We got the new classic crunch wings and spicy wings with galbi fried rice. I'm surprise the classic crunch flavor taste delicious as it did. I always order the chicken mixed yangnyeom - spicy and sweet. The donut is good. I love the pickled radish as well. Jap Che is amazing too. Bibimbap must try. You can do dine in or to go. I like it to go sometimes for for cozy feel. They have plenty of seats for dine in. They need to make sure that bathrooms are tidy. The floor is a bit greasy. Be careful. The staffs are friendly. Bonchon is across from the West Farms Mall, in an open air plaza between a pet store and Trader Joe's. I book marked it because I heard about their chicken - my gracious the chicken was amazing! Moist and insanely crispy, it is my new standard for fried chicken. I got the classic crunch, and it had a coating that reminded me of chips, but only added to the flavor. I would highly recommend (and have) to fried chicken fans. The street corn had a great cheese flavor, and the fries went well with ranch. The mopo hot dog I loved, although I dislike balsamic enough I wish I had left it off. Amazing cheese pull though! My server was very patient and kind, thank you Michelle! Got a corndog and some chicken tenders,wait time was not too long, and we dug in. Wings were similar to wings stop. Decent quality chicken, heavy batter and lackluster sauce. The wings did have some spice, so that wasn't lost. Serviceable for the price. The corndog was a giant mozzarella stick with a smattering of potato pieces. Not a corn dog in the traditional sense, but not bad either. Wait staff were helpful but very busy. Lots of to-go business bogging down the kitchen. As a food option, it's an option. Went to bonchon in west Hartford with my daughter and boyfriend for a late Sunday lunch. It was a bit busy but after about 10 minutes we were seated at a booth. Looking at the menu they offer a delectable assortment of Asian foods. The table is pre set with a plate and a napkin with a cute pocket with a fork inserted into it. It was a bit of a wait for our server to come to that table. We all chose to go with what Bonchon is known for..the wings. Each of us got wings with different sauces but we all chose the seasoned fries. The food arrived after about ten minutes with the fries arriving first in a cute basket with checkered paper underneath. Good portion and super crispy. Nice flavor. Next were the wings. Again a good portion with a super crispy texture and seasoned with a perfect amount of sauce coating every wing beautifully. Everything you want in wings. I absolutely loved the crispy picked dikon radish that came with the wings. I also tried the Cole slaw that was also really good. So many restaurants have terrible Cole slaw so I was happy with this offering. The food was really good and I would definitely recommend. I do however have two negatives. First is the temperature of the hot water in the rest room. Absolutely dangerous!!! I burned my hands. I spoke to the manager and addressed my concerns but I worry about kids. If I was a child we would be on our way to the hospital. It was that hot. The manager (who was never visible until I asked, hiding in the kitchen) asked if we just turned the hot water valve or if we turned both cold and hot. It shouldn't matter....especially to the board of health! Beware!! The other issue I saw was when the dishwasher came out with clean silverware to reload the service station. All the silverware was upside down with the part you put in your mouth sticking up. This person with no gloves was grabbing the silverware and putting it into the servers station. First time here. We were seated fairly quickly. We both ordered bibimbap. One bulgogi the other spicy chicken. The bulgogi marinade was excellent and the spices on the chicken spot on. This is the first Korean restaurant I've been to in Connecticut that actually achieved the crispy rice on the bottom. So good. I wish their bibimbap included kimchi like many other Korean restaurants include. We also ordered the octopus appetizer that didn't show up until we were halfway through our main dish. I ordered Bonchon through DoorDash and was seriously blown away! Sometimes delivery food doesn't hit the same, but this was chef's kiss from the first bite. I got the Korean Street Corn, Tteokbokki, Seafood Fried Rice, and the Bulgogi Bao Buns--and I loved every single dish. The flavors were bold, savory, and super satisfying. The corn was creamy and just spicy enough. The tteokbokki had that perfect chewy texture and a rich gochujang sauce. The seafood fried rice was packed with flavor and generous portions of shrimp and squid. But the bulgogi bao buns? So tender, sweet, and juicy--I could eat those all day. Bonchon has become one of our favorites when we are in the area for a quick lunch and doesn't break our budget. You can order takeout, but we have only experienced dining in. The staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient even when the dining room is busy. The restaurant is clean, has a modern vibe, and low lighting, but the dining area isn't too large. While the restaurant isn't busy, Bonchon is located in the Corbin's Corner plaza which is always packed because of Trader Joe's. You will have to be patient while finding a parking space. Bonchon is one of the few places for my husband can get Korean Fried Chicken while I like to try their spicy dishes. They have a simple wing menu choosing from wings, drumsticks, combo (wings & drumsticks), strips, and boneless with either soy garlic or spicy sauces. It also comes with either pickled radish or coleslaw, we highly recommend the radish. The wings have a nice crunch, flavorful sauces, and the meat is juicy. My personal favorites dishes