I had waited 10 yrs to get new, functioning windows, so it was very important for me to get the right choice. I researched different brands of windows available in Hawaii, as well as the reputation of the Window Contractors . I chose Windows Hawaii because they are the main distributers of Anlin Windows,which I found has very good reputation & positive feedbacks.I admit I was a little hesitant in dealing with Windows Hawaii due to a negative Yelp review I found. I did question them about it & the reviewer did add later that the company's Manager Mark took care of the problem. From my long experience with renovating homes, I understand that there are always problems that can come up unexpectedly, but I expect the contractor to be willing & ready to correct any problems that may arise ( there's contractors out there that do not take responsibility for errors and does not care to fix the problem unless you pay more) Some problems did arise later, partly my fault because I made some upgrades to my order. Main problem was that the paperwork revision took some time because the Hawaii office has to communicate with the parent company in CA. I also became a little paranoid due to a later negative review I found while waiting for my windows to arrive. But all in all, Mark and Steve came through for me, they were reassuring and handled my concerns. I found that they are big on customer satisfaction and will do what it takes to make it right for the customer. My installers Larry and JP worked hard & didn't try to cut corners to save themselves time or effort. They were friendly but respectful. They cleaned up and put away everything neatly everyday before they left each day. They went through everything and answered all my questions on the final day. I love my Anlin windows! I will be using their parent company again for my CA home. Do not let a negative review deter you from using them if that is the only reason you hesitate. Just use common sense, ask questions, get everything neatly in writing before having them order the windows for you & make sure you know what you want ( unlike me, who made 2 revisions:) before you have them write it up. read more

We just had our windows installed through windows hawaii and had a very positive experience. We worked with Mario to order the windows (he was able to measure our windows and give us a quote right away) and although we had a slight delay, we are very pleased with the final outcome. The installers jhenrey, Raiden, and Ralph did an excellent job installing the windows. There were a few small scratches on a few windows (probably from transport) but the company is sending out a representative to look at the scratch and replace the windows. read more

Our story continues, I got a request from Mr. Mario Garcia General Manager that I give him sometime to discuss my issues. I texted him with the day and times, 07/02/13 between 10am- 12noon. As promised I did nothing and waited for his call. It never came. He later called when I was not available to say that he was busy doing something else. I later emailed him to tell him that I will not accept calls from him since he's too busy. All correspondence will be by email since it's in a written form and will have less chances of misunderstanding. Haven't heard from Mr. Garcia. I did request an update of the status of the 1 window they forgot to order, and the window they did order but gave the wrong measurements. Again no word of its status. Again I recommend going with anyone but Windows Hawaii. I have never experienced such an amateur group until now. Since nothing has changed and things seem to be worse, they deserve no stars unless I can give them a minus. read more

Great customer service and a quality product! Had eight windows replaced in our house several years ago and they are still holding up much better than the Pella windows we also have. We needed to replace a single window so we went back to WH. Sales rep Steve LoBue came the day after we made our initial call to get the order placed. We met them at the BIA home expo at the blaisdell back in january. Thought they had some good products and was very interested in their windows. Scheduled a time for them to come out to our home to give us an estimate. The guy no shows. The manager calls and said they were double booked so they were not able to come. We would have appreciated a call to say that they couldn't make it, because we were waiting for them. We called the office manager "Shante" the next day and rescheduled another time, and again, no show and no calls. Worst costumer service!!! We decided that there are other window companies in oahu with better service. I would have rated them 0 star if I could for their service. read more

I selected Windows Hawaii on advertisements and reading reviews. Moreover, they were a distributor of Breezeway jalousies which is what I primarily wanted for my window replacements. Once I decided on what I needed, it was surprising that my order was going to take between 25-30 weeks! But then again, it was in the midst of the Corona virus pandemic. The installation was estimated to take between 3-4 days. JP and his crew showed up promptly and finished the job in just 2 days. They were very respectful of my home and cleaned up after they were done. JP explained how everything worked and also provided me with the warranty packet and cleaning instructions. His crew minimized the debris and were careful to not damage anything by laying protective coverings around the work area. I was extremely happy that I did not need to hire a finishing carpenter to complete the job as one of my co-workers stated that her experience with another company required a separate contractor to complete the window installation. Her company simply provided the windows and did a partial install. Thank you Windows Hawaii for a great experience (less the long wait time, but worth it in the end). I am updating my prior post. So the service manager finally showed up showing me the punch list email that he sent to me more than a month ago. May be it went to junk mail because I never received it. However i don't think he had pics attached to the email as promised. He came and changed a small screen due to a hole on the screen. I paid all the rest of the fee except $1000 due to a scratch of a small side window need to be replaced after they have the window. And, son's room needs to be changed to bamboo glass when they come next time. So I am waiting to see how this goes and update this post. Thanks for reading! read more

