Long overdue review for this company. I had a large loss from a fire, and Wingard was selected after some let downs from other bids. The process wasn't perfect, but overall Wingard worked with me and met my expectations. This industry can be tight in regards to profit margins so I understand why negotiations can be necessary to agree on prices with your insurance. Wingard isn't the cheapest but they are fair and work closely with your insurance to get the job done. read more

A few months back a drunk driver ran into our house causing a significant amount of damage to the exterior, kitchen, and garage. Our insurance agent recommended Wingard because several of his other clients had Wingard do work for them. The physical work on the house just started but we've been planning the renovations for a couple months now. So far we are very satisfied. Our project coordinator Shanell has been wonderful. She is accessible whenever I have any questions, and she always gives us time when we want to talk about the project or make changes. Matt our project manager is equally amazing. We have done several major projects since buying our house and Wingard has been the best contractor we've worked with so far. I will update the review once the job is done. My house sustained flood damage in last winter's storm. Travelers Insurance referred me to a couple of companies of which I opted for Wingard. They've been amazing. Matt is my project manager and couldn't be more helpful, professional, kind and a delight to work with. He answers every phone call or text promptly, and never gets rattled by anything that comes up. Wingard did a great job for me. After my insurance company declined the repairs under the coverage, I went to several contractors for bids. Wingard was responsive, but more than that, they did what they said and showed up when they said they would. They kept me up to date every day on the progress and finished early. The people were great and the work was great. The work was done faster than expected, and when I received the bill, it was the same as the quote with no surprises or hidden fees. I went on vacation last August and came back to a flooded downstairs as a result of a busted pipe. I contacted insurance and a water restoration company who recommended Wingard. I am SO happy the did. From the moment Bror came out to inspect and write estimates to the time everything was completed, I could not have asked for a better construction company to work with. The work that needed to be completed was flooring, kitchen cabinets, walls, a hallway, a bathroom, and a closet. Wingard employees were always showing up to work hard and every crew for every type of specialization went over and above in their area of expertise. They were all professional and respectful and since I work at home this is all I could ask for during this difficult time. Our family's house was destroyed in a fire back in March 2021. The fire department had this company board up the house, and months later, they e-mail a family member stating it would be "beneficial to (us)" to ask the insurance company to cover their outstanding balance after already saying "I am sure you don't want to have to cover this invoice." The message tried portraying a delicately threatening tone. Being in the insurance field myself, it is inappropriate and unprofessional to go after the family who went through a recent traumatic event knowing very well this is an expense to be taken up with the insurance company. There wouldn't be a scenario where the family would have to pay for any outstanding invoices if the fire insurance claim is active and verified. I spoke to our insurance rep., and they confirmed they've never heard from this company. Being in this field, I'd assume Wingard Construction, Inc. would know how to seek payment from the insurance carrier instead of going after the family. Your false efforts in reaching out to the insurance and going after my family is reckless and unprofessional. Please do better. read more

We had a house fire in 2012. The insurance company hired Wingard to make repairs. Repairs were not complete until 2015. The job foreman repeatedly lied about delays and had to re-do work that was done wrong. I was pressured into telling the insurance company that the job was complete before they finished so that they could get paid and then everyone who worked on my house left the company. I was told I had a 5-year warranty on their work, but every time I've called (leaking roof, furnace stopped working, breakers continually tripping), they claim they can't find my file and have no records regarding the work. I have to jump through hoops just to have someone acknowledge that they even worked on my house. Wingard doesn't seem to care at all about their work once the check has cleared. If you must use them, watch them like a hawk and make sure you find out who all their subs are so you can go to them directly when repairs are needed. read more

Wingard was recommended to us by insurance after a huge water leak in our home occurred. There was extensive damage to both levels, floors, walls and ceilings!!! In my opinion, they were responsive, courteous, intelligent, and a pleasure to have in my home. They were able to turn a devastating event into a blessing because everything is new and beautiful now. All materials are updated and my house looks like a model home from a magazine. It's better than before and I am so thankful to them. The workers that came to help were all top notch. Jeff was our project manager. He would instantly text me back with any question I had on any day of the week at any time of day. I relied on him and he was there. He also worked around my schedule as an "in home" piano teacher and let me set the schedules so that I could still teach lessons when I needed to. All workers were 100% on time OR early and present daily without fail. Johnny put down our new flooring. Not only was he a superb craftsman who made zero mistakes, he was sweet and funny. Gilbert did a lot of the moldings/trim and wood work. He was incredibly bright and knowledgeable. He worked fast and cleaned up every last piece of debris each day. Matt did some flooring upstairs for us and he was delightful, as were the 2 dry wall guys whose names escape me. Great guys!!! Upon completion, I inspected every inch of work they did up close. My Mom's water heater burst in December 2015 and AAA brought in Wingard Construction for the repairs. I have to say I cannot disagree more with the 1 star reviews. Rodney, our estimator was a pleasure to work with and had some very helpful suggestions when my mother wanted to go with different flooring treatments and to get the house repainted (which AAA refused to cover, but that's another review). Mike, our project manager was communicative, helpful, polite, and bent over backward to accommodate scope changes on the fly. They could have gotten the work done in three weeks with the scope changes. In fact they had most of it done in two. The only delay we experienced was the delay we caused in getting them the bathroom fixtures to be installed. Their subcontractors did an exceptional job on the drywall patching, painting, flooring, and bathroom plumbing work. The house looks fabulous and my mother could not be more pleased with the result. Wingard Construction sub-contractors did not meet our standards at all. They lack standards of excellence; they are very slow in their work. They never call back or show up on time, they make excuses and we are the customers they should care about us. It took us 3 months to receive our paint can back from them. I had to call the corporate office in Concord to get it back. The only nice people that work there, that care about their customers are the receptionists in both the Concord & Lodi offices. read more

