The Blackened Cajun was not good at all. It was dried out and plain. Don't recommend.

These wings are the best I've had in the city as far as a take out wing spot. I've had the boneless and the regular both were great.

Pavlovian response (read: classical conditioning)…read more "Classical conditioning (also Pavlovian conditioning or respondent conditioning) is a form of learning in which the conditioned stimulus or CS, comes to signal the occurrence of a second stimulus, the unconditioned stimulus or US. (A stimulus is a factor that causes a response in an organism.) The conditioned response is the learned response to the previously neutral stimulus.[1] The US is usually a biologically significant stimulus such as food or pain that elicits a response from the start; this is called the unconditioned response or UR. The CS usually produces no particular response at first, but after conditioning it elicits the conditioned response or CR. Classical conditioning differs from operant or instrumental conditioning, in which behavior emitted by the subject is strengthened or weakened by its consequences (i.e. reward or punishment).[2]" Enter, Pacific Wraps. My CS? Hearing someone utter the words "Pacific Wraps." Someone alluding to "that wrap place in the union." Anything comparable. My US? Uncontrollable salivation. Let's back up the proverbial bus here to provide a bit of context for a place which many Milwaukeeans over the age of 23 may not know about. Pacific Wraps = wrap joint in the UWM Union food court. There's really nothing special about it, I assure you... though they have lots of options and some are healthy/inventive or whatever. Use your Panther Card if you're like 20 and mommy and daddy load it for you, or pay something like six or seven bucks for any of their myriad wrap choices: Thai Chicken, Chili-Hummus, the Firecracker, Mandarin Chicken Salad, Korean, Vegan Falafel... I could go on, but I'll stop with the mention of THE MONTEREY. I am a disgusting human because I loved and still love the Monterey wrap from Pacific Wraps. I am even more disgusting because sometimes I would sub in CRISPY (read: fried) chicken instead of the grilled. Let's talk about how perfectly pedestrian this piece is regardless: chicken, cheddar, bacon, rice, and ranch all wrapped up together in a delicious, delicious gut-bomb of a thing. You wouldn't think something so plain and so fast-food-esque could be so delicious, would you? You're wrong, though. I was thrilled, however, to learn the other evening over drinks and bites post-Brew City Bash II that both my Yelp-tern Jess S and elite extraordinaire Shane H share in my secret Monterey/Pacific Wraps shame. I am alone no longer! I am not a secret disgusting monster! Shane went on to inform me that, sometimes, Pacific Wraps runs an AVOCADO MONTEREY special. Shane. I may or may not head to Pacific Wraps today and battle the throngs of 19-year olds. I'm almost ten years older than them now, and IDGAF about being in the student union anymore. Wait. Graduation was Sunday, right? Is PW even open? Do they close for the summer and I just wrote this review? TRAGEDY.

Here lemme "wrap" at ya folks for a bit…read more.. I deem Pacific Wraps to be the best food purveyor in the UWM Union. There's so much variety, as far as meat, no meat, gluten-free, spicy, mild, rice, no rice, etc. You really CAN have it all! The crew that works here obviously changes a lot since it is staffed by students, but they generally are pretty good at what they're doing. If they are out of a particular item, they are very good at suggesting alternatives. Sometimes you get one worker who just really, really, has no idea how to wrap a wrap. It is unfortunate and sometimes messy, but you know what? It still tastes the same! Eat it and go about your day! I recommend the Monterrey (rice, grilled chicken, bacon, ranch)! It's heaven in a cylinder!

Philly, thin slices of marinated flank steak grilled with melted provolone, sauteed mushrooms and bell peppers, tucked in a fresh baguette, for $15.25. The steak was tender. The sandwich needed a sauce, though.... it ate a little dry without one. For my side I chose A Little Bit of Both, which pairs the Asian slaw with Lulu chips. The slaw was the highlight of the meal, crunchy cabbage, carrots, scallion, peanuts and ramen noodles in a sesame oil and rice wine vinegar dressing. I wish I had gotten a full side of it instead of splitting it with the chips. The chips are thick-cut and made fresh to order, but they lacked flavor on their own. I was dining alone on a Friday at lunchtime. The place was fairly slow, and I did not feel awkward. My server checked in a couple of times and kept my iced tea refilled. It was hot and humid outside that day. The cafe was air conditioned, but it still felt humid inside, and the ice in my drink melted quickly.

Drinks arrived, followed almost immediately by appetizers, and then two entrees simultaneously, with the remaining dishes trickling out over the next 15 minutes. This disjointed timing meant some of us waited a considerable amount of time for our food while others at the table had already received theirs. The quality of the food was a major letdown. Several dishes suffered from poor preparation; the fries were hard, and the cheese curds were visibly overcooked, suggesting old oil. While the spinach dip itself was good, it was served with stale chips. My dad's Friday fish fry was particularly disappointing, with the cod tasting less than fresh due to the oil. My girlfriend enjoyed her chicken bacon wrap, but found the macaroni and cheese overwhelmingly cheesy and unseasoned. When my grilled chicken sandwich finally arrived, I discovered they'd forgotten the lettuce, and the chicken itself was chewy. My mother's burger was simply "okay." Overall, the experience felt overpriced for the quality received. The lack of attentiveness from our server, who never once checked on our food if it was tasting good or not, only added to our dissatisfaction. We left questioning who really is on third, as the entire dining experience was far from what we'd hoped for.

On my most recent visit I was grabbing lunch with my mom and opted for the power bowl. I was starving, so the more carb-heavy option was what I was after. First glance at the menu, I admit I was a little unsure. Lots of unique offerings, with the Grain Bowls, Plates, Greens & Grains being made with black rice or quinoa. The latter of which I am not a fan. Still, on my first visit, I decided to try the Thai Bowl. I ended up really enjoying the black rice. The roasted veggies were tender, and the thai basil pesto had a bit of spice to it, which paired wonderfully with the subtle sweetness of the curry. The portion size was perfect, satisfying me but not leaving me full. I also tried the Ginger Tepache, which was extremely refreshing and delicious. A wonderful alternative to Kombucha if that's not exactly your thing. The restaurant is bright and airy with bar, high top and table seating. I had to wait a couple minutes before someone took my order, but once that was taken my food was ready very quickly.