I wish I had done my homework prior to going to Windows Hawaii. And by the way, I'm not a serial Yelper; I actually just signed up on Yelp today specifically so that I could make this review about them so that others would know and not make the mistakes I made. After reading some of the reviews that I have seen, I will agree that Mario is a pretty nice guy, but his prices are much higher than his competitors and the quote I received doesn't go into detail as to how he arrived at his final price. It just has a flat number, $8000. So buyer beware, do your due diligence prior to going with this company. I blame myself for thinking that Mario was an upfront guy because I was referred to him by a friend who had bought 10 windows from them. I trusted my friend. But Mario is your typical salesman who talks a good game and then you will never hear from him again. I had some quotes done afterwards by Diamond Head Windows and they at least gave me some criteria as to how they arrived at their estimate such as an average price per opening, average price per length, etc.. Wish I had shopped around, but that's water under the bridge now. So yesterday, I had 2 picture windows and a sliding glass door installed. First of all, there had been no communication from the company in the 30-60 days that this appointment has been set. I find that a bit odd that they wouldn't at least confirm the appointment because I would think that they wouldn't want to send a team out with product/material only to find out that a customer thought it was a different day, had an emergency, etc. So I had to call them at 4:45p the day before to confirm everything myself. I waited until the very end of the day just to see if they would call, but they never did. So I ended up calling them to confirm everything and the guy I got passed off to, maybe Kurt (?), seemed a little annoyed that I was questioning why I had never received a call from them to confirm the installation date. He indicated that it wasn't a normal business practice for them or something along those lines. Go figure. Another recent Yelp reviewer mentioned poor communication from them and this is right along those lines. I was also told when setting up this appointment that it would all be done in 1 day, but it ended up taking almost 2 days. I realize "stuff" happens, but the installers made no mention of it. And the other annoying thing that made me write this review is that the installers tracked red dirt onto my light-colored carpet when they were installing. They did have down the large cloth for the work, but for some reason, they were not diligent about walking on it and when they left, they did not seem to care about cleaning it up even though it was pretty obvious as there were about 15 prints. We ended up having to clean that ourselves, I should have taken pictures. That is just simply unprofessional. I can't even tell you who the 2 installers were because they never introduced themselves, just said "we're here to install your windows". They weren't bad guys, just sloppy workmanship. Now, that's not really the mark of a professional company nor is the whole way this project was implemented. Do your homework, there's a lot of information out there online that I learned about windows and installation. But too late to avoid undoing the mistake I made. Just got a cold sales call from someone named Dave. Since our number is on the Do-Not-Call list, we were a bit confused and it took a while to figure out what was up. I thought it might have something to do with a screen we're waiting for from Lowe's. When I mentioned Lowe's, Dave chastised me and said I should have gotten it from them. Just completed installing about 20 windows and a patio sliding door. There were 2 installers, JP and Roel. They were excellent. The job was started on Monday. All but 2 windows were in by Tuesday. By Wednesday, the other 2 windows were installed. The rest of Wednesday and Thursday, these hardworking guys put in all of the window trim and did dry wall repair as needed. They also cut a hole in the wall and installed an air conditioner for us. Every day, they cleaned everything before they left for the day. These guys were very professional. 20 windows with just 2 guys, wow. Beside the windows, they installed a patio door. Great job. While they were installing the windows, we noticed that a couple of the windows were not what we ordered. We called Mario, the manager. He came down and he said he would replace the errant glass at no extra charge to us. That's service. Of course, while he was there, he convinced us to replace our rusting security screen door. We agreed that it needed replacement. The whole company is very customer oriented. We were very much impressed. read more

Worst after-sale service ever. Ordered 35 windows on January 26, 2019 on a 16-18 weeks estimated delivery schedule (mid to late May), which came and went with no communication from contractor. I called on Jun 12 for an update was given ETA of early July. No communication from contractor until my email to them on Jul 8. Was provided install date for week of Sep 9. Week prior, called contractor to confirm and told delayed one week, approximately 32 weeks or 8 months from purchase date. On first day of work, half the crew arrived 30 mins late, then left to purchase food and refreshments. Meanwhile other half of the crew arrived and waited till 11 to start work with the full crew. Only one window installed and crew left at 2:30. Next day arrived at 8:30 and left at 2:00 because they ran out of common building materials. Three windows installed. Next day arrived late at 9:30 because needed to stop at Home Depot for materials. So worked till 6:30 while my family ate dinner. Worked right up to the dinner hour of 5:30 for next two days. Next day after job was completed I discovered and reported discrepancies, which took two weeks to get corrected, again only thru my own follow-up efforts. Paid an average of $1,000 per window and was almost abandoned if it were not for my own persistence. Should have cancelled the order and contract in June. It's yet to be seen how these windows will perform. And since will not use Windows Hawaii again not sure how to match the remaining windows in my house that need replacement. read more

