I was pretty hesitant to come here for wings after the "yellow flabby" review, but decided to give it a shot anyways. Ordered the Jamaican jerk, medium buffalo, red curry, and bourbon bbq. All were tender and delicious but the Jamaican jerk was the best, perfectly cooked with a unique and flavorful rub. I got my order to go in their last hour of being open. It was a gamble, but everything was great. The bartender was friendly and atmosphere was good for a college town bar. I didn't have a chance to get rejected by Hannah, but I probably wouldn't have talked fishing and hunting with her, maybe dressage and pleasure boating? Really cool place. Loved the ambiance and they had a nice beer selection. Our server was super friendly and attentive. We had the cheese curds, Gouda Burger, & Bacon Cheeseburger. All were tasty - cooked as ordered & flavorful. So why only 3 stars? We arrived at 6pm & ordered shortly thereafter. Our appetizer arrived in a timely manner but we weren't served our burgers until 7:30pm! Since we were traveling & didn't have anywhere else to run off to it wasn't a huge issue for us, but it's worth considering if you're in a rush since this is somewhat of a theme in the reviews that I read. When our burgers arrived our waitress thanked is for our patience & told us that our burgers would be on the house since we waited so long. Classy & very much appreciated. Wish I had ordered the medium as they are not as large as one might think based on the menu advertising, but they were very good. I had the Sweet BBQ rub and it was delicious. We were in Walla Walla for the Hot Air Balloon Stampede. The Customer service was amazing. Even when our burgers were way to overcooked (just to inform). The bartender Bill told us that was not up their standards and the Manager Nicole took care of both burgers and said she was embarrassed. In preparation for an afternoon of wine tasting we wanted to have a hearty meal. This was just the place! It was early lunch hour and not crowded, so service was efficient and quick. Both the young women that waited on us were personable and attentive to making our dining experience a good one. I highly recommend the onion rings that we ordered for the table...sweet onions, great batter that stayed on the onion and then finished with a light grilling. We also ordered Cougar gold fries...can't go wrong with sharp cheese and fries. The portion wasn't too generous; good for 2 to share. Both couples at our table split hamburgers and they kindly put them on separate plates and gave each of us our own side salad without us requesting it. Great food and service! read more

The wings were good, but the experience isn't. Just our first time there, so hopefully an off Saturday night. First off, the place was less than half full, but we were seated in between two full tables as I suspect each server and the bartender do not share tips. Just one server would talk to us, the other 4 would walk right past and not take plates or look at us. It was also difficult to know who worked there as each worker wore different street clothes, no uniforms which is cool for them. No water is given, so ask for that too. It's during Covid during winter and the ceiling fans blew napkins off of our table and off of the oblivious servers dirty trays onto our table as they mindlessly walked by as well. We had two kids with us who were excited to get some fun food, and they enjoyed the chicken tenders and cheese curds, but they wanted sandwiches. The pb&j's, cheese sandwich, and ham sandwich on the kids menu are all on sourdough- I guess the owners must have very fancy palate children. We will possibly try this place again without kids, but hopefully the place works more like a team and thinks about giving customers more of a special experience along with a tasty meal. read more

Walked out today. This was my first visit to Wingman Birdz + Brewz in awhile, so was looking forward to an enjoyable brew and meal. Was seated promptly by a gracious and engaging host, only to be left sitting without further service for close to 20 minutes. I'm no diva, more often than not I am making excuses for poor service, botched orders, etc. But, seriously, 20 minutes without any interaction with wait staff? I'm a big fan of this establishment, and will most certainly return. For today, though, not impressed. read more

My wife and I came up for a weekend of wine tasting. Our first night someone at a winery suggested this place. Went in and it was somewhat busy, got a table outside. We asked about their happy hour and the server seemed really confused. She said she would have to check? Usually a happy hour is a pretty defined thing, so I am not sure what the problem was. She came back and said it changed recently but it includes what we wanted. Ordered 2 beers, which I think they poured us the wrong ones but that was okay. We ordered 12 boneless wings to share, with 4 sauces (3 wings of with each sauce). Our server brought our food which was 12 bone in wings, with 4 sauces except it was 4 wings of 3 of the sauces, and then a random saucer of the additional sauce to dip in? We told her we ordered boneless, she took it back and brought the correct one to us. The sauce thing confused me because why would I want to dip an already sauced wing in another sauce? Anyways they got it figured out and it was fine. The wings were good, nothing amazing but good. Overall the place was mediocre. Probably the best food we had in Walla Walla which isn't saying all that much. We were also charged an additional fee for the 4th sauce which seemed odd because what we ordered was on the menu for a set price. read more

The wings here are great. And if you like IPAs like I do then you should definitely go here. Also, they're one of the few places that play the TV sound during Monday night football. So that's an added bonus to the food and beers. read more

Atmosphere: Saturday night and it was a busy, loud, bustling scene with local music, college football on the tv, and generally delightful patrons. The wait for tables was normally long for an event weekend (20-40 minutes). The wait for a solo gentleman at the bar was nil so I made some friends. Food: Smoked Gouda BBQ Burger. I held the BBQ sauce and the combination was good. The burger was ordered medium and came out well. Still, it was good. The hand cut fries were very good. Drinks: Here is where I was impressed. The tap selection was delightful. They had only one cider on draft but it was from Blue Mountain as was a delicious dry cider, which is what I was drinking. Where I was impressed is by the bartender, Mathew I believe, who took great care with the drinks he created and his counterpart (I didn't get her name) did the same. Mathew's care for his cocktails were immediately evident as he skipped no step in the process to create hand-made (no pre-mixers) elixirs. What caught my eye was when he stirred a cosmopolitan for 20 seconds before straining and serving. Most bartenders would have only stirred it twice, if at all. And then I left contented knowing that the bartenders at Wingmans took great pride in their work. read more

