In fact management told a resident to shower beside the laundry because her section was shut off. There is a on site cameras which can be helpful with what exactly? I found this is another way to be watched and harassed. We had cars being broken into and the camera wasn't exactly helpful not even for a detective. So again the camera is just a way to harass and watched. A resident has mentioned getting a notice about picking up dog waste in the common dog area, how would you even know unless you're being watched! It's a little obsessive don't you think? There are messages (text) sent out threatening to charge for picking up dog waste and threats to close the common dog area. When the area is not even a up kept area.

I come from places were management don't care if a tenant has a good nights sleep and I'm glad I don't have that issue here. The apartments are well maintained and very green. Even through the issues with the waste management company a few months back, management kept it well maintained and didn't have trash throughout the complex/parking lot like it was shown on the news at other places. The neighbors are friendly and polite. Im happy to live here. If you come across a for rent sign you won't be disappointed. It's hard to get in because no one leaves that should speak volumes.

It's very modern and roomy. Should anything need immediate maintenance they have onsite maintenance there 24/7. That also means if someone trips an alarm or something by accident you won't hear it for hours. Its a very nice gated community with surveillance cameras everywhere and on site patrol at night. The heating and a/c are top notch as well as all the other appliances. We rarely ran into issues but if we did it was fixed super fast. The staff have special events every so often for children as well as free pizza or raffles to win things like full thanksgiving meals, etc. Parking is great theres plenty for cars needing charging stations or cover. The amazon package hub and mail are very secure, easy to use. We had two dogs and it was easy to get them to the designated dog pen. Its all kept very clean! There are so many amazing places nearby to eat and the bay is just up the street! If you're nervous to apply like we were because we had a lot going on at the time that sounded complicated to explain, just try! The staff are very understanding and will try to help you succeed. We are very thankful for the chance we had. There really isn't anything negative to report, we loved this apartment and they were always fair never asking for large increases in rent renewals. They also give plenty of advance notice for fire alarm testing, main hallway carpet cleaning, elevator maintenance, and any in unit quick inspections for yearly fire sprinkler upkeep that is just fast in and out look. High fine for one day late rent .... No exceptions. Lots of elevator breakdowns, and garage door breakdowns, leasing staff does not stay working here long, so just when u think u have a great relationship/communication w office, it's gone. Most times the office is in chaos and you get wrong information on what you ask about. Very frustrating for the residents Security is not great... years ago was wonderful, The trolley brings problematic people into this vicinity. Not really safe to walk your dog at night. I sure miss our former management company. They were considerate and always fair. This is now called The District and is nothing like the wonderful place it was as Pravada.

Fiberglass Fiasco: Health and Finances Lost (Link to video…read morein my second picture) A few months ago, I was eager to move into Alterra. It's convenient location and modern architecture seemed to outweigh its expenses. When I moved in, the staff was friendly, but I soon became aware of its lack of interpersonal charm. Despite most of the staff providing only a semblance of benevolence, one staff member, Harmony, was kind, helpful, and personable. So I overlooked warning signs, such as continued maintenance problems with my apartment from day one. My major issues began late July when I began to experience skin irritation and formication, to which I naturally assumed to be an insect infestation. I promptly notified staff of the problem and requested an inspection. That's when the struggle began. It took me three weeks of nagging to get an actual inspection. During this time period, I was lied to. I continued to experience health problems in my apartment, which drove me to hotels that I had to pay for myself. No results were found from the inspection, so management acted as if that was the end of it. I continued to experience skin and now respiration problems, which pushed me to medical centers. I had to investigate the problem myself while staying in hotels. That was costly, and by the time I had narrowed down the problem, I was out of money. I now presume the problem to be airborne fiberglass or building material from the renovated unit next door. It was much too late though. I opted out of my lease. I am a veteran, and I have lost all my money trying to fix this problem. The problem is not with maintenance. I understand that things go wrong. The problem is with the dubious, cavalier attitude that I was treated with. I haven't received any reimbursement for my hotels or medical, and I had to pay rent for the two months that this fiasco ensued. I haven't even received an apology for messing up my home and finances. I write this, not to bash anyone, but to make others aware of the problems with communication and customer relations that I faced. For almost two grand a month, I deserve better. You deserve better. Management should have been working with me to investigate what was making me sick, not doubting my every word. Maybe someone from corporate will see this, and I can get some kind of reimbursement, so I can find a place to live. If not, maybe you will read this and avoid moving into my tainted unit. Who knows though? Maybe they will fix it. My recommendation is don't even waste your time if you are looking for a place with people who care past their 9-5. You're only a dollar figure and a paycheck to them. I expect much more than that, and so should you.

