    Ribeye

In the twilight hours, the warm glow of candle lights contrasts the cool blue light of evening spilling in through the large windows that look out on the lake. We watched a couple of boys fish and motorboats come and go as we waited for our meal and while we ate. The honey butter added quite smooth, sultry touch to the complementary bread. A pool of butter and herbs glazed the top of the ribeye (I ordered), which was hand cut by the chef leaving a perfectly thin sliver of fat. It really isn't a fair comparison, but it is significantly better than the ribeye my wife ordered from Redhead Lakeside Grill. A beautiful bacon was perfectly mixed within the Carbonara pasta my wife ordered. Pat, our waitress, was friendly, helpful and prompt. My drink was never empty and she was always available when needed. The Banana Foster Cheesecake was delectable: smooth like a gentle rolling wave on the lake. We cannot recommend this place enough. The shuttle service driver told us before we arrived that it was the best restaurant on the lake. Make sure to setup a reservation so you don't miss your opportunity to visit this place. Don't trust opentable, give them a call if it says there is no available reservations.

I don't understand the reviews. We had a group of 12 on a Thursday night. My bill was for 8 of the 12. One of the 8 was under the age of one. Just under $700. Maybe 12 adult beverages, nothing special. So here's what happened. I picked the place based on the reviews. We had dinner, no one complained. The lettuce in my Caesar Salad was old and wilted with red edges as you can see by the photo. I ordered the filet mignon. I ordered it medium. It was overcooked, well done. Note, you don't have to butterfly your tiny filet to cook it to medium when it takes over a half hour to deliver. It dries it out. I did not care for the seasoning. When dinner was over and I paid my bill (full tip, wasn't the servers fault) I apologized to everyone who all said, hey it's great to try new places so you know where not to go. Place was busy. If I had to bottom line it, for me, if you love a fresh salad and/or a good steak, this is not the place IMHO. I really wanted to like this place but it didn't work out for us.

This is a gastronomical delight. It has a very good menu. I had duck a l'orange for my entree. Roasted Brussel sprouts with a maple glaze for appetizer. A nice Riesling for my wine selection. My wife got center cut steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. For dessert we both got the bananas Foster cheesecake. I got the Afternoon Delight after dessert liqueur. It was very good. The duck could have been cooked a little more. But everything else was great. My wife received a single rose before we left. Very classy place. It's right on the waterfront so we enjoyed watching the boats go past.

This was our first time back after the switch to Margaritaville taking control. There has been quite a change with the new branding. The dark intimate space has now been transformed into a brighter family atmosphere. Service was very good ( as before) the menu had a nice selection of entrees and the bar service was prompt. It's not fair to compare past experiences to current ones, but if you are charging $38 for the filet mignon, it should be much better that we received. Next time we come back we will try one of the other restaurants on the property as this has lost its intimate/romantic feel that we enjoyed

Food was absolutely amazing! Service was great! We were right on the lake and the view was great.

    Very nice dining area.

Slow service the night we went and the acoustics are very loud. The food is overpriced for the portions.

Experiences have always had up-and-down moments, but this time was disappointing because I really wanted it to be great. It just wasn't. The Good: The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and the waterfront ambiance is spot on. It's clearly the place to be at the lake--so good job on the venue. The Service & Atmosphere: Service was adequate, but far from fine dining. If you're charging premium prices, the service model needs to match. Having random runners drop food at the table without knowing who ordered what is diner or casual Mexican restaurant service, not an elegant dining experience. The new manager stopped by twice--a nice touch, until we actually provided constructive feedback. Instead of offering a remedy, he offered excuses about being new and didn't handle criticism well. The Food: Apps (Deviled Eggs & Tuna): Both looked like they'd been plated earlier in the day--they had an unappetizing "sheen" to them that made them look leftover rather than fresh. The flavor on the eggs was completely muted, and the tuna was equally lusterless. Salads: We split the Caesar, and our friends had the wedge. They were served without any offer of fresh pepper. When we flagged down a staff member, they brought out cheap grocery-store salt and pepper grinders. Later, we were told the new chef prefers not to offer pepper on the table. With all due respect to the chef: that's the guest's choice, not yours. (Side note: the wedge was tasty, but oddly wasn't actually cut into a wedge). Mains: The ladies had the Sea Bass--the dish that originally put this place on the map. It was okay, but not as good as it used to be; the new Asian flair and bowl presentation take away from what used to make it the star of the show. The pork chop was good and thoroughly enjoyed. My lasagna had a great portion size and good base flavor, but it was dry as jerky with practically zero sauce. The Verdict: The restaurant will continue to thrive simply because of its location and the lack of competing fine-dining options on the water. But when you're dropping $500 on dinner, you expect accountability and an outstanding meal. We won't be back anytime soon.

My Jamaican chicken melt was a good portion & came out hot & with gooey cheese. Be fair warned that this does have some spice to it as intended. I opted for the cheesy grits as I wanted to stray away from the typical side. They were so flavorful & cheesy with a little kick, outstanding! The steak my BF and DIL French onion soup were very delicious & flavorful as well. Don't let the outside make you question the great food & service that inside. We followed the recommendations of other reviews and they did not disappoint. The gyro was massive, possibly enough for two people. The strawberry Fields salad was delicious with lots of blueberries, strawberries, goat cheese and candied pecans. The French onion soup gets two thumbs up from my husband. It was quite hearty with a nice ratio of onions, bread, cheese, and broth. It came out with a little pair of scissors so you could cut the cheese into bite-size pieces and not have it all come off in one spoonful. They offer local sodas, Excel brand as well as Boba and wine. The portions of everything we saw were quite large, quick friendly service and the food was delicious. We would definitely come back again.

For our entrées, I ordered the English cut prime rib with a twice-baked potato, and my wife ordered the steak bites. My prime rib was cooked perfectly and the potato was excellent. Overall, the food was very good. My wife felt that the steak bites were overwhelmed by pepper, which took away from her enjoyment of the dish. One thing we found disappointing was the value. The meals only came with one side, and considering the prices, we felt the food was significantly overpriced for what was included. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress did little beyond taking our order and bringing the check. The appetizer was delivered by another employee, the busser brought out our entrées, and he was also the one who refilled our drinks throughout the evening. While everyone was polite, we never felt like our waitress was engaged or attentive to our table. For me, great service can elevate a meal, and poor service can diminish even great food. I would rather have mediocre food with outstanding service than outstanding food with mediocre service. While we enjoyed most of what we ate, the lackluster service and poor value left a lasting impression. Because of that, we will likely not return.