What follows is a modified version of a message sent to the owner of Wingman's: 'While I have found an exceptional experience in every visit, namely in service, food and beverage options, it has been a real displeasure to visit on two evenings in particular. Restaurant business and etiquette is a preoccupation of mine. Filtering an experience requires the factors that guests can lack empathy and human error is unavoidable. However, their bartender, who seems to care more about socializing than the recognition of patrons entering and sitting in the establishment brings this response. The manner he speaks to guests as a default host, or ignores them, is a total put-off. Entering and sitting at a bar for five plus minutes waiting to be acknowledged while only four other guest are present is suspect, which entailed me simply getting up to leave and relocating to a section for possible service, which was pleasant in the end with another attentive server. The other reaction I have had was one of my less gracious. I am not congenial when being ignored after placing an order, finishing it, served a ticket, presented payment, him running the payment, and then becoming involved in banter and other miscellaneous tasks which don't particularly seem dire. Could I get a ticket to sign? No. His tip was in the bag I suppose in his estimate. If you are outside of the early twenty-something age group or are walking in as you approach kitchen's close, consider that management places this person in a location to serve as a first point of contact. The bartender may be a fine person to know once you sift through his personality. But this isn't and should never be a prerequisite to get reasonable service. There was no apology sought and have only informed them of the situations now. If a bartender is unable to survey from glancing what guests' needs might be or their obvious signals, and one has to resort to yelling over the moderate noise to get attention so you can simply sign to leave, then be alerted that this is a place which isn't for you. The repeat business they are losing from this single guest is a once or twice per week purchase of meal and drink. Never tip a server/bartender who doesn't perform the reasonable duties with moderate polity. It isn't wrong to educate them that their behavior that is out of sync with reasonable expectations. They will learn by trial and error what to do, or they will leave from poor wages. The business model seems to inspire anything but repeat business. Inexperience is an unavoidable situation and it is remedied through situations such as this. The bartender otherwise seemed to know the job and you may assume he will probably turn out to be an acceptably average bartender. Perhaps my experiences are merely isolated incidents. Two of his female patrons seemed to feel my outburst was uncalled for and this was only an "off-night" for him as it would be for any human being. I do question if I have simply caught him in two "off-nights" in a row. But I can't and won't make it a third fail and I don't plan on growing breasts or "bro-ing" it up with this guy just to get decent service or a special beer. I do hope they improve, but it won't be through my patronage. read more

Our first visit to Wingmanz was great! Jeana was our server and did a wonderful job. She was attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu and the Wingmanz card. I asked her to choose between two burgers and she brought the smoked gouda burger. Absolutely delicious! Meat cooked perfectly, dripping a bit with each bite. I would order it again. My husband enjoyed his buffalo chicken burger, and would order it again. The house cut fries were hot and delicious. We thought we found a new favorite place to have dinner! We went back tonight. Very different experience. Our waitress (AO) was busy with the table behind us and we seemed like an afterthought. I ordered the Chipotle burger. If someone else had ordered this for me, I would have no idea what it was, other than a burger with avocado and soggy bits of tortilla chips--I would not order this again. The patty melt also needed a little more sauce. Both of our fries were just a bit warmer than room temperature. His margarita tasted more like a lime rickey. But, the hamburgers were mostly juicy and the food was brought out quickly. We will try Wingmanz one more time. Our fist visit we would rate five star; tonight we would give it a two star. Not sure if there was a different chef, but the food tonight was mediocre, and the service didn't even rate that high. On a side note: this is a family establishment with small children. Customers, if you feel the need to drop the "f" bomb, please go to a bar where children aren't present. This is not a quiet restaurant, so if I can hear you say "F***ing" 50 feet away, so can the kids. read more

I think this is a bit overpriced ($1.66 per wing) even if the food is perfect, but to pay that for the product we got? Insane. Eating the wings was like chewing leather... every single one of them. Had a gift card to use here so we looked them up for lunch. We live an hour away in kennewick. It was well worth the drive to attend the farmers market and grab lunch. We both had a salad after an appetizer of hummus and pita. You have your choice of a full or a half salad. That's always nice because the half portion was plenty. My husband had a full portion and couldn't finish it! The raspberry vinaigrette was awesome, I bought some to bring home. Our server was new but she did a great job. I'm giving 4 stars over 3 visits, but really tonight was a 3. First two times you cut them some slack as they are working out the bugs. The wings first time were spot on. When it said 2 clucks of heat, they meant it. Last two visits, they were off on their heat scale, too hot. The rubs tonight were WAY too much! Like they had sat in the rub, sooo overwhelmingly salty/sweet. Not pleasant. The Manila were good. I also don't want to pay for a tiny broken wing, of which we had several. Beer is great, good prices. Tonight ordered the Patron margarita. 9.50$. If there was any tequila in there I'd be surprised. First two visits wait staff were super busy, but really made an effort. Tonight they were not busy at all and our waitress made many mistakes with our order, even coming back again and asking about salad dressing preferences, and still bringing the wrong ones with the meal. The fries, meh. Love to see real fries on the menu, but the cook needs a trip to the Brasserie down the street to get some fry pointers. Kids said the wraps were good, and they were all eaten, so that's good. Ceasar salad pretty tasty, but boxed croutons??? Your burger was delicious, prob one of the best in this town, so surely you could make some real croutons out of some leftover ciabatta buns? We will prob go back, but hoping management takes a look at a few of these slip ups. Great place, love the garage doors and design.
