This location's male locker room should be condemned. The shower heads don't usually work well (at least two of them, the last two on the right, shoot water in sharp jets that make it painful to use, there is usually towels and paper all over the floor and it's REALLY bad today. Trash is rarely emptied. It's clear it isn't cleaned frequently and the locker room facilities in general need fully renovated. I've called twice to notify the club manager. The first time the front desk took my name and number and advised the manager would call back. They did not. The second time they thanked me for the feedback and apologized. KIDS KLUB LA FITNESS TAKE HEED IF YOU HAVE A CHILD WITH A DISABILITY I've been taking my son (who has high functioning Autism) to the Kids Klub at LA Fitness Terrell Mill for almost a year and never had a single issue until Ms. Vaughn started working there. Suddenly, she began alleging that my son was being "aggressive," which is completely out of character and not supported by his daily ABA therapy reports or the previous Kids Klub caregiver, Ms. Karen, who worked with him regularly without problems. Since Ms. Vaughn, I've noticed inconsistent and unfair treatment -- one day Ms. Vaughn said the maximum number of kids allowed was 15, then the very next visit claimed it was 10 and refused to let my son in. She's also suggested I bring in a device to keep him occupied instead of encouraging him to play, also upon entering the kids klub one session I heard her telling small children to keep the toys off the floor, which is unacceptable in a kids' center. Now my son has even been banned from the Kids Klub without ANY documentation, proof, or communication with me as a parent. If his behavior were truly an issue, I should have been contacted immediately, which NEVER happened. I was completely dumbfounded when I was able to check my son in at the front desk with no issue, just to be told by Ms. Vaughn that my son is banned. As a parent, I feel my son has been discriminated against because of his autism, and I cannot recommend this location to other families until LA Fitness addresses this issue with accountability and fairness. Children with disabilities deserve to be treated equally and with respect -- not singled out. UPDATE 8/19 Called up to the gym & I spoke with Lexi, the manager of the store and she was absolutely no help, she claimed she could not find his parent's information when prior to me leaving yesterday, (8/18) I wrote my name, my sons name and my telephone # for contact, she never intended to reach out to me honestly and that was a very weak excuse to not reach out for such a urgent matter. She also advised me they have no policy whatsoever on the max amount of kids that get to be in the kids klub, the caregiver gets to make that call. I find it very hard to believe that a company as large as LA Fitness has no set guidelines on the absolute maximum amount of kids allotted in the facility at a given time. Further more she explained they don't have any cameras in this kids klub, so we cannot confirm any of these incidents because guess what? THERE WAS NO DOCUMENTATION or INCIDENT REPORTS! So now its all on a he say, she say basis. Lexi also mentioned she walked in and seen my son being physical with another kid, yet she did not reach out to me, AGAIN the incident was NOT documented. Lexi mentioned that the employees in the kids klub are not trained to handle children with disabilities, on my sons 1st day with Ms. Vaughn, i advised her he has autism - THAT WAS HER OPPURTUNITY to be transparent with me, not once did she say anything to me. Prior to Ms.Vaughn, we had MINIMAL issues. These are serious allegations and should be handled as such, why are they not taking this much more seriously with proper documentation and also involving me as the parent more. No one has ever called me or came to get me while in the gym to come get my son for these accusations to be SO severe that he is banned. read more

The instructor was late (very late) and I had to inquire what was going on versus what I would expect, which would be an employee telling me if they have a sub or not. The classes mostly suck. Bad times. Not the best classes. The weights in the classes max out at 10lbs. I need 20 and 25's. Or a bar would be ideal. The locker rooms are pretty bad too. There is one "trainer" in there who thinks he is some badass muay thai fighter. He is a kid and cheesy af. We go and workout here every morning adding 6am and none of the free weights are where they are supposed to be. We have to search the gym high and low with most times not locating any. They haven't only had one 22.5lb weight for some time now, I have brought this up to the lady at the desk and the GM and they still have not replaced. Coincidentally as I was reaching for the class door, he was also going into the classroom, and he just said "there's no zumba" then walked in. He seemed very unapologetic for inconveniencing others. The sales sharks will make sure you spend 20+ minutes with them if you bring a friend with a free trial pass so make sure you allot extra time. Be sure to ask for specials like $0 sign up or $0 initiation fee. Check to see if your employer offers special pricing, because there's a long list and yours might be on there. If you travel a lot, there's also multi-gym/multi-state offers (usually only $5 