Wingard was assigned to our claim by our insurance company after we had significant water damage due to a broken pipe. They did an excellent job and helped us put our house back together again. However, the standout throughout the entire experience was our project manager Tim Klob. He was very reliable and responsive, even replying to texts and calls on evenings and weekends. He has extremely high standards for the work that they do and made sure that everything was done to our and his complete and absolute satisfaction. To say that Tim went above and beyond would be an understatement. For example, we decided to replace our toilets while all the construction was happening. Although the new toilets were separate from the project they were there to do he assembled the toilets for us so that they'd be ready for installation once the flooring guys were done. He even hauled our old ones away so I didn't have to deal with dismantling them myself. Yuck. Also, we had been forced to live in a hotel for 2 1/2 months due to the extensive nature of the damage. Tim knew we were desperate to get home and made sure we got in as soon as possible. Although he is technically the project manager he personally came down and wrapped up the repairs himself instead of waiting to send one of his guys. In fact he stayed till after 9pm just to finish up. I definitely recommend Wingard. My only constructive feedback would be that I wish the estimate/bid process were a bit faster. And if you have the option make sure you request Tim as your project manager. He definitely helped to make the best out of a pretty crummy situation. read more

Wingard Construction just finished work at my home today. I have nothing but great things to say about everyone at the company. Joe Baughman was the Service Manager and three separate workers did the actual sheetrock, texturing, paint, and cabinetry. All were professional, friendly, did a super job, and cleaned up when finished. You would never tell that there was damage there before they started! Everything was explained thoroughly and each step was followed through immediately by everyone. My damage was caused when SOSA GRANITE put granite in my upstairs bathroom and their plumber, MARCELLO of NICKEL AND DIME PLUMBING, didn't secure the P-Trap, causing water to go from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor. Rip-off artists preying on people in an insurance claim situation. I didn't hire them. They were called in by an insurance crew. They managed to stretch a simple tarp job into overtime. They charge $73 for a plastic tarp and $8 for a sand bag! They did a good job of temporarily protecting the roof, but with a flourish of overkill. Can not say enough about how great this company is. We had water damage from a roof leak extending across three sections of ceiling that were at two different angles and three different heights, down two panels of wall and one decorative wooden beam. We've all heard stories of nightmare projects, but Wingard Construction was an absolute daydream. Every person I was in contact with was a lovely balance of professional and friendly. Don explained everything clearly as he assessed the work required and Pam was very helpful when going over the paperwork. Also whoever answers the phone is an absolute darling. (I'm so sorry I neglected to get your name.) Avery and Juan in particular were mind-bogglingly good at the actual repair work. Unbelievably efficient and effective. You got the feeling you were watching masters at work, you know? They were super respectful of our home, too. Protected our floors and un-involved walls perfectly, and took the wall protection all down in the evenings even though it wasn't impeding our ability to use the house at night. Insurance adjuster said their quote was totally reasonable, and Avery and Juan even got the work done in three days instead of five-to-six. They cleaned up so well my floor looked better than when they first arrived, and they were only there for the ceiling and walls. Still dealing with the fallout from an insurance claim job initiated by them...I was compelled to cancel the contract (translation: FIRED them) after repeated bumblings that included having employees of apparently questionable "on-the-job sobriety" working in my home. My review of this company is no longer here, so I will repost my experience from two years ago. They were hired to fix a wall where water was leaking through. They hired people to do cosmetic work to the inside of the wall and outside of the house. The next time it rained, the water leaked again and ruined the work that I had already paid for. I tried many times to contact them so that we could continue the work to fix the wall, calling both the office and the so called project manager directly. When I switched phones the project manager finally picked up and was actually laughing like "haha, you got me" when he realized it was me. You are making a mistake by hiring these people. I can't believe the other reviews are legitimate. I read Mr. Winguard's response, and I will add that I never received a bill. When the project manager finally came by, he thumbed through a dirty stack of papers and said that he had forgot to give the invoice to so and so at his office. I paid the bill immediately after I received it. My last comment is that after they have your money (or assume that they have), they won't bother with you again. read more

