A small plastic piece on one of my windows broke, and I needed to replace it. I didn't even know how to describe the piece, let alone what it was called, and the company that installed the windows in my house is now out of business. I needed to replace a leaking bathroom window. I've contacted few vendors/contractors and friends who had window replacement before. none of them seemed providing me the trustworthy relationship between me and the provider. I did a Google search and found WOW on Yelp, I read almost all the reviews and I was surprised to see all the good reviews on WOW. I decided to give a try and called WOW. The rest was the history. Greg is an excellent expert on window product. he not only showed me the major characteristics of window products, also the key advantages/disadvantages of different window products. unlike most common salesman, Greg cares customer's need and satisfaction. When I told him that I have leaking problem on other window (which I didn't plan to replace), and I've spent thousand dollars but the problem was not fixed. He promised me that the installation team will take a look and fix the problem without charge or minimum charge. That built the trust relationship between WOW and me. And made the big difference. I decided to use WOW to replace five windows for my house on spot. Few days after signing the contract, I received a call from the WOW installation team leader Kim, who came to my house to do the measurement on the windows. I also showed him the leaking area on other windows. Kim told me that he's worked for WOW for more than eight years and installed hundreds of windows. That immediately gave me more trust on WOW. On the installation day ( 10-11 weeks later), Kim and his team did excellent job on window installation. Kim demonstrated tremendous knowledge in windows. The window installation went smoothly, Kim showed me the problem on the old window why/how the leaking would occur. He also showed the problem causing leaking on other window, and fixed the problem. In addition, Kim's team also fixed a leaking problem on one gutter joint. I really appreciated the additional work that Kim and his team did without additional charge ( I don't mind to pay reasonable price to fix the problems, but I might get ripped-off again by other fly-by-night contractors). That is the different what WOW made on me, i.e. they wanted to make sure that customer is totally satisfied. There is no more question, WOW will be the only trusted provider for my future window replacement needs. Just had Windows on Washington install to 2 sliding doors. Excellent job! They were able to finish the works in about six hours which included removing old doors, installing new doors, installing new molding inside and new aluminum flashing outside with all the appropriate caulking and completely clean up and haul away all debris. The new doors look great and work very well. I will use them again to replace the windows in my home soon! read more

Quite simply, Windows on Washington has been one of the top highlights of living in Northern Virginia. When we bought our home over two years ago we knew it was older(1971) and going to need some upgrades and repairs. WoW came highly recommended from our friends so we went with them for a chimney rebuild, windows, basement door repair, gutters and downspouts, and roofing. I'm not sure you will find a team of professionals who care more about their customers than they do. Eric, owner, personally knew all of our projects down to the minute detail and ensured they were completed to our satisfaction. It was impressive and reassuring. We recently replaced our 30 year old windows and a set of French doors. The old ones were sticking, leaking, and in one case, broken. Our old French doors leaked and were very difficult to lock. The new triple pane windows are fantastic! Our new door opens and closes smoothly and it no longer takes 2 hands to lock. We have already noticed our heat not running as much even though the weather is still chilly out. The contractors did an excellent job at cleaning as they went and worked very quickly. One window arrived broken, but our lead contractor had already notified the company and a replacement was ordered. Our only dislike was the contractor who measured our windows was not the one who lead the replacement job, leading to a few miscommunications. All questions were resolved and the work was completed and looks great. read more

If anyone in the DC area ever needs work done on their house (roof, siding, windows, etc.) I HIGHLY recommend Windows on Washington! They did my roof in 2013 and my second- and third-floor windows last month. Today they came to replace the wood, siding and trim around the first floor living room windows. They were installed so poorly (by Windowmaster when I was renting here), they redid all the trim, added insulation (there was NONE) and changed out all the hardware that holds the windows and trim in the house. He said he couldn't in good conscious leave them they way they were, and he didn't charge me a dime more than the originally quoted price! They also happened to be a Christian-owned company. I'll never bother even getting quotes from anyone else.I'd rather have the quality and honesty than a slightly cheaper price for a crap job. read more