more). If you're a member, check out the app for hours and class times. This location has a 2nd floor for cardio, various free weights, pool, hot tub, racquetball, and sauna (broken timer, but still works). I walked in today and I'm trying to figure out how this place is still open when 30% of the machinery have "scheduled for maintenance" signage, 50% of the water fountains also have "scheduled for maintenance" signage, of the equipment that is not "scheduled for maintenance"25% of the machinery is defective. There are two treadmills that will not stop with the "stop" button. There are two different treadmills that do not incline. The stair masters that are functional are loud and rigid and lacking full functionality. There is never soap in the portion of the restrooms with the toilets. I signed up for the classes (bodyworks, bootcamp, kickboxing). I went several times a week for 3 months. The biggest issue is that they didn't offer any classes (besides a cycling class at 5:30am) in the morning before work, so it was after work or nothing. Classes themselves weren't inconsistent - they need to choose 2-3 really good workout classes at more times each day rather than 10 different classes (zumba, step, and cycling were awful). Workouts weren't very structured and I wasn't pushed hard enough. Cancellation process is SUPER annoying but I eventually quit my membership and now going to Orange Theory classes that offer multiple times before work and always very consistent and a hard workout. read more

Definitely one of the nicer LA fitness gyms I've been to. Parking is a no-brainer. Big parking lot. I typically go in the mornings around 5 or 6. Not too crowded. I definitely would avoid going between 5-8. Want to you a bench? Good luck. Free weights? Good luck. Squat racks? Good luck. Basically, when I have to work out after work, I know I'll be limited to using the machines or doing just bodyweight workouts on the mats. Other than that, the equipment machines are pretty nice. I do like how they have more free weights. They have .5 increments (12.5, 22.5). Their hot tub seems to be out quiet a bit... or maybe I just have bad luck. They do have a pool and basketball court as well. They also have punching bags in their fitness room. read more

I use this gym strictly for the pool so you may want to take my review with a grain of salt. But from what I see when I walk I got the gym it looks nice. On 5/19 I went there to cancel my membership and I could only speak with the manager. I advised the polite gentleman that I was on my lunch break. So a white Caucasian lady approached me, I advise her that I wanted to cancel she asked me why. I told her that I didn't have to give her a explanation about why I'm canceling something that she's not paying for. She said that she had to get a reason. I told her that financially I'm strapped. She explained to me that they can freeze it. I told her that I'm paying for something that I'm not using she said that she could freeze it, I told her that I was on my lunch break. That I have to go. They charge major bucks for training and then pay the trainers next to nothing. As a result trainers leave with high regularity. In 6 months we had 4 different trainers with large gaps in between while LA Fitness searched for replacements. The floor hand sanitizers have literally never been stocked (like have been entirely empty) the entire time I've gone here (been months). Brand new location! I am not your typical "gym person," but their great rate of $29.99/month sold me. I've tried two classes so far, Spinning ("cycle zone") and Body Works Plus Abs. Both classes kicked my butt in just the right way because they are adaptable for a wide range of fitness levels. The spin class at 5:45am is perfect for those of us who actually work, and it's nice to be able to go at lunch time and use any of the cardio equipment or weight machines at my leisure, because it's not very crowded between 10am and 2pm (or 5am and 7am, ha!). The showers are clean and have great water pressure, which is important to me if I exercise in the morning and have to grab a quick shower before heading to work. No frills or spa-like features to the locker room (unless you count the sauna), but then again I'm not paying for a spa. It's a gym. This being a new location, all of the equipment is shiny and new. There is a very large variety of weight machines, from your standard bench suff to stations for more targeted muscle groups (glutes and inner thighs, I'm comin' for ya!). There are a ton of cardio machines of many different types: ellipticals, treadmills, stairsteppers, bikes, recumbent bikes, etc. The only con on the cardio machines for me is the t.v. screen attached to each one; this is probably a pro for most people, but it makes me lose focus and sometimes nearly lose my balance. I will state the facts about this location, 1. Exercise classes do not start on time about 70 percent of the time . The teachers are always running in 5 to 19 min late, if they show up at all. 2. If you take spin classes it's about a 50 percent chance it will be cancelled due to audio issues. 3. Home of the front desk shoulder shrug. This will be your response to anything you alert staff to, i.e. No paper towels. 