Slow as molasses and irresponsible. First off, I didn't hire this company and wouldn't ever refer them to anyone. Kris was supposed to be at my house at 7:00 a.m. this morning. After I drag myself out of bed to get ready for him, he never showed up. He didn't call and apologize. It took them way too long to finish this job because they appear to be extremely disorganized. My HOA insurance company hired Wingard to rebuild my condo that was involved in a fire. It was a long painful process, because we needed the city's approval to demolish and rebuilt, it has to be up to the new codes, etc, it's just never ending, delay after delay. But Rick the manager maintain a good effort to push and keep things rolling. He also gave me advice in deciding what material best to use, and other helpful advices that I really appreciate. Extremely Terrible Customer Service!!! They have no concerns for customers! Irresponsible! I would not even give them one star if I could! They were sent to my house by AAA but they were slow in responding or did not respond at all. I always had to initiate follow ups and with that, I had to wait for months. They told me one thing in front of my face and went back to AAA with something totally different. I still don't get why but I am still waiting for their response. Been waiting for months. This company was paid $10,000 to start work on a damaged roof in May 2016. It is now August and they have not yet started. They have a construction manager who says he does not have authority, and their receptionist, Joy, says the office manager and owner who have authority do not have business cell phones. We heard that a fire reconstruction takes longer than a regular rebuild.Although it was a long wait we couldn't be happier with the results.Troy, Glen and team transformed our burned down house to a finished beautiful home.Troy is easy to work with, very professional and delivers to what he says he would do.Troy and team are all customer oriented people, they listen to what you have to say and need.They take time to explain what they will work on and the final results. They are reliable even after we have moved in. Something happened and we lost power at night.I gave Troy a call and he came by on a Friday night. I received extremely high quality work, and I found that the professionals at Wingard Construction are the best on the business. My project manager, Mr. Chris Lietz, handled everything perfectly with regard to replacing the leaking dining room window. Mr. Lietz served as quality control inspector as well. He ensured that the repairs, and refinishing the house exterior, were seamless with the home's existing exterior finishing. Even if I was happy, he ensured that the work was up to the highest quality standards. When the work was completed, I was indeed, very pleased. The work crews were also professional, and easy to work with. They always left the worksite in tidy, clean condition, when the work was ongoing. Short version: pipe burst in ceiling, AAA hired incompetents from hell (BMS CAT) who tore out entire wall, cabinets, sink, countertops,everything, lk they were doin demo. Btwn them, leak detection n lead test, someone knocked another pipe loose pre re-install, and BMS attempted to close it up with a river flowing dwn wall. After saying cabinets and countertops were lk that when they started, they walked off job. AAA DIDN'T gt another co or payout for 5 mos. ADD in a tenant from hell who not only doesnt pay rent, but doesnt pay pge either,(u see where this is going?), but calls the city/county and anyone else who'll add drama to an easy job. Wingard had done some wk @ my duplex a coupla yrs ago and i decided to try them after 30 sorry, no-can-do's. Mr W came out, gv project to Jeff, and here we go. Btwn the sabotaging tenant, the city n county, this easy fix had so many diff issues n upgrades that now had to be done it was ridiculous. JEFF was phenomenal, and patient, cause this was no easy task and i was at my wits end. After 6 mos of dealing with an incompetent aaa rep, sheisty contractors, and a deadbeat tenant, jeff/wingard came in, got to wk n did the job completely and competently n abt 6 wks. Even after repairs, jeff has been avail to help gt all city/pge issues resolved (yeah, pge was denying power due to bill of 1000'S of dollars unpaid..smh). Our bathroom received water damage from a leaking pipe behind the wall in late 2013. Our insurance recommended Wingard for a previous claim we'd make so we decided to go with them again. All the work done was done well by all the subs and Wingard. My problem is with getting Wingard to answer my emails about not receiving the balance owed to us from what AAA paid them and what we're owed (we decided to buy the bathroom vanity ourselves) and so far 2 emails have gone unanswered. I don't do well with making actual phone calls so I thought since they have their email address on their business cards, I use that. We have been issued a partial refund for flooring costs but would like to hear from Wingard about the vanity issue. It is our money. read more

This is a very frustrating company to work with. The estimator was fine but when we set up an appt with our new project manager everything went downhill. Chris, the project manager forgot about the appt and when we called the office he claimed he had never missed an appt. I looked at other Yelp reviews and saw this wasn't the first time! He never returned phone calls, never gave us updates, we had to call the office and complain to get any action.