My review got taken down, so I'm reposting! This review is long overdue, but now that the project is finally behind us, I wanted to share our ordeal with Windows Hawaii, and all the hoops we had to jump through to install siding on our house in 2015. I researched a bit and decided to go with Windows Hawaii because of their Yelp reviews, "Best in Hawaii" award, and because there are relatively few companies in Hawaii that install siding (that actually responded back to my inquiries). In July 2014, I met with the salesperson to get an estimate of installing siding on my mom's older house. A few weeks later, we signed the contract and made a 50% down payment. It was agreed in the contract, and that the materials had to be ordered from the mainland, and gave an estimate of completion to be around the November timeframe (this was if the project started in October 2014). Well, October came around, and then someone from Windows Hawaii told us that the color my mom picked out for her house was special (off white color, really?) and it was having a bit of delay to be shipped from the mainland. That was fine, so we continued to wait. In December 2014, I contacted Kurt, who was the project manager, to follow up with the status of the materials. He told me the materials still had not come in and he would contact me when it did. January 1st rolled by, and finally we received news that Windows Hawaii would be able to start the siding project on the week of January 24, 2015. About time! In the initial stages of the project, Kurt told us it would take approximately 3 weeks for the completion, which seemed reasonable to me as this was a one-story approximately 1,500 square foot house (not too big, but I knew of some challenges because it is older and I wanted them to do a nice job). It was also around this time that my mom went on a month long trip to another country, so I was the sole point-of-contact. However, I work during the day so the only other person always being home would be my dad. Once in a while, I asked him if the siding people came by and he said yes they did, but usually only for a short period of time. For the next 3 months or so (what happened to 3 weeks?!) that it took the installation crew to complete the siding, their work hours were very sporadic, which is unacceptable. According to my parents, the installation crew would come by the house and do work for a few hours per day, drawing out the project. This was very evident whenever I came home from work, because only small parts of siding would be finished. At first, there seemed to be progress, and then sometimes days would go by, and it looked like the work was the same where it was left off. At times, the crew would not even come to do the project (confirmed on days my husband was off from work). During the middle of March 2015, a week went by before anyone came, and when they finally did they said one of the workers were sick. I can understand that people get sick, so it's fine to take sick leave, but you would think the project manager would call someone to tell us that or keep us up to date. No one ever had the courtesy to let us know. Windows Hawaii's work ethic was becoming suspicious, so my husband contacted the project manager Kurt to ask questions. Kurt would give excuses for why his workers left, or sometimes he didn't have an explanation at all. In fact, he would tell us that his workers told him they spoke to my mom to give her updates; that's a lie because she was in another country throughout most of the time that they said they were here doing work. Already, I began to suspect that we were getting the short end of the stick. Kurt had already missed two of his deadlines, and every time we asked he would say our house was old and was a very difficult project, among other things. Are you serious? It's not like this was some cheap job for them to do, we were paying over $26,000 to Windows Hawaii to do what was promised and deliver it on time! I would believe what was being said if the workers actually came to work full days, but the fact that they did not just made me even more irate! For being a manager, Kurt did not seem to do a very good job of managing where his workers are, or giving projections of when the completion can be done. There was poor communication with this company, and poor management from the person in charge. Those few months of waiting for the project to complete had us regretting choosing to do business with this company. In the end, Windows Hawaii did complete the project and deliver what was expected, but it took over 3 months! They gave us too much stress and were a waste of time! All we got from the project manager was excuses after excuses. The only fact that changed things around and got things done was when we contacted Mario, the general manager of the company. He even said our project should've been completed in a few weeks (seriously!). We will not go with this company again for any of their services. read more

We had several estimates from different companies and went with Windows Hawaii due to giving several discounts, Military and others, however; due to having to get approval from our Association, lost these. Several people came in to take measurements and had to wait 8 weeks for delivery. The crew came in and had to do a lot of cutting and adding 2x4's to fit the windows. We are happy with the windows, however; the crew said they had to wait two weeks for caulking to dry in order to paint, they took several hours to paint a small section which I could have finished in 10 minutes. I showed them the paint thinking they would purchase, however; they showed up with no paint and used our old paint. According to the contract, they A/C was supposed to be placed on the top, however; ended up on the bottom. read more

I changed all of our windows in December 2013 and experienced great service and workmanship from everyone at Windows Hawaii. I had a great discount too! In comparison to other companies that I contacted, Windows Hawaii personnel were very responsive and professional. They worked with my schedule to install the windows, and when I wanted a change a window to obscure glass, they accommodated my request. Our home is cooler and the windows are "uplifting." I can open and close the windows with ease and they are so easy to clean. This year, before an expected storm, I was checking the windows and noticed a screen was cut. I called for help and the screen was fixed in a day. I have recommended this company to family and friends. read more

