We've moved here about half a year ago and everything has been decent except for how Windsor is handling their fire alarms. On top of being overly sensitive and ear piercingly loud, they have been getting constant maintenance for months, which requires them to be set off several times over the course of the day, which is very stressful for my pets. There's been very little transparency about why they've needed to do this so many times, and they always manage to underestimate how long the maintenance will take. Today they told us it'll take 10 minutes, and we've been having to handle fire alarms going off every 3 minutes for the last half hour. read more

Now they added like 8 electric vehicle parking spaces on every floor right in front of the entry ways treating them as if they were handicap parking being reserved for the front instead of building all the charging stations on the top floor for people to use as needed. They basically just made the parking in the front of the floors for electric vehicles. Oh and you get towed if you park there and aren't an electric vehicle but electric vehicles can be parked there without being plugged in to charge and they won't get towed. Lived at Windsor at Mainplace for two years so here's a up to date honest review. Pros: Amazing maintenance team. They are quick to fixing whatever you need. Out of everything they were the ones we truly missed when moving. Great location to freeways and they have two dog parks so if you have dogs it's perfect. Never had issues with noise, as the walls are pretty thick. We did live on the 4th floor so I can't say much about our downstairs neighbors as we did get 2 noise complaints for our dogs running around at night. It is what it is. We had no issues with break ins to our cars. Loved how they had the top level for guest parking. A lot of complexes don't have guest parking. Great gym! Has everything you need. Had no issues with mail or package deliveries. It's pretty easy getting your packages. Great amenities all around. We used the common room for a party and it was perfect. Loved that it was smoke free complex. Moving out was easy and we got a good portion of our deposit back so we are happy. They plan fun events for the residents, so if you like meeting people then this is a great opportunity for you. It is a bit hard to get a hold of the office through phone, so if you like fast responses then you'll need to go into the office. But they are very helpful. Cons: Fire alarm went off so many times during living there. More than I can count. Being pulled during the middle of the night sometimes 3am in the morning. Not sure if residents are pulling it as a joke or what but that's a big issue. The alarm is extremely loud and waking up to that in a panic is annoying. They also have maintenance done on the fire alarms often. So I hope you are okay with loud alarms. People don't pick up after their dogs. In the dog runs they leave poop for the other responsible owners to pick up. Before we moved out we noticed more cockroaches out and about. One night we counted 5 on our way to the dog park. On the first floor there are tons of flies as people let their dogs pee right by the elevator. Not the properties fault but irresponsible pet owners. Ran into a homeless person trying to sleep in the elevator and scared the crap out of us when taking our dogs out late at night. Talked to the office about the incident and they said they aren't responsible for that, that we need to contact the security they have roaming the complex at night. But otherwise that was our only homeless encounter. They are mostly by the freeway on ramps. They did install EV parking spots that took up the front spots by the doors on every level. The amount of EV spots they added was unnecessary since there is not that many Electric cars. Since those are reserved parking spots you cannot park in them, leaving residents less spots to find. If you have dogs: We did have an encounter with another resident that harassed us for not allowing his dog to come into the dog park with our dogs, using inappropriate language and threatening. So if your dog is not friendly with other dogs you might come across this resident. He will record you and cuss at you. I did go to the office to let the manager know of the situation but did not hear back on the issue. Hopefully that behavior gets resolved because that was not okay. Your dogs don't need to play with other dogs in the dog run there are no rules on the gate stating that. But just know other dog owners will stand by the gate waiting for you to get out. My husband just showed me a recent review on Windsors account. We currently live at Windsor at Mainplace and would like to also share that we had an altercation with who we believe to be the same resident. He was rushing me to get out of the dog run while being extremely rude and disrespectful. I then decided to leave and both my husband and I now take our pup out on different paths. He did have a black dog and eventually a lady showed up with a baby in a stroller who I believe to be either his girlfriend or wife. Both were rude. I was not going to post this but seeing someone else who has experienced similar altercations I thought it would be important. read more

If you love the smell of garbage and maintenance always doing mediocre work. This is the place for you. The maintenance crew always finds ways to avoid dealing with the actual problem. They halfway solve the issue and expect praise. I lived here for three years. Was fun and made great friends but Windsor doesn't care for its residents. They always do the max increases on rent and never offer anything in return for your loyalty. Go to the properties in the surrounding areas. This review is for the maintenance team here at the Windsor Main Place. We moved in just 2 months ago and maintenance was quick to respond to a minor issue with the blinds, within a couple of hours. Today, during a heatwave, our AC unit went out. I put in a regular request and received a response very quickly. They asked a couple of questions and then recommended I call the emergency line to get immediate attention. I did so and within an hour, Arlene was here changing out the capacitor and recharging with freon. Our AC is back on and us and our cat are happy campers. read more

