10/10! We came on a Thursday evening without a reservation and were seated immediately. We had a seat right at the windows and it was gorgeous! First we were served bread with some strawberry butter that was interesting but tasted really good! My husband and I both ordered the filet and it was so tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We loved the glaze that was put on top. We also got the shrimp and really enjoyed them. They were very large! The service was fantastic. Very personable staff! We each ended the dinner with an espresso martini and it was perfect! My husband also had an old fashioned with his meal and he enjoyed it as well! Stayed at Margaritaville for a conference and honestly wasn't expecting much because it was just a restaurant onsite, but between the service and food, everything was great. Debi was the perfect server. She let us have a great happy hour and enjoy our bottle of wine along with the jumbo shrimp and burrata then we all got the filet for dinner, and it was cooked perfectly. In the twilight hours, the warm glow of candle lights contrasts the cool blue light of evening spilling in through the large windows that look out on the lake. We watched a couple of boys fish and motorboats come and go as we waited for our meal and while we ate. The honey butter added quite smooth, sultry touch to the complementary bread. A pool of butter and herbs glazed the top of the ribeye (I ordered), which was hand cut by the chef leaving a perfectly thin sliver of fat. It really isn't a fair comparison, but it is significantly better than the ribeye my wife ordered from Redhead Lakeside Grill. A beautiful bacon was perfectly mixed within the Carbonara pasta my wife ordered. Pat, our waitress, was friendly, helpful and prompt. My drink was never empty and she was always available when needed. The Banana Foster Cheesecake was delectable: smooth like a gentle rolling wave on the lake. We cannot recommend this place enough. The shuttle service driver told us before we arrived that it was the best restaurant on the lake. Make sure to setup a reservation so you don't miss your opportunity to visit this place. I don't understand the reviews. We had a group of 12 on a Thursday night. My bill was for 8 of the 12. One of the 8 was under the age of one. Just under $700. Maybe 12 adult beverages, nothing special. So here's what happened. I picked the place based on the reviews. We had dinner, no one complained. The lettuce in my Caesar Salad was old and wilted with red edges as you can see by the photo. I ordered the filet mignon. I ordered it medium. It was overcooked, well done. Note, you don't have to butterfly your tiny filet to cook it to medium when it takes over a half hour to deliver. It dries it out. I did not care for the seasoning. When dinner was over and I paid my bill (full tip, wasn't the servers fault) I apologized to everyone who all said, hey it's great to try new places so you know where not to go. Place was busy. If I had to bottom line it, for me, if you love a fresh salad and/or a good steak, this is not the place IMHO. I really wanted to like this place but it didn't work out for us. read more

This is a gastronomical delight. It has a very good menu. I had duck a l'orange for my entree. Roasted Brussel sprouts with a maple glaze for appetizer. A nice Riesling for my wine selection. My wife got center cut steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. For dessert we both got the bananas Foster cheesecake. I got the Afternoon Delight after dessert liqueur. It was very good. The duck could have been cooked a little more. But everything else was great. My wife received a single rose before we left. Very classy place. It's right on the waterfront so we enjoyed watching the boats go past. read more

This was our first time back after the switch to Margaritaville taking control. There has been quite a change with the new branding. The dark intimate space has now been transformed into a brighter family atmosphere. Service was very good ( as before) the menu had a nice selection of entrees and the bar service was prompt. It's not fair to compare past experiences to current ones, but if you are charging $38 for the filet mignon, it should be much better that we received. Next time we come back we will try one of the other restaurants on the property as this has lost its intimate/romantic feel that we enjoyed read more

Over the last 5-6 years to the present we've notice a definite decline in quality of food and a very clear lack of professional quality in service. Horrible service. We left hungry after never receiving our food, and later ran into another couple who had done the same thing. We never even got the appetizer. We waited 45 minutes just to get our drinks (that we finally retrieved ourselves). Our server didn't even acknowledge this. We continued waiting and waiting. We were treated as if the expectation was on us to serve her. We were kind and didn't complain even as she made it very clear through a lot of sighs and exasperated gestures that she was put out. By what? The place was empty! We didn't even ask where our drinks were, didn't complain about the missing appetizer, or inquire about our food. We just kept waiting. And waiting. But we finally realized we were about to spend a few hundred dollars and several wasted hours for a cold $52 steak. We decided to just leave. We couldn't even get her attention to close us out for our drinks! More waiting. Finally, we asked for our check and wanted to just get out of there, but suddenly there's a manager at our table and the server going on about how much she'd done for us. It was almost like she'd tattled on those awful people who didn't appreciate all she'd (not) done. It was embarrassing. We didn't ask for a manager, and didn't appreciate being forced to explain why we were leaving, and then hear nothing but excuses. If someone wants to leave, just let them. Especially when we weren't the only people doing so. The other couple told us they were there for an hour and a half waiting for their food before finally giving up and leaving hungry. This is ridiculous in any restaurant. But especially a place touting themselves to be fine dining, with an extremely high priced menu. The manager comped our drinks (we didn't ask for that), but we never even explained that one of them wasn't the way we'd ordered it, and one of them had a huge square ice cube that took up most of the glass. One drink and it was gone. I can't imagine how messed up the food would have been, had we ever gotten it. But service is everything. It's not a big deal to get drinks wrong, we could have overlooked subpar food. But service is everything. This place is an absolute failure. read more

