We were seated in the lovely outdoor area, which had such a great atmosphere with Mexican music playing in the background. We started with the empanadas, and they were absolutely delicious. For our main dishes, we had the shrimp fajitas and steak tacos--both were flavorful, perfectly cooked, and truly hit the spot. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server, Joely, was awesome--friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcomed, especially on such a busy holiday. Great food, great service, and a beautiful setting. We'll definitely be back!

The night we dined the restaurant was pretty busy, but there were no servers or hosts in sight. After a very brief wait, a server and host/server came out of the kitchen and sat us immediately. We started with horchata to drink, which arrived in mason jars with a dusting of cinnamon. The menu is very seafood heavy, so if you're not into fish or seafood, your options are limited. With that being said, the menu leans authentic Mexican. Every table receives fresh homemade nachos with a black bean topping and two salsas- one mild and one spicy. We decided to do the appetizer sampler so we could try a little of a variety of things. It came with an empanada, elote, nachos, guacamole, and queso fundido. The presentation was awesome, as it arrived on a wooden board. The empanada was cut into 4 pieces and was filled with chicken tinga and cheese. I absolutely loved it, while my friend hated it, which was crazy to me. It was so flavorful and had almost a carnitas flavor to it. The guac was fresh, the nachos were crispy and packed with toppings, elote was flavorful and fresh, and queso fundido was super filling. We almost filled up on the apps, but our birria tacos came out and they were fantastic. Our server poured the hot consommé over onions in a little bowl and the flavor was rich and paired with the birria so well. The corn tortillas were crispy and even though we could only eat one of the three, we took the rest home. We also split a side of Mexican rice and beans, which were average and pretty much what you'd expect. We aren't sure if there is dessert, as there was none on the menu, but we were too full even if we were offered options. Our server was attentive even though it was very busy. All in all, I would give it a 4 and my dining companion would give it a 3 so 3.5 would be perfect. However I went up to a 4 because I enjoyed what I ordered and think it deserves that half of a star.

My best friend and I have been wanting to try Femmina since he moved to Medford a year again…read more Finally the situation presented itself and we decided to head there on a Friday night. The parking lot was PACKED and it took a bit to find a spot. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait, which was significantly less than I thought considering they do not take reservations for parties less than 6. We were actually sat in 15 minutes and our server brought us waters and Arnold palmers while we perused the menu and specials. After placing our order, a food runner brought us buttery warm garlic rolls and a different style of crusty bread as well. We decided to start with the arancini ( Italian rice balls) which came with four huge rice balls stuffed with a ground beef bolognese style and served with marinara. Our house salads came with a thousand island style dressing and consisted of chopped romaine, grape tomatoes, and cucumbers. Very basic but the dressing seemed like it could be made in house. For our entrees, I did the limoncello chicken and my best friend did the paparadelle with lobster. Mine had the most decadent lemon cream sauce bathing several chicken cutlets covered in crab meat with melted cheese and a huge mound of capellini. His was covered in chunks of lobster claw meat, mushrooms, prosciutto, and peas with a sherry blush sauce. Both entrees were huge and we took more than half home but everything was delicious. For dessert we opted to share the tiramisu since it's made in house. It had a thin layer of chocolate on top, which made for the most delicious mocha flavor. Our server was wonderful, the place was packed with people celebrating birthdays and everyone sang every time another candlelit dessert was paraded through the dining room. The ambience is cozy and comfortable and I can't wait to go back!
