The house at 3401 Lilac in Windsor Resort was perfect for our party of 7. We booked through Blue Sky Villas and they were fantastic to work with. We rented this home for 5 nights with the intention of going to Universal Studios with 3-day park passes. We flew into Tampa because it was more accommodating for timing of flights in and out. It was about an hour and 20 minute drive from the airport. In good traffic times, it was 30 minutes to universal studios. On one bad traffic time it was 52 minutes. We learned traffic is strange in this whole area. The drive was fine for us. Pros: The home is large and exactly as described by Blue Sky Villas in the AirBNB listing. The resort feels safe with security at the gate. Checking in was easy and doke in the car. You just have to wait in line in your car. The home was clean and had everything we needed. The resort is close to Publix and Starbucks (and a lot of other fast food and liquor options). We loved the house pool. We paid for the extra heat/hot tub and so glad we did. Even though it's hot in May in Florida, after a day at the parks our feet and bodies needed it! We had 7 adults (3 couples and a single) and had enough king/queen rooms and bathrooms for all of us. We spent a few hours at the main pool area. The service was fantastic! Javier, our pool server, was prompt and brought us drinks regularly. The activities were fun to watch, the pool was large, the staff was friendly and there was plenty of seating for everyone on a Wednesday. Marcos pizza for delivery if you're tired and the group wants pizza. Blue Sky Villas is top notch service if you book through them. Cons: Love bugs in May. Google it. All over the pool chairs. Harmless and they clear out their mating ritual by 1-2pm. We didn't immediately find any 4+ star original restaurants nearby. Just lots of chains. The beds and pillows were fine, but if you're bougie sleepers like we are, the beds and pillows are something to be desired. We were so tired most days it didn't matter. Rules. Just follow the rules of the HOA. We had no issues but there were a lot of them, understandably. read more

We booked this stay through Airbnb for the holidays . Coming coming to the establishment we were met with Security at the gate where they checked our reservation and verified our ID. This is a packed establishment, and there is a line so be advised once inside the establishment in at our stay, we were pleasantly surprised by the amenities, the spaciousness and the cleanliness of the property. On the outside, it doesn't look like much but once inside, you can see that there's so much more to offer. We stayed in a four bedroom four bath with a pool. The community center has a plethora of things to do. they have a pool sand volleyball playground for kids arcade, massage area, weight room, etc. I really like the layout of the establishment and I would definitely recommend this to anybody who's looking for a place to stay in the Davenport area. read more

We booked through AirBnb, and while the houses were imperfect, I want to focus on the actual resort. It was somewhat nice, but underwhelming. It has a lot of potential, but there are a few things I did not love. First, the security is super tight and annoying at the gate and it is unclear which lane you need to be in for check-in. And for a place that is super strict about EVERYTHING, they don't reflect that quality in their amenities. The water slide didn't open until two hours after the pool, and the workers were just stationed on the bridge to not let people through, which was weird. If you're paying someone to guard the bridge, why not pay them to man the pool so the kids who are up before 11 can enjoy it? Also, if you breathe the wrong way, it felt like the staff would blow the whistle to tell you you're breaking a rule. Which is another weird thing, because the signs posted all around emphasize that there are no lifeguards, so I guess the staff is just rule enforcers? For a place that is supposed to be super kid friendly, the entrance to the pool is SUPER slippery, I witnessed many people just walking completely wipe out. The arcade is cool, but half of the games weren't working so that was a bummer. The gym was decent, small, but decent. The kids enjoyed the rock wall. I was disappointed with the events calendar. It looked like they had plenty of events scheduled that would occupy the kids, but when we went to the location on the calendar at the right time for multiple events, they told us they weren't doing them, so why have them on the calendar? The hair braiding is cute, but man it's expensive. The water slides are fun and the pool is fun. The drink service staff were great, walking around with menus and bringing you your drinks. It wasn't terrible by any means, but it wasn't the resort experience I was hoping for. read more

Checked in first day, 10 mins max - make sure you join the queue on the left hand side first time round. Took our details and issued QR pass which you leave in vehicle overnight. We were told by security that there is another entrance/exit that we can use closer to the villa we were staying in which was great and also manned. Really clear where you can and can't park as painted in blue. No issues as driveway can fit three cars. Clubhouse provided great start to holiday - kids loved the small lazy river and slides before they got into Disney. Had more family arriving a week later and no issues with getting them logged in as well as friends who came to visit. Great place to stay if you are on vacation in this area. The club house has a renowned pool area which includes two water slides, a lazy river, hammocks, basketball, volleyball, a gym, arcade room, a restaurant and a bar. You have to register and check in with the front gate to enter this community which could take a few minutes depending on when you arrive. But once you are checked in, they give you a ticket to place on your dash that has a QR code that allows you to bypass the guards whenever you come back on your future arrivals. Very convenient. They do have parking restrictions but as long as you can read, you won't have any problems. read more