This is fine dining in an informal atmosphere (re: Margaritaville). We have been to the lake for meetings before and attempted dinners at other restaurants boasting "fine dining", always to be disappointed. My husband and I had 3 courses and everything was delicious, the service was great & friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and non-Margaritaville! They even had a kids menu for our 6 & 8 year old, which was appreciated but not required. We will be back! read more

We had dinner there last evening, 11/16/19. The dinner was fabulous and the service great. We had the chicken and my wife and I believe it was probably the best we have ever eaten. Firs of all I'll start out with something positive, They did call me and confirm our reservations for my wifes birthday and our waitress was good. Now to the bad my wife ordered the Portabello ravioli and they had no taste. Most of the rest of our party ordered steak and they were BURNT on the outside the inside was close to what I ordered but after waiting almost 2 hours after ordering our food I was so hungry I was just going to eat it instead of waiting for a new steak because I was starving! I also asked for a table by the window to see the lake which they did say your party is to big to be right by the window but you'll be close. I said cool no problem. But they stuffed us in the corner which was by a window looking at all the drunk idiots walking by from the pool next to the restaurant. WHAT AN AMAZING VIEW WE HAD... I was excited to take my wife here thinking she would enjoy this place because I looked at the reviews online and they were pretty good but I'm guessing most of the people who reviewed them were the older crowd in there. It seemed because our party was the youngest ones in there we got treated poorly. A table of older people sat down after us ordered after us got their food before us and left before we got our food, and they ordered similar food as to what we ordered. I was wondering if maybe my money was not as good as theres but whatever next time I am in town I will take my business elsewhere. I wouldn't suggest my worst enemy to go here. read more

Really average place. The chef must have a sweet tooth because everything was oddly sweet. The french onion soup was a strange combination of flavors. Sweet and a little smoky or meaty and served scaldingly hot. It didn't taste like any french onion I had ever had - and not in a good way. The bread was raisin bread with honey butter. The scallops were in a sugary apple sauce and were served lukewarm. The whole meal felt very rushed as entrees arrived during half-finished appetizers. Nobody else was there. This was a very unexpected experience. We had a group of 8 and wanted to go out to a steak house. We decided just to stay at the resort and go to Windrose. The service was unbelievable Great and the food was very good. Anne did a great job with serving 8 people. Amazing, amazing can't say enough good things. The friendly staff to the big portions of food. We had the ravioli appetizer and the windrose salad with the fresh bread they made with olive oil and a reduction balsamic viniger for dipping. Enough for 2 people. Didn't order a main dish was too full. But everything that went by table looked amazing. Oh and banana foster made at the table. Wish we had discovered this place the first night here. Ate there for the 4th of July fire works show. Service was good but the food was subpar. I had the special which was a 8oz Filet Mignon and 8oz Lobster tail with mashed potatoes and asparagus. This meal totaled $65 with water only. The filet mignon was good and fairly warm. Very Juicy and I would have this again. I was highly disappointed in the lobster as it and the asparagus was served cold, maybe Luke warm at best. My brother in law had the lamb which was really good and cooked warm. The lamb took along time to cook. I am thinking my food was done first and waited on his to finish. For being a fine diner and paying for the most expensive meal on the menu, I expect for all the food to come out perfectly cooked and warm all at the same time. I was very disappointed with my experience here. The lamb never came with the herb salad as advertised as well. We didn't catch this until the end of the meal. We are not the one to complain during our meal so I ate the cold lobster and asparagus. I expect to have our meal warm when served and don't want to make a scene during our fine dining experience. There is a kids meal for kids that our 5 year old loved. The views are great. I hope everyone else has a great experience and this is a situational experience that never got corrected when the waitress asked how everything was at the end during the check. read more

This is a fantastic dining experience. The food and service is wonderful. We loved the tempting amuse. We enjoyed the prawns and cheese fondue as appetizers. The salads were even special. I had the house and my friend has the chilled asparagus. The main course of sea bass melted in our mouths along with the accompanied scallop and shrimp. We had a very tasty lemon tart which was the special, for dessert. I will definitely return. read more

Okay, this was a real treat! First rate food, first rate service, I should stop there. The pre-meal bread was excellent, two kinds, pumpernickel-raisin and sourdough, with olive oil and balsalmic vinegar...outstanding! Then, the chef sent out a lagniappe - an slice of an egg based sushi-type roll with an aioli sauce. My wife and I ordered two appetizers to split, grilled prawns and a crisped brie plate. Prawns were very good but the brie...wow, you have to try this! Wife ordered sea scallops and I ordered the sea bass (which came with shrimp and a seared scallop topper, both on a bed of lemon jasmine rice). Check the menu, these were both fantastic. The bar selection was adequate but not particularly sophisticated; however, this in no way diminished the dining experience. Our server, Sandy, was phenomenal. She was very friendly, attentive throughout the meal, but left us alone to enjoy the experience of celebrating our anniversary. By the way, after Sandy learned it was our anniversary, she brought out an absolutely beautiful long-stemmed rose for my wife, a very nice touch! All in all, one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long while. Five stars well-deserved! read more