We were so excited to expand our home into a 2 bd / 2 bath apartment with our newborn turned into the worst decision we could have made. For a place to be called "luxury'" apartments I expected the air to not leak into a puddle when it was on, the appliances to work normally ( fridge was replaced within our first 2 weeks, dryer shrunk a lot of clothes and would turn off half way into drying clothes), water heater going out 3 times, FIRE ALARMS going off in the middle of the night (even after they did maintenance), not to hear my neighbors pacing back and forth all day upstairs. Even after getting a noise violation nothing was done. The end result terminating our lease after 5 months of living there. It cost us more to move out than it did to move in. And the fact we moved out 10/31/24 and still haven't received our deposit back, is a joke, even more that management didn't try to fix the issues! read more

We have lived here over 5 years, and have seen cockroaches outside, as can be expected from apartments, however with being here this long, we've noticed how over time, the quality in the tenants, leasing office team, and overall living experience has all unfortunately gone downhill, and along with that, we are now experiencing cockroaches IN our unit. The pest control has confirmed our unit isn't infested and they're coming from a neighboring unit, however Windsor refuses to do inspections despite have 2+ weeks notice of this information. It has been the most life alternating and terrible experience, and I post this only so others can save themselves the headache and the complete upheaval of their day to day lives. Mold also forms in the bathrooms, there are constant vehicle break ins, our own vehicle was vandalized, they lack security cameras in vital spots, the building alarms constantly go off in the middle of the night, there are frequent building wide water shut offs, there are constantly a ton of people using the amenities that don't live here, and the price for a unit keeps going up yearly despite the quality going down. We've are trying to work with the team, but all we get is "corporate speak" back to us. If they're so unwilling to help out my family, who are more senior tenants, then good luck if you decide to move here. Hope this helps. read more

Unfortunately, this place proves continually to not be a safe place to live. More incidents that have happened include: - Package thieves. We believe they may live in this building due to some patterns. - Our bedroom wall suddenly breaking open with a bit of pressure due to water damage from rain. - Continuous lack of security. The mailboxes were smashed open and broken. - Management continually ignoring that there is clearly a serious problem going on here. Who knows... Lisandro and Cindy are great though. 3.5-4 stars I lived at Windsor from 2019-2023 with roommates and had an overall good experience. The amenities are beautiful with a gorgeous gym, two pools, and two hot tubs. Maintenance typically responded within a day or two to fix our minor issues so no complaints there. The location was great, since it's located between the 5, 22, and 55 freeways you could get to anywhere in orange county within about 15 minutes. My biggest issues with the complex were the thin walls and loud neighbors. I know this is not the property managements fault, but I probably complained about our downstairs neighbors 5 times due to their super loud bass music blasting through our apartment until about 3am. My roommate and I even went downstairs at midnight one night to ask the neighbors to turn down their music, and after knocking for a few minutes no one came to the door. Our upstairs neighbors were also extremely loud, running in their apartment and constantly moving furniture. I think a lot of the issue had to do with the fact that they put in wood flooring so there was no carpet to hide the sound. Overall, I had a good experience living at Windsor and would recommend it to anyone thinking about living here! read more

me and my girlfriend moved into this complex 2 months ago and it has been the worst experience ever. i wish we never moved here. we honestly feel like we are being targeted by the complex because we are an interracial couple. this complex has towed our car twice since moving here and its only been one month. the complex lied about assigned parking. no matter if you pay for a parking permit or not they will tow you. within 2 months we have been towed twice totaling up to over $1000 that the complex will not take responsibility for. my girlfriend had been promised our car would not be towed and yet on a saturday night right before we leave for work our car is missing. if you are looking for somewhere to live i would not recommend the windsor at main place. they are unprofessional. racist and thieves. do yourself a favor and check out the poloma across the street. the windsor at main place is a no go. living here has been a terrible/horrible experience read more