are the Takoyaki--fried octopus dumpling and Tteokbokki--a spicy stew with fish cakes. When the item is marked as spicy on the menu, Bonchon does not hold back the heat. We also like to get a side of Kimchi to go along with our meals. The extra sides also help cleanse your palate and cool off your mouth while eating the spicy dishes. For my meal, I ordered the the lunch special; 8 pc wings with half of it spicy and half Korean BBQ. There was a complementary side which I opted for white rice. The chicken was fried to perfection; it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The flavor profile of the spicy and Korean BBQ was intense; sweet salty, spicy, my taste buds were dancing. I love kimchi so I had to order a side; the pickled napa cabbage with a mix of spices helped cut the fried food fats. My husband ordered the Korean tacos; spicy chicken with coleslaw, lettuce, buttermilk ranch, spicy mayo, scallions, and spicy chicken in a tortilla. I had a bite of that taco and it was amazing. He also had their boneless chicken soy garlic and he said it was delicious. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive throughout the experience. Roaches!! Yes, this hurts for me to say because their chicken tastes amazing, but they have cockroaches. I saw several cockroaches the last time I was there in broad daylight. Imagine when the lights go out, it's gotta be bad. We kindly just walked out, bc we didn't have the heart to say anything to staff, we like the staff at this place too much and usually get take-out. I visited Bonchon on a Saturday evening for lunch after some shopping at Westfarms. We were seated quickly and our food also was served soon after ordering. The wings were amazing, we got the half and half sauces and the spicy ones were fantastic with the side of coleslaw. The soy wings were also great. The wings are so perfectly crispy but not greasy. We also ordered the salmon avocado ball special, the salmon on the outside was super tasty and crispy. The fresh avocado filling was also very refreshing. The chicken fried rice was also fantastic, it has a great flavor and it is not too greasy. The restaurant is in a great location relative to Trader Joe's and Westfarms. My son is a big chicken wing guy, which I'm not, however when he first introduced me to this place, I could not believe how good those wings were. Honestly the best chicken wings I have ever had. Wings are super crunchy with a lot of meat, definitely you can't miss with these wings. I got the boneless ones with they garlic and soy sauce. They were good too but the wings are just on another level, I think is the fact that supposedly fried them twice? I don't know, but whatever the case they are good. The location is in the plaza where there is a trader joes and best buy. I drive by the place all the time but never adventured in as I thought it was some mid type of place. I was wrong. The place is not super big but had a large screen to watch games. I will definitely be back for more of those wings. I went to Bonchon's West Hartford location the other day, and was a little unsure if I'd like it, because I've never had Korean BBQ and also don't like anything spicy... But after trying it, I can honestly say that everything was amazing! I started off with the Pork Potstickers, which were lightly-fried and delicious. You can get them brushed with either Soy Garlic or Spicy sauce, or half and half. I got half and half, and (not to my surprise) the Spicy sauce was waaayyyy too spicy for me! I couldn't eat these, but I loved the Soy Garlic! You can also get vegetable instead of pork. For my main meal, I ordered the small Korean Fried Chicken Drumsticks, which came with five drumsticks. I thought these drumsticks would be the size you get when you order chicken wings at a restaurant, but this was not the case... the drumsticks are normal-sized chicken drumsticks. So five was more than enough to fill me up! For sauces, you can choose from Soy Garlic, Spicy, Korean BBQ, or half and half. I got the half and half Soy Garlic and Korean BBQ. Just like the Potstickers, the Soy Garlic sauce on the fried chicken was delicious. The Korean BBQ sauce had a little kick, but not bad and I was still able to enjoy them. As far as the fried chicken options, you can choose from wings, combo (drums and wings), drumsticks, strips, and boneless, and all have small, medium, and large sizes. For dessert, I couldn't decide between the Korean Donuts and Mochi, so I got both! The Korean Donuts, which came coated with cinnamon and sugar and had a vanilla frosting dipping sauce, were AMAZING! Some of the best donuts I've ever had. The Mochi flavors they had were strawberry, vanilla, and green tea. They came cut in half with a dollop of whipped cream on the top, and these were also really good. The staff were friendly and the food came out really quickly. There is a serious quality control issue going on at this location. I used to order Bonchon a decent amount when I lived in NYC and always thought it was a bit overpriced so it was never my first choice, but I was craving it the other day and noticed they had reasonable lunch specials so decided to order. Giving two stars instead of one because the fries were tasty as was the daikon as always. However, my choices for lunch sides were either fries for a bit extra or daikon, and I ended up paying $2 for a massive side of daikon when all I really wanted was a few cubes for free. Anyway, not the end of the world. The chicken was terrible. Dry and completely devoid of the delicious glaze that I order bonchon for. I got half spicy and half soy garlic, and both variations were only partially dusted in some sort of flavor that did not resemble what I'm used to at other bonchon outposts.
