My husband and I visited this place while we were getting him ready to move out of base on 29palms & it became our FAVORITE restaurant in the city! The food was SO GOOD! The Jamaican jerk chicken, 20/10 delicious. We got a sampler that came with wings, fried fish, fried and hush puppies as well as a shrimp po'boy sandwich and some fried pickles. Everything was seasoned so well and left us with full belly's and happy faces! The staff was so wonderful, it almost felt as if we were in someone's home being fed! First off when you walk in you're greeted with big smiles and welcoming energy. There aren't any bells and whistles when it comes to dining. It's a super super chill place for sure.But I grabbed my food to go anyways. I didn't get a ton to eat but I tried the chicken wings and the red beans and rice. These wings are some of the best wings I've head in there area. They're saucy, juicy and cooked well. I do wish they were a little more crispy and since my wings were jerk, they should've had way more spice than they had. It's a good things they were still tasty!!! The red beans and rice were ok and I feel they could've had a tad more seasoning but they weren't totally bland just to be clear. I've been meaning to come here on fried chicken Fridays for a while. It did not disappoint. Very very good comfort food. I had leg and 2 thighs, collard greens and plenty of Louisiana hot sauce. Served fresh and piping hot. The service was on point and everyone was so nice and courteous. I'll be back for gumbo. I believe it's the first and third Sundays that they do gumbo. I came in on Soul Food Sunday, and was informed by my gracious waitress, Tara, of the special of the day: smothered pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans! Our waitress was very gracious and ensured we were made aware of the specials of the day, as she walked us through the menu while giving us insight on the freshness of the food when served along with the favorite dishes. We ordered the hush pupies, which were crispy but moist with very good flavor...The food came out quickly. We decided to do the special with two sides. Wings, fried to perfection Dusted lightly not over fried or dried out. Yummy and adicting, you couldnt have just one or two. Way tasteir than that chain version of wings. We ordered a lemon pepper sauce and Buffalo ranch on the side. Our sides were Coleslaw and Baked Beans. I loved the coleslaw, it was fresh flavorful with a little kick., lightly tossed in a very good dressing, not soggy. The Coleslaw went well with the wings. The Baked Bean were rich tasting. So good. Our waitress was very attentive, and told us dishes that were specials coming up on Sunday, This was the inside scoop on a hard to find dish, we were excited to hear it Angie the Owner came out to say hi. (16 wing combo with two large sides, got Mac n cheese and Cajun fries) but the food came out in less than 10 minutes after ordering. Hot fresh and ready. The service was excellent as you felt you were at home. Great ambiance mix great music, and a great staff. From the owner, server, and cook. All three greeted me asking how I liked it. After hiking the trails in the Joshua Tree NP, we craved for some protein. Well, the wings hit the spot but the sauce was a little mixed up. We ordered Jerk, Garlic Parmesan and BBQ. None of it tasted like Jerk as the one that was supposed to be Jerk tasted like Sweet Chilli. The staff was friendly and acknowledged that boss was not in Saturday and someone didn't know how to make the sauce. They brought out a little Jerk sauce later on with the distinct cumin, thyme and all spice flavors. I was also glad to find that they had collard greens as a side! The portions are generous and prepared to order. My Okie husband LOVES the fried catfish and usually gets red beans'n'rice and mac'n'cheese as sides. One of my the best food experiences I've had in a long time. My friends and I stopped by here dinner while visiting Joshua Tree National Park and it was just what we after a long day hiking out in the heat/ sun. We arrived just after sunset and were promptly sated and given menus to place our orders. The restaurant itself is very homey and cozy. Plenty of seating for groups of up to 4-6 people. We also got to see some live music (I believe the performer - Lizard of Ahhhz - is there every Wednesday and Saturday!) Each of us ended up getting our own combos - I got the "Eddies Double Up" Which is 8 wings and two sides. I picked Mango Habanero and Jamaican Jerk as my wing flavors and got some Collard Greens and Rice and Beans for my sides. Food came out promptly and was fresh. Everything we had was fantastic - the wings were great and both the wing sauces I got were both a perfect blend of Sweet and Savory. If there was an option for more wings (without sides) I totally would've got it - the wings were truly fried to perfection The sides were also executed really well - notably the rice and peas. I also tried the green beans one of my friends got and they were perfect. Through other friends in our group I got to try a koolaid pickle (better than i expected) and the cinnamon roll cake (so so SO good - deffo wish I had an appetite to try the other desserts ) On top of the food, service here was nothing short of phenomenal. Our waitress was extremely friendly and personable and took the time to explain the menu to us and check up on us frequently. Overall, my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Wing n It and I'd recommend anyone visiting JTNP to stop by here. I know i'll be stopping by the next time I visit the area. read more

This may or may not have been the highlight of my Joshua Tree trip! Wing N It is exactly what you need after a long day hiking in the heat... or after a day of doing absolutely nothing. The hot honey and garlic parm wings were delicious, the rice & beans were just as good, and the green beans were even better. I finished the meal with a crazy good cinnamon roll cake and my first ever Kool Aid pickle. I liked the cake more than the pickle, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the pickles perfect balance of sweet and salty. The service was excellent, our waitress gave every single one of us suggestions and walked us through the whole menu. Plus, she was very charming! Definitely made our group laugh a couple times. I was also surprised by the live music! The guitarist cracked a couple good jokes and definitely added to the overall experience. My boyfriend and I were super hungry after a day in Joshua Tree. We had ordered food over at Rib Co, but wanted to also try something else too. From the Bay Area we have pretty high expectations for food but were surprised with how good the wings were. We ordered takeout (8 wings) of smackin' and lemon pepper, and side of Mac and Cheese and fries. We thought the sides were just OK, nothing that stood out too much--but the wings and sauce were DELICIOUS. We ended up coming back the next day after doing multiple hikes in Joshua Tree and ordered 40 wings hahaha. This time we got garlic parmesan, smackin', Jamaican jerk, mango habanero. Garlic parmesan is THE BEST. They did it so right. Highly recommend if in the area! Way better tasting than Rib Co, and a lot more affordable. Rib Co. was super mid. Last night we noticed the "now open" sign outside of this restaurant and stopped in to take a peek at the menu. I was immediately greeted by Ebony and Sparkle. Ebony set me up with a menu and showed me all of the delicious options there are before I went out to the car to collect my family's order. When I came back into place my order Sparkle and Ebony took very good care of me offered up some friendly conversation while I waited for everything to cook. Both of these ladies have such an exceptional personality and talent with conversation that I was more than happy to wait and actually surprised how quickly time went by. I ran out to the car one more to hand my family the dessert that we ordered along with some water and by the time I got back to the door Ebony had met me there with our order ready to go. That level of customer service is above and beyond and I cannot wait to go back and see these girls again based on the service alone. Let's get into the food though shall we? These wings came out so hot and crispy. They were loaded with flavor and those were probably the best lemon pepper wings I've ever had! As for the sides, the red beans and rice is on a whole different level. I have a tiny bit of spice to it and was also delicious. We really enjoyed the green beans as well! Then finishing off the meal we got the toffee cake which was large enough to share for two people and the perfect amount of sweetness to finish a meal. I highly recommend you check them out.