For how expensive this apartment complex is, it's insane how they literally torture you with the fire alarms. There have been several times where they have fire alarms go off In the middle of the night I'm talking 1:30 in the morning! Multiple times that's unacceptable. They will also have them go off a bunch a times for several days and if you work from home it is unbearable. We checked it out Wednesday and when we walked in, it was extremely unwelcoming Ara was stoned as can be and my boyfriend and I immediately noticed. So we self tour and it was beautiful But when we got the info to apply, we met the requirements as a couple but My boyfriend tried to apply and it only submitted mine and I was immediately denied for a few late payments and later rental history that couldn't have impacted my approval. Usually they make a bigger deposit for OK credit but these people don't care. They don't to move you in from my perspective I called the next day after submitting and paying $60 !! Just to be told I cannot reapply with my boyfriend on the application and now ignoring our calls. The application is locked so now my bf can't apply himself and no one is answering the front office Do not move here! Red flag when the whole front office is extremely rude and doesn't want to help make your moving experience nice. Geeez where do I start. The mailboxes have been broken and vandalized for over 4 months now and the leasing office has done NOTHING TO REPAIR THIS! They say it hasn't been 4 months, but I can get a verification from the post office, even the teller at the post office knew what apartment community we were from! We brought it to the leasing office multiple times, recently emailed the corporate office(due to no action from the leasing office). My car has also been broken into, and with all the transients that get access to this building, leasing office I'm sure being aware of it, it is worrisome especially because some mail may contain confidential information. They raised our rent a significant amount and the reason being was to maintain our amenities! This is a basic "amenity" that's ALL apartments offer. We have to drive out to the post office to get our mail picked up. We are on our third lease and the experience has dramatically decreased since our first year here. What to expect when you live here: -vandalism (eggs, oil, grease) -property theft -harassment -management that doesn't care at all about you, the property, or anyone's safety -obnoxiously loud neighbors that bang and throw things on the floor above you at all hours of the day and night -stolen and broken into cars -trash overflowing the dumpsters and all over the floor inside and outside of the trash chute rooms -5th floor parking if you get home anytime after 8pm -dog poop and pee everywhere. On the walkways, corners, dog areas.... NO ONE cleans anything up -homeless people at every corner surrounding the property and inside the property digging through things With the amount of money they charge you there should be cameras and security all over this "luxury" "gated" community. Yet when you come to them with a concern all they say is "we cannot guarantee residents' safety". There's nothing luxury about this place. And don't plan to ever get back your security deposit. Even when you spend a full day deep cleaning and fixing any paint touch ups they'll still charge you the full deposit. $500 deposit here's what they took: $53.13 for water when every previous charge for water had been $12-$13. $53.17 for trash and sewer $160 to clean the apartment that is all wood floor and had already been deep cleaned and scrubbed $153.33 for paint when there were about 6 holes in the walls I already covered and repainted with the exact paint they use. Gee, I wish I was the person collecting the paycheck for these damages because it would've only taken 15 minutes to clean up and be ready to steal the next persons money. I have been living here for almost 3 years, as every other place it has its ups and down, my major problem is with parking as its first come first serve for the resident but unfortunately many residents and there guests they dont comply with the rules spcieally at night, which some times you cant even find parking on the 5th floor which supposed to be for the vistor, but when it comes to maintinance I would say they are very responsive and good at it, the maintenance crew and the leasing office are very helpful, specially Lisandro, who helped me with the dryer issue he was very professional and knowledgeable. read more

I see a lot of mixed reviews here, but overall, I had a great experience at Windsor. I lived here during my senior year of college and shared a 2x2 with a roommate. It was great space for a reasonable price. PROS The location was great! Not too far from school (Chapman University), easy to drive or walk over to Mainplace Mall, and right next door to Starbucks. The amenities were also wonderful. Parking was never an issue and visitor parking rocked! The fitness room was usually pretty quiet and always well-maintained, and there were 2 pools and 2 hot tubs. I also enjoyed Food Truck Thursdays and the occasional event by the pool - free food and drinks! CONS The hallways smelled like weed most weekends, and occasionally would come through the air vents in my bedroom. Additionally, I lived above and next to people who blasted music every weekend (high bass) and even some week nights until 2:00 - 3:00 AM (well past the noise curfew). It was unfortunate that nothing was done about disrespectful residents, but rude people are to be expected anywhere you live. Lived here for 2 years after renewing my lease once. I have a few similar feedbacks as other reviews but often see bad feedback from complainers that expect too much. Would give better rating but there's still lots of improvements to be made. PROS: Great location, friendly/accommodating staff, parking conveniently in a structure so you get covered parking unless top floor, lots of guest parking top floor (finally someone designed the parking right ), dog friendly, two dog parks located in complex (huge plus so if you don't like dogs, understand that this place seems to be built for dog owners), nice gym, laundry room, before COVID they did community involvement like Christmas parties with open bar and food nights, close to freeway entrance, great restaurant options nearby, close to mall and next to Starbucks! CONS: Complex doesn't seem that dated but the insulation does suck! You can hear people talking and walking down the hallways. Walls between neighbors are great! I get that with apartment living, you can't expect it to be like a home but with the thin floors you can hear movement of people that live above you (which never really bothered me since you get used to it) but my neighbors sure complain a lot about my walking which can be annoying. If you can't stand movement or sensitive to noise, probably should get a top floor apartment. The complex seems nice but it's a shame they didn't built with better insulation since I've never lived in any luxury apartment that has floors this thin. Structure has no parking cameras so you already know what to expect. Had water shutdowns for a whole day (9-5) at least once a week; staff told me that they are updating old water heaters. Other than that, the complex itself can't be changed that much but the staff sure make it great. I know it's hard to be a mediator between neighbors that live to close and on top of each other but they really try to be as fair and reasonable with everyone. They really do try and care about their tenants and unless they figure out the insulation problem, maybe everyone will be happy. read more

