I'm glad a Wing Stop opened up in this area. They are a chain, and they finally brought a few locations to CT! This is more of a fast casual restaurant. You order at the counter and everything is made fresh to order. They offer a good variety of sauces and rubs, and also your order can include 2 sauces/rubs which is good for a variety. Depending on how many wings you want to get - it might be better off to get the combo deal (9.99 for 10 boneless wings, fries and a drink and it was about $10.39 for drink/wings) Sauces are very flavorful, but for myself I didn't find too spicy. (then again I do have a higher tolerance! :) ) Today I ordered the cajun and garlic parmesan. My hubby ordered the traditional wings, and although they were small in comparison to other restaurants he really enjoyed the wings and said they were very flavorful. One thing though that was quite odd though was that when my hubby when up to the counter to ask for salt they told him that they don't carry it... which we both thought was very odd for a restaurant, especially one that serves fries! I also wish the had a few other options besides fries for a side, but they do have good fries. Although they do get bonus points for the Coke freestyle machine! When I was in there also - they had a sign on the wall indicating that Monday and Tuesday was boneless wing day and wings were .60 a piece. I had the boneless and I would have to say it is Horrible. Super salty seasoning. Chicken was rubbery and had a thick batter. This was my go-to wing place for a long time...until Superbowl Sunday 2019. Ordered online the day before for 5pm pickup on game day. The place was absolutely slammed and had to wait 35 minutes for order to be ready...which I kind of understand...busy day. Only to find out that people who called in their order that day had their order ready before mine. When I got home, the wings were so overcooked that they were dried out and completely inedible. Huge waste of money. They need to figure out a way to not take more orders than they can cook. I won't be returning. read more

I don't think we have this chain in Ohio. I used Yelp! To place my order from my phone, and got a wing combo for carry out. The price was about average for the amount and quantity of food. The online ordering system was superb, Ethel put it together very well. The Cole slaw and the traditional bone in wings were great. The boneless wings were not nearly as good. The regular hot flavor they have is too salty for my tastes. I'd eat there again, but stick with traditional, and not their regular hot flavor. My son and I have been drooling over Wingstop since it opened up, and finally got around to going tonight. I'm sorry to say we were both disappointed. We each got a combo with two flavors of boneless wings, fries, and a side of blue cheese. Here is my take on each item: Fries: The fries were warm (not hot) and the portion size was decent, but they were very limp and the flavor was so-so. Neither of us finished them Dressing: My son commented that he couldn't taste any blue cheese, and I agree with him. It was very bland. Wings: Wings were served hot, but were very small and were dry (except for the BBQ, which seemed to have more sauce than the others). As far as the individual flavors go: Atomic Wings: With the name and the ultra-hot rating, I expected to be really sweating eating these. I was therefore disappointed to find they weren't that hot. I would rate these as more of a medium-hot, a little hotter than normal wings but not by much. There wasn't much in the way of actual flavor. Cajun wings: These were OK. A little dry, and basically just tasted like tobasco sauce. Serrano Chile: These were a little moister than the others, but I didn't care for the flavor. Barbecue: The only flavor I really liked. It was saucier than the others; not dry at all, and had a good flavor. It was on the sweet side, and my son found it too sweet. A few other thoughts: The prices hear are similar to what you'd pay for a meal at a trendy "fast casual" chain, but the quality doesn't measure up. Also, they take "minimalism" a bit too far. There was no sweetener for the unsweetened Iced tea, no salt for the fries, no forks, and no napkins (only a roll of cheap brown paper towels hung vertically on a piece of pipe that you had to tear pieces off of). I decided to try out their delivery last night and the only reason they earned two stars was simply because I was told my order would arrive within 45 minutes only to have it come within 20-30 minutes. This is what had only impressed me. I ordered an 8 piece combo meal with cheese fries. I was excited and that soon turned to disappointment. I ordered all 8 to be covered in Louisiana Rub and they were boneless. The rub was overwhelmingly salty that I couldn't even taste the spices! It was too salty, in fact that I ended up throwing most of them away. I even tried drenching them in ranch but still they were too salty. Now, the not-so cheese fries.. I received a container of the cheese and my fries I had to make cheesy myself... The type of cheese you slather on nachos. I'm not impressed... My fries were cold upon arrival and in an open faced container. The wings were in a closed Styrofoam container and I was expecting the same thing but not so much. My fries were also soggy along with being cold and had great flavors and weren't too salty at all. Really disappointed in this place. First time getting food here At the Vernon location. We ordered online. Which was easy. I'm messed up on my flavor so I called the location and the guy who answered was very rude. When I picked up my food the lady in the front counter was scratching her hair and touching everything. When I got home everything was sloppily put together. The buffalo sauce was everywhere dripping in the bag. There was hot sauce fingerprints on my receipts. And the food was absolutely disgusting we got wings three different flavors all were disgusting. I got a side of carrot sticks. Those were the only things that tasted good. They were The only thing that was edible. I give this location zero stars horrible do not go at night time. Maybe the daytime staff and food might be better. They need to train their staff to be a little bit more professional and a lot more neat and cleaner. read more