Well, I just signed up on Yelp to give WoW this review today! We moved into this 1973 original house last summer, among the tons of things to do, all windows and doors needed to be replaced. Greg came by to give us a very reasonable estimate ( not the cheapest among the estimates we got, but for quality matters when it comes to windows and doors as we will probably not replace them for many years). Things arrived on time and installation team was polite and professional. Most of all, the quality of the doors we got from WoW is fabulous, they proved themselves during the windy cold days this winter. We had a question afterwards, and they followed up quickly. We recently had 25 windows installed in our town home by Windows on Washington. This was the best experience ever from start to finish. We found them here on Yelp and based on all of their glowing reviews we decided to give them a try. The salesperson (Joe) who came to our house was a really nice, honest person who spent a lot of time with us giving us all kinds of information and listening to what exactly we were looking for. We especially loved how there is absolutely no pressure to make a decision quickly. The pricing was so much lower than everyone else out there. The installation crew was excellent too. They did the job in one day and were very careful about keeping the carpets clean, etc. The windows look great and so far we can tell that they are going to make a BIG difference in how cool and/or warm our house stays. Every single person who works for WoW is outstanding. If you have any problems, they are very quick to respond. Great experience with Windows on Washington. The salesperson was great. He did not try to sell me a more expensive window that I didn't need and he did not try to keep bargaining over the price as some salespeople do. He was very straightforward. Price was reasonable. I had eight double hung windows installed. They did an excellent job. I also had my bay window capped, which also looks great. I didn't even know the wood on the bay windows could be capped to be maintenance free for pretty much forever, until the salesperson suggested it. Definitely worth the extra few hundred dollars. We bought our townhouse in Dec 2011. The windows & sliding glass doors were original & approx. 23 years old. We could not afford to have it all done at once, so we replaced in 2 stages. After purchase, but before we moved in, we had 2 living room & 2 kitchen windows replaced, along with the sliding glass door to the deck. Installation went smoothly, communication was excellent & we are thrilled with the product. We just had the balance of the house done yesterday (06/19/12), with 2 windows in each upstairs bedroom, 1 in the basement & we replaced the basement sliding glass door with french doors, leading to our lower patio. After checking out their website and seeing the Yelp reviews I got on their email list which will send you super useful info for your home and energy. Eric was patient enough to read through the lengthy specs from my condo association for window replacement (owner expense) then came to my home in the evening to give me some ideas. Eric was very honest and easy to deal with. He gave me some great ideas on how to control heat in my window filled sunroom, even ideas on products he doesn't offer. That's honesty! I also had one window that wasn't closing which is a big issue in the winter. I had another company attempt to fix it 3x and then lobby for me to replace it at a very high cost. Eric without any tools was able to get the window shut in about 15 minutes saving me the high cost of replacing said window. What can I say? Kevin Bruzessi is ridiculously awesome! I mean seriously, he's the absolute best, we just love him! He's helped us in our roof replacement, helping us see what we needed to do, as well as in our window & gutter replacements and skylight and sun-tunnel projects. All the time, he explained everything in detail, answering all our (many, many) questions with patience & a huge amount of knowledge and expertise. Emmanuel, the roof technician and head of the roof team, was spectacular! He was professional, extremely knowledgable and what a nice guy! I also liked how there were teams of different specialties ( e.g. A roof team, a gutter team, windows etc.) who constantly talked to and consulted with each other; It made me feel very secure in their cumulative knowledge and expertise. By the just the beginning of our (huge) project, these gentlemen felt like family. We had ended up realizing the full extent of work needed, and how we would have actually been short-changed by all the other estimates we'd gotten, with inferior material, methodology and minimal work for a seemingly lower price ('you get what you pay for' applies in this case). They even matched our price from another estimate, taking into consideration the better material, insulation and more complete scope of work. I worked with Windows in Washington to provide window and door services for a client of mine. We had 10 windows and 3 doors replaced. Zach, our salesman, was very nice and helpful. He had a great attitude and was available any time we had questions. The process took a long time but I think this is normal to expect this. Once our windows and doors finally arrived, everything moved right along! We had an appointment for service within a week. The day the workers came out to the house, they were quick and efficient. There were several guys there to help and they completed everything in 1 day. They did forget to caulk and replace one wood piece above one of the doors but the office is in the process of correcting their mistake now. I had 10 Windows replaced, the lead crew man was Joon, very professional and courteous. The whole crew was very professional. The product was more than I wanted to spend, but I liked the quality of the product and good warranty. They all worked really hard. If we buy another house, I will use them again. If it's all possible, I would ask specifically for Joon, since he is excellent. I really appreciated that he patiently explained everything, and also took time to check each windows operations afterwards. I think it takes like 3-4 weeks to get it(don't quote me on this..) anyway, if you are doing major home renovation, take care of the windows first, since my general contractor had to wait for windows to get done, before the paint job can start.. lessons learned.. read more