Don't do it. If luxury living is what your looking for this isn't it. The rent is comparable to the surrounding buildings but the surrounding buildings are not 10 years old like this one. With old buildings come Lots of maintenance issues. I've dealt with leaks, mold, and mildew the last year I've been here. With other residents sharing the same issues. The walls are cheap and you can hear everything your upstairs neighbor is doing. If you're quiet enough you can hear all their conversations. Im ashamed to say I know my upstairs neighbor whole schedule. One of the things we loved about this place was the parking situation. Guest can park on the 5th floor. Or if you work late like I do you can park on the 5 th floor every night because by 10pm all the parking is taken with people who don't have permits because they don't check and don't tow. Cars have been in the same space for month on end without moving. Transients are a big issue. They even bath in the jacuzzi, pool, and surrounding areas. Posted a picture for context. We have lived here for all most two years and we we absolutely love it. We adore the staff and they are friendly and professional. Whenever something needed to be addressed they performed it in a timely manner and always did it with a smile! The location was perfect and met our needs. In over 5 years of living here, I've had my car broken into 3 times, windows broken twice and last week had parts stolen from my car and had to buy a new car. Don't be fooled by the gates. Security is at its minimal. Doesn't include security cameras. So be sure your insurance covers theft because otherwise, like me, it's "file a police report, thoughts and prayers". I lived here for two years. I recently moved out 3 weeks ago and then they sent me a move-out bill statement asking me to pay for the reglaze of the bathtub (see attached picture). I was surprised because I reported the stains when we first moved in (I forgot to write it in the inspection list so the leasing guy promised me that he will include it in the list). In case he did not do it, it is almost logical to think that that kind of heavy soil is a result of years and years of wear and tear, 2 years is a short time. I am very disappointed, I felt like it is daylight robbery. I am also disappointed that they don't have a freight elevator. I lived on the 4th floor so I used the elevator to move out my stuff. We struggled to fit a 3-seater sofa and the bed. Inspect the elevator if you're considering living on the upper floors. read more

I am really shocked this place has such great reviews! We lived here for two years. The first year was fine! The second year was a disaster for many reasons. 1. The water to our building was shut off once a month sometimes with no warning or a warning minutes before or after. They are required by law to warn you. They claim they were all emergency water shut offs but that is not the case. As they would do it to fix water heaters they had planned. 2. A pipe bursted In our apartment and flooded the whole carpet. It took them 3 days to fix the leak and weeks to close the whole in the wall! Which was dangerous as i had a young child. They did not care.We asked for the carpet to be replaced i. The area it flooded as it smelled bad and could cause mold. Instead they had it it cleaned but it still smelled and never laid correctly again. Then when we moved put they charged us for the carpet because of the leak. So ridiculous. 3. They do not care who they let live here. People smoke weed all the time. People smoke cigarettes and in fact on one occasion they did it right in front of the security guard and he did nothing. The fire alarms in the building would go off in the middle if the night from smokers. 4. We had a homeless person sleeping on our porch because the complex is not secure. For the price we paid to live here. I would expect much better. read more