4. Women's bathrooms are nasty. Always clumps of hair in the sink and at least 3 clogged up. 5. The upper level elliptical machines about 50 percent are out of order without signs. My water bottle fell straight down , the cup holder has no bottom. 6. It is always warm or hot in there never cool. 7. They have pool exercise equipment locked up in a cabinet Why ? 8. This company gives zero f$c@s about improving the facility. Went over my goals, my current situation, discussed what I needed, and then gave me an excellent preview of the kind of exercises I'd be doing to achieve those goals. Really made me wish I could afford a personal trainer. She did try to work with me on that, and it was a very fair price (but I knew going in my situation would not allow any extra expense). I've been to a lot of different LA Fitness, not only in GA, but across the country. This is one of the better ones. Mainly due to the fact that it is relatively new. It's a pretty good size and there's plenty of space. Lot's of weight and carido equipment. And all in good shape. I've only noticed there are two free-weight machines they're missing other gyms have. All cardio machines have a TV. They have a decent size swimming pool with about 4 full lanes. Hot tub and sauna are also available. There are 4 racquetball courts in which they hold team and individual tournaments. Full basketball court. They also have a fitness class studio which can be used between classes. Inside are also boxing heavy bags. The spin class room is fairly large with about 50 or so bikes. Schedules for classes can be found on their website. Also a kid's daycare, though it's not available all day. Depending on when you go, it's going to be crowded. But that's for every gym. I find this location starts getting really crowded around 4:30 and doesn't die down until 9pm. Even at 9pm, there's still a good amount of people there. I typically go in the morning when they open at 5am. There's less people at this time than 9pm, so I rarely have to wait on a piece of equipment. I have a thing about taking showers in public places, so I'm not going to comment on those facilities. No gym is good enough for me. Thankfully I only live 5 mins down the road. The men's locker room isn't bad. I feel comfortable putting my stuff inside without a lock. They have one-time use combo lockers you can use for small items such as keys, wallets, etc. Service is ok. I'm not always greeted at the door, but that doesn't bother me. Some reviews seem to have unrealistic expectations like having someone waiting for members to get off cardio machines to immediately wipe them down. They have paper towels and sanitizer throughout the gym to wipe down machines. Do it yourself. For $35 LA Fitness is a great deal. No contract, lots of different types of classes, and access to gyms all over the country. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a gym. Just THINKING about going here gives me anxiety... I'd rather drive the extra 20 minutes to the Sandy Plains location (where their staff are friendly, the gym is in EXCELLENT condition, and the trainers let you workout in peace). I have given this location multiple chances to redeem itself, and each time I am even more disappointed. Each time I have been here, I am constantly accosted by their trainers during my ENTIRE 90 MINUTE WORKOUT. I understand it's their job to gain clientele, but when I politely asked them to stop interrupting my workouts to "chat" or "tell me about their weight loss" or "just show me some neat tricks," they continued to come back to me more frequently. At one point, one of the trainers kept coming up to me and moving my feet or arms so that they were in "proper position," I had to politely ask him to leave me alone. You should NEVER touch someone without asking, even if you are trying to help. I come to the gym to de-stress from my long workday, and I don't need to be constantly asked to buy their services. Do yourself a favor and don't visit this location. There are too many staff working at once, and they treat is as their personal gossip hour. The machines are rusty and unusable half the time. The prices are reasonable, but only if you find the location that works for you. I got in at their $29.99 rate and my husband got the $25.00 rate through his work. read more

Since this facility is almost brand new, it is in excellent shape with really good equipment. The treadmills are top of the line with individual TV sets on each. The rest of the gym is pretty standard as far as LA Fitness facilities go. It is a little more crowded than other LA Fitness gyms in the area I have been to, and one complaint is that they run out of hot water in the showers in the mornings. Unfortunately this site makes you give a star, but this place needs -5 stars. This place is the absolute worst. My husband was injured at their facility on 12/4/18 while under the not so watchful eye of their trainers. We were there for a 7:30 appt and was injured by 8:10pm. They didn't even call the ambulance. When trying to follow up with management Allie E...she stated that she didn't even know about the incident until I called earlier this morning, 12/6/18. She told me the trainers had not been trained on dealing with injuries which is why the ambulance wasn't called and I had to call 911 myself for my husband at the urgent care around the corner. When asked for her bosses information she stated they couldn't give out that information because they could get fired.