I had Anlin front picture window installed several years ago and noticed how much it had cut down on the street noise so when I had the money had a few more installed. Crew that came in did a great job . I was concerned because I had changed the size of the windows but they matched everything up perfectly inside and out. I love the noise reduction and the security the windows provide . I really am a big fan and 41/2 stars is my real rating. half a star off because the estimator was a no show for the first appointment and I had taken a day off just to do that. We are pleased to announce the replacement and installation of our new windows was completed on 4/09/20! Our replacement windows was ordered in August 2019 and we were told that it would not be ready for installation until January 2020 and then again in February 2020. But now due to the Corona Virus Pandemic it was delayed again which we completely understand. We are especially thankful and very happy by the professionalism expressed by your installation crew; Rayden, Johnny and Hoku! They were really respectful, considerate, extremely knowledgeable, neat and really friendly and very talented carpenters and workers. They took the time to explain that the windows that was ordered did not match the measurements of the existing window opening. After making a few phone calls and picking up more materials and equipment they started the installation. In my experience working with other carpenters, this crew took pride in the work that they do and explained what they were doing and the applied reasons behind each window installation from start to finish. It's been over a year since I had Windows Hawaii install new windows in my house. I really owe them a review, especially as I found their service and product to be outstanding. I had long wanted to get rid of the cheap aluminum sliding doors and the old fashioned jalousie windows that were installed back in 1970. So I interviewed three local companies. Of the three Windows Hawaii was clearly the most responsive to my questions and needs. Working with Mario was a delight. After placing my order, which was extensive, he gave me several minor upgrades. Unasked for and really unnecessary as I had already placed my order and he had my business. Just a nice touch. Then Kurt came out and measured the windows. Prompt, professional service. My orders were placed and, after a couple of months, I got word that they were ready to be installed. J.P. showed up to install the windows. I must admit that I admired both his technical skill and how he led the team, all of whom were excellent. Whenever a window or door was opened JP stayed until it was closed. Everyday they cleaned up. The whole process took about a week. Can't complain. Now - the windows and doors. As I mentioned earlier I'm comparing these with aluminum doors and jalousie windows, all of which had single pane glass. I can't compare them to other brands of vinyl windows. Bearing that in mind I have to give them a 5/5. I live on Kaneohe Bay where I'm constantly hearing the Marines fly big transports and screaming fighters over my roof. On occasion they blow stuff up. And then there's the occasional teenager driving by with the base on his stereo turned to max. And lets forget the trade winds which had formally whistled through the jalousies. All of that has virtually disappeared. Not only have the windows deadened the outside noise but they insulate me from the heat. The house has never been so cool. Finally there's the UV blockage. It's hard judge if the wall paint is fading any less, but what is striking is the effects that the windows have had on my little tropical fish tank. Used to be that would have to clean it once a week. Now i go three weeks before I clean it. I can only conclude that the algae must have thrived on light in the UV or near UV portion of the spectrum. Whatever, but the effect is striking. And how are the windows holding up after a year? No problem. Some of the plastic on the screen doors exposed to the ocean are a little bit discolored, but other than that everything is fine. No pitting on the glass or the metal hardware. All in all an excellent company to work with. Good salesman, good crew, good product. read more

Well I'm writing because most people only use yelp for bad reviews. I'm writing about my experience with Windows Hawaii. Mario was our sales associate he answered all of our questions. The only thing was the wait time for the windows it was longer than 10 week but we ordered 32 windows and two doors. But I can say it was worth the wait!!! The installation crew was wonderful, they all did a fantastic job at taking out the old windows, doors and putting in the new. They were customer friendly and professional. They treated it like it was their own home with respect. The crew was of Stanton, Kona, D.J. and Clayton. They did a great job and they worked very well as a team. I would recommend Windows Hawaii to anyone interested in replacing their old jalousie windows. My home looks beautiful and I love the tint to reflect the sun out. It keeps the house cooler. We had several quotes for window replacements and the quote that seemed the very best for us was from Windows Hawaii. They were able to grasp exactly what we needed and tailored the proposal with several options that made sense. All the proposals were within our price range and some of the others did not make sense for us at all. We had them put in Anlin Double hung windows in several rooms with a picture window in the living room area. The Anlin Windows are very easy to operate and are attractive. We had them put in Jalousie windows in our family room to replace the old ones that were in that area. The new dark colored frames are perfect, very secure, and very attractive. The gentlemen on their installation crew were very good, fast and complete. They cleaned up well after the installation which only took a day for the first double hung window portion and also only a day for the jalousie windows. They took all the debris away and showed us completely how to operate the clean the windows. I called to ask if they could install a screen door for my sliding patio door. They said the whole window has to be replaced, which of course is a lie. 3 other companies quoted my about $300 to add a screen door to my existing door. They are sketchy.