Long Post Alert Please heed the other reviews and avoid this resort at all costs. To begin, just as others have stated, entering this place is like you are trying to enter into Fort Knox, literally! There are security guards everywhere. At check-in, we actually thought something had happened here, because there were so many people at the gate. Anywho, fast forward to the last night and departure morning of our pre-Christmas vacation. We rented a 10 bedroom house and was told by the owner that 2 cars could park in driveway and 3 on the side of the clubhouse. Well Sunday, December 21st when my husband went to retrieve the car from the side of the clubhouse, our car had been towed. He went into the clubhouse to find out what happened and was told the vehicle had been towed due to not having a tag on it. What??? Now this was a rental vehicle we were driving. And a family member rode behind us all day long when we ventured out for our activities. If there truly wasn't a tag on the vehicle, they would have informed us. And when we returned back to the resort that evening, a different family member noticed the car was a rental from looking at the tag and actually made a comment to us about it as they thought we had purchased a new car. Again, if there was not a tag there, they would have informed us as well. Let me also add that at check-in on our first night, a guard shack employee went behind our vehicle and called out our tag number to register it and give us a parking pass. So if the tag was missing, how would she had been able to register our vehicle to give us a pass?? So my husband went to the clubhouse and spoke with Charlotte. He asked Charlotte to pull the video of us coming into the resort the previous night so we could confirm there was a tag on the vehicle. Her first words to him were "Umm I will check but our cameras do glitch a lot" in a very nonchalant way. First red flag! And she also had him wait for 2 1/2 hrs in the lobby for her to try to view the video footage when he advised her the exact time we entered into the resort the previous night. Upon viewing the footage, we could see the tag letters but Charlotte kept reiterating that it was just a shadow in the video. The vehicle had been towed by Tow Solutions, whom advised that we were not allowed to retrieve the vehicle due to it not having a tag. We truly believe our tag had been snatched off purposely by the tow truck driver as we could see remaining pieces of the tag around the screws that were used to keep the tag in place by the rental company. And it was a hard plastic tag, not a paper tag, so if it had truly fallen off, no pieces of the tag would have been remaining like it was. Also because it was a hard plastic tag, it's hard to believe that the tag just flew off. Also we drove 8hrs there and all around Orlando without the tag falling off. We also feel as though the HOA and clubhouse of Windsor Island Resorts are in collaboration with each other as the employees were no help to us at all. They are on the tow truck company's side. We ended up having to retrieve another vehicle to get home. We were supposed to leave at 11am and did not leave Orlando until almost 6pm. Ruined our entire departure day. Where to start. Just to get into the resort took 30 minutes of waiting in my car while the attendants checked in every car. It backed up traffic for an hour on Apple Maps. Once you get into the neighborhood good luck getting to your air bnb. There are so many people running through the streets, weaving in and out while driving golf carts and people parked on the sides of the road. I went during the 4th of July weekend so people were also setting off fireworks all day into the night (there is a burn ban in the country). So buckle up for police and enforcers lighting up the streets as well trying to arrest people. Furthermore, while the houses look nice on pictures, they do a good job hiding the unfinished touches. Most of the dining and utensils seems to be bought from the dollar store. We were charged extra if we used more than 3 garbage bags or the 1 roll of toilet paper. They also only provided 3 single use coffee packets (no cream or sugar). In conclusion, this place is so saturated with delinquents, traffic and grime. You will be pissed the moment you arrive here to the moment you pay $20 for burger and fries. read more

You pay a lot to stay at this place, only to be greeted with rudeness from the security parking attendants upon arrival. There is a very strict policy upon entering with a long line of cars. The HOA collaborates with a towing company located 30 minutes away and they let them in in the middle of the night to tow cars parked on the side of the road where they have only 1 sign stating where not to park for the street you are on. read more

stayed at a vrbo and this place is the main clubhouse at the resort check in when you first get to the resort is kinda hectic. no one really knows where to pull in but after that things were smooth the clubhouse area is nice with nice amenities and plenty of things to do for everyone. we rented 2 cabanas by the kids pool for $225 a piece. they did supply some water and snacks which was nice . now the negatives our fridge in one of the cabanas didn't work. they are suppose to come with 2 sitting chairs and when we got there are chairs were gone. we told staff and nothing ever happened so we just made due . but for the money you pay the situation should have been addressed. when we inquired about the cabanas the girl at the desk ( dark hair caucasian girl) was super nice and helpful. when we arrived and when we left we encountered another desk worker(african american lady ) she was super rude , basically just a b-word. not nice at all . even when we were walking up to have our keys she had a ( what the hell are you going to ask me look on her face). just a super rude person. can't believe she is actually customer service for this place. all other staff was nice and helpful. it is very very expensive though and no outside food or drink read more

Very clean house and fun resort. Just wish there wasn't an extra charge to heat the pool and use the gas grill that's already there. I know there were other VRBOs that included these items. It's like telling us not to use the oven or charging additional to heat the shower water. read more