These are the best wings in the Vernon area. They are MUCH better than Buffalo Wild Wings . I like that they offer several flavor options. My favorite are the mango habanero and the Louisiana dry rub. Wings are always cooked perfectly and are never soggy. On nights that I come home from work late, I occasionally stop here for the family meal pack. The staff members are very nice and helpful when selecting flavors and meal options. I suggest calling ahead or you may have about a 15-20 minute wait. We will be returning in the future. read more

Let me preface this by saying I'm a Hooters fan as far as wings are concerned. Not because you're served by a Hooters girl, which is a plus, but because I like that buffalo sauce. This place has a variety of decent sauces and everything is cooked to order. I tried the basic hot sauce on the wings, more of a sriracha style hot, and those were pretty good. Also tried some of the BBQ sauced version, it was ok but nothing to write home about. For the chicken nuggets I tried a Habanero sweet sauce that was excellent. I think I would go back for the nuggets and try a few more sauces. Have yet to try the chicken tenders, but can only assume they are also tasty, Staff was friendly and helpful. Especially when I went on a napkin quest and couldn't find any. A staff member pointed to the communal paper towel roll on the counter. Interesting. Someone pointed out they don't have salt. I would say that's a statement on their behalf that they have their seasoning down. Yes, the hand cut fries had plenty of salt, ( and they were awesome if not a kicker to your hypertension.) No trash can either, also kinda weird. For a place that only serves wings this place is nothing special. I was really hoping for a solid wing place in the Vernon area seeing as there are none. The wings we ordered were mild and teriyaki. The flavor of the sauce were bland and nothing special. The wings were also way over cooked as the bones basically fell apart as you ate them. Given the choice of the nearby hooters or Buffalo Wild Wings neither of which are outstanding this place is a distant third to those two places. I came here with some friends over the weekend to try this place. I ordered the 6 piece wing combo with 3 regular wings with barbecue sauce and 3 boneless wings with garlic parmesan sauce with an order of fries and drink. The boneless wings had more coating on them than it did chicken and the sauce was mediocre, the regular wings were not very meaty and contained some fat and were not any better than the boneless wings. The french fries were a large portion and were overcooked and for some reason they had a sweet taste to them like a sweet potato. My friends did not feel that their meals were anything special either. Bottom line is that this is a mediocre wing joint and I will not be returning here again. read more

First time customer. Staff very friendly plus ease of ordering online gets them an extra star. The food was just ok. Placed a 30 piece family pack order to go and it was enough for 2 adults and 2 teens for about $9 a person. Had both bone in and boneless wings. BBQ and Habanero coatings. I didn't try it but the family really loved the Ranch dipping sauce on the boneless BBQ and Habanero wings. I had the bone in ones and was unsatisfied with their lack of meat. Also they had many spots with basically empty coating that was over cooked and gave me the creepy feeling that I was eating some feathers that someone forgot to pluck. The fries were the unseasoned ones and they gave us a sufficient serving size and I really liked them. Ordered a side of cole slaw that was good too. Food is never ready when you order online or call in. 3 times I have ordered online and they always make you wait at least 10-15 minutes once you get there. This last time the manager said to give me a few extra wings to make up for it. The manager explained that corporate doesn't allow the online orders to be input directly in the system but rather print out at the printer and manual have to be punched in. Except the printer is right next to the register. And now after getting home and opening the order, the extra wings he promised aren't in there. Pretty pricey for what you get too. The wings aren't spectacular, but at least it's something different to order being a newer business in town. When this place first opened, I thought the food was great...sadly, they've already gone downhill. I visited around 3pm on a Monday when boneless wings are supposed to be $0.60 each, but the guy behind the register must have been tired because he charged me the combo price which was +/- 1.50 more. I ordered 8 boneless wings (Louisiana Rub and Hickory Smoked BBQ), fries and a drink. First, I don't normally expect all boneless wings to be breaded, but these were all coated, which unfortunately seems to have been the reason why the rub just tasted like spicy breading and not a true rub...(I make my own rubs and would never use breaded chicken for a rub). The BBQ wings were slathered in a sauce that seemed, sweet, but definitely not a Hickory nor a smoked flavor. The fries were extremely dry, as if they had been sitting under the heat lamps too long and I ended up leaving about 3/4 of them uneaten on my tray. BWW, though not the greatest, easily beats Wingstop on taste and atmosphere. The hallway is a sad excuse for an eating area.... and there were no garbage cans to be found. At first I found the menu to be a little confusing but the cashier Kelly was very helpful and recommended the mango habanero wings. I needed a quick dinner tonight after work and I remembered Wingstop recently opened in Vernon. I saw a $0.60 boneless wings special online and was sold. I placed a my order online, half Hawaiian and half Hickory Smoked BBQ with a small side of Bourbon Baked Beans, and when I arrived (5 minutes early) they were just finishing it. Another customer walked in behind me and they told him about 15 minute wait for 20 wings. When I got home, I saw they actually gave me 6 of each (12 wings) - bonus! The Hawaiian was delicious and the BBQ was smokey, both good. The beans had a strong Bourbon flavor that I didn't like at first, but grew on me over time. Overall, I'd come back - it was quick and tasty, and is closer to my home than BWW. I'll be honest though, I am not a wing fanatic nor am I a purist (after all, I order boneless and don't like Buffalo sauce), but I enjoyed it. Also, I didn't look around the restaurant much, there were definitely tables so you could dine-in, but I get the impression it is more of a take out place (vs. a sports bar, etc. like BWW or Sliders). read more
