What a mistake I made going to Longhorn Steakhouse instead of Texas Roadhouse. The restaurant was FREEZING. We had to ask the waitress and then the manager to turn up the heat. It took them till we were halfway thru our meal before finally taking action. Then, after about 15 mintues, the place went COLD again. We asked the manager to raise the heat yet AGAIN. He did, but only for a couple of minutes and then turned it off again. He actually tried blaming our cold on being seated next to the windows. Idiot. Doesn't matter the reason for us feeling cold. All that matters is that we ARE cold and feeling miserable. The other issue I had was with my steak. i ordered a rib eye. It came to my table looking thin and awkward (not the normal looking rib eye). I'm a rib FREAK. I know what a good one looks like and this definitely wasn't it. Furthermore, they pan fried my steak. WTH! Who does that to a rib eye? It should have been flame cooked. I complained and they told me "that's the normal way we cook them." No way... I just went to another Longhorn Steakhouse just the week before and that steak was good looking and flame cooked. I told my waitress to send it back and cook one correctly. The next one came out flame cooked, but still looking sorry (very thin, no cap, and tough). Honestly, as soon as I felt cold, I should have left. Shame on me for giving them the chance to correct this situation. My family and I visited this location after a graduation. We had 3 children with us and they did a great job handling us lol. Everything we ate was delish and my parents got cocktails and they enjoyed them as well. The kids loved their chicken tenders. I ordered the steak salad and it was so flavorful. The Mac and cheese was also really good. Our server was even able to give my sister a sweet treat for graduating. I will visit again for sure. read more

Stopped in for lunch to catch up with a friend. We were greeted immediately and had a short wait as a table was cleaned for us. Once we sat down our server arrived to take our drink order. Let them know we were in no rush as we wanted to catch up. We ordered two bacon cheeseburgers, mind with onion 'petals'. Both burgers ordered cooked medium. Burgers arrived more on the medium rare side than medium but still had plenty of flavor and the bacon was nice and crispy. The onion petals had a nice crunchy outside with a nice tender onion inside. Food was good, server was great in that they checked in and refilled drinks as necessary without making us feel as if they were rushing us. Can't believe that I never wrote a review. This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants. Never had a bad meal here. Love the dim lights and the atmosphere. The drinks are great. I love the 5.99 Texas Margarita. All of the dishes are great, but especially the renegade sirloin with redrock shrimp. You basically get three sides with this meal because the rice is not counted as a side. So much food used with this dish and even used to be a little cheaper back in the day, but still a great deal overall one of the best in the business. So if you're hungry, try this. If you want a better piece of steak you can get the New York strip or prime rib dish I can't come here without starting my meal off with the bread and a cup of the amazing baked potato soup my favorite baked potato soup around Salad is always fresh and cold. Ate here once, long ago. Left such an impression I never went back. Fast forward to now, and we try it again. Our neighbor swears by the place, so maybe things have improved. Ehhhh, maybe. Toast underneath is no longer a side dish, so... ok. They got rid of the toast. A plus! Steak had that chewyness factor going on. Baked potato was undercooked. My latest visit to Longhorn in Manchester was after a hard day at work this week. As I parked, I noticed nearly all parking spaces were occupied. The place was wall to wall people! I had my dinner in the bar. The two assigned bartenders were swamped, to put it mildly. One of the bartenders was dedicated to service, the other was a true lazybones. My service was ok, not great. I had to ask several times for simple requests. Luckily, the leftovers were wonderful. My tip was indicative of fair service, not great. Hopefully, the management will schedule more staff on Saturday evenings from now on. This will improve their diners experiences. read more