Island Resort and had the most incredible experience! While we staying at an Airbnb here in a resort-managed property, the entire complex made us feel like valued guests. The waterpark was the highlight us and immaculately clean, exciting slides, and plenty of space to relax. It's truly top-notch. What surprised us most was the quality of the food and drinks! We ordered food and drinks at the bar by the pool multiple times, and everything we had was delicious far exceeding typical resort/waterpark fare. The cocktails were great, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in what they serve. A major shout-out has to go to the front gate security. They were truly awesome and super friendly, greeting us warmly every single time we entered. Knowing that the resort is so diligent about who comes in made us feel incredibly safe and secure throughout our entire stay. It was a huge relief knowing just anybody can't get access. Windsor Island Resort offers the perfect blend of luxury, fun amenities, and peace of mind. We highly recommend it and can't wait to come back! read more

The house was great. Amenities, fantastic. Love the big pool. But the ENTRANCE. Getting into the community gate is a nightmare. The line sometimes goes all the way out to the main street route. The line can take up to an hour to get through, even if you use the back entrance. Either a new system needs to be created so that people who already have a gate pass can get through, while first time arrivals go through a separate line. Or something. I'm really surprised the county itself hasn't done something about this. It's a single road (on a hill) and people get irritated with the line and try to go around, which is a collision waiting to happen (single lane passing plus hill, equals poor visibility). Some people who are stuck in line call the police/fire literally EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. So it's lights and sirens up to midnight some nights. Which I imagine is a stress on the 911 system for the county. Families are getting out of their cars and walking their children to the gate in the middle of the night. The resort really is great, but the gate system seriously needs to be handled. The gate is a disaster waiting to happen. Military bases on the holidays with one gate open is easier to get through than this. And guess what, military bases have a visitors center to the side to get passes onto base. Take note. read more

The house and owner are great. The neighborhood system to get in and out are what causes me to rate a 1 star. No matter what time of day or night we left and returned, it was a wait of 20-45 minutes to turn off the road into the gate check. There HAS to be a better system. By day 3, I didn't want to leave the neighborhood to go shop, out to eat or to the parks because of this. I will never stay here again because the wait has been so bad. Even the few times there were security guards and gate workers, it still was backed up and took this long to get in. It was terrible the parking is the worse I have ever experienced. We rented a 10 bedroom home and only 4 cars were allowed and the garage was a game room so we couldn't park in the garage so we were told that we could park on the opposite side of a no parking sign and when we did my nieces car was towed. We were then told the street we were on had no parking at all so we had to park our other cars blocks away and walk back to the house and when the next day came and went to go get our car someone had hit it and of course we didn't know who did it. It seemed like the had tow trucks on the property towing peoples car like they were getting a cut from the tows. My son brand new car was smashed into. This was the worse vacation ever due to the parking at this resort. If you decide to use this resort only travel with one vehicle. read more

Horrible! Stay ANYWHERE else but here! They tow your car in the middle of the night without notice on what happened, why or where is my car. Allegedly had a partial tire on some grass but parked legally. Security, HOA and Management know your license plate, phone number, villa you rented but would rather call their towing buddy than the paying guest to provide an opportunity to informally resolve the situation. Tow your car to a place that is not open or answering the phone. The towing staff do not English and demand cash only and then overcharge you. SHADY!!!! Resort management did not care that your special needs child car seat and mobility device was in the car. Do not leave anything in your car overnight that you need to keep your children and those with medical needs safe. GRASS is TOP PRIORITY not your child safety or your vacation experience at this so called resort. The security and management staff are unprofessional and unresponsive. Management says they only accept emails and do not talk to paying guests on the phone to address complaints and then do not respond to emails. They are probably tired of the constant valid complaints. Security staff need reminded that are NOT in the same class as a trained deputized police officer. You should not be on city streets at night outside your so called resort trying to direct traffic without lights, you should not accelerate out of a parking space like you are initiating a high speed police chase with your yellow security light flashing and almost side swipe us, and you should be helpful and lose your attitude and be respectful to paying guests. Cherry on top- House had a mouse in the patio that lived under the patio couch that terrified the children daily. Pathetic place that lacks respect for others or human decency on how to treat others. My family and I booked two houses for 4 days,a group of 30 people including kids. When we arrived the houses were not cleaned. Several beds (approximately 8) in both houses had dirty sheets, and heavily stained comforters in 3732 Lana ave. The tvs or Wi-Fi didn't work in one house, alongside with certain light fixtures . Also in 3732 Lana ave the house had a sinking are in the floor upstairs that we place a table over. The wall had holes in the wall. Water bug were in several rooms. The bathroom sinks had hair in them. The house look to not had been sanitized throughly and smelled stale. Also, we were told we had to pay an extra $140 to have hot water privileges for the HOT TUB. So we had a cold hot tub all weekend. The maintenance man arrived when we were getting ready to leave. We made the property manager aware of these issues but nothing was addressed. So please be aware when booking and check the house thoroughly when first entering. read more
