So confused...ordered the round up wrap which is a wrap with vegetables and hummus. The web site gives you a choice of various breads. So I selected sour dough. Placed order for pick up. Plan was to take the sandwich and sit at the park. Picked up order and found a good spot at the park. Opened bag and I was shocked. This is what was in the bag: 1 slice of bread, 1 small container of hummus and 1 medium container of tomatoes, cucumber and carrots. So basically I was given the components to make a sandwich. Not what I expected. And of course; I had no plate nor utensils to make a sandwich. I've had this wrap before and they construct the sandwich. Pretty much a ruined lunch. One of my favorite spots in Golden. The nice staff here deserve 5 stars on their own. I really like the atmosphere, it's very cute and quirky and a good place to meet friends or do a little bit of work. It's not too expensive either which I appreciate. It's definitely just cozy all around. Parking is starting to get more overwhelmed in Golden but the lot behind this place allows you to park for free for like two hours. They've also had a nice little outdoor area since COVID that I think will continue so that's great for the warm months. This place is awesome.This cafe is cute, the service was great even with a crowd, and if you're ever in Golden this is the place to get breakfast. A mix of tourists and locals, families and college students, friends catching up or business associates having a meeting filled in most of the seats. They've even got a little kid area in the back and a library shelf. If I'd been in town longer I'd have gone back to try more of their menu. Well I say that and yet the breakfast burrito was perfection so I could not have gone back and not ordered one. That would just mean ordering more and having leftovers, I'm still in. Next time, Windy Saddle Cafe, next time. I rarely drink coffee at home, but when on vacation I need it since I don't sleep. Here I ordered the Gold Digger, an espresso drink with caramel, chocolate, milk, and optionally topped with whipped cream. I could have done with a touch more caramel in it but it was perfectly fine as is. I just like my coffee as least coffee was possible. I'm mostly alone in this, ha. Still a good coffee drink and I'm glad I picked it but the cinnamon drinks were calling me too. If I didn't have a flight to catch I would have tried another. Flying while I'm flying is not my thing though. The plain croissant was just that and makes for a simple breakfast or light snack. I am not interested in simple or light, ever, so I went with the meat breakfast burrito and had that baby smothered in green chili. Now if you've never had green chili- you are seriously missing out. If you've never had this breakfast burrito with green chili you are also missing out. It was perfect. A little heat, plenty of porky goodness, and just the right of moisture added to this burrito loaded with scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, green chilies, cheese, and sour cream. Wow I stopped into this cafe to try for lunch since I was on the Main Street in Golden. It looked super cute and cozy. When I first walked in it was quite and had such a lovely vibe. We ordered lunch which consisted of one of the salads and the fig and pig sandwich which had prosciutto and fig and cheese in it. These were both huge portions with affordable prices. We loved the food and it came out in a timely manner. It was quite in this cafe which is a great place to study or do work. They even have fresh bakery items. We loved our lunch so much we decided to come back the next day for some smoothies. These were amazing !!!! Such a great place if you don't mind waiting for your food for a bit. We decided to stop here when we were looking for a snack and walking down the main strip in Golden. When walking in - interesting decor. The front part is your typically coffee shop set-up with different chairs and small tables. The back part was interesting with loud colors and a random room for children to play in. I wanted to look at the baked items but the way the line stanchion and tables were - it was hard since there were other customers around. I ordered a chai tea latte. The girl taking my order gave me options of 3 different kinds. I decided on the "spicy" one which I inquired about for more details as to what made it spicy. She said it had a kick but wasn't too bad. I also ordered a baked item - almond cinnamon French toast bar. We were given a number and sat down. Our drinks were called once done so we got up to grab them. Shortly after, our baked item came out. I was actually surprised because I didn't expect it to be heated and then whipped cream to be added so that was a delightful surprise. My chai was not good. It had more that just a kick. Staff recommended the coffee stout coffee cake saying it was always good, but it tastes mushy and with limited flavor aside from its sugary, graham top. Cinnamon roll is 2.5 out of 5 stars. Meh. Coconut chocolate cookie is great! Saved the eating experience for me. Nice and chewy. Fully satisfied the chocolate fiend in me. WiFi is only good for 1 hour. They have a kid's corral - a play room in the back for kids. Nice touch. They have a library which you can donate to - cute idea. Overall, OK vibe and loads of drinks to choose from. OK to bring your laptop and work from, but I would choose another coffee shop in the future for work. read more

Golden, Co. I find it interesting that everywhere I go in this country there is a coffee shop just like this, serving similar foods, and even have the same chalk board menu. This is a good thing as most make delicious coffee as does this place. The latte's here are rich and one of the barista's is a talented latte artist. She is also the one who serves them up good and hot. The other lady only steams the milk slightly above warm, hence four stars instead of five. The quiches are really good even the veggie one. The one with the bacon I wolfed down. The yogurt granola dish has a great presentation and the granola is tasty even though there a few raisin clumps. The WiFi password is posted on the counter so it's easy to log on. Plenty of places to sit and never had to wait for the restroom. read more

The Windy Saddle Cafe is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Golden, CO. We've eaten here on previous trips to Golden and have always found it to be a great place. I had the Rodeo (pastrami) Reuben and my wife had a corned beef Reuben. We had 1 side of chips -- which were really good Boulder Canyon chips from Boulder, CO -- and 1 side of Cole slaw. Both the chips and the slaw were excellent. And the Reuben sandwiches were exceptional. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table. Service was also very good. read more

Exceptionally poor service and customer relations. We were there for Golden Days over the weekend and went in for a bit. I travel with a "real" legitimate trained service animal (golden retriever, Samson) and were asked to leave and refused service. The management is obviously not properly educated on federal ADA law and requirements. We tried to explain where they were in error and to educate them to no avail. I have no idea about their food, but the treatment of their patrons and handicapped guests is far from appropriate and proper. For a town that is know to be dog friendly, there treatment of those that require a working service animal is less than hospitable and friendly. Needless to say, a federal ADA complaint will be submitted. read more

Really cute, small town feeling cafe. I came in for coffee, not expecting them to have so many gf options but ended up leaving with a gf snickerdoodle and a carrot cake cupcake too ! Cookie was more of the crunchy type than my preferred chewy but it had good flavor, you could even taste the butter in it, yum. Carrot cake also had good flavor and the frosting was delicious, but the cake was so moist it seemed like it could have used another couple minutes in the oven. Would have been just fine without the sprinkles on top, imo would have preferred the traditional "orange frosting shaped like a carrot" to the little crunchies. Latte was delicious. Friendly staff. Lots of tables. Good energy. Lots of choices of gf and vegan baked goods. They have "real food" too but I didn't get a chance to try any, this time around. Will have to return :) read more