The staff is the best, very friendly and helpful in person and quick to reply over email. Always willing to listen. Lucas helped us when we first arrived here And made the leasing process SO simple. He's professional yet so friendly. Elizabeth is great! She's very on top of things and professional! Thanks guys. We love the gym since it's open 24 hours a day and the mail lockers for packages is uber convenient. If you'd like to pay $2,000-3,000 for a personal torture chamber then this is for you! Let's be clear, this isn't an apartment - it's a dog hotel with extra inconveniences. You're guaranteed to be surrounded by howling, yapping, screaming dogs that are left alone all day. There is a main fire alarm in the buildings (not a small kitchen fire alarm) but a LOUD, eardrum-shattering alarm that goes off unexpectedly even if there's no fire present. You'll never be able to relax in your own home from the sheer possibility of it going off. Grey water bubbles up out of the garbage disposal it smells like rotten dishwater. Filthy orange water drips out of a hole above the shower - who knows what's in it. Metal? Toxins? Whatever, Windsor doesn't give a fuck. They'll shut your water off whenever they feel like it and it won't fix a thing. Your right to a secure mailbox? Nope, you won't find it here. The mailboxes have been left unlocked and completely open multiple times now and I've had mail stolen that has costed me hundreds. Insulation? Windsor has no clue what that is! The front door lets in light, sound and smell. Thanks to the concrete hallways, you'll hear everything that happens outside of your unit. Let's not forget the walls here are made of tissue paper. You'll hear every breath your upstairs neighbor takes (mine snores, so that's my evening soundtrack). The bottom line: this place should be demolished and rebuilt. Nobody should live here - it's absolute robbery what they're offering. I don't know how they're in business since they're obviously violating renters rights. The staff is polite but useless. Remember, they're just there for the paycheck, not to actually make your experience a better one. So reaching out to them is essentially worthless. read more

Where to begin?! Ugh! Pros: - Pretty good location. Starbucks is literally right there and a good sushi place. Baja Fish tacos was across the street. Next to a bunch of freeways with the mall right across. You can walk yourself to the hospital if something happens to you. - Hayley was the only good employee we have encountered at the leasing office. - Maintenance request took forever BUT they are very good hard workers who are very cool. -First come, first serve parking which I personally liked. CONS: -Buildings are outdated. The water had a hard water smell to it. There's ALWAYS WATER MAINTENANCE! Almost biweekly! Not kidding! Instead they want to paint all the buildings a new color and changing the number plates instead of fixing the real problems. - My car (THREE TIMES) and a bunch of other peoples' car got broken into. I've only seen the security guard 3 times the whole year we were there. Leasing office brushed it off telling me to make sure to lock my doors and don't leave anything valuable there. NOT THE POINT! You claim there's security but I see bums coming in all the time and rushing through the gates. Security cameras to catch the culprits? No cameras in the parking structures, just upfront at the gate. What's the point of that? - Tight turns in the parking structure. Crazy people drag racing in there. - Thin walls and thin floors. We can hear everything from our upstairs neighbors especially when they scream at each other and threaten to kill each other at 2am. That's not scary at all! On top of our overtly noise sensitive downstairs neighbor would wouldn't shut up. -Just mostly the ghetto neighbors. Not really sure what you can do about that but it needs to be stated. First week we lived there, we found a car on the top floor with their windows smashed and wheels sliced. Cops and swat team coming in telling us to leave our building because someone brought a gun to a party (March 2020 btw) and the office didn't follow up or anything. Just brushed everything under the carpet. Garbage shoots are always blocked therefore everyone just throws it on the floor. Classy. There are some nice people who do live here though but the ghetto people definitely outshines them. "LUXURY APARTMENTS" my ass! Don't be fooled by the glitz and glamour. Zillow listed 2 apts for them. I'm looking for 1/1. They all have same square foot but one prices $1,720 & one $1,760. It's a 3 hour drive for me to get down there on Uber as I'm in process of getting car. I told her in chat I only wanted to see the $1,720 apt as I'm on strict budget after jacking me around found out their apts start at ONLY $1,875. I'm old & we call that switch & bait. Get you in by false advertising which she blamed on Zillow but Zillow said it was only 20 hours old. Bottom line- if they lie to get you in the door- would you really trust them another 364 days with your personal life? I've lived in the complex for almost a year and recently there has been a rash of car break-ins and vandalism. My truck was broken into twice and a hole drilled into my gas tank twice. A police report was filed and after the first time it happened I told management and they said they were aware of the issues and they were considering installing CCTVs and beef up the security patrol. No less than 2 months later it happened again. I told them I wanted out of my lease as they did not appear to be taking any real security measures. Fine they said but you need 60 days notice and 1 month rent rent to break the lease. In the meantime, I guess I have to patrol the parking structure myself until I can move. As of today, there are no added security measures that I can tell. There are also constant homeless sleeping right outside of the complex even as close as the steps to the entryways. Nice complex but if you care about security, I would look elsewhere. read more

I've lived here for a little under two years and have loved every second of it. The leasing office is extremely helpful and quick to respond, whether it's maintenance requests or information requests. Each week, they have a different food truck come down to the complex, which is a fun and different experience from other places I've lived. One thing that should be noted is that the complex is next to a freeway, so this may not be the place for those sensitive to sound. I am not, so it never bothered me. Each apartment comes with a balcony which is great, and the appliances are nice and relatively new. All in all, I'm bummed to be moving for a job. Windsor at Main Place has been a joy to live at. read more
