit". All of that seemed reasonable and I could understand the delay, but I was worried about the possibility of extra charges, as noted above. When Nick failed to respond to multiple emails regarding that issue (and he had contacted me that way so it wasn't as if there was a problem with the connection), I contacted Loewen. Their in-house rep was great, explained how to open the window (which was tricky), diagnosed the problem once I explained what was happening, and shipped the parts by UPS air. My cost: $0. So was my original 3-star review pointing out this contrast in customer service an "extreme statement"? read more

Killer products. I've purchased three doors and a couple of windows from them now. The best is the glass slider with a retractable screen and a floor bolt. It's totally secure and looks fantastic because you never see the screen unless you want it attached. Also pops right back in when someone (inevitably) is walking backwards out to the bbq and walks through it. Also, a local Ballard business which is always a plus as far as I'm concerned. I came to Windows, Doors & More today, not to buy a new window, but to gather some info regarding how to fix my window that has water leak problem from rain. I was greeted by Kaelen who was very nice and patient explaining to me what would be the potential cause and fix to this problem (by properly installing flashings) after I showed her pics of my windows. She also gave me info regarding STC Rating (sound transmittance rating) for sound-proof windows that I am considering to purchase. Although my trip was mainly for info-gathering (and not to buy anything), I really appreciate all the help Kaelen has provided. read more

I was looking for a quality, solid core door and got a reference to Windows, Doors, and More from an architect friend. I wanted a wood veneer that required a special order as nobody carried it in stock. I dealt with Rick Locke, who I later found out was the owner. He was able to get it for me faster and at about half the price of the other company I got a quote from. I'm familiar with building materials, and the door I got was first quality. Rick was a pleasure to work with, very responsive, and good at keeping on top of the order. Their showroom is very nice and clearly deals in high quality products. I see that there are several not very good reviews on Yelp for this company from several years ago. I should point out that Rick bought and took over this company relatively recently, so people thinking of doing business with this firm should not be put off by those older reviews. Under Rick, this is a different company, and I have no problem recommending it highly. read more

I took time off to go into their showroom in December looking for Trustile doors for a home project. I was told to talk with Patrick Boyle and I told him what I was looking for for my project. He made a few phone calls while I was in the office but was not able to speak to anyone. He promised me that he would get back to me within a few weeks with an answer to my question and a quote for my job. Four weeks later, I had heard nothing. I contacted the door manufacturer myself, obtained the information Patrick was supposed to get me and the I contacted Patrick again and told him exactly what I wanted. He again promised to get back to me with quotes for my job. He never communicated with me. I was so frustrated I went with a competitor and bought the product I wanted. I don't know if it was because I am female or because my project was too small for them, their lack of responsiveness was appalling. read more

I guess don't bother going there if you aren't planning on spending $20K+. I am planning on replacing half the windows on my house, went there for a quote and they were friendly and said no problem. After at least a week I followed up, and they had "lost" their notebook with the measurements. I sent the measurements again, followed up after another week, and a month later still no quote. Maybe they pay more attention to mansion owners or something, but apparently they don't want my business. read more

My husband and I just completed a lengthy search for windows. The process completely changed our perception of Windows, Doors & More. First, they are one of the only window dealers in the greater Puget Sound area with a show room open on Saturdays. Most window dealers have banker hours and cater to contractors. But when making a significant investment in windows, now and for the future, we thought it was important to see different options. Our experience with W,D&M this time was great. They get extra kudos for having Saturday hours. They do cater to contractors, but our consumer experience was very positive. Both Kevin Couts and David were helpful, patient and responsive. They have a great selection of windows spanning multiple price points and styles. We chose Loewen and both Kevin and David were able to explain the difference between Loewen and products at a lesser price point credibly. We ordered 3 windows for a remodeling project and will be ordering the rest of our windows there when we move into future phases of our project. read more

Customer service is in the sewer. They are more worried about making a sale than getting you a product that actually works well for you. Sales staff is exactly that- they will sell you anything they can and tell you everything will be taken care of, then when it doesn't work, they won't do anything to help you. I agree that their products are great, but dealing with people who don't know how to work with customers is not worth it, and makes it very difficult to get the right product. I bought windows about 8 years ago and the staff did a great job. I was so impressed that when I needed new doors, I hired them as well. The door staff appeared to be doing a good job, but I noticed that there were still small nail holes in the door frames. I asked them to use a filler and they said they did not bring any, that I needed to do it. Not what I would have expected. The window people filled the nail holes and did a professional job. The door people were lacking in professionalism and had a poor attitude. I would not recommend them again! read more

Absolutely horrible! They make you pay in full for your order and then deliver faulty product. I could have been patient with the replacement process however it's been four months and three days of scheduling around work to receive the new windows. The first time an appointment was scheduled but new windows were never ordered. The second time the windows were ordered but in the wrong size. The third time the windows arrived yet once again, faulty. Do not do business with this company. read more
