Szechuan beef
Julie P.

The potstickers are awesome. The Szechuan beef was lacking in beef. Almost the entire quart of food was celery and pea pods.. The pea pods were tasty but nonetheless it was a beef dish. The general Tso chicken was not spicy. And the refried rice served with the dish was clearly something prepackaged, and was not truly fried rice. Combined that with a crappy eggroll, and you have yourself a true failure of a Chinese dinner. I'm truly disappointed in this restaurant because they've always done better before but this was a true waste of a meal.

Very clean restaurant. One of the cleanest I have ever been in. The owner was very friendly. Ordered sweet and soup chicken lunch and it's very good. They add green pepper, onions, carrots, pineapple and zucchini to the fresh chicken. Very good service but I ordered a to go order with white rice instead of fried rice but still got fried rice and the rice had a burnt smell to it. The egg drop soup was very good and so was the egg roll. This place is a third generation restaurant and has won best Chinese restaurant multiple years and I would agree with its awards. Almost a five star restaurant for me and reasonably priced.

They have one of the best almond chicken I have had in a long while. Really like the taste of the sauce. Fried rice is really good also.

Service was fast and friendly. Our crab rangoons were excellent. Food portions were large enough to share. Would definitely go back.

Not my usual go to Chinese food restaurant. I won't be going back. The food was overcooked. Not good at all.

Hong Kong Express I…read morereally wanted his place to be good. I've lived in Saginaw for about 20 years of my life and we make some good Chinese food. I've had the best Chinese food. Bar none. I've been a dishwasher for a good Chinese restaurant, waiter, and a cook. I know my menu and how each dish should taste. Here we go. Another test. Can this place live up to the name? Let's go. Small place. Express only. Few chairs. The woman at the front desk was very nice. Good service. Service with a smile. I ordered Pepper Steak and Szechuan chicken. The two basic dishes. Pepper steak tasted correct. Spot on. Szechuan was clearly off. Did not taste correct. The sauce was more like sweet and sour. Clearly the wrong sauce. I really had high hopes. Another disappointed. You might enjoy, but to me, I'm still looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant. Not here. I see a lot of customers. It's sad they don't know what good Chinese food is. I also want to express that this place gives small portions of meat. "Dragon Palace" in Vassar gives huge portions of meat and everything. That's what sells. Cutting corners does not sell. My Szechuan dinner was basically all veg and hardly an meat. Yes, I can see the difference. Hit up "China 1" in hazel park, MI for excellent Real Chinese food. Also try "Dragon Palace" in Vassar, MI for great Real Chinese food. Enjoy. To each his own. Highly Recommended

My family and I are in town for the weekend and were looking for a Chinese restaurant to eat at…read more There's a difference between take-out "Chinese Food" and authentic, would-eat-at-home Chinese food. We saw that there's mostly only the former in Clarkston, probably due to the small Asian population here. After seeing the very polarized reviews of this restaurant, we thought it'd be best to go try it ourselves. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, adorned with traditional Chinese decor and clean, red seats. There weren't too many people when we first entered, but as we ordered a couple more families came in (Friday, dinnertime). The menu had the basic "Chinese" items as well as some Thai options as well. They all looked okay for the type of Chinese food I was expecting, and while my Chinese parents probably wanted a home cooked meal, this would do for me! The waiter came and brought us waters and then the manager/owner/the-like came out and greeted us in Chinese! She said there aren't many Chinese people who come and that if nothing on the menu was suitable, they happened to be cooking for themselves and offered us some more authentic dishes. We waited a while and saw some other people get their food with what I'm assuming was complimentary rice and soup, and then our dishes came out: Mapo Tofu Fried Chicken Strips with Special Sauce Bitter Melon and Sardines (? I think) Chinese Chives and Pork Stomach (? Also unsure of translation haha) White Rice (my fav) Everything was SO GOOD... My mom literally ate half the sardines and bitter melon dish by herself. The Mapo Tofu wasn't that spicy. The owners are GuangDong Ren and still managed to speak Mandarin to my parents. (If you know, you know). Not too pricey in comparison to other authentic Chinese Restaurants. If you are looking for some real, homemade Chinese food -- in addition to typical, delicious "Chinese Food", I urge you to come here. The waiter and owner were so nice, not just to us but to other guests as well. There's also a bar and pick-up/take-out options available!

Owners' son was unfreiendly and kind of grumpy. On top of that they want you to pay for real plum sauce for egg roll.
