Their menu is pretty on par with other chicken spots, offering wings, tended, sandwichs. Pricing is on, maybe a little high for chicken. We placed our orders to go, I ordered a chicken tender basket with an Oreo milkshake, my wife got a chicken sandwich meal. After ordering we took a seat to wait, and wait...and wait. After about 15 minutes, my milk shake was ready, another 10 minutes, my food finally came out...and then we had to wait another 10+ minutes for my wife's food to be ready...far from fast food, 2 basic orders took over 30 minutes to prepare....pretty shameful. It was very clear they seem to put a priority on delivery and online orders over in store ordering. And they also seemingly only have one person in the kitchen that can only prepare one meal at a time. It's clear they are short staffed, but there are no signs up or perceived attempts at hiring. When we finally got home, the food was good, and the portions were adequate, but the slow food prep and lack of customer service is a huge deterrent for me to return any time soon.

The fish was flaky and tender, the remoulade it came with really elevated it, I'm glad it was not plain tartar sauce (gross). The appetizer favorite here is the pulled pork nachos for me, otherwise, we usually just get meals. If I had one small complaint, it's that the tea is usually brewed pretty weak. Steep it a little longer, and you've got me fully hooked.

That has apparently changed and the new Gluten Free menu is basically just the meats menu which is a real shame. It looks like they have made some other small changes to the regular menu as well, none of those were all that concerning but the loss of this GF treat is a real blow for us. If you are a celiac and found reviews about the GF crab cakes, please be aware they appear to be gone now. Additionally, the prices across the menu seem to have gone up by a few dollars. When you consider that Sammy G's was never a cheap place to eat, and given the state of the economy these days, that actually does come out to a noticeable change and makes it harder to justify going. I finally settled on the chicken, bacon cheese sandwich, opting out of the combo since it's $12, and I was going home anyway. The food came out fairly quickly, again, the place was empty. I took the sandwich home, it was good, but not great, a bit too greasy for my liking. The portion size was good, and more than enough for a lunch. Overall, not for me, their competitors certainly offer friendlier and better customer service, and cleaner food quality.