This used to be our local "go to" dinner spot but due to inconsistency (food temp and cooking) we pretty much stopped, except lunch. We decided to give them another try last night and I see why we stopped. The good: my French onion soup and sweet potato side were both awesome! My NY strip, however, was burnt, well done and dry. Barely edible which is why I left half there. I ordered it medium well after being told I couldn't order it "medium +" (between medium & medium well). Clearly should have gone the other way and ordered it medium. She ordered the Longhorn porterhouse also cooked medium well and hers was also over cooked but not as badly or as dry as mine but said it was served cold and still overcooked. Her salad and loaded baked were both good. Our server was a bit cranky. We sit at the bar and have been many, many times including with this server. We arrived 4:30 on Saturday and the bar was near full. The only 2,seats together were at the very end and 1 chair was in front of service bar area. There was another section of the bar with just 1 seat but lots and lots of room (could easily add 2 more chairs) so we asked if we could bring 1 more chair there and she barked "no" at us. Puzzled I asked why....she then said she thought I wanted to bring that chair over to end of bar where there was no room and did a 180 and said yes (reluctantly). We will still come back for their $9.99 lunch burgers (great lunch deal!), but pass on dinner. Even a chain steakhouse should do better and they should be embarrassed serving that piece of dry wood they called a NY strip. I though about saying something but didn't want to be that complainer and wasn't looking for a free meal or waiting 15 minutes for a new steak (if they even offered). Being told they could not seat a table of 10, when we called ahead and were told to just come in but we could not make a reservation. For an establishment that puts steak on the outside of there building.... They need to improve on the quality of the steaks. This was my first visit to Longhorn. I was not impressed by the level of service and the food. Waiter was very hard to find. I ordered the ribeye specifically to see if they could make an average steak great. We wanted steak for our last night before flying home. We know Longhorn fromFlorida and the flavor did not disappoint. What I was surprised at was the lack of training for the staff. Our server was wonderful but woefully under trained. I ordered a bottle of wine and I have never seen a server put the screw through the foil and the try to pull the cork out threw it. No idea how to use the classic bartenders friend classic wine opener. The bottle I ordered was not the bottle she opened but they billed us for the more expensive bottle. If you are in the mood for some high blood pressure along with a side of sodium overdose, I think you've come to the right place. Before I dive in deeper into the food reviews, I must say local restaurants and franchises in the area are really terrible at handling large parties of people during peak hours or holiday seasons - reservations cannot be made but upon arriving, we are often told to be on hold/wait for over 45min-1hr before any availability is possible even during the late hours! Now aside from that, I must say the wait staff was nothing but pure grace and friendliness and I'm sure were overwhelmed by their long and tiring day so I do have a huge appreciation for them for staying professional and graceful in situations like these. Onto the food - everything in this Restaurant tasted salty. I have been a previous customer of longhorn steakhouse at different locations but none was worst (or did I ever imagine could be possible!) than this location. If you are watching for your health and sodium intake, I'm warning you that perhaps the options provided are not the best. We ordered some wings and some Texas tonion (fried onion pieces) and they ran salty but still edible. I do enjoy the Texas tonion because you don't have to pick apart an onion bloom or have to deal with rings that might be bigger than the size of your face but I did find that the batter runs salty. Now onto the sandwich and burger - both ran dry and the fries were saltier than sand. The fries were completely inedible and for decorative purposes only at that point because they were SO salty. I'm not sure if this particular location prefers to season theirs by dumping the entire bag but definitely too much for any healthy human consumptions. The burgers and sandwich do not have any other particular points to talk favorable about aside from those listed above. Honestly, I would not recommend this particular location unless you wish to be waited by a very friendly staff and want good "company" because the food was not worth it. If you are in the mood for salt, salty and some hypertension, then maybe this spot is for you. Hoping that the next time I have the opportunity to stop by (only under extreme circumstances I hope for myself), they will give the option of having less sodium or none at all because seasoning food should not completely rely on salt but other flavors as well read more