When I first moved in, there was no gate, but now there is which can be kind of a good thing but also a pain in the ass if you're trying to order a pizza or have a party because you have to go all the way outside just to let each person in. They tell you that you get a "yard" which is the saddest excuse for a yard I've ever seen. You can't fit anything in it, and the only thing it would be useful for is a dog to go outside and poop in, but sadly they don't allow pets. They also don't allow smoking in the apartments or anywhere on the property. If they catch you doing it, they will threaten to kick you out. That's a downfall too because that's just about the only thing you would want to do outside on your 4x4 foot itty bitty patio where you aren't allowed to have a grill. Yes, the yard and the patio are the two most pointless parts about this complex. The parking is pretty much the worst situation imaginable. Most people don't even park in their garages, they just use it as another living room. The garages are ridiculously small. They claim to be 2-car garages, which is fine if you have two mini coopers. I'm not sure how they did the measurements here, but if you are lucky enough to fit your vehicles in the garage, you have to do an 8-point turn just to get it in there since the buildings are so close together. The saddest thing I've seen though is the people who signed their leases and have trucks and you see that they can't even close the garage at night because the front of the truck is sticking out of the garage. I just feel so sorry for them because they didn't know. They didn't know... The best part is that we scratched both my girl's car and my car trying to maneuver our cars into this ridiculous situation. Thousands of dollars of paint jobs are in our future. The inside isn't so bad. You get three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The kitchen is kinda nice too, but everything else in here is so poorly done. The walls are thin and the paint is so cheap you can just rub something on it and it stains or comes right off. The door stoppers just fall out of the wall... ugh it was a nightmare. For $1400 a month we got what we paid for... The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because of the liquor store that I could walk to across the street. That made it easy to not have to drive anywhere when I ran out of beer. Oh also, there is a washer/dryer and air conditioning. You might not want to use them though because somehow the meters here RIP YOU OFF and we had consecutive $300/month SDG&E bills. No, I am not exaggerating.

Weird people walk around there at night. And unfortunately if you have friends/family come over they have to park on the side of the road which unfortunately again is always full of cars because unfortunately the living rooms and hallways that go up to the living rooms are so narrow that you can't move in average size furniture so unfortunately people use their 2 car garages as the living room which by the way these garages are pretty ridiculously small and the driveway to the garages is so narrow it is even more ridiculous to try to park in there without doing a 10 point turn. Fact: Your 2 car garage just became your living room. Fact: You now park either in 1 of the 3 parking spots in the gated part of the complex (good luck finding one) or park on the street. Fact. Friends/family come over park way the hell down the road and walk in this sketchy part of town to your gate where they wait for you to open because it is locked. And if it is dark they could potentially be in danger and be frightened. Fact: Your friends/family will no longer want to come and visit. Second off.. they remodeled this place with freaking cardboard. The walls are super thin so UNFORTUNATELY I can even hear neighbors alarm clocks and figure out what they are watching on TV. A stalkers dream. The paint ON the walls chips off when the wind blows. It is ridiculous. Anything can mark this paint too. We got a couple black marks from moving our MINI japanese pleather couches up the stairs because that was the only thing that could fit. So I decided to use a rag with water to try to get rid of the damn marks. Well the paint washed right off. Fact: THE WALLS ARE THINNER THAN AN ANOREXIC CHICK! Fact: THE PAINT WASHES OFF WITH WATER! WTF?!? Third off and finally.. THE MANAGEMENT SUCKS MONKEY NUTS! They are rude, annoying, deceiving, conniving and overall screw you over big time assholes. Side note: Things you can not do in your complex: Smoke, not even out in front, not on your patio, not at all. Pets, not a fish, not a snail, nothing, zip, zilch. Wash clothes after 10PM, because the walls are so thin you cannot wash your own goddamn clothes in your own goddamn apartment. Fact: I would never move in here again I would rather be homeless.
