I have to admit that chicken wings have never been my thing. I always felt like they were too arduous to eat to reap such little reward (i.e. meat). But, after being outvoted by the family on what to have for dinner I found myself at Wingstop. Not surprisingly, I had never been there before, yet my expectations were still relatively low. We ordered a 30 piece crew pack, which allows you to chose 3 different wing flavors, so we got mango habanero, garlic parmesan and hickory smoked bbq. Also included is a large order of fries, veggies and their 3 dipping sauces, ranch, bleu cheese and honey mustard. Some heat is a must for my family so we thought mango habanero would fit the bill. According to their chart it's the 2nd hottest flavor they offer, but calling it spicy is a misnomer as it was pretty much all sweet with barely any heat. The hickory smoked bbq was actually hotter. That's not to say that they didn't taste great, I just think the descriptions aren't particularly accurate. I skipped the dipping sauces because I'm not a fan of any of the ones they provided (I know that's blasphemy, especially when it comes to ranch!) plus everything was plenty flavorful already. The rest of the family loved them though. Overall, the meal was filling and satisfying and a decent bargain at around $40 for 4 people. Wingstop is reliable and pretty consistent. The wings are good and satisfy a craving. The fries (if you get them) are typically on the soggy side unless you dine in at one of the few small tables available. I imagine it isn't their goal to serve soggy fries, or greasy (sometimes) "dry sauce" wings, but, it's the nature of fried foods to go, I guess! House favorites are garlic Parmesan ("dry"), Medium (buffalo), and whatever the barbecue options are at the time! On occasion the habanero flavors grace our selections. I won't be back. There was no way to control the crowd who didn't want to be socially distant. With 12 people in the tiny waiting area, I tried to wait outside. However, other customers kept bathing past. The clerk would never look up for me to give him my name to pick up my order. I called in over the phone and I asked the employee if he could recommend me something because I had never ordered here, and he took me through step by step each item and asked what spice levels I liked and compared different flavors to other food and was incredibly helpful and kind. he even asked if i was gluten free or allergic to different spices which I wouldn't even had thought of. He said it would take 18 minutes to cook and it was a minute or two late when I got there, but he apologized and gave me my food which was very fresh! The worst experience! Why would you do people with a company like door dash that is stealing from you? I order from your website which places my order thru door dash. All of a sudden Barbara B text saying the order has been canceled because you can't fulfill the order. Well I call and they say she just left. Door dash can't track her and the staff Daniel lets me know this happens a lot. So I feel like WINGSTOP doesn't care about their customers. That was $28 I had to go thru hoops to get a conversation about a refund. Plus I still gotta find way to feed my family. By the way the refund doesn't happen immediately. So doordash has some of my money and my food and you have to refund it all. Looks like Buffalo Wild Wings wins.