Had diner 2 nights ago at Rocky Hill Texas Longhorn. Very disappointing. The salads large but maintained heart of the lettuce.Tomato and cucumber were chopped so small it was hard to recognise,Sort on dressing and you needed to chop the lettuce yourself. Omg guys. I was so disappointed and disgusted yesterday. So my husband and I had a sneak date, which is rear with little ones. We decided to come here since it was close to shopping. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. My drink was made several times due to "gnats landing in the drinks." I finally got one made and to my dismay, something was floating in it. We have loved going to Longhorn for years. The last two visits have not been good and its truly just not having enough staff. Last night we waited 30 minutes for party of 4 and were told 30 to 40 minutes, when we checked with hostess she said we had 8 parties still in front of us. Its not her fault but when half the tables are empty due to not having enough waiters its a little frustrating. The last few times its been the same deal, what made it worse is we went to Texas Roadhouse and got seated immediately. This chain has close to 400 restaurants in 35 states, but somehow I never set foot into one of them until Saturday, when we stopped in for lunch at their Manchester location. As you might expect, it's Western themed with all sorts of cowboy and horse paraphernelia everywhere. Service was great -the two people we came into contact with were the cheerful hostess and our very charming server, Stavros. We started off by splitting a "Wild West Shrimp" appetizer ($9.99), we each had a cup of Shrimp-Lobster Chowder ($3.99), and an entree apiece. The shrimp appetizer was pretty good - a big platter of fried shrimp served with sliced hot peppers and a ranch dippping sauce. But as were had just started eating the shrimp, the chowders came out and that was definitely a misstep - no way these dishes should have been stack-served to us. To make things worse, the chowder wasn't very good, other than being served very hot. Maybe if you had a microscope and a pair of tweezers, you'd be able to find a few slivers of shellfish - we sure didn't find any. Our entrees were very good- I had a Bleu Ridge Sirloin Salad ($12.49) - a terrific dish of steak slices over a terrific salad of fresh Romaine, blue cheese, onion and diced tomatoes. I liked the salad a lot, there was a good portion of well cooked steak, and it was a good value at $12.49. My wife's Steak and Burger Cheddar Melt ($10.99) was a pretty good sized sandwich served with a curiously chintzy amount of French fries. Check out the photo and decide for yourself. We had a few bucks left over on our gift card, so we ordered two desserts at $3.49 each. The Peanut Butter Cheesecake was pretty good, but the Banana Cream Pie was flat out fantastic1 For about $50 we had a very enjoyable lunch, in spite of the few issues I mentioned. One very cool thing I noticed, is that when the check arrived, it was broken down into subtotals for "Guest No. 1" and "Guest No. 2". .. I've been to this location a few times and never had anything but good experiences with the service, although the food is what I'd call average they do at times exceed my expectations. This particular visit was one of those times, it was approximately 7:30 PM when we arrived on a recent Thursday evening the restaurant was about half filled so we were able to get a table without a wait. Our server promptly took our drink orders and made us aware of the specials, once we placed our orders it was a very short wait before our salads arrived. The dinner size wedge salad was portioned perfectly and served ice cold, all the ingredients appeared fresh and were flavorful. The prime rib arrived cooked exactly as ordered "medium rare" sitting in a rich au jus along with steam asparagus. The 12 oz prime rib was lean and tender and had very good flavor, the asparagus was a little fibrous towards the bottom of the stalks but were still a good choice. This is one of my favorite restaurants. My absolute favorite here is flo filet. It is basically fillet mignon. The stake has some good flavor. Longhorn salmon is very good as well. For sides, I like the mac and cheese the most. It is nicely backed and packed with nice flavors. The rice is good too. Mashed potato was ok. Generally I stick to wild west shrimp for appetizer. For dessert, I almost always go with the chocolate stampeded. It is a huge dessert with 2 cakes and 2 big scoops of ice cream. Even for 2 people this dessert is overwhelming. read more

I was served the most disgusting ribeye in my life. More than half was pure FAT. I could not eat it. The mashed potatoes were swimming in butter. Gross. I complained and they brought me another equally disgusting ribeye. They tried to tell me it was marbling in both cases. I told them they were insulting my intelligence.