I am a very details-oriented person and understand construction--most home projects I do myself since I can't find anyone who will perform to my satisfaction. Consequently, I had a lot of reservations about hiring a company to complete a job too big to take on myself--installing additional windows in my home. I and my wife interviewed many contractors before we found one that we felt was up to the task. It was still a leap of faith. Ultimately Windows on Washington vastly exceeded my expectations. They installed eight new windows in my home. I carefully inspected the work on each completed window. The windows were properly flashed and sealed to prevent water intrusion and air leakage, there was a beautiful, continuous solid bead of caulk at each seam and no damage was done to the surrounding siding. Inside our home, each window was level and square at every plane and dimension. Even the diagonal measurements across the trim were within an eighth of an inch in a span of over 50". Amazing craftsmanship! Mostly importantly, on a project of our scale and we wanted a dynamic company capable of dealing with unforeseeable issues. Eric was unflappable and stood by his work until we were satisfied with every detail. It's great to see a company take pride in their work. We recently had 7 Okna 8000 windows installed. We couldn't be happier with the product, installation, and our salesman, Greg Schwartz. We had been in the process of looking for the right windows for a couple of years, with many hours spent researching and reading reviews. It wasn't until we had Greg provide us with the much needed information and help set our mind at ease. Our first impression of Greg was spot one. He was professional, courteous, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable throughout the window process, but most of all he knew the competition. We had many questions on numerous occasions and Greg was so quick to respond. It was quite unexpected. I wish we would have had WOW out to the house sooner, it would have save us so much time and effort. We actually had a competitor show us a window and provide us with an estimate for another product, which was also pointed out by Greg. Just had our first round of new windows installed by WOW this week and I'm so happy! We'd started with the local company that spends quite a bit on advertising who requested 90 minutes and that both "decision makers" be at home for them to even come and give us a quote. This always irritates me as I know I'm in for a long sales pitch and I also find it an offensive implication that "the little woman" can't make the decision on her own. Not only were they really expensive compared to WOW with the same materials and the same warranties, but they would only quote us the higher priced item, even though we requested a quote for the more mid-range window. They literally said to just take X% off the the quote for the high-end windows! That showed me how much interest they had in catering to what we wanted. Then, after the salesperson came out, we received several follow up calls from someone who couldn't remember that he'd already called to follow up and both times sounded like he was completely distracted and couldn't keep up with the conversation. WOW was different. Zach Wince was our sales person - very knowledgeable, very personable, and we felt very comfortable with his assessment of what we needed done and, of course, the pricing saved us thousands over the other company. Once the windows were in, the office called to schedule the installation. Jose led a team to do the install and they were done very quickly, cleaned up amazingly after themselves, and the windows look great. I was very pleased with the original contact and the estimate provided. I felt NO pressure at any time, and I really appreciated that. This company doesn't need to pressure customers for sales. They stand on their reputation. And their 5-star reputation is well deserved. They delivered exactly as promised. The price was fair. The crew was efficient and very pleasant. I can't imagine better delivery. Naturally at this point I can't speak to the long-term benefits (energy efficiency, for instance). But one thing I can attest to on this day after the installation - all the windows are closed right now and I can't hear a SOUND from outside. I tried getting help with my damaged roof and was put through the ringer for two months. It first took a month to get the inspector out, which was fine I guess, it was after a storm... But then I was told I'd get the estimate that same night and I did not. I called back the next week and was told they'd follow up. I called back the following week and received the same response. I called back the subsequent two weeks and got the same response. It's now been two months since I first contacted them and I need to just move on to a different contractor. read more

Replaced 14 double hung windows. Interviewed 6 different companies. My HOA is very picky and does not allow vinyl windows, so I went with wood composite. They also have very strict guidelines for color, grids, grid size, etc. Windows on Washington proved to have an excellent product at a very fair price. Best combination of price and quality I could find. It couldn't have gone better. Working with David was awesome. He is knowledgeable, personable, an excellent communicator, and an all around valuable asset. Joon and the installation crew did a fantastic job. They were clean, fast, and paid attention to detail. I was in the market for new replacement windows for my house and happened to be visiting with friends who were also in the process of researching vendors and options. My friends told me about Windows on Washington. I am so glad they did! I had previously had 6 replacement windows installed about 7 years ago by a different provider, and the windows have been great. However, given 7 years had elapsed I wanted to research current options. Windows on Washington has been excellent from start to finish. Their pricing is fair and the quality of the windows and the installation are top-notch! It took 6 weeks from the day I received my estimate and made my decision to the installation. I actually found WOW from checking out the website of another company. After reading WOW's reviews, I immediately set up an appointment. As a woman, I liked that, when I called, I wasn't told to have my husband there (I don't have one) or someone else to help me with my decision. On March 20, 2018, Greg Schwartz came out to talk to me. I originally wanted to replace 4 slider windows and my storm door. Greg was very personable and, unlike other companies, didn't do the hard sell. I had already talked to a couple of others but Greg was so much better than them. He didn't do a hard sell and try to talk me into buying that minute. He did ask if I wanted a different style of window, but when I said no, he was okay with it and didn't try to change my mind. He gave me a price on the windows that I was happy with (and so were my friends). I was disappointed that I couldn't also get a new storm door at the time. He said in order to get a new storm door, I would have to also get a new front door. I was not interested in getting a new front door, so I just went with the 4 windows. I was told it could be 6-8 weeks to get the windows and I would be kept informed. On March 23, a man came out to do the final measurements. I think it was April 19 when WOW called to say my windows were ready and had been checked out. So, we set the installation for 4/23/18. So, Jose and another man came out and took care of the installation. You can look at side of my house and see the difference in my old slider windows that I still have and the new ones. The style of the new ones is much better, as the older ones are plain. Jose was very patient with me asking him numerous questions. While he was putting the caps on the outside of the windows, he asked me to go inside and check the caulking on the windows and see if there were any problems. Everything looked good and so did the outside of the windows. They also did a great clean up job, much better than some other contractors in the past. So, for now, my review is simply on my interactions with WOW - which were great - and the installation - which also was great. read more

