I recently dined at Giovanni Ristorante & Bar Italiano, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite having a reservation, we were made to wait for a table upon arrival. To add to the frustration, it took a staggering 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and it was puzzling to see five servers standing around without tending to customers. The restaurant was not busy with empty tables. The hostess informed us that the servers decide which tables to take, which seems like an unusual and disorganized approach to managing a restaurant. Certainly, the hostess should have more authority over the seating arrangements to ensure a smoother dining experience. As for the food, it didn't live up to expectations, and given the overall poor service, I genuinely felt that there are much better dining options available locally. On top of that, I was surprised to see a $7.99 service fee added to the bill for the use of a credit card. This felt excessive and was not communicated beforehand. To make matters worse, I never saw a manager during our visit to address any concerns or check on our experience.
