Adult Capri Sun and Strawberry Pineapple Margarita
    Caroline K.

Such a beautiful day to sit out on the patio for lunch! Both of the people who waited on us were fantastic; they had great recommendations and checked in on us multiple times. The drink selection was also great. The strawberry pineapple margarita was strong and refreshing, and the adult capri sun tasted exactly like someone who ordered that drink would want it to taste (my husband). He followed up his drink with a beer because if you're over the age of 25 I wouldn't recommend 2 adult capris suns! Lastly, the food was great. Our waitress suggested the spinach artichoke dip for our starter and she was spot on! Can't wait to come back here, it's the perfect place to relax after a morning out on north shore trail.

Emma and Conner are my number one favorite bar tenders in the world. I come here every night I get off work and they make me any drink I want. I love this place

I love this little part of town, and the restaurant inside is nice, and menu offers lots of tavern-like options. we came for lunch and it took about 5 mins for us to even be acknowledged at the "hostess stand" when we were seated we were greeted by an unenthusiastic waitress. The 3 of us ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and the plate of "choose your own" 4 appetizer plate. The mac and cheese sauce was pretty loose and not very cheesy, The buffalo chicken was mostly breading. The 4 apps came out med-warm and I didn't love much there either. we got the Southwest eggrolls, the fried Jalapeños (maybe the best of the lot), some soggy sweet potato fries and the same over-breads buffalo chicken wings. Maybe the thing to get here is a burger or the fish and chips...people seemed to be enjoying those around us.

Delicious as usual. Portions seem a bit smaller, but still tasty. Even though bar windows were open, still very cool inside. Service was great!

Nice ambiance and bar & grill vibe, but food is hit or miss. I've been here 4 times and no consistency on food at all.

I came here for a work lunch, had no idea the are this place is on existed. It is a really cool area and The Tavern fits right into the area... I will give this place a 5 on atmosphere. They have done a great job bringing in the tavern feel and ambiance. The place has a really nice vibe. The service was really good. Our waiter was was attentive without being obtrusive. He checked in regularly and got us everything we needed. Our food came out in reasonable time and was fresh and hot. I ordered the Lemon Pepper Chicken. It came with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. The chicken was good but the lemon was a bit overpowering in some bites. The veggies were seasoned with lemon pepper as well, and that was a little too much. Mashed potatoes rocked. Fun place, I will be back!

This location is awesome, we began our dinner with a drink or two outside while we waited for a table. If we had a smaller party, I would have loved to have our entire meal outside. Not only was the weather perfect, but the ambiance and server were great, too. It was a perfect start to our dinner. Once we moved inside, we still had a very positive experience. The best part was the team of servers that we had to ensure our party was well taken care of and there was no issue. It was great to see everyone work together so easily. The drink menu is a bit small, but the options were very nice and had something for everyone. The food isn't quite as good as I had hoped - everyone said their dish was okay, unfortunately nothing was a standout. The mac-and-cheese was probably the best, collectively. There was a full meal buffalo mac that looked (and tasted) very good, too. Definitely avoid the Pad Thai - it tastes bad..and looks worse.

I have only been to The Tavern at Lakeside a couple of times. Sunday Brunch was very nice. We had 8 people and service was perfect. Lately, when I go to restaurants with groups of people the bills are always messed up. Our waitress had all of our bills separate and correct before we even asked if we could get separate checks. I had a pineapple mimosa and the chicken biscuit. My next visit was a girls night on a Tuesday. 50% off signature entrees is pretty nice on Tuesdays. I had the Redfish which was delicious! There is a nice selection of wine and beer along with a full bar and signature cocktails. It's definitely a spot that I want to continue to go to, because of the large variety of food choices, great service and location. Both times the restaurant was crowded, especially Tuesday night when there was a full restaurant inside and out. It has a party atmosphere.

Pasta tasted like watered down Alfredo, wasn't much of any flavor. Doesn't have any cajun flavor, was very disappointed. It's sad because for such a great environment the food is very bland. appetizers have so far been the good thing.

As you can see from posted pics here on Yelp the restaurant is classy with a brasserie ambiance and vibe. We elected to be seated in one of the very comfortable booths across from the attractive bar with its red, upholstered swivel stools. My wife opted for a glass of Pinot Grigio and I a Sazerac. The Sazarac was OK, but overpowered in this pour by the bitters (and I'm one who loves both Angostura and Peychaud bitters. I drink them both straight whenever I have a slightly queasy stomach and enjoy them straight). For starters we shared a bowl of French onion soup which on this chilly early winter morning was a comforting and savory start to our brunch meal. My wife went with the eggs Benedict and I decided to try the Oeufs en Cocotte, a dish I encountered here for the first time ever. The eggs Benedict, my wife reports, was excellent. Perfectly poached eggs, large slices of a tender and flavorful ham over a croissant-like puff pastry that had been split and grilled to perfection in butter on the flat top, topped with a nicely done Hollandaise sauce. Happily for me, she left a half of the butter grilled pastry. It was divine. Likewise the Oeufs en Cocotte, eggs poached in a shallot cream sauce, was heavenly. Cannot wait to enjoy this again! Perfectly cooked eggs in a flavorful, steaming hot, shallot and cream sauce. So good. Our server was perfectly attentive and very helpful, answering clearly our questions about the preparations of the dishes. So looking forward to our next visit.