We have 4 leaky windows in our townhouse and I have called numerous window companies trying to find someone who will look at them and tell me where the leak is. One person quoted us over $3k to replace the windows, another person told me he had no clue. Frustrated, I literally went through the phone book and started calling window companies. I happened upon WoW. I first talked to Kevin who spent no less than 30min on the phone with me, trying to get a better idea of the problem. He assured me they could either fix it, or at least diagnose it, and said he would send the owner out within a few days. Eric arrived promptly and spent over an hour with my husband, trying to understand where the leak was. He could have said we'd have to replace the windows. He could have charged us for a huge job. But instead, he gave my husband step by step instructions on how to fix the windows, cheaply, and effectively. They were honest about price and stood firm by their product and prices. Had WoW come out to fix a leaky roof that was supposedly brand new. Original roofing company installed a new roof but apparently didn't bother to seal it up anywhere. WoW came out after multiple failed attempts to fix the roof by the original roofer and immediately found the source of our trouble. They were able to completely seal up the roof with a special treatment that prevented us from needing to have the roof replaced AGAIN. To be safe, I had multiple estimates and they came in well under the others. It's now been over a month and we've had multiple heavy rainfalls since they completed their work - not a drop of water anywhere! Couldn't be happier with the results. There were some minor communication delays that had me a bit concerned for a while, but they seemed to work it out mid-way and everything turned out great. I would definitely use them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. read more

This is my first Yelp review, but I feel it is more than well deserved. Typically when purchases are made, after the product has be installed and paid for, that is where the service ends. I bought 18 windows from WoW last year, and in cleaning one of the windows recently it wouldn't go back in the way it should, it was obviously user error. I called the company and Eric called me back immediately...well it took me some time to call him back, but when I did... at 7:00 on a Wednesday night...almost a month later... there was Eric more than willing to help. He took the time to diagnose the problem, explained how to fix it, and how going forward I could avoid it happening again. This is the company you are looking for when it comes to quality products, and even better customer service. It is tough to get me to give this great of a rating, there is always something that could be done better...however I could not be happier that I chose WoW for my window installation....yes, they are THAT GOOD! AWESOME WINDOWS AND AWESOME INSTALLATION - Prior to contacting Windows on Washington, we had interviewed several firms representing several different window manufacturers. We wanted the efficiency of vinyl but liked the look of a wood window with simulated divided lites (not in-between the glass). We couldn't find the combination of these features in the quality and price we wanted. I did research on different window manufacturers. Of all the manufacturers, Okna seemed to have nothing but positive online reviews. We decided to find out who reps Okna in the area. Windows on Washington were the exclusive Okna reps, so we contacted them after reading many stellar reviews on yelp. One initial observation that impressed me about the salesman Greg, was that upon meeting us, he asked us what we already knew. He didn't want to repeat over basic general window information that we may already know. We appreciated that he valued our time enough to ask this. We are very impressed with the Okna product. We purchased 17 Okna Series 800 double hung, double pane windows with energy saving package. We got the simulated divided lites. 14 of the windows have the Melrose Cherry interior wood-look laminate, 3 of the windows (for the kitchen, to match the cabinets) have the Natural interior wood-look laminate. These high efficiency vinyl windows look like wood windows and are absolutely gorgeous. The Melrose Cherry looks fantastic with our Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors. We were kept informed of the entire process, from initial order, through installation. On installation day, the crew swarmed onto the house and each crew member did their job in very efficient fashion. The entire job was done within 8 hours. A couple of minor items to note. We had understood the windows would come with night latches. However, during the window demo after the install, I realized that our windows did not have night latches. The crew leader called back to the office and found out that night latches aren't available with the interior laminate. This was not critical to us, so it was not that big a deal that we didn't get these, but I was a bit disappointed not having known this in advance. Overall, the entire window replacement experience with WoW was a positive experience and I would not hesitate to recommend Okna windows and Windows on Washington as installers. read more
